We have discussed the implications associated with a reverse stock split extensively over the past couple of years or so.
If we go over this again and are convincing in our argument, it will only drive the share price down further.
LQMT is not a scam.
At the same time one must realize that nasty things are happening to the investment of those of us offering "seed money" early on when a great deal of money is going out and VERY little is coming in.
All of the costs involved in getting this company going we are footing the bill for. As hard as management may be working their compensation comes directly from our investment money.
Part of what needs to happen is to reduce the number of shares of this thing so that the price per share is in the range that the institutional investors will be able to take part in it.
If this happens before meaningful revenue is coming in at an expanding rate?, yes, those of us already in this are toast. If adoption of the new methods in producing parts with the characteristics of amorphous alloys takes off, a reverse stock split is a no brainier.
It seems to me that the money we support LQMT (our company)
with is taken lightly. I am certain that there is a plan to perform a reverse stock split, and the incessant dilution of our holdings is of no apparent consequence to management because we uneducated penny stock "investors" will always be throwing money at exciting opportunities.
We are the owners of this company.
Management does not seem to care about that.
What management does must be in the best interest of the owners of the company, you and me. It seems that things have gotten out of the proper order for this "public" company.
If another big investor comes in, what will happen? Will management simply print off some new shares for them? That is not how it works! Poison pill, my ass!
I'll tell you this, the use of BMG and the many possible manufacturing methods WILL be successful.
LQMT may be successful, however, shareholder value is being taken for a ride.
Yes, I agree with that.
Thanks again to Matt for being on the ball communicating.
Much appreciated!
Thanks for sharing the results of your digging!
I am convinced we are sitting on treasure here.
Opportunities in the software and content providers for AR and VR will be tremendous!
Perhaps spoken too soon.
It is much more exciting to try to jump on a moving train.
Still, with my shaken confidence, self sustaining revenue heading strongly toward profitability seems closer, but that is not yet the reality.
I'm thankful for your input over the years, Watts
That is a SWEET article! Thanks, 3DPI!
People will begin to catch on. Just like with personal computers in the early days, we will get to experience a great shake out, and evolution of the tech and the companies driving it.
Back in 1981 I was invested in Apple and IBM. I did not invest in Microsoft because they named their "new" operating system "Windows". Apple's operating system was already using windows (little w) and that left a bad taste in my mouth. I learned a valuable lesson there and missed an unbelievable opportunity!
We are in for something similar with AR and VR. This is going to be a vicious battle. The outcome may not be as obvious as it might seem.
Buying s basket of carefully selected companies in this space is perhaps a good idea!
Some are big, ... some are small.
I second that emotion.
If Li were investing from the same puddle of shares that we are wallowing in I think that we would be very happy.
It seems like the rules are being rewritten again, and not in our favor.
The current shareholders are being sidestepped.
Good things are happening, however, it minimizes our gain!
I'm still optimistic in the long run. It sure is muddy though.
Thank you for valuable information over a long period of time, Gamesc.
Good stuff!
Nice article by Matt! Thank you.
VUZI management is diligent in partnering and pushing the envelope for applications of the AR platform.
The aggressive forward thinking, the production of product, and reaching out of Paul and company to partner with the best is very exciting in a very exciting time for AR and VR!
I like the Go Pro news.
Yes, thank you for that.
Thanks For the link, L1.
VUZIs long term AR vision of "'normal-looking' glasses that can overlay digital elements on the physical world" is alluded to in Mark Z's 10 year plan.
I believe that VUZI is in a good position.
This is an exciting time. I'm looking forward to Apple's answer to the AR movement in particular, however, none of the large electronics companies are going to want to miss out on the opportunities presented in this space.
Thanks L1!
Then I am missing something. I look forward to hearing more of what others on this board are thinking surrounding the Li transactions and proposals.
Hard to read a crystal ball when it is devoid of even the swirl.
To have a clear understanding of intent and ramifications of Li's actions is what I want before the vote to water down my shares.
I would like to be convinced that the right moves are being made.
Am I missing something?
The quiet is deafening...
The more I think about recent developments the more interesting they seem to me.
Li is brilliant in maximizing his investment.
I certainly see new dangers and opportunities. Someone has his hands on the controls to the floodgates. I swore that I would NOT willingly flow with dilution.
I feel compelled to rethink my stance.
What is the best course for LQMT and for current owners of the company?
Thank you for thoughts.
It is interesting that I agree with you.
I do not like my percentage of the company reduced, however, the likelihood of successful implementation of a working business model appears to be much closer.
I am sure that others could feel the rumble of the ground with Li's approach.
I would like to understand more of your thoughts regarding LQMT and how you expect the companies business model to unfold moving forward.
VUZI is a speculative stock with plenty of anticipation that the company is being led well toward an amazing future.
There is RISK, and the opportunity for great reward.
If you believe that AR will continue toward becoming a standard for the way people do business, and if you believe that AR is the next (optional) interface for the smart phone, that hands free access to data, communication, and entertainment will become indispensable, then VUZI is worth looking at.
The ability to reduce or eliminate the "geek factor" through wave guide technology and VUZI IP is very interesting!
In a competitive push to be early on the playing field VUZI's developments have a lot to offer the large companies competing for this space.
You are right. To invest heavily may be foolhardy. To invest nothing in the AR arena would also, perhaps be a mistake.
VUZI is a pure play in AR and VR. I have confidence in VUZI's management and where we are headed.
I've made my decision to invest in VUZI.
I'm excited about it, however, check it out for your self.
The utility of AR will make that apparent quickly enough.
Very nice!
Each of us owns a percentage of the company.
One of us once owned 10% of LQMT.
With the share count increase each of us will own almost 50% less of the company. I'm not very happy about that.
I am getting excited about changes to the BOD and the possible push to aggressive action moving foreword for this company. I also sense, however, that I am being taken for a fool by a very astute business man and the management of LQMT.
It is a bit foolish to gamble with questionable odds and questionable ethics of management.
I will not be selling.
I am the fool...
I'm watching...
Google Enterprise pushing into the market is going to be challenging for VUZI.
With Alphabet's muscle Google Glass and the future iterations of the tech will likely become the new standard. The other heavy hitters will have to dive into the market NOW or be utterly left behind.
VUZI IP is of tremendous value.
I'm looking forward to watching the unfolding and rolling thunder of AR in the enterprise space, ...and beyond. We are fortunate to have this opportunity to be a part of it.
The competition is fierce with a lot at stake. A buyout of VUZI is logical at this point although I think Paul T would like to take the world by storm in partnership with major companies. This whole space is his baby.
It's really happening! AR and VR take off this year, AR in the enterprise, VR at home, ...for now.
How much is "someone" willing to buy to influence the vote?
Strange things afoot. This will be fun to watch.
I have a hard time believing that I will be convinced to vote for authorization to reduce the value of my investment. What could possibly be said by LQMT management on Wednesday to sway me to that end?!
Is this what "in the shareholders best interest" looks like?
We will be voting.
Will anyone of you be voting to tear in half your already crushed investment? I am fascinated to find out how this can be painted in an attractive manner.
Hope and expectation are very different things.
VUZI is very interesting, and also the AR VR movement as a whole that has begun to roll.
The big picture is coming into focus. Amazing that anyone would not be interested.
VR will take off, however, AR will be a much bigger deal in the long run.
Allowing us to interact with the real world with access to communication and data, hands free for work, play, education and community, AR is the obvious evolution of the cell phone.
I'm interested!
Thanks for the heads up NJM.
I'm there with you.
Sometimes I put on new clothes, ...and then jump right back into the LQMT puddle.
As long as the puddle doesn't go over my head, right?
Hey, ...is this puddle in the road with the bus?
Right on, Spartan!
Long history and worn down investors, along with the anticipation of a reverse stock split to "clean up" the mess is taking a toll, don't you think?
I'm beginning to look forward to a RS. That should not happen until LQMT has some serious traction. That will feel like the rug being yanked out from under the current investors feet, just as we thought we were getting a secure footing.
Following the RS things may become a lot brighter once the dust settles, ...if management does it well, and are able to bring in long term self sustaining revenue!
For current investors, I think we know that we are going to get dirty. I just hope we don't get hosed.
Don't you think that a lot of folks are interested, but waiting?
I'm doing a little of both.
Ring a bell?
Some posts ring a LQMT bell that resonate, producing echoes that reflect and endure for quite some time.
Glad to see you here, Watts.
When the big partners show this kind of support for something that may keep LQMT afloat I feel much more comfortable with my long term gamble.
We are still at the beginning of something big in potential land.
Still, I like to believe I see things beginning to gel. The tide rolls in, and rolls away again. There are too many other things to do while the LQMT saga drags on.
Real concrete positive revenue numbers and a clear vision for a bright future would be nice!
Watching (and more than that) MTRN is a good idea as well.
Ho, ho, ho! We shall see.
Very entertaining, ...from a distance.
I'm aquiver with anticipation. It may be fun today.
I'm optimistic, but you know that. LQMT balances on a knife edge. I'm betting that we fall in a profitable direction.
When the share price falls like this and takes the wind from the sails, it is hard for me to believe that I'm going to buy more LQMT.
...but, I am.
Thanks for the rational reply. Very much appreciated.
Fun post, Jay. It is interesting that many great things are coming to light and the PPS spirals down.
How many are waiting for a post RSS opportunity?
I'm risking plenty right now and considering more. I would jump on a post RSS drop! If something spectacular happens to bring in significant revenue and future promise first, I don't want to miss that either.
Risky times, but, possibly what I have been waiting for. When it seems like it is getting dark, even with accelerated progress toward profitability, it's time for me to buy some.
Remember when the PPS was much higher and many were wishing for a price drop so that we could buy more?
It's not easy, but here it is.
Of course, I would not be surprised by $0.03 either. I would certainly like to see insiders buying.
I don't want to lead anyone into trouble, however, it feels like the ground is beginning to rumble.
I think something is coming.
