Appearing it, at least...
;)
Nice work, Doc. I will use it too. Thanks!
Not in this case, Josh Taylor, I am just speaking in general to all those who may not know they exist. I know I am not talking to one right now, but if I am wrong, enjoy the irony and have a nice cold brew on me!! ;)
As far as the float goes, I agree 100% with you - no one but Appletree knows for sure, and from the sound of the PRs they themselves might not know!! I don't think spouting guesses adds any value to anyone's investment DD.
This is a total lotto play - we all know it. I have been in for quite some time, and I have already gotten my bit out. The remaining shares are riding free. But I remember Ellis, and the history is not good, so who knows how much better we will fare - only time will tell.
I agree that questioning is smart investing - there are just some who seem to want to appear like they are bantering when in reality they are making money off of people's emotions. Just a warning to those who may not know.
Oh,and I am over the age of seven, since you asked... ;)
-Neb
And I third it!!!
Please, everyone, don't forget that paid bashers are paid by the number of responses they get. If we do not want to encourage this kind of behavior, simply don't respond. Or put them on ignore - don't ry to be the hero as we all know who is bashing. Let the newbies rise or fall on their own DD - they will learn as we did. When they have to show their company that they only got one or two people to "argue" with them in only three or four posts, I am betting their manager is not going to assign them any more companies to bash. However, if the banter is there, and we all try to shut them up, we are only feeding their wallets and increasing the likelihood that they will remain there.
Just my 2 and a half cents...
-Neb
And we thank you for taking charge and keeping those who needed it in line. Indeed there were some children there, as there likely will be, but those who remained for the last part seemed to be a bit more level headed, except for maybe the "I need to talk to the sales department" guy...
Hearing Rafael speak was quite educational, and his demeanor was indicative of a high end, professional company with little arrogance or dishonesty. All these things contribute to a solid investment and a bright future for the company as a whole.
I am proud too, rebelgirl, and I think between us all we have something that will keep on growing in the very near and the distant future.
Let's keep it together and allow this young man to establish himself in the global marketplace, and keep our post factual and kind. Nothing wrong with disputing and arguing, as that is what intelligent people do, but the exaggerations - on both sides - should be kept to a minimum. Maybe we can set an example for other boards in pinkie land, as I would say most of them need some serious clean up due to those who need to grow up.
Well done everyone! Let's ride!
-Neb
Doubled up - another 2000 shares. Thanks to the weak ones!
Thanks, Rafael, for doing your job and following through with what you said last night. I had no doubt that he would do exactly what he said he would.
Again, thanks for the shares!!
Long and strong, and looking to a green future!
-Neb
With a name like DrFeelgood, I highly doubt it. Maybe it's just a dry spell...
;)
-Neb
Here you go - this should help.

Right you are, Sir!
After she died, I moved to an apartment here in New Jersey - from a house in the middle of the woods in western New York state. No running room - heck, no backyard or sidewalks for that matter. No place for a dog. People are always telling me to get another one. It just wouldn't be fair to the dog here. When I get done in this god-awful state and move back home I will. For now, her memory keeps it alive for me. But as you say, the void persists...
-Neb
Great stuff, plastipunk. A valiant effort by at least one Senator...
-Neb
Lowman - Kasha had the sweetest, most polite personality. In fact, I don't like to even use that word because it has the word "person" in it. She was nicer than any person I have ever met. Perhaps the breed, perhaps her soul, perhaps a little of both. Either way she is truly missed.
I like reading this board - I know I have said that already. But after a brutal day pretending to work and actually reading the boards and trading shares, it is so nice to stop here and relax, read some jokes and see iblong's pooch smiling at me. Today was one of those...
And thanks for the insight into some great companies on the other boards.
-Neb
You kidding? I wish I COULD buy more! Sell? What do you mean, sell?
-Neb
I wondered how he was going to handle that one.
Well done, Rafael!
-Neb
Thanks for doing it! Interesting information.
I just happened to be on the Yahoo board to see who is there, and wouldn't you know it - only the bashing public - pinetar, tov88 (I think that was it). They are still accusing me of being way to happy and somehow that must mean I am not a real investor and maybe I am one of the hired thugs or something, I don't know. I do sometimes wonder about who I am, but I like to save that for my meditation time or when I am just down on the world...
I must say, however, that it is nice to be noticed. My ego has been sufficiently stroked.
Price issues today, for sure. It sounds trite, but I am going to get my chance to double up on my shares - finally. Holding something for a long time (like I need to tell any of you this) is a tough job that only the strong and faithful can handle. The pinetars of the world do not understand. Yes I am new to investing with real money, but my practice years and education have certainly taught me that outward appearances can be deceiving.
Heck - even pinetar might be a nice person without that computer to hide behind!!
-Neb
Right on, Temp!
Smart investors look at many aspects of a company. The facts of finance and marketing are only one component. The PEOPLE involved in a company is also important. In fact, it is the PEOPLE in a company that ultimately decide how that marketing is done, and how the finances are handled. So to see a professional, seemingly honest and humble man talk about his company and its history and its potential future in this fashion - even with rude people on the line - I can do nothing but state again how I wish I could afford more shares. Even with 2K I will be making something, and I do know that any green is good green.
Um, even back in college that was true, but sometimes it was brown and seedy...
Seriously, he was top drawer even with the unprofessional start. I am glad to own a tiny piece of the company.
Look forward to the ride this week!
-Neb
I agree. He was composed and professional, which is more than I can say for most. His demeanor was one of a person with experience and humility. He was able to say, I don't know without any BS answers. Honesty - what a concept.
We must wait for the information this week, and he did indeed say there will be much information in the PRs. In fact, I do recall his reaction to one questioner after being bombarded and he said he would put it out and mumbled "THAT'S for sure..."
I look forward to this week and I wish I were a person holding more than 2K shares.
-Neb
Here is a post I did earlier. I did not realize you could hear my typing, but I left my mute off for the moment to try to "rope in" in few "persistent callers". My apologies if this bothered any callers/listeners. The information is there somewhat, but it is not clean and I did not hear the entire "post-call". Perhaps Rebelgirl could clean it up and add/correct anything in there for the rest. (Sorry Rebelgirl - I did not mean to put this on you alone - ANYONE can add the information - you already do a GREAT job...)
*ahem*

I am still on the call, and the people who are left over are having a discussion about who the auditor is. Someone who claims that they are "close to the project" say that they are using Earnst & Young. I do not necessarily believe who they claim they are, although he is sounding somewhat legit.
70 - 75 million shares claimed by this guy.
New transfer agent he says.
Waiting for a DTC report - latest Friday - sent to the TA so they can attest to the float.
A few weeks away from having E&Y auditor. "within the next ten days" they will have a share structure.
People are asking this guy questions like he is a part of the business.
Sorry for the lack of grammar - I am typing as I hear it.
Competitors
120 million to try to develop sleep disorder
Rafael back on!!!
Next week he says - agrees with other guy - he might be legit then. Company is NOT selling stock, says Rafael.
question - why are you public?
Rafael: to raise the first money to deliver the first systems
Rebelgirl jumps in to take control.
Rebelgirl: who is the audit firm? is it E&Y?
Rafael: Can not confirm - wait for the PR - more than one of the "big four" working on the audit. I will ask them if I can release their name.
Rebelgirl: people were expecting a material announcement...what is the material news?
Rafael: Will see that tomorrow morning. The press release...
RG: So tomorrow there will be a material announcement?
Rafael: It will be int he PR tomorrow.
Listener: asked about NITE shorting
Rebelgirl: NITE and UBS high volume, etc....typical shorting, etc...
Listener: is there a need to dilute?
Answer: no - answered before - not selling stock.
Listener: what did you pay for Argo? cash or stock or both?
Rafael: answer will be given to you this week - by the end of the week - done by ECN holding and can't release until the PR
Will this increase the share structure?
R: Probably not
Question: How much would the system cost?
Rafael: 4,500 bucks for the complete system. From 35 per month to 200 bucks per month
Listener: asked who the first guy was and how come if Rafael could not say who the auditor was then how come this guy could.
Rafael could not say who that was.
Listener: Share structure?
Rafael: Will be released this week. (he even said "that's for sure")
This man is being abused. Someone just apologized for the collective. Rafael is repeating that all our questions will be answered in PRs very soon.
He is offering to answer any questions directly if we do not get our answers from the regular sources.
Repeating questions now - hanging up.
Again, sorry for the lack of grammar, etc. - I was typing as I was listening, and the accuracy may not be perfect, but the idea is there. Anyone who is still on please review and correct anything I have typed here.
My fingers hurt...

Not bashing my friend. I have only 2K shares that I bought two moths ago. I wish I had bought more. I am a small time investor that is hoping for "material announcements". I love what they have and what they do. I am holding to hear what they say and how we react. I think this thing is totally positive - don't misunderstand. I am a perfectionist and I am just an excitable boy (Zevon fans will understand...).
Nice try yourself, ickyy. Learn how to recognize bashers - I am sure there is something here on iHub that can help you learn that one.
-Neb
He is selling the product. I can read the website or call a salesperson. I thought there was a "material announcement" coming. This CC should be about the business - not the product.
What do I know. I will be patient...
-Neb
Three "big" manufacturers.
-Neb
WTF? Is there an actual agenda? Was this preplanned and written out? I feel like I am intruding into the conversation in the IT room...
I am a shareholder, so I am not bashing, but holy cow I have never heard such a thing!
I best hear something about money or contracts or something...
-Neb
Where's Waldo?
This is hilarious. Now the clowns come out of the woodwork and make it even harder...
Who has the highest number? They tell you when you enter the call. I was 53 or something around there. anyone?
-Neb
This is priceless! Where is the big guy? Maybe he is still on the bus back to the office...?
-Neb
Oh my freakin' gee oh dee!!!
The share price is going to dive just on this cluster f&*k alone!!!!
THE NUMBER SIX! SIIIIIIIX!!!
Who are these yahoos!?
I suppose I will start to hear something real in about an hour and a half. A conference call from their investment company's office????
*gulp*
I hope the actual news makes up for this fiasco...
-Neb
On a Monday morning? Oh, my, I can't take it...
Nice.
-Neb
Great stuff stervc! Thanks for taking the time to help anyone who has just joined us. Heck - it helps us all!!
Holding long and strong...
-Neb
Oh my....Newbee....there it is again...
*deep breath...then another*
All right, I guess I am just going to have to get used to it. And, well, you spelled it in kind of a cool way, too. All right, Dadio, I give.
To comment on some items in your post:
I do agree that putting faith in the Gleasman's having never met them would go on the con side of any investment worksheet. However, I would also be putting that in the pro side as well - not the never having met them part, but who they seem to be and where they are from. I have watched these guys as they took a path that most "startups" do not do - no pink sheet crap and BS PRs - just tangible high tech engineering and quiet, steady development which indicates to me that there is a high probability of ethical business practices. I also know that Rochester is a town FULL of smart people - so many Kodakers and X-roxers have left and started companies of their own. The U of R - RIT - Harris - Gleason Works - all those cutting edge businesses in Victor and Bushnells Basin - need I go on?
My expectations are high, but with any investment I know the risk is there - sometimes my expectations are not met, as that is what life can bring. I don't invest a penny if I can't afford to lose it. So to answer your questions about what might happen if we don't "land a big fish" I can say only that I would hope, based on all the other aspects of the company that are visible, that the Gleasman's have at least one contingency plan - if not more than one. And don't forget, they have multiple patents in varying arenas. And a high percentage of inside holding...and very low debt...
However, there is an absolute worst case scenario for this, or any company, which can include the lack of a big fish, the lack of any contingency plan, some bad luck and a plate full of patents that you can't produce and nobody wants. In that case we all pay our transaction fees and go home.
Not likely, though. As I stare at my fictitious investment sheet, I see the pro column going on to the other side of the page and the con column containing only a few items. Time is never on my side, but I am willing to wait for quality to emerge the victor.
The engineering is complicated, and I for one sometimes get a bit confused when thinking about hydraulic pumps and tiny little gears and differentials joints and infinitely variable anything. Heck - I stopped understanding calculus when they started talking about dividing something infinitely and then adding all together or something. The word imaginary came into play and I failed the class. Three times until I passed...
I am not worried about the lack of visible progress. This "quiet period" can last as long as it needs to. No part of a quality business exchange happens in a heartbeat. Unexpected hurdles pop up from time to time. Redirections need to happen - adjustments get made. All this takes time. Aesop said it - "slow and steady wins the race".
Anyway, I guess I am not alone in my Newbeeness now, so I would think we could soon at least attempt to wander outside the grounds of Tor Acres. You know, kind of lurk about in the shadows. I know Leitrim will call the cops, but I can run - can you?
-Neb
Can't have mine. Well, maybe you can when they are worth $1.00 or so...
-Neb
2 Million - all riding free. Bought 1 Million at .0001 and the other 2 at .0002. Sold 1 Million a couple weeks ago, although I REALLY WISH I HAD'NT!!!
However, it is nice to have the 2 free...
No powder for more right now, but we will see how she flies.
-Neb
Love it!
Thanks for all you humor, iblong2! And it is nice to see Dixie's smiling face on this board. I had a wonderful dog named Kasha who was a Siberian Husky/German Shepherd mix (I think - pound puppy). I miss her terribly as she died a couple years ago,and when I read about your recent "Ginger loss" and subsequent "Dixie gain", it brought warmth to my heart and reminded me of all that is good about my sweet Kasha (not that I don't think about her every day).
Dogs, and cats - and any pet for that matter, are the best gifts we are given. Anyone who does not feel this way can just, well, go away as far as I am concerned.
I judge people by their pets and children. If the dog/child/pet is a happy dog/child/pet, then the person has at least shot at being liked by me.
I could write for days on it, but let me just say thanks for spreading the humor and for posting little Dixie in your sig.
-Neb
That is the nice part about Torvec, yes? Multiple patents on multiple technologies - a good hedge. Which ones do you see as potentially the next "push"?
Do you know if they are attempting to market the FTV that is in the film clips on their web site? With all the talk about military vehicles being needed all the time, wouldn't that FTV be a solution? I know it is not an armored creature, but I would think it could have many uses. Not just military, but all kinds of things - farm vehicles, snow cat types, safari trips through the bush, etc. Heck - rescue vehicles after earthquakes or tsunamis would be a great use!
I am going back to review some old posts from the engineers in the room.
-Neb
Thanks, allnumbers. I do recall the mention of SAIC many times throughout the past while, and there was speculation that they may be interested in our technology. I also remember the visit.
I need to read more about the detail of the technology, as I mentioned to wave in my last post, so I best not comment until I am fully up to speed with the differences between them. I understand the basic principals, but I have been looking more at the company itself rather than the technological details - typical econ major. If you can believe it, I actually took one semester of EE in college. Clearly I got a C- in that one (something about not going to class enough...)
Why is it that the industry is moving away from CVTs? Wouldn't this then make the IVT more appealing or are they too similar from a manufacturing prospect? As mentioned, I will read up more on both.
Thanks again for the information, and I would apologize for my ignorance, but there may be those reading who would benefit from a brief 101 on the whole thing.
-Neb
Thanks, and yes, I was not paying attention. I have read Artguy's posts, but not being an engineer I sometimes go a bit quickly through them. I know that the IVT is more revolutionary, but the details evade my primitive mind...
Your explanation makes sense to me, and I will read up a little to better educate myself (a bit embarrassing).
Thanks, wave.
I know I am not invited to Tor Acres, but after this little slip up I may be forced to return my stock as well.
-Neb
Cover charge - then a small tax - then a larger tax - then a travel fee - then a subsidy for those who can't afford the tax, thus driving the tax higher - and....
*gulp*
-Neb
Likely.
BTW - I dig your handle. How come I had to pay for mine? At least I am plural, I guess... ;)
-Neb
I am a holder of 2M shares, so I believe in this company - not letting go of one until I see something. However, I do have a question - wouldn't it be in the best interest of Appletree to have a low share price if they are to buy back so many shares?
I do know there are rules as to how many shares can be bought back in a day (something involving the average volume over the last four weeks) so they can't just multiply 360 million shares by .0008 to get close to $290K and take the block. They have to spread it out over time (they even indicated "over the next year"). Thus the question - would they want to keep the price down until they can own the 90%? I mean, if it went up to .0016 in the next week, that price doubles. And if it goes even higher, which we would all like to see, they would have to dump even more into it just to retire the shares.
Or, on the other hand, do they already own the shares?
From the talk on the board it seems like we are waiting for a significant increase in share price to come soon. From the PRs it seems like they would benefit from a low price. I can see that they are smart people and have a good business idea and so far I have liked every word from them - mostly the Mark Ellis is gone bye bye part...
Any thoughts?
-Neb
Oh, I see. Ignore the last one...
I wonder if this could spark competitive interest int he technology? Or, perhaps, could there have been infringement on our tech? I am sure we are not the only ones who make such items, but how wide do our patents spread? How different does another CVT need to be so as not to infringe?
I am aware of other companies that work on this type of thing, and I know this is not our only technology, but could you elaborate a little on the implications of these two posts? Anyone else have any thoughts?
Thanks in advance.
-Neb
Forgive my ignorance, but does this imply they have already found another CVT partner or are they saying they are allocating funds to find one?
Thanks, allnumbers.
-Neb
Hi Dino!
Next week should be the time. I sure would mind being in the 10K club, but that might be a bit out of reach right away.
I hate to say it, but I don't mind seeing he price drop at the moment - only because I can DCA down and I still know the "commercialization event" is "imminent". I guess any "flipper" types would want some kind of volatility, but for me the drop in price is just a chance to increase my holding.
Now where IS that wad of hundreds...?
-Neb
