I don't really see 'growing your own' happening.. if that was a case why people don't grow their own lettuce or strawberries, cucumbers? you don't even have to deal with any drying, watching for mold, pruning etc..
People just don't have time or are too lazy to deal with 'farming'.. they just go to the store when they need and they can pick up variety of brands, tastes, amount, etc..
Sure there are going to be random people trying a plant or two on a side but they are going to have zero impact on mass production imo
Future and growth of this sector depends heavily on lawmakers so unfortunately politics is tide up here.. passing certain bills and FDA regulations are crucial to move forward for CWBHF and all others that work hard on quality products and want regulations asap
Yes, I got the link to open after I already posted. I think I get it now. The bill wants to make hemp and all derivatives to fall under dietary supplements ..
This should have been done 2 years ago with Farm Bill and we wouldn't have to look at this circus for 2 years. This would make things simple since there are already regulations for dietary supplements out there from FDA but.. FDA will have the last word on it somehow. I'm not going to hold my breath on that.
What am I missing here? Why do we need this bill making hemp lawful? It's like repeating Farm Bill. Didn't Farm Bill from 2 years ago already make it federally legal?
Why are we going in circles? Jeez
I forgot to check on CA. They didn't manage to close a deal by the end of August? So now it is postponed to 2021? It's f#ed up.
If progressive CA has problems with passing regulations than its a problem.
I know that you are not a fan of Democrats but Pelosi's dauther is big on CBD and she voiced her opinion as well that she can't believe that her CA state who is so progressive on wellness etc, is actually going backwards on CBD..
No doubt Big Pharma is scared of loosing massive sales when people get easier access to more natural remedies for sleeping problems, anxiety, stress, chronic pains, and so on...
Think about it.. 70 mln of Americans have insomnia..
We are talking about billions of dollars that big Pharma is going to loose because of CBD imo
So far you have to really put some effort to buy CBD, either go to healthy store or do some research on the internet.. once CBD enters chains like CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, Wholesfoods, and you are going to have CBD available next to the vitamins, floodgates will open and it should.. everyone should have access to more natural and safer options. It's absolutely BS that herbal remedies are regulated by government.
All this scary FDA talk that very high doses can damage your liver.. Guess what.. if you take high doses of any OTC product, you are going to see much bigger damage then any of the natural products.. and yet they are available everywhere.. have you heard about crazy new tiktok benadryl challenge? Yup, a couple of kids actually died from taking too much of benadryl.. and what? Is FDA going to shut down Benadryl production? After all we have deaths in result of drug overdose.. obviously not, because you just have to have common sense and use products resposibly.. but can you imagine if someone died from CBD overdose? Whole hemp industry would be shut down.
Interesting.. this is second time this week that I scratched my head over 'Global Widget'.. they requested additional meeting next week at OMB regarding CBD regulations. I briefly Googled their name and found that they are selling 'Hemp Bombs' and was pissed that someone 'small player' is causing delays.. I just took a second look on them and see they do have multiple SKUs with CBD, big facility etc.

Let's keep fingers crossed. Go CA!
Charlotte’s is Corp. B now
Don't know when Nasdaq delisting would occur. They just closed on rising capital and I see offering was at $0.45.. they should let it run at some point to wash all those shares before next offering is needed imo
That 0.36 seems to be holding.. at least for now
RS didn't get approved
I always keep eye on this board ;)
Have been busy with 'summer stuff' LOL so I barely post and only do quick trades whenever opportunity pops.
Thanks for sharing your posts and Fibonacci definitely works
CHFS is starting to get some traction
I agree. It's very frustrating that FDA keeps saying the same shit over and over for the last 2 years.. especially when we all known that there is so many otc products available with so many more harmful potential risks. It is such a bias.
Good to see that Pelosi's dauther is CBD advocate and she is right that it's mind blowing that CA that is always so progressive, has such a hard time to come up with good hemp regulations.
pps locked in within 3 cent range for hours.. unbelievable
I absolutely believe in huge potential while FDA opens the door. Better MJ ticks were capable to recover from March crash, 4-5 folds without any news..
CBD was flat but potential is there to do just the same, it just needs bring interest back and FDA news should definitely do a trick. I see easy come back to $15 for CWBHF.
Thanks. What about Icharlotte.com?
Their monthly traffic through a website almost double during Q2.. could be that people were forced to order online due to covid. Nonetheless good to see and hopefully it will translate to sales numbers on Q2.
https://www.websiteiq.com/domain/charlottesweb.com/
One of Cannabis Investor's newsletter sent out email to tell their Investors to exit Charlotte’s because it is not moving as remaining MJ stocks.. hence dip today after 1pm after email hit wires..
.. and people follow blindly.. while all MJ ticks are high and you are supposed to be selling ticks that are on a top AND buying the ones that are undervalued before the moves happen. Charlotte’s will catch up eventually and all those folks will miss out.
Yup, all true and really sad .. sad to see that big Pharma and others going now after kids to make even more profits.
I'm a mom and I'm in only one 'locals mom' Facebook group and you would not believe how many posts is there asking for recommendations for a good doctor to help with a kid anxiety or ADHD.. and what drugs do they use for kids.. sometimes the kid is as young as 5-6 years old.. it's even more now because of corona and kids being isolated and scared of germs and going out (at least this is what moms claims?).. I keep rolling my eyes and truly can't believe that mom would put her own kid on meds at such a young age. It's so f#ed up.
Processed food that Americans are eating is another story. I'm from Europe. My parents NEVER took me to fast food. My mom would work full time but still cook full meal for us at home every single day.
I do the same for my kids though luckily my husband also cooks so we share cooking duties so it's easier.
High death rate in the US because of corona should be a wake up call for many with health issues due to poor diet and stress.. but no, for some reason here they don't look for reason why so mny people deal with particular condition to fix a problem. Here they only look how to treat something. Hence the race to spend billions of dollars for corona vaccine .. another 'quick' expensive fix for just one virus.
True. Also CBD companies have to fight not only decades of prohibition but also big Pharma..
That to be said.. it shows potential of 4 fold run when right news hit to catch up to MJ ticks.
Curaleaf, Cresco, GTBIF.. are the MJ that I follow/own.. they have had unbelievable rebound since April crash and are up 300-400%.. it's sickening how CBD companies stalled and have been flat for months. WTF is going on?
GTBIF 400% within 4 months. Fantastic return on this quiet sleeper
Could be. I'm kinda surprised that this is the way they do it. It would be easier and cheaper for them to issue guidelines and assign a few certified labs to do testing to receive some kinda of FDA approval stamp but it would be a company job and its money to go through the process..
Unless FDA is interested in data itself.
Going with just one lab that is supposed to test thousands of samples.. this could create crazy delays.. I hope that this testing is not going to put on hold hundreds of companies from selling their products unless as you said, FDA does it to catch bad guys when market get green light for everyone with regulations in place.
Yes, I think this is going to be a case otherwise they would be already selling products without waiting for FDA.
Now the question is if that new development about hiring lab to run thousands of CBD samples is pushing us back in time again? Obviously results will take time.. or they will release regulations that are sitting in WH and adjust them later? We have to wait and see
Thanks!
I found this on cvsi FB page. Good read but I don't see anything about FDA hiring independent company
https://www.naturalproductsinsider.com/regulatory/cbd-advocate-encouraged-following-meeting-fda-white-house-officials
Interesting. Do you have a link? Honestly I always thought that FDA guidelines are not going to kill bad players and eliminate them from the market. After all FDA hasn't enforced anything other than warning letters for years BUT I was hoping that only the best ones that comply with FDA would be able to enter big chain stores.. which should be a game changer and should make significant impact on revenue.. basically FDA has no resources to chase bad guys imo..
But if you have 3rd party coming in to help.. then yes, now this is possible. The question is if that creates more corruption or its going to be fair game. Who is it? Any more info?
Yes, people who understand the way CBD works, they will prefer full spectrum extract BUT there are folks that are going to be afraid to try anything that has THC in it even when it's only 0.3%
I swear my mother in law who has problems with sleeping (so CBD would wonders for her) thinks that she gets high and she won't take it. I should also add that she is RN and she swears by conventional sleeping meds/pills so until we see CBD pills in pharmacy next to her vitamins, she won't believe in it.
Why I don't see the Happy Lane at their pluscbd website? Is it there? I would think established customers who buy pluscbd would grab and try new product while buying pluscbd? Why isn't it there?
I like that they came out with THC free options since there is many folks out there like my mother in law that it's horrified of getting high.
I don't like packaging, especially Happy Lane font but I'm into graphic design so I know I'm going to be extra picky than regular customers.
Also I see that their CV Sciences logo is there.. so finally they start associate product line with company name since I bet a lot of regulars that use PlusCBD have no clue who makes it so that's good BUT They should make CV Sciences logo stand out on PlusCBD so people could connect the two lanes of product because packaging is sooo different there is no connection between the two. Big mistake imo because money that you spend on marketing one product lane should benefit the other products but these two are totally disconnected. Maybe that was their goal to disconnect Happy Lane from medicinal look of PlusCBD.. BUT I'm afraid they will have to double on marketing while doing so. Just my thoughts.
Short interest was pretty consistent around 800k since mid May when I noticed that 1M was covered out of nowhere. Before that short interest was around 1.8M for quite some time.
Sounds like you are not aware that they closed on acquisition mid June so they probably need more time to sort out things. Nothing unusual.
Sep. 14th
That's doesn't make any sense.. as if Marijuana doesn't contain CBD? What a nonsense. Do you have a link?
Why gross margin dropped from 70% to 40%? Drastic change if cost of product is $3mln on $5mln sales. That gives them only $2mln gross profit. There is no way to be net positive with 40% gross margin.
Is there any explanation in the filing? Did they switch to US Hemp and cost increased so much? I don't have time to go through filing now.
LOL do you ever even look and analyze financial reports throughout? Like number after number ? Have you ever thought that maybe that cash they spend goes into growing company? Like have you ever look at assets? Probably not because you would notice that all this 'burnt' cash doubled assets of CW within 2 years and went from $100mln to $200mln.. it will go up significantly again on Q2 because of acquisition.. what you call 'cash burning' is actually called growing company but you would have to analyze whole report to realize that.. while CVSI had not only declining sales but also flat assets since Farm Bill.. same $40-50mln for the last 2 years.. zero growth
