Yeah you must be right. No one listens to them so they only decided to pay Anthony $3 million/year.
I think I'm going to buy another 2.5M next week then another 4-5M at the end of July depending on the price.
So what. The problem isn't people like you that haven't listened to the show, you don't matter in this case. The problem is the people that DO listen to the show and are canceling their subscriptions.
You sure are. Why do you feel the need to attack and call names to defend your position? It's clear the company is losing revenue over this so I'm not sure why you seem to think it won't matter.
Yes, the decline was a result of the uncertainty created by a move that was bad for business. What do you think the news was released under investor relations for?
Umm, have you not seen the stock decline? I have plenty to back up what I have said. I also brought up the fact that it wasn't just this one host or show, Howard Stern is now on a part time schedule.
When the show you want to listen to is available on another platform you would just switch to that platform, it's really easy, cheaper, and much more convenient. The hard core fans will be the ones to bail first but as time goes on the casual listener is going to realize that there isn't a train to pay for listening to music that they can get for free. This will cause a decline in revenue over a few months and not just what we are seeing right now. Then what happens as the other 2 hosts leave or Howard Stern leaves or they demand a much higher salary? I'm not saying it will bankrupt SIRI but it will have significant repercussions on their stockholders.
There is a big difference though. You would have to compare Fox News leaving Dish Network and only being broadcast on Direct TV. Now how many are going to leave Dish and what will that do to their revenue long term? The firing clearly had an immediate impact on the PPS and there is still more to come when we see the decreased revenue due to cancellations and free service they had to give out to keep people.
There will be a little time before that happens. I was hoping for some more 3's.
Digging into this a little more it appears that the other two hosts, Opie and Jim Norton are only under contract for a few more months. Anthony has made it clear that he will be doing a paid podcast that will be cheaper than Sirius which would clearly open the door for the other guys to leave and join him. This looks very bad long term for Sirius and when you take into account the other big draw, Howard Stern is already on a part time schedule. He is on the TV show which has much more potential so there is concern about his future as well. Podcasts are cheaper, more convenient, gaining more content, and more celebrities are starting them it will mean big trouble for SIRI.
They know what's coming too.
The earnings from the 2nd quarter. Their industry has been doing very well this year so we should see some good numbers.
We have a little time before the real run goes, patience is key.
Why do you keep bringing up unrelated nonsense? Why would someone that is getting punched take a picture? He would be focused on protecting himself, his camera, or the gun he had on him. Subscribers leaving is OK with you? That is exactly what we don't need because it brings down the main source of revenue.
What aren't you understanding about the fact that their show was liked by a huge audience? It doesn't matter what you think, not even a little. The only thing that matters here is the amount of subscribers that stay and keep bringing in revenue.
The investors are going to whether you like him or not. Look at that price going down. This is only the beginning, SIRI was giving out free subscriptions to get people to stay, lost subscribers, and lost ad revenue all spell disaster.
Yeah, you must be right. How could talking to multiple people that deal with the EXACT information I need help me get the information? The great investors have always just sat back and waited for information to come in so that they could do everything that everyone else was doing. I think Warren Buffett follows that example and has been quoted saying I guess I'll see when everyone else does. LOL, some people just don't get it.
You can't compare 2 risky different worlds. That show was targeted to be on XM specifically because they were more outrageous or edgy than the others and came with a huge fan base. Opie has not been fired but apparently has a meeting tomorrow which will give a much better idea of what the rest of the story will be.
It is a fact, like I said do the same thing. The reps are easy to talk to and very helpful, make a few calls so that you get a better idea.
You keep repeating the same stuff but anyone that knows anything about radio and its history knows that is simply not true. The ability for a radio company to bring in talent that will appeal to millions of fans and get them to pay a monthly fee to listen is incredibly rare and the only other show to accomplish this is Howard Stern.
The obvious answer for Sirius was to go with a suspension. People were only going to be mad for a couple of days then they would have moved on as they always do. Call Sirius if you subscribe and tell them that you want to cancel and ask if they are having lots of cancellations. I was told multiple times by the reps that they were getting lots of people leaving over this.
It's great that you feel good about just repeating what you hear from celebrity gossip sites but the actual facts spell out another story. It doesn't matter either way because this is going to hurt the stock.
My posts were related to business not the person so I'm not sure why you think he is my hero. Oddly enough the posts here saying it won't hurt the price are only claiming he is a racist but have nothing to do with business, very strange that "investors" like you wouldn't be concerned by the loss in revenue. Look into the amount of cancellations going on, it is going to hit them harder than you or SiriusXM thought.
Where do you come up with this? Why are you just completely fabricating lies? He was WAY more popular than Opie.
The entire show is going to be done, they are going to lose quite a few subscribers which is going to decrease revenues. It is going to hurt this stock and there is no question about that because as you stated there is no new talent to take their place. What are subscribers going to do? Pay to listen to the exact same music add they could hear on FM for free? Yeah right.
Well since it already went well past your estimate we know that you are clearly wrong and don't understand the business.
It wouldn't have mattered if they stayed, people would have been upset for 2 days then moved on. These guys got their fans by not playing it safe, playing it safe is what you hear on any FM radio station so people aren't paying to hear the same stuff.
You clearly just don't understand what is happening, this wasn't just a DJ that was fired.
Podcasting is on its way to becoming big competition. Firing one of your top draws is just a boneheaded move and shareholders will pay the price. Once you take into consideration AAPL's desire it spells disaster for this stock.
Not even close to being true. Look into the radio world and you will see that they were a huge monetary draw and not replaceable. Time to get out of this turd before it heads back into the basement.
Hahaha! Easily replaced? Really? If it wee that easy then there would be other big names out there that people would know. This was a really, really dumb decision and the company is going to take a big hit financially.
Don't buy into the lie, a R/S is bad 99.99% of the time. People that try to spread that lie are usually hoping they can sell their shares before you. Companies like this will do a R/S then turn around and start dumping shares again to raise money. If you think a R/S is going to happen then just get out fast.
Well I got the rest of my shares this morning. Now it's time to just sit back and wait a little while for this thing to go on a nice run.
There are only 1.8 billion AS, they would be more likely to increase the AS.
I just got the 499,900 shares, I reviewed my order and realized I apparently hit All Or None. Now I just need a couple million more.
Trying for 2.5 million.
So not very many are getting filled. I guess I will have to bump it up and just buy 4's.
Over what period of time were those filled? I have had my order for 3's in for days.
If they were trying to dump them people would have their orders filled @ .0003.
I've had my order in for 3's for awhile but no luck so far.
