Marcos, if you can believe this? When I was a kid, I'd go to the
Cub's game and sit in the bleachers for $1. The El would cost .13. Plus I could go alone and not be worried. Life was a lot simpler then. And yes, I'm a Cub fan. Always have been, and always will be. I remember arguing about who was the better SS, Aparicio or Banks, when Banks played short. That's how far back I go. I remember Jack Brickhouse doing the broadcasts-hey! Hey!
Marcos, where in Chgo do you live? I grew up on the North Side. Lived in Highland Park before moving to N.C.. God I mss the food, and going to Cubs games!!!
Jobless claims improve, but the market is still heading lower. Another negative IMO. Good Morning, I hope.
Fred, the only sector that looked good to me, was Brokerage. That, frankly, is not a bad sector to provide leadership. Conversely, if their profits were, primarily, from trading, well, that was a function of the environment we WERE in. What the future brings, I'm beginning to agree, is in question. I'd rather see the Banks lead. FWIW
Looks like the Bond Market is giving us a much needed boost!!
Liz, when the market reacts negatively, to good news, it's not a good sign. Plus, I expected a rebound from recent weakness, today. Obviously, in my mind, anyway, today's performance leaves a lot to be desired. It might yet strengthen, but key issues seem to be faltering. I do believe, however, that small, or micro caps, is the place to be long. That or stay in cash, until we reach some sort of stability.
Liz, I bought SIRI a few days ago. I don't know. Their earnings didn't seem bad. I'm beginning to believe Fred is right.
Good Morning. My stocks have been in a Bear market, the last 2 days!!
Fred, You talk about "turn around Tuesday." In my 30+ years in the markets, I've always considered Wednesday to be much more relevant. I think the term turn around just happens to fit with Tuesday.
We have spent a long time in a fairly sound uptrend. I'm not as concerned that we are entering a "Bear" phase. I would still consider it a correction. It would have to fall a lot more then it's showing, any indication of, to get me to think bearish. At least, at this point.
Boy, Fred. Sounds like you're in a worrying mode. Worry about the loss I took in IIIM, as long as you're stressing. Like Rheeman said, if we have to fill that gap, let it happen now, and quickly. As opposed to later when it could be a slow, bloodletting. Keep the faith.
Fred, with the Bond Market tanking, like it is, it's gonna put question marks on a lot of things. To me, that's what the Stock Market is concerned about. Given Greenspan's stance, the Bond's are disregarding the Fed, entirely. I think, at some point, soon, it's gonna force the Fed to act. IMO
BTW Fred (SIRI), my target is $2.50. FWIW
Fred, tell me a time, ever, when there was nothing to worry about. Worrying goes along with living. IMO
(CLN) Bullish Engulf, if it closes here, or higher. FWIW
FWIW The BB Bands on SIRI have tightened, nicely. If it closes here, it will be above the upper band. Great sign!!
Boy, I just got my rear end kicked. IIIM announced a merger, and the stock went down .50. Not such a good morning!!
Rheeman, as you know, IMO, Wednesday is the most crucial day of the week. That'll be the day we'll find out.
Ron, you're right about the 'long, white, candle." If ORCH was building one, I'd be in it. But, keep an eye on it.
(OPWV & ORCH) Nice moves, today. ORCH fits my profile. FWIW
Hawk (ADCT), that explains why it had such a good week, last week.
FWIW Bought SIRI and IIIM. Good Morning, All.
Ron (HLSH), I just looked at the chart and there was a day there that appears messed up. Unless you know it's legit. If you do, let me know because it wouled make a difference in interpretation.
Ron, you always do your part, and then some.
toonce, the best thing we can all do for each other is to point out things that we see that might be worthwhile. It's impossible to be on top of everything. That's why this board is so great. We ALL contribute. Then, we make our own decisions as to whether, or not, to get in.
Hawk, I bought back in this morning, sold at $3.50, then watched it go to $5. I don't feel to smart!!!
Ron, I didn't know that. I had always thought that Sept and Oct were the worst months to be in the market. Interesting.
FWIW Got back into WAVX. Good Morning!!
Ron, I promise I'll keep my mouth shut. Please don't yell at me!! :-}
Ron, I know you don't care who started it, and I agree the whole thing was unnecessary, but all I did was respond. I chose my words carefully (keeping you in mind). I'm fairly sure I'm not the only one who has had it with Lisa. That's all I've got to say, and will not respond to anything she initiates, again. Scout's Honor!!
BTW, she's not my Gumbi.
toonce (GTW), I wish you had asked me earlier, then I'd have bought some. Solid uptrend!! Over the BB Bands. Heck, if it opens lower tomorrow, I'm a buyer. $4.85 would be a great spot, with a close stop. I didn't like the market tanking on the close. Especially after all the good news we've had today.
Never hesitate to ask me anything. You're my oldest buddy on these BB's. And, obviously, we agree about a lot of things. hehehe
(OPWV) Sold WAVX. Don't like the market's slide, but thinkin about OPWV.
Rheeman, send me your e-mail address. With switching over to the new computer, somehow I lost it.
It certainly wasn't because of your sex appeal!!! LOLOL
(WAVX) It looks like it can make it to $2 in the short term.
Fred (WAVX), I used to own the stock, a few years ago. As I recall, INTC had a pretty big stake in it. That's if my feeble memory serves me correctly.
Fred, FWIW Bought WAVX
(WAVX) Take a look. It fits my pre-requisites, perfectly!! Great Mo!!
Actually, compassion is my strong suit, otherwise I wouldn't have tried to help you, in the first place. Remember your "oodles of money?" Who was responsible for that?
Thanx Fred. I'm choosing my words carefully, keeping the Sheriff's opinion in mind. I knew this was coming. It was just a matter of time.
Cool & focused.
I don't recall anyone piling on my "bandwagon." Plus, most of your problems are self induced. You're a professional victim. That's where you feel the most comfortable. So be happy in your self-pity.
