Schrader and car owner Beth Ann Morgenthau lost 25 points apiece, and crew chief David Hyder was fined $25,000 and placed on probation until Dec. 31 for having the roof of the No. 49 Chevrolet too low. The infraction was found during last Sunday's post-race inspection at MIS.
Wallace, owner of the No. 64 Dodge in the Busch series, and his driver, Jeremy Mayfield, were penalized 25 points each, and crew chief Blake Bainbridge was fined $10,000 for having unapproved jacking bolts on the car during opening-day inspection at MIS.
NASCAR also fined crew chief Todd Gordon $5,000 for using an unapproved manifold modification on the Busch series car driven by Brent Sherman, and fined Gene Allnut, crew chief for Kim Crosby, $2,500 for an unapproved third gear transmission ratio.
Another poor performance for Jason Marquis. He went 8 innings allowed 7 runs (all earned) on 8 hits with 3 walks and 2 K's. It was his 7th straight loss and his record falls to 9 wins 13 loses. The Pirates win 10-0.

next game: Tuesday 6:05 pm CT. Marquis (9-12) for St. Louis against Duke (6-0) for Pittsburgh.
What they need it to put some chicanes in around the track like in Formula One. (j/k)
That would be good. We would see more racing and less follow the leader.
That's a good ideal.
And I think they screwed up with the restrictor plates, also.
I agree with you on that Phil. Restrictor plates take a lot of the excitement out of the race. All the cars are in packs following each other waiting for the big accident to happen. And we usually see one big accident every time they race at Talledega. Takes half the cars out.
Tony Stewart and Jimmie Johnson clinch today. The top 22 still have a mathematic chance of making the Chase. Phil we got 4 Fords in the top ten only 2 Chevrolets.

San Francisco wins todays game 4-2. Jason Schmidt allowed four hits in seven shutout innings for the win.
Cardinal third baseman Scott Rolen will have shoulder surgery and miss the rest of the season. Second baseman Mark Grudzielanek was hospitalized overnight with a knee infection and will not travel with the Cardinals for the start of a four-game series with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
16 games are left at Busch Stadium, the Cardinals will play in a new stadium in 06.
next game: Mon. 6:05 pm CT. Mulder (14-6) for Cards against Fogg (6-8) for Pirates.
I agree with you PalmBeachAJ. Bush is one of the biggest crybabies imo. Pretty good race today. The Fords should have done better though. Stewart another top 5. He's going to be hard to catch.
I read your post too late or I might have taken you up on it. Not a good day for Mark Martin. He he hurt himself by missing the pits. He should have picked up some points on Wallace today. Stays in 5th in the Chase though.
Matt Morris wins his 100th career game going 6 innings allowing 2 runs on 5 hits as Cards beat Giants 4-2. RBI's for Mabry, Pujols, Grudzielanek, and Molina.
Larry Walker returned to the lineup he had been on the DL since July 23.
Manager Tony La Russa continues to inch closer to his mentor, Sparky Anderson, on the all-time managerial wins list. Heading into Saturday's game, La Russa (2,191) was just three games away from tying Anderson (2,194) for third all-time.
Former Cardinals catcher Mike Matheny, now with San Francisco, received his National League Championship ring before the game on Saturday. He was greeted by most of the Cardinals in the dugout. The Busch Stadium crowd stood and cheered for nearly a minute in Matheny's honor. He played for the Cardinals from 2000-04.
next game: Sun 1:15 pm CT. Schmidt (9-6) for Giants against Suppan (12-8) for Cards.
St. Louis comes from behind and scores 5 runs in the bottom of the ninth to win 5-4 over San Francisco. Yadier Molina hit a three run homer and Jim Edmonds later hit a two run double that gave the Cardinals the win.
next game Saturday 12:20pm CT: Correia (2-3) for Giants against Morris (12-5) for Cards.
He's always good on the big tracks. I saw him win once at Talladega. I believe it was in 97.
Practice speeds for Michigan. Dale Jarrett fastest.

That should make Phil happy. Another generation of Wallaces. We got Matt Martin working his way up the ladder too. (g)
Arizona wins the third game of the series 9-2. Jason Marquis gave up 6 runs on 10 hits and 4 walks. Marquis imo is making it easy for LaRussa to pick a four man rotation in the post season. He is 9-12 on the season and 1-9 with a 5.57 ERA in his last 12 starts.
Catcher Yadier Molina was activated tonight. He received a 25-second applause in his first at bat tonight.
The news is not good on Scott Rolen. He may need surgery again on his left shoulder. It would require a six-month rehab and end his chances at returning this year.
Walter Brennan (test)
The Cardinals take the first two from Arizona. 8-2 last night and 5-0 tonight. Mark Mulder threw a 5 hit shutout, his second of the season. OF John Mabry had a two run homer. OF So Taguchi had two hits and is 18 for 36 during a 10 game hitting streak.
St. Louis starters lead the majors with 65 wins, 10 more than the second-place White Sox.
Catcher Yadier Molina took batting practice today. He should be back in the lineup soon. Manager Tony La Russa said Molina likely will be activated without a rehab assignment, noting that his defense is more important to the team.
Two other injured Cardinals, Larry Walker and Reggie Sanders, took batting practice for the second time in three days. Walker hit several home runs and a succession of line drives and La Russa said Walker also could return from the disabled list in the next few days.
The fourth injured regular, third baseman Scott Rolen, has a more uncertain future. La Russa said Rolen, on the DL with a shoulder injury since July 22, has good days and bad days.
next game Thur. 7:10pm CT. Vargas (6-6) for Arizona against Marquis (9-11) for St. Louis.
Thanks Old Drummerman. Hope you win it.
I was just listening to Patsy Cline. This must be country night. That's good.
Thanks. It was just luck. Probably won't do any good next time. But I will give it another try.
I've always liked Patty Loveless. Nice song.
American Red Cross
Or a soccer player.
It's too bad Arkansas didn't get all these guys. 2 went to Arkansas, 2 to Florida, 1 to Notre Dame. Why would anyone want to go to Florida when they could play at Arkansas?
With a name like Mustain he should be faster than Matt Jones.
That would be Mitch Mustain of Springdale. Don't know a lot about him. The paper says he is one of the most coveted quarterbacks in the country. Four other Springdale players are going to play college football too.
I guess that Loren Roberts pick came through for me. (g)
Hey ddf. I never thought I'd win this thing, just got lucky with 2 of my picks. I had a lot of fun. Thanks to everyone who put on this contest.
Poor performance for Matt Morris allowing 11 hits and 5 runs in a 5-4 loss to the Cubs.
Catcher Molina recovering from broken bones in his left hand could be activated or sent on a rehabilitation assignment in a few days. Outfielders Walker and Sanders both on the DL took batting practice today.
next game Tue 7:10pm CT. Halsey (8-8) for Arizona against Suppan (11-8) for the Cards.
Edit:
The Cards and Cubs will face each other 7 more times in September
My team (Mickelson and Love) has collapsed today. Not sure what has happened to Mickelson he had a three shot lead early on.

He may be joining his brother Ward soon.
That's true.

I had forgotten about those two.
