Yeah Summers impresses me as a guy that can take the company foward... Didn't he work for or does work for the consulting firm that Wainer hired? Also...has BDIC actually applied to the SEC to retire shares? I know it takes weeks to get their ok.
Love the cup and handle ...almost as much as my favorite...the reverse head and shoulders. The accumulation looks good...but it's probably us current 50 or whatever shareholders buying more. We need a couple thousand more new shareholders. And then a couple thousand more... When Wainer was peddling candy bars and tax relief advice he must of skipped the part about product promotion. I know he paid to get on a few programs but that's not enough. ..The website, Facebook page and Twitter accounts all suck.
Yeah I walked away from the computer thinkin we were going into the weekend hanging on the all too familiar .30 handle and cussing the market. Somebody bailed us out late....did that clear out a few more bids in the 30's?? BLOW BABY BLOW!!!
Thanks then..for sharing that data with us...probably nowhere else we could find it...or know how to put it together from filings etc. Surprised how few of us there are invested in this thing. Theres probably 300,000 restricted drivers in the U.S. that would be interested to know there's one interlock company that went public with a good device. But then..most folks that get a DUI are too busy paying fines and lawyers to think about anything else.
lot of data on investors hub page for BDIC today...shareholders of record show just 46..?? is that right..only 46 investors have positions in BDIC?
Gold clobbered today...no sense to the gold market but playing the swings can be rewarding...I like JNUG after a couple weeks of getting beat down...like now. When market makers get tired of Trump talking big things but delivering nothing gold will be hot again.
What are the MMID columns??
Good to see the bid moving up off .30 but those bids around .10 need to give up.
Bid was .40 at the open for a few minutes...but nice to see both bid and ask moving up.... blow baby blow!!
Am I seeing things or did the bid move to .40 this morning?
I just read the articles about SmartStarts lawsuit against the state related to GPS requirements and can tell you their real intent is to protect their own ass against civil suits brought by drivers who bring litigation against SS. Then SS can say they didn't know the state was was collecting GPS data. No interlock provider would bend over backwards to protect users rights if it wasn't in their best interest even more.
From what I've learned about data collection ...the millions of individual driver tests results and camera shots of drivers...the IIL companies keep and store that data and make it available to state authorities like courts and state licensing departments either on request, or is some states with advanced systems, in real time. So SmartStart and the state of Minnesota may very well have a compatibility problem especially if the state wants real time data and SmartStart can't or doesn't want to upgrade to provide them that. These companies are greedy. And they are not monitored very well which leads to them being able to shake down interlock customers with no fear of reprisal. But...they risk legal action and set backs when they start biting the hand that feeds them....the state judicial system. Most state have several approved vendors licensed to provide interlocks..Oregon has 13.. WAshington about the same. Not sure how many in Minnesota but SmartStart might get themselves uncertified if they can't or won't comply with state reporting requirements.
Interesting about the lawsuits. Here in Washington a Superior Court judge ordered the Department of Licensing to cease and desist from requiring GPS and to show cause why they are requiring GPS on interlock drivers that have no geographic limitations. Of course the DOL immediately requested more time to hold a hearing on it. This whole thing thing stemmed from just one new restricted driver who is not restricted to where he can go. He told his lawyer to challenge it in front of an apparently sympathetic judge. Fresh DUI offenders who are suspended or revoked often get a hardship license that requires interlock and defines where they can drive like only to work, medical apps, treatment etc. For these folks I can see a GPS unit on their vehicle would make sense,,,but not for those like me that have no geographic or time of day restrictions, and have fully restored licenses. . Down the road the industry of interlocks will see more and more legal challenges of all sorts I think...whether it's supplier vs. supplier battling for territory, interlock users crying violation of civil rights, intellectual property and proprietary theft or interlock user class action against predatory installers..it will help define the limits these companies and state laws can go to and is overdue in my opinion. It's been the Wild Wild West up until recently...
Here in WA the state patrol administers and monitors the entire program... And the Trooper that was the head of the interlock program for the state retired and now works for LifeSaver... So you are right about cops being a natural fit to work for or own a IIL company. Personally...I think a well functioning..easy to use interlock is a good tool to prevent DUI. I just look foward to the day of way better technology from the suppliers and fair regs surrounding the administration of the programs around the country...there's a lot of improvement needed. On your point of BDIC needing to ramp up in that state you are so right...would like to see them focus on ramping up production of the devices in earnest and grab market share now...
Heard Spicers big mouth last night so put a buy limit in at .006 and it hit today. Been around the market long enough to know that shit news will sway the market so took advantage of it today to make bank. The new administration talks a big game..but hasnt really done crap except sign Executive Orders like autographs..they have bigger fish to fry then to try to reverse the seven legal states..who have already budgeted the gazzilions of tax money windfall they came on to but dont want to really say. Bought this before couple months ago and sold into strength..will make more. legal pot..its for real..
Due diligence will take me some time. Already BDIC has switched vendors to a new installer in Beaverton Or. Sparkys Electric. Thats a problem with all interlock companies....finding and signing up vendors to do the installs and calibrations. They are fickle. Some of them downright dishonest and shysters. Nobody cares. Lawyers call it post de facto punishment. Shit that keeps happening after all the legal obligations are over. Be glad you are not restricted to interlock. I pay extra per month to have Drager and my installer and calibration guy is professional. But this industry is growing faster than good installers can be found. If they can come up with a couple guys with clean records..or fake it that they do...they're in. Then they find out they can charge the customer for false positives or shit that happens to the device thats not the drivers fault they see a gold mine. again..nobody cares and they pay. Sorry..Ill get off my soapbox. Reality is...it doesnt matter if your interlock device works well or not...theres gonna be so many mother fucker dui offenders out there that BDIC would have to be brain dead not to reward shareholders in the next year to two years. later..Jeff
Cruise was great...blue ocean..blue sky...80 every day..even girlfriend tolerable. Ignored market for a week...a vacation in itself...but see Trump rally intact. BDIC went .30-.40 Now for some DD on BDIC. Today I will call the service vendor in Portland, OR...pose as a prospective customer and ask some prepared questions. Mostly focused on the reliability of the device. If Wainer wants to wholesale "flip" current restricted drivers over to BDIC the company has to stand out against the competition. Keep in mind that most restricted drivers are first time DUI offenders who are restricted to interlocks for 6 months to a year...so whatever device they go with will be the one they keep for that time due to costs and hassle of de-install and reinstall of different device. WA did a study which showed that: 20% of restricted drivers only started their vehicle 0-10 times a month..which means they had second vehicle they were driving around in. 20% tried to circumvent their interlock (dumb move) and over half blew hot tests at startup. I've never blown a hot test or tried to circumvent...and blow 100's of tests per month. But the study showed why the regulations are so tight. Chronic drinkers are trying to outsmart their devices or drive while buzzed. Hence the cameras and GPS. Will report to you all what I discover about real life use of BDIC devise, it's reliability when driving and pricing..which is important if they mean to achieve market share.
Okie dokie...patience I can do. Going off on a cruise with my lady for a week.will see if I can stay away from the red hot market...one of u guys buy 100 shares at the ask while im gone..that may start a trend up...jeff
Hope you're right ...the market potential will be there..several states have legislation grinding through committee to snag the first time DUI offenders. Soon everyone will know someone that's on an interlock device (or find themselves on one!) That will in turn heat up the competition for market share. It's obvious the big players are content with their crappy technology because they have a monopoly in a given geographic area. Like Hawaii for instance..Smart Start is the only provider on all the islands and their device is crap...they get $40-50 bucks for every recalibrate after a violation that was no fault of the operator. BDIC states they don't charge for violation recalibrations...something I will confirm in my research.
You must level 2 capability...wow 80,000 shares traded today...hopefully .30 is new support . Would like to know who tagged the 50,000 shares...shows some interest anyway.
All good news..wish it would move the needle...last time I looked under major shareholders it only listed Wainer...then there's us retail shareholders hoping and waiting. From my perspective...I am gathering some research as to the performance of the BDI 747 interlock device itself. It's tough to find reviews and actual real time data. The blogs are full of the reviews from jackasses that couldn't blow a horn if they had to. Im going to hang out at an installation vendor and do a couple things. Get a price list that you can only get by visiting the vendors place of business and, talk to a real user of the 747. If the device is as trouble free as possible...that bids well for market share. Our good friend MADD (I hate them) is doing their part pressuring states to require interlock for all first offenders regardless of BAC. With that it mind..BDIC needs to ramp up in the states where they are now certified, but have no presence. I'll circle back soon with a field report...
Order filled at .30 but not bragging about it....this one likes to make love to .10 way too often.... Put in a limit at .095 for UAMM but just missed it...now it's .14 and looking toward 2 cents
Trying to buy more while low .30s....get some while I can !!
Thanks Sobek....between the two of us we've got this stock covered. Would you take a look at UAMM again..they just retired stock and are doing good things... Hey just now BDIC reversed and went up...BOO YAH !
Agree the demand is there and will grow exponentially ...whether it be school buses or more first time offenders...or even devices programmed for one test at start up for non restricted drivers.. (Company vehicles or teen problem drivers) the interlock really has only just begun to develop to full potential. I'm surprised the big dogs in the industry haven't updated their technology... Some..like Lifesaver..have the same cumbersome process and device they had 12 years ago.. The leaders in this market will be the companies with the easiest device to use with the fewest aborts, false positives, and most forgiveness..like missing a rolling test because of noise...but giving a good test within a couple minutes of missed test without a violation. MOnthly lease cost to users will also be a huge factor. Let's face it...most DUI offenders are low income and will gravitate to lowest cost interlock...and then bitch and moan about its performance...In 2019 ..ALL first offenders in CA will have to install interlock. They are coming out of the four county trial period and Gov Brown signed the legislation to require all first time offenders to get on interlock statewide. CA is home turf for BDIC HQs ... If they can tap into the coming potential market just in CA..their top line will explode. I really don't mind using a interlock device myself ...guarantee no DUI... And if you knew me you'd say that's good. The industry needs to leapfrog ahead with better and better tech ..right now it's scattered across the board from devices that give the driver trouble everyday..to virtually trouble free like Drager...it's an interesting industry..
Well how about that..!! Maybe the bid will move up up finally... And maybe somebody from BDIC does read Sobeks posts... If over the next couple years this gets to $2 it will have covered all my DUI and interlock costs...sort of poetic justice for overzealous justice system. They have a distributor now in my state and I will be looking into switching over to their interlock..
Wish BDIC performed as well as some recent gains I made on pot stocks. Just speculating on them I made 120% on ZRZH ( .17 to .37) and 40% on UAMM (.076 to .12) in less than a week. Then got out until Trump administration takes a position on legal weed. Not a pot smoker but cant deny what many pot penny stocks are doing lately. Now I will wait til Attorney General takes an official position on states legal weed. I will stay with my 20,000 shares of BDIC because I see the nationwide groundswell going on with increased use of these silly devices. Sobek you are well informed and we will depend on your research and messages to keep us apprised. Its their technology and user friendly device that will penetrate the market as restricted dui drivers realize that paying up a tad bit to have a trouble free device is well worth it. Sobek have you approached the company..or Wainer in particular ..about your concerns about structure? They are such a small company you should be able to talk directly with Wainer or the CFO.
If they really have 2800 units out..just say they do...they lease them for $100 a month..the installation vendor gets a cut out of that..how much I do not know and will probably never know. I talked to an actually live person from the company who told me the $100 a month lease price, which is about market rate average so sounds plausible. so say the vendor gets 20% conservativly..or $20 a pop to recalibrate every other month..that cuts it down to 90 a month for BDIC...X 2800 units is $252K a month.. You pontificate a lot of facts and figures but not sure where you get your data.
More demand than supply only big problem. They talked about the outsourcing of suppliers and assembly as a problem..which I believe it is. The devices arent that sophisticated ...but not simplistic either. Then there's finding the stereo shops and other vendors to install. The owners and employess for these companies have to have near pristine criminal records and they are background checked. BDIC is a later comer to the industry..and just gaining a percent or two of the total market place takes time. Sobeks analysis of their stock structure is a good point..but getting back to $1 shouldnt be difficult.
Full disclosure...i bought in last spring at .91 cents...felt the pain down to .10 and doubled down at .17 so I am just a little shy of break even at current share price of around .50 Takes a strong stomach to play penny stocks with a wide gap between bid and ask (like this morning low of .10) just 100 shares can take it up or down over 50%. I read in one of their press releases they were content to stay in the pink sheets. Lot less transparency and regulatory demands on the company. I keep my shares because if they play their cards right...success will fall in their lap. MADD will get all states on board with first timers having to install.
Anybody else here actually an interlock user??
Todays low of .10 was pure B.S. Sobek--you know nobody from the company reads your posts I hope. Probably feels better venting though. I bought into this company for a couple reasons. 1. I am an interlock user. I currently use Drager as they are the most trouble free device and the service shop is just a few miles away. The parent company though, like all of them, is in cahoots with the state licensing dept and legislators looking to add new fees all the time. I currently pay $140 a month. $98 of that is the device lease..the rest of it fees .2. Most companies like intoxalock, lifesaver, etc all have crappy technology, the hum thing is ridiculous, and the false positives and no starts are all too frequent. BDIC has good technology..but they dont advertise that fact to new offenders. New offenders just look for cheapest company and then suffer through inferior technology, and end up paying more per month in re-cal fees. Sobek , even though you are critical of the company. seems to still own shares and has an interest in seeing this company do right by shareholders..good on ya man for putting their feet to the fire. But there's always stock manipulation going on..and the Wainers et all seem to know their way around that area. Their Facebook and Twitter feeds are boring and useless. Lets all jump on this company to uplist and do right by us.
