Doug C, my post on RB:
Very Odd. I have noticed that, during most of the day, the chart on I-Watch reflects little, if any, inst. trading. Then, late in the day, a large percentage shows up, like today. With an hour to go, there was 0 inst showing on I-Watch. Now it shows 28%. If, in fact, some MMs do report to I-Watch, it is reasonable to expect that they may wait till the end of the day to file a summary report, which could explain this.
As I have noted previously today, the MMs on the bid side were, in fact, institutional reps, for the most part. The question is, what's up with all that???
None of us retail folks know for sure, but we will eventually find out, I suspect.
Anyone ever remember seeing Goldman-Sachs on the bid before today?? They have been there nearly all day, along with Bear-Stearns, TD Waterhouse, & Oppenhiemer.
Hmmmm, Magic
Excellent articulation of an idea which also crossed my mind. Given Taiwan's close association with and monetary support for STP over the last several years, our close connection could prove quite beneficial.
Sir Offer continually suprises me with his very astute moves.
Magic
I guess it would depend on the amount of 3D siesmic that they had available and their level of confidence in that data. If Exxon's new technology is as good as they say, for example, "possible" reserves could have their probability percentage raised from 10% to say 40%, which would bring them very near the "probable" range, thus tipping the scale towards "buy now" vs wait for drill results.
JMHO, Magic
Eturd was the seller all afternoon, didn't see that much this morning. Nice to see nite in the background for a change.
Magic
Have I developed a mental block, or is NITE really completely gone from the board??
I would be very surprised if Soros does NOT own a large chunk of one or more of the trading companies (MMs). If I were he, I certainly would. And given that he has roughly $180,000,000.00 invested in PXD, he would certainly be looking out for their interests, which could well include having several of his like minded (and like monied) friends accumulate 4.99% of ERHE shares with an agreement that they would sell them to _PXD at some previously agreed price on an agreed date, etc. These are folks that make these kinds of deals all the time, legally, for the most part.
Magic
In a word, yes. People like Soros have influence with anyone on this planet they choose. Money is power. Big money is big power.
Fact. Magic
LOL, thanks claude.
Is RB down, or is it just me? TIA
Magic
I am now under water on my average, first time in a long time. This just sucks, plain and simple. Hope the shakerz gang are all gone now.
Long and strong. Magic
Main Entry: neb·u·lous
Pronunciation: 'ne-by&-l&s
Function: adjective
Etymology: Latin nebulosus misty, from nebula
1 : of, relating to, or resembling a nebula : NEBULAR
2 : INDISTINCT, VAGUE
- neb·u·lous·ly adverb
- neb·u·lous·ness noun
My guess would be some of the Shakerz gang exiting.
Magic
And your basis for this belief is???
Regardless, that is proposterous, defying logic.
Magic
I thought we concluded that FAB's shares were restricted. If so, they would have to be shorting against them if they are the seller (which is the most logical conclusion now). Anyone have the absolute answer to the restricted shares question??
Magic
Nite finally left the ASK. Hmmmmm!!!
You did not respond to my request for direct links to your accusations against Coleman.
I Went thru two of the resulting links and did not fine one person named "Coleman", John or otherwise, in either of them. Obviously your search is flawed. Or you have faked it. Either way, it's bogus. Either post a link to some specific information, or shut up.
DQ, keep up the good work!!LOL
I-Watch showing 11% institutional today!!??
http://thomson.finance.lycos.com/lycos/iwatch/cgi-bin/iw_ticker?ticker=ERHE
Balance, come on down!!! Weather is great right now, but expected to heat back up next week (90s).
Give me shout if ya need anything while here.
Magic
Extremely well put together and presented.
Thanks, Magic
Is this a brand new rumor (not counting the one that BM printed a few weeks ago)?? As in just hit the fan at noon today? Or have some been hearing it for a while?
TIA, Magic
The bleeding has stopped, for now. Someone needed to close out a position. Nothing more sinister than that, imo. May have been Cranshire dumping the last of their lot. It does seem to be over tho, which is the good news. Of course, I have been wrong before, lately.
Magic
PS - had a rather tasty crow sandwich for lunch yesterday after my bottom call from last week proved erroneous.
Me too.
OK, I'll bite.
I doubt that she could legally respond to that if she knew the answer (had knowledge of a seller, accumulator, shorter, or whatever) which I doubt she does.
But hey, give it a shot if ya wanna.
Ya'll need to read the JDA infor on their website. Pay particular attentiion to the "profit oil" part.
JMO, Magic
No problem Spec. I find that many folks go deaf when one word or another strikes them wrong, which eliminates any chance of getting your point accross. Valuing your opinions as I do, I wouldn't want people to not hear what you have to offer.
Magic
Spec, I believe I read that the cost recovery was 80%, meaning the JDA would 20% of the oil until cost recovery was complete.
I may have misunderstood that, but I'm pretty sure that is the case, and is also the terms in the new NEEZ bidding.
Magic
Spec, with all due respect for your connections, etc, it might be helpful if you would couch your opinions in somewhat more palatable terms.
Magic
I think some reveiw of the term "profit oil" from the JDA website would be instructional, but I don't have the time right now.
Magic
Anyone else notice that self-proclaimed hedge fund reps Hudson and Pershing were on the bid most of the afternoon? Maybe a little short covering?
Magic (aka Rhode Island Red)
random, I believe you are essentially correct, in that it is the equivalent to a non-recourse note. The kicker is that there is no dilution involved, no interest, and who else would loan us that kind of money with no tangible assets??
Magic
Cock-a-doodle-doooooo!!!!!
I got creamed for using that term:
"feeding frenzy"
You woulda thought the 100K buy would have affected the price:
Rec. Time Action Price Volume
3:43:40 PM Trade 0.395 1350
3:41:08 PM Trade 0.4 500
3:40:22 PM Trade 0.4 2000
3:40:22 PM Trade 0.4 65000
3:40:02 PM Trade 0.4 5000
3:37:26 PM Trade 0.4 10000
3:36:20 PM Trade 0.4 20000
I just had a flash of light.
Suppose you were a large holder of free or nearly free shares of ERHE last spring when the first auction went sour. To hedge your gain, you could short against your shares to lock in at a price in case the whole deal goes south. So then this spring, the round 2 finally happens. Now you need to cover your short to take advantage of the expected pps increase. That would explain the price manipulation and the accumulation, without triggering any sec filing requirement.
It could have also been a naked shorting hedge fund, or even FAB or Offor. Just speculating, but if I held 20 million shares last spring, it is something I would certainly have considered.
Magic
I've changed my mind, again, and am hereby OFFICIALLY calling this the bottom, and predict an increase from here.
Boy aren't you all relieved to here this!! LOL
Print this out and take it to McDonald's and, if ya add a dollar to it, you can get a small cup of coffee.
Magic
balance, if you want something posted here, email me or post on RB with a note to copy here. I have 13 left and won't use them.
