The day traders will increase liquidity which is good for all of us longs!
All these years of waiting have allowed me to steadily increase my position and Future Me will be very happy it took this long for pps to take off!!!
You are absolutely correct that a positive PR can bump us up bigtime. You are dealing with a board that has become really negative after many years of repeated disappointments (justifiably so). The negativity has led to a lack of emotional agility... and the negative sentiment has blinded many to near-term positive possibilities. Today was a very positive PR. We'll see what happens!
Sure would be nice to be able to buy LQMT Jan19 $0.20 calls... if only we were on the NASDAQ!!!
Thanks Fursure! I've iCaled the date!!
This isn't about raising funds. Companies only make money on newly issued shares in an IPO or follow-on public offering of new shares. I don't see LQMT ever issuing new shares again, and in fact, they will probably buy back shares over time.
As a public company, Liquidmetal is expected to maximize value for its shareholders. You wouldn't argue that the value of your shares would be higher on the NASDAQ than the pink sheets, right? Your shares would increase as a result of NASDAQ re-listing due to increased liquidity, investor awareness/access, and higher inherent credibility of a big board-listed stock (as compared to pink sheets).
Li, I'm sure, would also love for his shares to be traded on NASDAQ since he has said as much. His shares will increase in value just like ours.
Of all the arguments to pursue, your argument that Li has no interest in re-listing on the NASDAQ seems out of touch.
Hypothesis: the term "the markets" implies efficiencies afforded only by the big boards. Pink sheet stocks don't follow the laws of "the markets". Pink sheets are off the radars of big investors and suffer from low liquidity, as well as an inherently diminished perceived quality rating / increased risk. So, until we get relisted (which I do believe will happen in the next 5 years), we aren't exactly following the laws of the big boards. Our share price is not an exact prediction of future returns. Our share price is diminished by illiquidity and high perceived risk.
Let's hope that Li prevents any future "exclusive" deals with any companies, period. While Swatch and Apple may have saved Liquidmetal from going under, they've subsequently prevented multiple revenue streams. Li is smart enough not to give away any more parcels of the farm.
Agreed, and am happily adding to my 2.3 million shares every chance I get!
I recall that a Design Guide 5.0 is imminent which will probably coincide with the website relaunch (TODAY???)...
If it's an identical machine, and the people who will be running the identical machine in Lake Forest are present (and in charge) in China for the tests, then isn't it basically safe to say that the test will get the involved parties up to speed for future production runs in Lake Forest?
And maybe it'll even happen late Q2, given Li's penchant for under-promising and over-delivering.
When going from "start-up" to "growth" phase, and when going from near-zero sales to quickly growing sales... it's quite easy to grow sales by several orders of magnitude! Watch and see!!
If the parts created in China are for sale in North America or Europe then we make money. Right?
I hope that there was a terribly awkward conversation during which Steipp was asked by Li to explain the justification for his compensation structure compared to financial health of the company. I picture Li shooting daggers from his eyeballs while Steipp blushed and stuttered and sharted in his pants. Hopefully this occurred in front of others in the board room.
Well that was interesting! Even the operator was surprised how abruptly it ended!
There was a lot of exciting stuff discussed. They are setting up a revenue generating machine, strategically and methodically.
The new facility will be operational (and presumably revenue-generating) by "early 3rd quarter". That's exciting!
Also exciting is the fact that the auditors removed the "going concern" on the latest round of reviews for the first time in forever.
Nice that the executive compensation packages are reduced in 2017 onward.
There weren't any contract announcements or surprise revenue numbers, but I'm happy with the progress being made.
Prediction for Monday? Who knows!
Prediction for year-end 2017? REVENUE and PROFIT and RISING SHARE PRICE!!!
Have a great weekend, everyone!

What does this mean?
I realize this is ridiculous, so don't jump all over me... but last night I had a very vivid dream that I was watching my brokerage account on a run of the mill day and my LQMT shares were hovering in the $0.20s, and then all of a sudden jumped up to $9/share and within seconds were above $10. In disbelief, I started selling as quickly as I could. Right before I woke up I had a LOT of cash staring me in the face, excited to be invested in conservative inflation-beating securities for the remainder of my days on Earth. But then I woke up, of course. Still, this thing has huge potential. I'm greedy, but in a long-term kind of way, and I can wait for it to blow up some day. The potential is undeniable. That's my unicorn dream for all of you.
There are exceptions, where extraordinary gains happen in a tiny span of time...

I'll never sell until it's down to zero or I'm rich. The regret I'd feel from selling early and missing the opportunity to retire young would kill me, so I'd rather see it go to zero than risk the regret. I'm sitting on a sizable position and adding every chance I get (while also investing in diversified ETFs and some very lucrative call options).
I first bought in on April 19, 2012 at $0.2925 so coming up on my five year anniversary. I've bought many more shares under the current share price and am up 27% on average with a large position. It's been fun watching this story unfold. I'll keep adding to my position for the foreseeable future.
The loss of the physical home button will depend on the iOS software being very securely re-designed as well. Sometimes it's the software bottleneck that prevents timely hardware updates. Apple spreads its software engineers pretty thin...
I doubt they will announce a 2018 product in 2017, especially since this isn't a new category. Apple's competitors have grown quite efficient at copying Apple hardware specs. With the first generation iPhone Apple was so far ahead of its competitors that it could afford to announce 6 months before launch. That's no longer the case. And, 2017 is the 10th anniversary year, not 2018. We'll see a big delivery of an impressive re-design in 2017. Why do we care? Because of the free marketing provided by inclusion of Liquidmetal in an Apple product. Meanwhile, Lugee is getting all of the gears in place to make us a powerhouse "global leader" of amorphous tech in non-CE industries. Patience will pay off. Probably not Friday or Monday, but my guess is we'll outperform the S&P 500 from now on for at least 10-20 years. Just remember to diversify.
I hope to hear more than "If you build it, they will come."
Totally agree with you Leads! For anyone who knows what it was like to be a kid on Christmas Eve hardly able to fall asleep in anticipation of Christmas Morning, that's kind of what this wait feels like to an optimist. Hopeful anticipation is the best part of life. Anyone who never feels it has my pity.
WTF does Otis do?????????
Yes, the board is officially boring now. I'm going to remove the bookmark from my browser window to break the habit of clicking far too often. I will rely on my brokerage site to give me my daily updates on how we're doing. Good luck to all!
Crickets indicate imminent PR!
Apple doesn't design gimmicks. There's got to be a really good reason for a phone to fold for Apple to pursue such a design. Apple led the charge against flip phones and I don't see them reverting just for sh_ts and giggles. But to answer your question, Liquidmetal is great for hinges, so yes, it could help a folding phone design.
If they were leary you'd see increasing volume with a drop in price. Price is stable with very low volume. The world is waiting for news! And yes Watts, I was wrong that the 8-K would increase our stock price significantly. I can admit when I'm wrong!
"Depending" is your word. My retirement does not "depend" on LQMT doing anything. It's secure either way. But if we hit $5, my retirement will be quite "accelerated"!
$5. But I'm in the middle of a career change (studying to sit for the CFA Level 1 exam in June and CFP exam in July) and plan on liking my next job so much I'll keep on doing it after $5/share!
Yes, it's always good to eliminate competitors and expand IP. I hope we learn that this has come to pass. It is odd that the site is down without a branded "under maintenance" placeholder...
What do you think would happen to our share price in the short-term?
Last year the Q4 2015 earnings call was on March 16, 2016.
