Fair,
Yeah, just had a chance to pick up some more and wasn't sure - given my inexperience - whether power-hour or tomorrow's open was the opportune time. But yes, I'm still excited... to say the very least.
I went ahead and made my last acquisition just before close, at .053 (couldn't get the .051).
I figured that with all my other buys between .035 and .4, I could afford to not be optimal on this last purchase. And given the possibility of a gap up in the morning, I figured I'd just get the deed done.
I sure wish tomorrow would start slow though. I have a lot of family/friends who I'm trying to get in on this, but who cannot get in until tomorrow. I'm pretty sad they missed the .03/.04's... but what can you do?
I am in position, and very excited to see what plays out.
But I'm in for the long. Tomorrow (and such) is just for entertainment purposes.
Wishing everyone well.
What's the story, am I gonna get a chance to get in at .05/.051 tomorrow morning???
If not I'm going in now.
Okay, can someone explain - in really laymen's terms - what these recent warnings of "caution" are about? Help me understand. I don't want to do something stupid.
Also, I was considering acquiring more today, but now based on what some have said here, it seems like I should maybe wait until first thing tomorrow morning? Is that right?
(To this day I still don't understand all the talk about MM's and their machinations... any help on that score would be hugely appreciated to.)
Nic.
Aside from jetting to the bank on my Zuma a moment ago, I've basically just been dancing around my apartment to this:
So am I gonna get another chance at .037, .038, ? Or should I just go now?
Let's ask a very reasonable question.
If we (i.e. us mere peons) know this "news" that is "immanent," and how it is (supposedly) drive this price out of the depths...
Then WHY don't those with WAY more means/capitol/savvy/knowledge know this as well, and why hasn't the price ALREADY responded?
We're not that brilliant. What gives?
This is old... but bodes well.
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/15/technology/15hotelTV.html
What is crazy is that all of my fantasy projections are conservative. I.e. A move up to like .35 would be life-changing for me.
And yet... just look at this company. Look at their product compared to their competitor (singular!). Look at their potential market. Look at their connections. Look - as so many have said - at the steady progression/gist of the PR's.
WHY should this not be a $1/share (or more!) stock?
It seems eminently reasonable/plausible that it should be.
(sigh)
Gotta stay skeptical... at least try. Less of a let-down that way.
But DAMN it is hard.
Is it me, or it waiting for the market to open almost unbearable given the sort of anticipation we all have for this company?
Not to imply that I believe anything will happen tomorrow, let alone tomorrow at market open... In fact, I hope nothing happens, as I'm still in acquisition mode with respect to this stock. I'm long, for sure, but not done accumulating the position I plan on riding into the sunset.
Okay, that was colorful, and way too confident given the risks we're all exposed to here, but I just CANNOT see how TIVUS is not going to do very well this next year, and thus I cannot see how I'm not going to either.
It's hard to imagine. I've never been in on anything like this. Stuff like this doesn't - I've always supposed - happen to me. But MAN it is all I can do to keep from dwelling on it at every moment.
I hope the folks at TIVUS are not just competent, but brilliant. This is the beginning of a fantastic thing they have going here, but it NONETHELESS takes great care and intelligence to get something like this off the ground, and free of all the potential snares.
Anyway, obviously this is a insubstantial and pointless post. I just have to say again how excited/nervous I am.
my best to everyone,
PlatoNic
Okay,
Could someone just - once and for all - explain this "convertable" (ible?) thing to me?
I haven't followed ANY of the discussion on this point because I just don't know what they are, what they mean, etc.
Aesch (or someone), can you help me out here?
Nic.
Aesch,
This is INCREDIBLE work.
I have not shared the skepticism that has recently cropped up regarding offices, PO boxes, and so forth. I stated at the time that there are very plausible, legitimating explanations for everything that Thug's (I think it was him) short trip turned up.
But nonetheless, this - what you've reported here - is HUGE news even to me.
This company is forthright, and not hiding in the shadows.
I am SO encouraged by this.
And I am so excited.
Gotta try and contain it, and stay even-keeled about the whole thing.
NICE work.
I might be taking that trip to Omaha.
I do not find anything untoward about a P.O. box for a company like this and at this stage. There is a certain connotation to the presentation of your pictures that makes them seem 'investigative' and 'conspiracy-cracking.' But why should it be thought that a company like this would not handle their mailings through P.o. box? The skepticism here seems overplayed.
I think the perfectly straightforward answer from the hotel employee is consistent with my skepticism about your skepticism, confirming the former rather than the latter.
But like you begin to sound near the end, I am much more jittery over the mere practical steps of getting even a legit business like this off the ground. There are so many things that can go wrong.
Pray.
Unless you're not on good terms with Him, then hush.
I have to agree with a sentiment expressed yesterday. It is admittedly selfish, but if "in the end" we all ride off into the sunset anyway, then it seems pretty innocuous (at least assuming that no one is dangerously overextended right now).
Anyway, I too hope this thing sits where it is for a couple days.
I tied up some funds in another position that took a dive this morning, and now I can't get at those funds or else I'll violate some "free ride" rules.
So while I could be accumulating more TIVU at these prices, I'm just SITTING HERE.
Gotta wait for the funds to clear, or for my position to recover (fat chance). Hands are tied.
So about mid-next week would be good for me. =)
Also, I'd really like to get some family on board too. But of course I feel like a traveling medicine man while trying to explain how incredible this opportunity potentially is.
I'm so torn. I want this Marriott news (and others) SO bad. But if it waited I could stuff QUITE a few more shares under my pillow.
Also, may I just ask... People have said the MM's are causing the stock to stagnate despite the positive news yesterday and today. Now of course that is speculation, but assuming that it is true, I want to ask: How "powerful" are thy? Could they even keep it down upon the Marriott (or other) news? And what is their motivation for continuing to do so?
Short version: Do I need to be scared of the MM's, or just temporarily annoyed?
Nic.
Good Morning to everyone as well,
For those of you who missed the tail-end of the discussion yesterday, there are some very juicy bits of info that were dug up by a few folks (myself, nathanial, some others, I think... if I'm remembering correctly). Be sure to scroll down and check those out.
Just watchin' the opening hour here, then heading off to class for a little bit, during which I'll be with you in spirit (i.e. on my trusty new HTC EVO 4G). And then I'm headed back here to join the flock again.
It's all very exciting isn't it?
Just trying to stay grounded. It's hard.
God bless.
Nic.
Before Summer??
The CEO has said there are ALREADY several inked contracts ready to be announced!!
In cased anybody missed two important earlier posts... two hugely interesting facts:
1) Doug Marriott's Foundation's web site is strongly suggestive of the Marriott contract.
2) Falcon did Cowboy Stadium (i.e. they do BIG things).
Nic.
Okay, is it too late in the day for a little bit of "news"? Not really news, but I did some snooping and found the following. Granted, there is a sense in which there is nothing here that we do not know already. However, for those of us who are very hopeful that the Doug Marriott connection is indicative of a future relationship with Marriott (Corp? Inc? Whatever), there is some language here that is of interest.
First go to www.marriottdevelopment.net
Now click the "Projects" tab at the top.
Scroll down and note this sentence:
"With Marriott Developement's contacts in the hospitality industry and Tivus's bleeding edge technology, the future has never been brighter."
Interesting eh?
Granted, those 'contacts' don't necessarily refer Doug's cousins (i.e. the owners of Marriott hotels), but it is at least encouraging to have a bit of confirmation of the (albeit obvious) fact that Doug Marriott is on board for precisely this reason.
My PhD work just becomes less interesting by the moment. Daydreaming again. =)
It did whhhhhhaaaaa?
Okay, pull it together Nic!! I have no idea what accounted for a price that high, nor how long it took to get there, nor what kind of company LNET is, nor what TIVU's chances of overtaking them are.
So I'm just gonna try to pick my jaw up off the floor and pretend like what you just said is completely irrelevant.
BUT!
If this stock even gets to $5, I will be purchasing the English Language.
I'm almost scared to ask this... but where did LNET get to?
If this thing goes over a buck I might retire... at the tender age of 32. lol
That's a hefty bag of shares you have there.
And in your more realistic moments, how far do you imagine riding this?
30 cents?
50 cents?
I would be thrilled with either of those.
Eh, that was just me.
Sorry.
Would it be tactless and classless of me to ask you guys how many shares you're holding?
Well I did not know THAT!!
Double-Tree is a Hilton brand???
Hmmmm....
Please, please, please can we just get rolling on this? It's really hard to concentrate on life at the moment. lol
Okay, I sorta get it.
So what kind of behavior on VERT's part is friendly to us, and what kind is not?
And what does it mean to say that VERT "has" a different Ask than the going ask??
Does it mean that he has shares that he won't sell unless that ask comes to where he wants? (And he can do this because of the size of shares he holds... hence the name "market maker"?) Is something like this right?
Again, I'm very new, and have no idea what I'm talking about.
Okay I'm gonna ask again...
Someone help me... who the &%*$& is "VERT"?
Why does it matter?
And what does "VERT has gone to .165 (ask) mean"????
I don't get it. The ask is .04
Help?
I just filled the French Press too!!
But I don't believe in Astrology.
Providence my friend. Providence.
"Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds from the mouth of God."
Okay, someone help me... who the &%*$& is "VERT"?
Why does it matter?
And what does "VERT has gone to .165 (ask) mean"????
I don't get it. The ask is .04
Help?
I'm gonna kick-start this thing if I have to do it ALL BY MYSELF!!
lol.
Seriously though... this news. Wow.
Butterflies are back.
(Damn it man stay cool!!)
Okay, it's kind of creepy how every time I pick up a few shares you guys know about it immediately.
When I think about this Doug Marriott thing (i.e. him being a cousin to the 'main' Marriotts) I can't help but think of that SNL sketch with Will Ferrell and John Goodman, where Goodman is Robert Mondavi, the famous vitner... and Will Ferrel is "Sean Mondavi," his estranged/bastard son who is trying to hock his new vintage.
Goodman: "This isn't wine! (sniffing the drink) It's tequila and 5-Alive and those little marshmallows you put in cocoa."
Ferrel: "...And fish and seawater. (playing toward the camera) It's Shaun Mondavi's finest vintage."
Thanks for the thoughts everyone.
I'm trying to be as skeptical as possible. It's too easy to get oneself hyped up about something like this irrationally, and I know how intoxicating the wishful thinking can be.
So I appreciate the replies.
I'm in for the long term (well, long enough to see if this thing baby's gonna learn to walk) too. I cannot imagine being on the front side of something this big. Of course, that's not a reason to hold out forever. But I'll be watching/waiting.
I want to believe, I really do. But the 'other' possible explanation is that there are just about seven guys in here with serious some serious cognitive dissonance going on.
Don't get me wrong, I think the Doug Marriott thing is interesting, as well as the Marriott discussions in general as well.
But, for one thing, what kind of IMMEDIATE growth can this company accomplish even IF it gets the contracts, when it only has 12 employees? It's not like the Double Tree thing was a "chain" contract. Rather, they installed the sets in ONE Double Tree Hotel. Having the manpower to answer a request for mass installation is a practical impossibility at this point.
And what is the basis of the target speculations??? I hear .20 in one to two months, and $1 to $2 in a year. But that is just talk and wishful thinking without rationale.
What I want to know is what is the BASIS/RATIONALE for some of the extremely optimistic things that have been said in this forum ("Some folks will be on Easy Street for the rest of their lives," and so forth)??
I want to believe. Believe me I do.
But I don't known who any of you are, nor if anything you say is substantially grounded.
HAHaha... What's Level 2?
(I'm a philosophy PhD student... I started investing last week)
Yup, AON, .038
What's L2?
Nathanial,
Sorry man I'm pretty new/green and don't know what "AON" means.
But I was trying to buy a pretty sizable chunk of shares. Definitely upwards of 40K.
This is weird... I am trying to buy right now, but my order is just sitting there for (what seems to me) longer than usual.
Any idea why that would be?
Usually I put an order in and within a couple mins it's filled.
Fair and Aesh -- thanks for the replies. I don't have private message capabilities yet, so just saying thanks here. I really appreciate the help!
Perhaps a teachable moment for me here. This is a penny-stock, so I would have thought that "dips" were the moment to buy. But it just went up a couple percent, and yet you say buy?
AH!
So specifying that it's a "sell" (limit) tells Scott that I'm interested in a bottom floor.
The philosopher in me would just like to point out that this makes a substantial assumption about human psychology/motivation... i.e. WE WANT TO MAXIMIZE PROFITS! =)
You guys are great.
Thank you.
Oh my gosh, you're gonna hate me...
You say: "No, limit orders are stock orders that allow you to buy or sell shares of stock at a pre-set designated price OR better."
But that's my whole question. What does "Better" mean in this context?
I presently own the stock.
It's trading at 1.72 right now.
I want to sell if it gets down to 1.41, to protect myself.
But 1.72 is a BETTER sell than 1.41.
So if you say that it will sell at the pre-set "or better"... well, do you see my fear?
I'm afraid that it will sell IMMEDIATELY at 1.72 (or whatever) because that's "BETTER" than my limit price.
I must be so dense.
Okay, I'll just ask this and then I'll be done... since I don't want to clog our precious TIVU board with my general questions.
Again, if the stock is currently trading at, say, 1.70... and I want to protect myself by setting a stop-loss at 1.41... will setting a LIMIT ORDER for 1.41 do this?
My fear is that it will do the OPPOSITE of this and sell off all the stock immediately because the price is already BETTER than 1.41.
Get it?
Many thanks my tragic greek brother.
I read Scotty's window about Limits. Still confused. I must be an idiot.
Dude can you (or anyone) help me real quick?
I'm on Scottrade, and trying to set a stop-loss for one of my positions. But because it's a Pink-sheet (?) something-or-other I cannot put a stop order on it.
Will a Limit accomplish the same goal? What should I do.
It's trading at like 1.68 right now, and I just want to make sure that if it drops to like 1.42 I sell it off.
I'm just not sure how a Limit works.
I'm scared of entering a Limit order for 1.42 and SC immediately selling off my position because the stock is already above 1.42.
Help?
