Dont think that is needed right now.
At HIMSS conference they were able to show off Glassware to EVERY major healthcare player in person (healthcare is 2nd largest buyer of cloud computing pdts/services second to US Govt). In my opinion, an ad doesnt convey what the product can do.
A very large company approached them with a fob that had their very involved program on it (yes I was there when they did it). They wanted it virtualized for the devices they use (iPad, Chromebook and a couple laptops). Spiffy virtualized it and then spent the next hour watching their executives and sales staff play with it on the devices. An hour later more sales guys and higher ups came to see it.
This was just ONE program but it represents BILLIONS in revenue for just this one company. There were other demos but this program (according to the company) couldnt be virtualized.
Riedel was on the board of Oscient Pharmaceuticals from 1999-2010. During that time, from 2003-2006, Cole was VP of Business Development at Oscient. Also, Cole was a student at Harvard when Riedel was a professor there. I'm guessing that's the connection in some way.
From the Wall Street Cheat Sheet article:
There have been some reports issued since then suggesting that a takeover isn’t likely. However, the company is still substantially undervalued compared to where it should be. Additionally, Sarissa Capital Management, the fund that owns approximately 11.5 million shares of Ariad, is an activist hedge fund. This means that they are likely pushing for takeover as well.
Denner didn't buy 11.5 mil shares for sh*ts and giggles.
Details of Deforest, WI Gander Mountain re-opening:

They just hired a marketing manager. I wonder what he does all day.
This sh*t ain't rocket surgery. You don't even have to spend money in certain instances. Update The Facebook page with pics and or video from the tradeshow in Germany. The link to the Facebook page can then be sent to press and forwarded by all current shareholders to potential shareholders.
They should be doing more co-promotion with Gander. Gander has 270,000 people following on Facebook. Arrange a Q&A on there with Virtra's product guy, Brian Wardell. You can do all sorts of things for little to no money.
It doesn't matter what predictions management makes on future stock price if we're the only ones who know about those predictions.
If I remember correctly, Virtra stated in one of their filings that they had to move into the new facility faster than they would have ordinarily, because of the Gander deal. Makes me think there is more to this deal than what you are guessing.
Jinx, you owe me a Coke weeble. Just by reading that article, it certainly seems like they have bigger plans in mind for the academies.
Here's a Gander article from March:
http://www.startribune.com/sports/outdoors/117824448.html
Some quotes from the CEO:
Some select stores will go a step further. Gander Mountain is adding a first-of-its-kind retail shooting academy, with a mix of classroom learning and hands-on firing for gun enthusiasts and owners. The store in Lakeville will be the first in Minnesota to be reconfigured with the shooting academy in June. Gander will open a new store in La Crosse, Wis., with an academy in April.
"We are going to expand dramatically over the next few years," said the casually dressed Pratt, sitting in a conference room in the downtown St. Paul headquarters that is referred to by employees as "base camp." "We're going to find ways to do better."
Pratt expects the academy to be a profit center on its own as well as a draw for potential customers in the rest of the store. "This is game-changing for Gander Mountain," he said.
Go back and listen to the last conference call. At one point, Don mentions what the VTSI footprint is in the academies.
Don't know.
New controller starts on June 6th. Don't have a name for you.
Dale is no longer with the company. New head of marketing and IR is Steve Shaffer:
http://www.linkedin.com/pub/steven-shaffer/4/12b/388
I spoke directly to Dale a few weeks back when they were trying to salvage the R/S. He told me he was taking over IR from Jed. Jed's name has been on the latest press releases. So, Jed handles PR, Dale handles IR.
Probably just need to update the website. I think Jed still handles pr and Dale handles ir.
There are currently 119 Gander Mountain stores in 23 states. That means a ton of simulators, with room for Gander to grow to many more stores.
Always nice to hear:
"Gander Mountain’s goal is to incorporate the Gander Mtn. Academy into retail stores nationwide."
TV news story featuring the new Gander Mountain Academy in La Crosse, WI:

They are demoing the 300 MIL and the Range MIL at ITEC. That's why they have two booths.

Jed was replaced for IR. Apparently still doing PR.
Alliance just called me...AGAIN!!!!!
They called and hung up when I didn't answer, since I did not recognize the number. As I Googled the number, they called again and I answered. Wanted me to change my vote, since VirTra has now announced audit, etc. I said no...AGAIN!!!!!
Not the best way to treat your shareholders, especially a generally supportive long. They really need to cut their losses and start over. Great company and product, horrible investor relations.
Weeble,
Where do you think the price would be right now if everything except the R/S proxy happened?
I was pretty animated on the phone, especially regarding the Alliance shenanigans. I got the feeling they went 1-100 to avoid the possibility of having to do another reverse in the future as it regards to staying eligible for NAS. My argument was that if they announced Gander, Don's insider buy, audit and NAS intent first, the price would be higher and then the announced split could have been a lower ratio and received much more favorably.
He was cool and said I could always call or e-mail with any questions. Dale has an interesting background with Honeywell and helped them win new biz from the U.S. Army.
Got a call from Dale Haines, the new Marketing Manager for Virtra. He started last week, 4/18. He previously spent over five years working for Honeywell Aerospace. He's a former Marine and veteran of Desert Storm and Desert Shield.
He called about my proxy vote. I explained that I've been in the stock for 8 years, through thick and thin. Generally a cheerleader for the company and have even sent sales leads to Bob. Told him I voted no on the R/S, because of the details and way it was handled.
We e-mailed today and I told him I wanted to post some things about our call. He said that was cool and also gave me some additional info:
He now handles investor relations. Jed is out.
The controller has not been hired yet. They have received 58 resume's to date and have begun the interview process.
The proxy will not be pulled.
Any questions or comments, contact Dale:

I like Bob, I like Dale, I like the company. Just can't bring myself to vote yes for this proxy in the current form. I'm not opposed to a split, just this one.
I was reassured a couple of years ago when Bob said on a conference call that there were no plans for a R/S. That worked out well.
Regarding the car company, Dean said more than once that it was a European car company and they met with their German executives. So that means that it's a German company or a company somewhere else in Europe and they met with their German office.
Army needs space for training. Simulators instead?

Sam Isaly, lead manager of the $2 billion Eaton Vance Worldwide Health Sciences Fund, quoted on page 36 of the June issue of Best Life magazine, on how he would invest $100,000:
"I'd buy into a big oil stock such as Exxon Mobil and a retail stock like Wal-Mart. I'd also have some money in Google, which will experience enduring growth. We've moved from a world of reality to a virtual world. The next big thing will be voice recognition, and Google has a patent in voice-based search."
Does anybody have the General's e-mail address? Is it pdalby@virtra.com?
New York Post story on the NYPD's FATS:

Hi Kelly. I hope all is well. I'm curious to know any details you can provide regarding the $23 million near miss and what your thoughts are, albeit from an outsider position, on the possibility of "company changing deals" in the future. Particularly with the possibility of a change of course in Iraq and a re-allocation of funding. Thanks!

NYPD Firearms and Tactics Training:
http://www.nyc.gov/html/nypd/html/training/firearms_section.html
Sir,
This is going to be big money the city will have to shell out. I wish I knew how the NYC cops train. I did hear the police commissioner mention that when they train, they are taught to fire 3 shots, stop and reassess.
Did you all see this?:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15918902/
Perfect example of the need for use of force training to prevent things like this from happening. You have 4 cops, with 5-12 years of experience, with no previous shooting incidents for any of them. These were not trigger-happy rookies. Suddenly, all at once, they fire 50 shots at unarmed men. What happens at 4am, in the dark, outside a club to make this happen? And could it be prevented in the first place with different training?
I don't recall seeing this article posted from the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Nice story about Case Western:

Been playing phone tag with the General today. He left me a message earlier to chat about the proxy. Apparently got my name and number because I asked a question on the conference call. If I hear anything interesting, I'll let you know.
