Awk-
I admit that I am one that needs things spelled out but I'm sure there are others as well. Can you explain that and its signficance? Thanks
OT-June Smart Computing Article on Seagate 5400 FDE
I can't find a link for this article but I found a half page (at the very beginning) of Smart Computing on the Seagate 5400 FDE. There was no mention of Wave but it did compare software encryption to the Seagate hardware encryption. The title of the article was 'Encrypting Drive Takes No Chances.' I've been looking through all of the major Computer magazines and this was the first time I spotted the encrypted hard drive. Just nice to see this. All positive. I'm sure we'll hear more in the near future.
I did like this one line,'Known as full disc encryption, this technology is considered more secure than software-based encryption because the keys and encryption functions reside on the drive and don't interact with the operating system.'
Thank you Whitewash!
OT-Dell/Boeing commercial
I was watching the Yankees/Redsox game on FOX and I just saw a DELL/Boeing commercial. I know this was brought up yesterday, but it looks like Boeing is really endorsing Dell in a commercial. Pretty cool. I wonder if Dell has been advising Boeing about the upcoming encrypted drives in the Latitude line. Interesting.
Wavxmaster: I was also wondering where you were, also. I live in Conn. too.
IBM and the FDE drive...
I just read that the announce date for the FDE drive on the Thinkpad was 5/31/07. I guess I missed that. The planned availability date is 6/5/07 (Worldwide). The web page this was on was last updated 5/31/07.
This was for Thinkpad 160GB FDE 5400RPM.
Awk- Thank you for that information.
Wildman262-
I must say this has been the most frustrating and exciting experience at the same time. You may not have read this post but it was from telstarjohn a couple of weeks ago. Its post 144965. I thought that it was encouraging.

Dell FDE ship date...
I have heard an available date for the Seagate drive with Dell on June 11. Awk, you had mentioned a ship date from last week. The Dell rep I spoke was with Small business so I'm not sure if the date was solely for small business. Anybody who has information on when Dell ships FDE would be greatly appreciated.
TPM's shipped to date...50 million.
Is that 50 million from the beginning of this year or total. Last year was 50 million, the year prior was 20 million and this year is slated to be over 100 million. Why couldn't they have said 100+ million have been shipped so far or do I have my data wrong.
Intel Vpro
I don't think this demo has been posted yet, but I thought it was pretty interesting.
http://www.intel.com/business/vpro/index.htm
Go under 'Take business PCs to the next level'
Besides for the various Wave servers and to upgrade to NAC is there anything that would cause a prospective client to upgrade to the ETS Business edition? Would the remote management in VPRO require a ETS upgrade?
TIA
Orda, it says all the 'top' names. If you ask most people what Wave is they probably think of Hawaii.
Dutton conference.
Has anyone been able to listen to the Dutton conference yet?
Mayer,
I think all the Wavoids (that includes me) are waiting on pins and needles for Dell/Wave software (something besides .50 ETSL) TO SELL. Maybe I'm a little impatient here but I've been in since 2000 and we just issued another 7 million plus shares. All I can say is Dutton/SKS/Show me something....
End of June???
I'm not sure where you are getting your information from or when, but a few days ago I spoke someone from Dell and she said that the Latitude with Seagate FDE would be available June 11.
Barge - Zune?
Barge, shouldn't Microsoft have announced podcasting support with Zune by now. Also, what is happening with the DB35's from Seagate. Oh and, how are you doing? Are you going to the shareholder's meeting?
24601-
That could be a lot of Dell computers... Kaching.
Awk: Re: Dell 3.0
I happened to print off an Envoy pricing sheet back on 5/13 and it had the same price, $99.00 for the item you mentioned. Is this relatively new? I guess this is a way to incent the customer to pay 1/2 now or full price later.
Okay Tablekiosk-
How does this translate into dollars? Is this supposed to be a large dollar amount? What am I missing?
Its gonna be awesome...
Has this been reiterated again. Just wondering.
Tampa-
Do they say 1 for 3 stock split or 3 for 1? I always thought that you'd say 3 for 1:) If SKS doesn't have some serious answers at Dutton the Shareholder meeting might be very interesting.
SKS comment-
I recall SKS saying in one of the last couple of conference calls that if the right opportunity arises Wave wants to be able to go after that opportunity. I believe he was talking about raising funds to do this. Does anyone know where that quote came from?
TIA
Seagate FDE/Dell
I heard an available date for the encrypted drive for Dell small business of June 11th. Awk, any idea if the FDE with Latitude is still shipping this week for other Dell segments (ie Gov't, medium/large busines). Thanks.
Peter Sprague
How many years was Peter Sprague the CEO of Wave? What was he like? I guess I wonder if SKS has the get it done = profit or else attitude. Its just that Peter Sprague was a success at National Semiconductor for a number of years and I wonder if he wasn't a more tough SOB than SKS is. I think SKS is a genius in many ways and knows the business, but well I guess I just wonder.
All I can say is wow. Is that for real?
Shareholder meeting questions...
I'm attending the shareholder's meeting on June 7th for the first time. I'm not sure if there are any discounts on spending the night at the Helmsley Hotel for shareholders or if anyone has an idea of of a good hotel at a reasonable price. Is everyone in suits and ties or shorts and tank tops:)? Are any of the Wavoids going to meet up before or after the event? If there is anything that might be helpful to know for me or fellow Wavoids please share.
Thank you,
Genz2
Thank you for posting!
Did you happen to ask him about Seagate FDE drives on the Latitudes?
Sorry about that Ispro-
I got so focused looking for this Intel goods that I was looking on Microsoft site for Intel????
Micro made a good point as to what this says Intel thinks about Wave. I would think that when selling ETS and the servers Wave has a much better shot when it can point to documents like this. I'm sure it goes much deeper but this is really 'cool'.
Ispro-
That documentation re: the ETS is pretty exciting. Thank you for your help. I'll need to go back to the Wave site and do a refresher on many of the subjects that have left me. One LAST question (I think), I wasn't sure where you went on the Microsoft link after getting to the initial page.
Ispro-couple more questions-
Key migration or vault sharing requires the ETS Enterprise edition. I'm not sure what Key migration or vault sharing is.
There is the use of a fingerprint reader. I believe Papa Gino's uses a Embassy Authentication Server. If a customer is using biometrics why would they not use the EAS.
I guess the point I'm driving at is it would seem like there would be a need to have the ETS Enterprise edition in many cases.
Ispro-That makes sense. Thank you.
Ispro thanks and...
In one of your links it describes the key transfer manager so I am under the impression that this would need to be the Business edition Embassy Trust Suite and not Embassy Trust Suite lite. Is that correct? Thanks again.
Thank you Snackman. That was outstanding reading. It really gives you a taste for what this technology can be used for. The TPM is truly a great technology. THANKS AGAIN.
Now that's DD. THANK YOU!
I think its more like WIFS...When Is the Financing Syndrome?
90 day DART review-
I think that is what the time frame was for this review. Does anyone have any idea whether the DOD was waiting for this review to be completed before purchasing the encrypted drives? Or is it possible that the DOD could be buying now.
TIA
Institutional ownership....
Wasn't institutional ownership 17% a little while ago? A decline of 7%.....
Dell Latitude info-
I read for the first time the 'spec brochure' for the Latitude line of notebooks. One line I liked was "IT decision-makers will appreciate the optional encrypted or solid state drives..."
Mentions optional encrypted drive under smart security as well. Looks good to me.
Yes, I guess I'm glad to see that is on the market, but are they using the Seagate DB35 drives in it. SKS said that they had completed the key management infrastructure for the Seagate consumer drives. Does that then link with the DB35 and more importantly how does Wave PROFIT from it? Thank you for your response.
Genz2
Zune-Anybody know about Zune and podcasting yet.. Barge
Also when is the XBox 360 Elite going to be on the market? I guess I'm wondering whether the DB35 is part of it.
Are the DB35's from Seagate in anything yet? I thought they were going to be in the market before the enterprise FDE from Seagate.
Thanks for your answers in the past Barge.
