The most recent OCAST award announced July 2nd 2013 was 300K and the previous award announced back on Dec. 9th ,2008 was for $299,932..The next funding we receive I would have to agree with Clonefan, will received successfully this year and will make a very positive impact indeed ..The best is yet to come!!!
Not that im aware of..Read the July 2 2013 news and if you wish OCAST is listed in the phone book or call investor relations at 3Dicon...I believe they only received 300K from OCAST.Its a reimbursable type grant I believe. The cost of materials and salaries paid by 3Dicon that are reimbursable as part of the grant are reimbursed to 3Dicon.We don't get 600K from them.300K was the entire reward amount.Half of Hakkis 12,000K salary is payed by the grant as we have seen in recent info put out by 3Dicon.Not sure exactly how that part of the process works.
In the July 2,2013 news release Cornell Lee Cross gave 3 reasons why 3Dicon received the highest possible rating and was awarded 300K. The number 3 reason was based on as he put it because of the , "HUGE POTENTIAL of the business and its corresponding impact on the states economy ." I believe 3Dicon and will be very successful in receiving the funding they need.I HAVE NO WORRIES!!
YES most definitely and that has already been proved...3Dicon sought out funding from OCAST followed by many who posted they would never receive the funding..Well ,as we all know 3Dicon received 300,000 dollars of funding still being used based on the potential C-Space could have.3Dicon finished first with the highest possible rating out of 42 applicants.According to the experts who choose the winners ,potential had everything to do with it.
Great article on 3D medical imaging LightSpeed..The article points out that 3D medical imaging is projected to be a 2.6 billion dollar industry by 2020 and that MRI and CT represent the LARGEST market segment. As we all know 3Dicons NIH grant request is entitled ," 3D volumetric Display of Neurological Data Provided by MRI IMAGING.Like clonefan said ,"Connect the dots".This is not hard to do.If people read the article they can see a list of companies given in the article that are involved with 3D imaging. But most important are the companies listed that have MRI technology( though C-Space can be used in medical imaging with Ultra sound ,x-ray and CT as well) of which images are still viewed off a 2D/3D screen type formats. All of these companies could one day potentially benefit from C-Space so they can view their 3D data collected by their respective MRI products in a real 3D volumetric image. Some of the companies listed in the article that have MRI products are GE Healthcare ,The Esaote Group, Phillips Health and Hitachi Aloka Medical LTD.Samsung Medison who sells Ultra sound systems is listed in the article as well.Great potential for C-Space which I believe is arriving at just the right time .Great info LightSpeed!!
Funding before the conference would be a good shot in the arm for 3Dicon going into the SPIE conference. It would be good for the people looking at us to see we have not only Schott on board with us,which we didn't have May 13th ,2013 ,at the last conference 3Dicon attended, but fed fundinging behind us as well.Im excited about the future for 3Dicon.
Its the positive connections 3dicon could make at a huge conference such as this that could lead to something especially since C-Space looks to be much more matured than when Hakki presented at the SPIE conference in 2013 on C-Space.Those connections 3Dicon could make wont be known by us immediately if it were to happen but could lead to good things.
The U.S Airforce Research Lab is presenting on ,Sterioscopic 3D Displays at the conference in session 3 at 9:30 am.I can see why 3dicon stated that our meeting with the Airforce was very successful since they are obviously focused on 3D display technologys and now 3Dicon has possibly an opportunity to get involved with the Airforce with C-Space, a Volumetric 3D display technology which I believe would be much more effective than 3D stereoscopic displays. The best is yet to come!!
Hakki Refai authored a publication on May 17th 2013 at the SPIE conference titled C-Space high resolution volumetric display. Hakki has authored several papers at previous SPIE conferences.Im sure he will do the same at this conference. 3dicons always gone to the SPIE conferences to present what they have.Since the last presentation I would bet Hakki will show hes made great progress with C-Space.
Great news out today on 3Dicon attending the SPIE conference in April. That will give us more exposure .Great news!!
Not trying to argue with anyone ,not many people get excited before something happens because they cant fully see it ,the future is now and 3dicon and Hakki have done something very special here with C-Space.Schott knows ,they can see the future here and are going for it!!! Ilove it!
C-Space is patented and has great value..no one else has done this ..who missed the meeting this summer..we just need the glass I believe Schott will get this done ,no worries there..Doug said in Medical Divice Daily article that all we need is the glass and C-Space can easily be put to work..go back and read his over view in the medical divice daily article..great things ahead!!
VISORS AND HEAD GEAR ARE A TRUE CRUTCH IN THE 3D WORLD..THEY USE THEM BECAUSE THEY CANT FIGURE OUT A WAY TO LOOK AT SOMETHING IN A REAL A 3D VOLUMETRIC FORMAT WITH OUT THEM ,WITH 3DICONS C SPACE YOU CAN VIEW A REAL 3D VOLOUMETRIC OBJECT WITH NO GLASSES ,VISORS OR HEAD GEAR..THANK GOODNESS ITS FINALLY HERE WHILE ALL THESE BIG COMPANIES ARE STILL PUTTING OUT PRODUCTS THAT WILL BE OLD GENERATION TECHNOLOGY SOMEDAY...I SEE A LOT OF HEAD GEAR AND VISORS LAYING AROUND THE HOUSE SOMEDAY FOR THE KIDS TO PLAY WITH, " HEY MOMMY WHAT IS THIS FOR ?' OH HONEY, JUST THROW THAT OLD THING AWAY,PEOPLE USED TO HAVE TO USE THESE OLD THINGS TO LOOK AT SOMETHING TO BE ABLE SEE IT IN 3D LOL JUST THROW THAT AWAY, THAT MAKES ME FEEL OLD HAVING THOSE OLD GOGGLES AND HEAD SETS AND VISORS AROUND" ...3DICON IS WAY AHEAD OF THE GAME IN THIS ASPECT...WAIT AND SEE!!!!!!!!!!!HOW DID THAT 3D SONY TV DO ,DO YOU HAVE ONE LOL..PEOPLE DONT LIKE TO WEAR HEAD GEAR IF THEY DONT HAVE TO ,AND IN THE GAMING WORLD THEY WOULDNT WEAR IT IF THEY DIDNT HAVE TO AND WITH C SPACE THIER IS NO HEAD GEAR AND THATS JUST ONE REASON C SPACE WILL BE SO SUCCESSFUL ..HEAD GEAR IS FOR FOOTBALL ,YOUR EYES ALONE WILL BE ABLE TO VIEW THE REAL VOLUMETRIC 3D IMAGE WITH C SPACE ...NO HEAD GEAR AND A TRUE VOLUMETRIC 3D IMAGE IN HIGH RESOLUTION THANK GOODNESS FINALLY!!!
HOLOLENS ISNT CAPAPLE OF PRODUCING REAL TIME VOLUMETRIC 3D IMAGES ..HOLOLENS ISNT MADE TO BE ABLE TO VIEW ALL THE 3D DATA THAT IS BEING CAPTURED IN THE WORLD TODAY AND VIEWED IN A REAL 3D VOLUMETRIC FORMAT.HOLOLENS IS A 3D HOLOGRAPHIC COMPUTER( FULLY UNTETHERED) FOR GOODNESS SAKE. IF THESE BIG COMPANIES WANT A C SPACE TYPE TECHNOLOGY WELL THIS ONE IS PATENTED AND NO ONE ELSE HAS ONE...THEY WOULD HAVE TO BUY C SPACE IF THEY WANT A TRUE VOUMETRIC 3D IMAGE TYPE TECHNOLOGY THAT WORKS TO PROPERLY VIEW ALL THE 3D DATA OUT THERE...THERE ARNT ANY AT THIS POINT..HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!
Beek..Microsoft Hololens is a Holograghic COMPUTER that requires a headset...Study it out and youll see that this is not anything like C-Space and Microsoft doesn't have a C-Space type technology in their sites....No competition for the PATENTED C-Space tech 3Dicon has...Not to many people like wearing headsets except for gaming...Tech review guys make this point load and clear...tHE Sony 3D TV was a flop because of the head gear you have to wear...Micorsofts Hololens best fit for gaming.Who wants to give up their lab top and key board and have to put on goggles and use an air keyboard to use their computer??? Are you using one now? Sure you are because its the best way right now..Hololens is a cool nifty new tech but NO COMPITION FOR C SPACE!!!!!!!!!
That would contradict what a recent news release just stated..It made it clear that the NIH grant money award announcement would be announced before June..Therefore it could be announced in May which is obviously after April.I believe without a doubt 3Dicon will get funding this year.Doug said there was a possibility we would get money last September which means its obviously possible to get money later in the year much later than April.Government funding does not dry up in April.Doug said last june that at that time (2014) there was plenty of Gov money at that time ,again that was after April. This is a year long funding opportunity.April can come and go and there will be plenty of money for 3Dicon to get their hands on.
I AGREE!!!
I AGREE !!!
Genex Technologies ,Physical Optics Corp.,Technest Inc and ACT Research Corp also received SBIR money in 1997 and 1998 for trying to develop Volumetric Three Dimentional Imaging. They all received from 70 to 100k for SBIR Phase 1 work. With the latest technology developments the last serveral years 3Dicon has been able to create C-Space which is now past the proof of concept stage.Martin Keating started his company around 1998 at the time these guys listed here were trying to develop a real three Dimentional volumetric display before all the technology needed was out there to do it.Martin Keatings timing could not have been more perfect unbeknown to him at the time. The SRA agreement with O.U. in 2003 could not have come at a more perfect time for the technology needed for Hakki to pull this off was coming to the world at just the right time for Hakki to create C-Space.Amazing just simply amazing from this perspective.Having the right University ,the right Scientist on board and the needed technology all came together at the right time.Beautiful just beautiful .I believe Schott will do their part in successfully identifying the right glass for C-Space .The best is yet to come. This is getting very exciting indeed for someone who has followed this for 16 years now and I believe great things are to come for 3Dicon and Schott Defence.Have a great day!!
Blu..you said on 8-17-14 that in 6 weeks it would be all over with out funding and that nothing had been submitted..Well that was 5 months ago and 3dicon is still here and we have proof there have been submissions and on top of that Doug has expanded his roll to VP of technology and business development very simply because he sees a good future for 3Dicon. BE PATIENT ,the BEST IS YET TO COME FOR TDCP!! JUST A MATTER OF TIME!!
In reality Microsofts Hololens in not capable of creating a 3D volumetric image as C-Space is capable of doing..3Dicons C-Space is far more advanced in 3D volumetric imaging. Watch the video of the Hololens...Its a holographic computer using headphones for goodness sakes. No where near the capabilities of C-Space. It is very clear to see this if you take a look at this cool HEADSET HOLOGRAPHIC technology..Have a great day!!!!!!!!!!! C-Space does not require headset or viewing glasses like the Hololens has to have to see their images. If you take the headset off there is no image in front of you is there ,the C-Space image is accually in the room and can be viewed in a real volumetric 3d viewing experience by ALL the people in the room WITH NO GLASSES OR HEADSET ,NO HEADSET AND THE HOLOLENS VIEWER IS CAPABLE OF VIEWING NOTHING PERIOD LOL. FAR INFERIOR TECHNOLOGY TO C-SPACE AND DID YOU NOTICE ITS NOT BEING BILLED TO VIEW ALL THE 3D DATA BEING CAPTURED IN THE WORLD TODAY WHICH IS PRECISELY WHAT C-SPACE IS CAPABLE OF DOING. NO CONTEST HERE .YOU CANNT WALK AROUND THIER IMAGES IN THE VIEWING EXPERIANCE THE WAY YOU WILL WITH C SPACE,YES YOU CAN WALK IN A CIRCLE WITH THOSE HEAD SETS ON BUT THEY DO NOT PRODUCE A VOLUMETRIC IMAGE YOU CAN AND MANY AT THE SAME TIME ,WALK AROUND TO VIEW FROM ALL SIDES...watch their video ,cool technology ,but not even in c spaces rearwindow ,we are far more advanced with a real volumetric 3D viewing experience ..Again ,have a great day!!
It took Alex Kipman of Microsoft and the inventor of Hololens, 7 years to get where hes at now and finally got to display his Hololens invention January the 21st 2015. Hakki ,with 3dicon ,the inventor of C-Space has worked for 9 years on his project and looks to be very close to maturing C-Space to the point of commercialization.I believe C-Space will be a superior 3D viewing experience to the Hololens by Microsoft though they obviously are different types of 3D. C-Space a volumetric glasses free 3D experience and Microsofts Hololens a holographic computer headset required Holographic ( fully untethered ) 3D experience, both of which I believe are going to have success in their respected applications.
Hololens by Microsoft is the 1st fully untethered holograghic computer and is a cool headset 3D experience that Microsoft is calling the next PC with a 3rd processor called HPU that Microsoft invented , the CPU and GPU are the other 2 processors. The HPU holographic processing unit gives you the ability to understand where your looking ,understand your gestures, understand your voice - it gives you the ability to spacially map the world around you and you can move with the headset on with no wires attached. They are saying that Hololens should be able to run any app that windows 10 PC or phone can.Virtual computing with virtual holograms are the experience here. But you still are in need of the headset to see what your looking at.Check out the video by the creator of the Hololens on line to see it yourself. 3Dicons C-Space technology uses no headsets or glasses to properly view the 3D data being collected in the world today as a real 3D volumetric image . The more 3D technology I see coming out helps me to see how far advanced a C-Space glasses free ,head-set free, 3D viewing experience will be.Hats off to Hakki in what he has created. The best is yet to come for 3Dicon !!
Psst...Doug took the position with 3Dicon because he obviously likes the way the future looks for 3Dicon where accomplishing their goals is concerned. The fact that Doug took this position speaks for itself..Hes not the kind of guy who would plug into something in his line of work unless he saw something that we havnt seen yet.,..Cant wait to see what it is!!! He must believe 3Dicon is going to get the funding they need for him to do his job or he wouldn't have taken the job as VP of Technologhy and Business.Have a great day!!
Schott is part of a huge performance culture and we partnered with them and after almost a year we are still in this partnership with them!! We are lasting and we will last ...Just the beginning of great things to come for 3DICON!!
No money Doug?? Hank Aaron when he hit the home run to set the record also had more strike outs than anyone and the same for Babe Ruth..Doug im sure has had some strike outs in his day, everyone has, but I believe Doug will not just get us a few hits but some home runs as well to get us where we need to go.No worries here .The best is yet to come for 3DICON!!!!!!!!!!!
The Trimble UX5 Imaging Rover captures a series of high resolution images during flight using Photogrammetry software. They collect data , some of it 3D DATA,but still view the old way ,on a 2D /3D screen. They would greatly benefit from a 3D voloumetric viewing experiance where they could properly view the data they collect in real volumetric 3D..C-Space is being created to properly view 3D data in a real 3D format..Have a good day !!
Seeing will be believeing and help the people understand the difference between a real 3D volumetric viewing experience and a phoney 3D volumetric image..Lets put it this way, when I look upon someone standing right in front of me they don't disappear at certain angles as I walk around them nor do they disappear when I look down upon them from above and they are not projected off a 2D screen that involves vibrations so they appear to be in front of me in a real volumetric 3D format but in reality are not a full 3D image that disappears at certain angles which is proof its not a real 3D volumetric image..Seeing a C-Space demonstration is what will help everyone of us to differentiate a real volumetric 3D image from a fabricated one and I think 3Dicon will be successful in doing just that.Thats what we are all waiting for.
Voxiebox is NOT a REAL 3D volumetric display..It only carries the appearance of a 3D image but is no more a real 3D volumetric image than a 2D screen has the capability of presenting...AGAIN Voxiebox is NOT a real Volumetric 3D viewing experience even though they and others would like to attach that definition to it...The image disappears at certain angles ...Get real...LOL
Voxiebox ..Look at the article at ..extremetech.com and you can see voxiebox is a 3d viewing experience with not only poor resolution but operates with a projected image onto a screen that VIBRATES up and down at a rapid speed in which the rapid vibration ALLOWS THE IMAGE TO APPEAR AS THOUGH ITS A 3D ASSETT..The article says that if you look at the display base head on the image DISAPPEARS.Your supposed to look at it from an overhead angle to see the image...Voxiebox is old news with very poor resolution (according to the article) and is a joke and in no way in the same ball park with 3Dicons C-Space technology...Lets get real here..Have a great new year!!!!!!!!!
You got it..thats exactly what I said!! There are no volumetric 3d technologies on the market that can properly view all the 3d data out there today..That is the goal with C-Space and I believe 3dicon will successfully be the first to do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There are in reality not 1 3d volumetric technology on the market today...C-Space is the first of its kind...That was made very clear at the meeting this summer in Tulsa. You might want to reference the slide show and the audio of the meeting and you can see this is made very clear. The 3dicon management team gave us a presentation of the competition at the meeting and there is NO COMPANIES thriving in with 3d volumetric 3d....NO ONE..If there is I challenge anyone to make a presentation here on the hub and show us the companies and there 3d volumetric technology companies products..There is a big confusion as to what real 3d volumetric imaging is and ive seen many 3d technologies talked about here at the hub that appear to look like a real volumetric image but in reality are not...I believe 3dicon will be the first company to have a real 3d volumetric product on the market..As of now there are NONE.
Post # 26644 also stated in this AR14-012 that " As the exclusive licensee of this 3D display technology that is being developed funded by OPTECKS,... 3Dicon has never said they gave up there rights to licence their 3D display technology ( C-Space) which is what it appears this post is leading one to believe.Read the post its all a fabrication that seems to have been posted to mislead investors and shareholders of 3Dicon...
Notice in the post #26644 were it says ,FROM AR14-012 ..read the second paragragh at the bottom were it says , "The project builds upon prior research and development of 3D display systems by Optecks". That sentence comes from the a real AR132-019 about 3dicon award from the OARS grant and the real sentence reads from the AR132-019 like this, "The project builds upon prior research and development of prototype systems by 3DICON CORPORATION "( not the word OPTECKS which was inserted into that sentence from a fabricated AR14-012... There needs to be an investigation of this and whos putting out this information incorrectly and what are there motives ..
This is the AR132-012 I posted but I have not found the AR14-012 that was presented in post #26644.Does it exist or was it fabricated???There needs to be an investigation for sure of what might be a fabricated document concerning the company OPTECKS a company based out of the Tulsa area.
jimk1..I posted the AR132-019..Read the language of this and then read the AR14-012 that was made up on post #26644 and you can see how parts of AR132-019 (a legit document about the OCAST grant 3dicon recieved )was tied into a fabricated AR14-012 document about Optecks. I would assume its illegal to fabricate what is to be passed off as a legit document concerning someones company, I don't know for sure ,but it looks very shaddy indeed. There needs to be an investigation of the language being presented in this AR14-012 document and find out who created this up.
FY 2013.2 OKLAHOMA APPLIED RESEARCH SUPPORT
SUMMARIES OF PROJECTS RECOMMENDED FOR FUNDING
PI: Hakki Refai
Project Title: Ultra High-Resolution Volumetric 3D Display
AR132-019
Organization: 3DIcon
Rank: 1
Type: Accelerated
Funding:
Year 1: $150,000
Year 2: $150,000
Year 3: $0
Total: $300,000

3DIcon Corporation will provide the matching funds for this OARS grant. As the exclusive licensee of this 3D display technology that was developed by the University of Oklahoma under a series of Sponsored Research Agreements that were funded by 3DIcon, the company is highly motivated to commercialize this technology as quickly as possible in order to see a return on this investment. Because 3DIcon is a publically traded company without significant revenues and a small market capitalization due to lack of significant revenue, there is additional motivation to commercialize this technology / generate revenue from this technology to provide the market with metrics (revenue, earnings & growth) from which to more appropriately value the company and therefore maximize shareholder value.
Research
The goal of the proposed project is to improve the performance of key components of a static volumetric 3D display and to subsequently produce a commercially viable product prototype that can be rapidly transitioned to commercial production. The two components are the image chamber and the optical and electronic subsystems that control the image creation process. For the image chamber, materials and fabrication processes must be identified and developed to scale the chamber up to 26 cm3 and also to produce cheaply and easily chambers of different sizes.. For image generation, nanoparticles capable of highly efficient upconversion of infrared light to visible light must be designed and optimized so that the image is visible under room lighting and the power requirements of the display are minimized. The image chamber will consist of the nanoparticles dispersed in an index-matched polymer. The optical and electronic subsystems must be improved to create images that fill the image chamber, have a voxel (volume pixel) size of 0.25 mm3, a resolution of nearly 800 million voxels, and a refresh rate of 30 Hz to provide flicker free viewing. At project's end, the resultant display will possess capabilities suitable for applications in computer and data visualization and in novel human-computer interfaces. To create the targeted 3D display, several objectives must be met. The first objective is to identify and optimize highly efficient two-photon, two-frequency upconversion particles to provide increased image intensity for lower optical driving power. The size, doping concentration, and core/shell morphology of Er:NaYF4 and similar nanoparticles will be varied systematically and the efficiency evaluated. The second objective is to synthesize and optimize polymers with high optical clarity that are index matched to the nanoparticles to minimize losses in resolution and efficiency due to scattering. The combination of polymer host and nanoparticle efficiency that produces the brightest and clearest image will be selected. The third objective is to upgrade the key optical, electronic, and software systems that control image creation to achieve the targeted resolution and image size. The project will use a combination of experimental research and theoretical modeling to meet the stated goals and objectives. The project builds upon prior research and development of prototype systems by 3DIcon Corporation.
Economic Benefit
3DIcon firmly believes that the successful commercialization of this exciting new 3D display technology that was originally developed and patented by the University of Oklahoma (OU) will have far reaching positive economic impact on the State of Oklahoma by 1) further establishing the State of Oklahoma as having the talent, infrastructure and workforce necessary for high technology companies to be started and become successful, 2) attracting additional high tech talent and investment to the state based on the success of 3DIcon thereby creating a "snowball" effect, 3) attracting more research funding to OU based on the commercial success of the research that led to the development of this 3D display technology, and 4) draw more federal government and international attention to the state and with that the potential for more federal funding and international investment. From another perspective, the successful commercialization of the this technology by 3DIcon will provide the following direct economic benefits for the State of Oklahoma that include 1) the influx of over $10M of capital from public, private and government sources that will be
required to fund the commercialization effort plus the working capital requirements of the company until profitability, 2) the employment of over 70 people by 2020 including dozens of Oklahomans as well as the relocation of a similar number of experienced management and technical people to Oklahoma from the top high tech areas in the US, Europe and Asia. Most of these relocated professionals will buy homes, pay property taxes and all 3DIcon employees will pay income and sales taxes, 3) once successful 3DIcon will be generating tens of millions (or more) in earnings and paying corporate income taxes to the state.

Clonefan..k741 post # 26644 giving information from an AR14-012 is a fabricated statement.Notice the second paragraph of the so called AR14-012 is from a ligit AR132-019 from the FY 2013.2 Oklahoma Applied Research Support Summeries of Projects Recommended for Funding. The AR132-019 is legit and lists the winners of the OCAST Grant money starting with #1) 3dicon and their 300,000 dollar award. You can google the AR132-012 and read the language of this statement .The first paragraph of this AR14-012 is a made up document followed by the in part accurate 2nd paragraph from the legit AR132-019 but read the last sentence of that paragraph is fabricated " The project builds upon prior research and development of 3dicon display systems by Optecks. You might also google ...AR14-012 and see what comes up..You can see this is associated with a DHS document( AR14-012) from Oregon ,a document ( AR14-012) from a Mass .Gov website and a document from the HIH website ( very clever )for a document titled AR14-012 about something to do lupus, arthritis and other autoommune conditions. There is no association with an AR14-012 and Optecks or 3dicon out there...Very clever on the part of this erson on how they fabricated all of this to start a scandal...Watch this post get deleted very quickly!!!
And remember Hakki gets paid to do this work $12,000,half from Ocast money and Half from 3dicon. Maybe Hakki sets up business in his name in which you have to have a name for your company( Optecks) and im perhaps there are LEGAL Tax benefits for incorporating yourself. Are any of you out there that know enough about taxes that see this as an option that maybe Hakki could have choose for himself in this case.. Im sure all this is being done legit and legally ,come on,noboby as smart as Hakki is going to do any thing that is not right or not in the best interest of everyone involved with 3dicon...
Email the management of 3dicon and ask them to comment on this...
