The story just keeps getting better and better. We have all this great IP and our pps barely equals the value of AVID. TW
Katie, do you have any idea what T4 was suggesting when he said that "PPHM had problems with their cell line, technical issues..." ? RB message #156778. Thanks, TW
Amen. Happy New Year to all! 2005 can't get here fast enough. TW
Ken, looks like we are starting to build the other wall of the cup & handle pattern. Bullish. ADX just crossed positive on the daily. Can news be far away? Doubt it. TW
Katie, I would be very surprised that a scientist of Thorpe's stature would not have foreseen that this issue needed to be addressed. TW
Ken, Katie, all PPHMer's... MERRY CHRISTMAS, SEASONS GREETINGS AND ALL THE BEST FOR THE NEW YEAR TW
Ken, you mission is to close PPHM at 1.20 or above for the week. If you do that, I expect that next week will be a good one. If the Tustin boys ever get their act together, January could be a very good month but the "shelf" will be waiting for us unless Katie's BP deal comes to pass and the "shelf" is not dumped on the market. I don't know about you but I could use a cup of Katie's eggnog. TW
Ken, looks like 1.10 to 1.12 support may hold. If it does, we can rally a little bit. TW
Terry, I am having a real hard time defending management's actions if there is not a deal on the table. The only thing I believe in at this point is Thorpe's work. TW
If they have over 10 million on hand, OPERATIONAL funding does not require a 12 million shelf right now. Since they won't tell us what is going on, I will assume a leveraged deal is close with BP. TW
Ken, I confess I am searching for an explanation for the 1,2 punch of management of the stockholders. I hope they have a deal on the table and the shelf will go to a DNA type BP pending approval of the IND. Right now we are in an info vacuum and SK apparently wants us to guess. From a TA perspective he is doing a great job of sending us back to a 1.00 . TW
12 million shelf registraion. SK just keeps on giving. TW
Katie, Does U. of Texas Southwestern have any leverage to kick PPHM's management in the ### to get this mule going. While the FDA may be a problem, our management is in slow motion. Maybe the end result will be for BP to do a hostile and some of our boys can look for work. We won't like the price but it will be better than 1.25. TW
Katie, I am assuming that your statement about BP at the table relates to the idea that we would have seen another put if some type of deal with BP wasn't close. Sell the shelf to them instead of ES and his pals. If PPHM doesn't get a deal done in the next 2 or 3 months, the puts will atart again. Why do you think DNA is sniffin' around? It would be a good fit given their work in this area. Do you think the viral will be held back? If DNA wants part of that, they should really have to pay. TW
Ken., Just for fun- Watch "The Replacements" w/ Gene Hackman. Then You will understand the management of the Co. Pay attention to the ending. It will not be prettty along the way. That's where we are going. TW
Ken, thanks for the info. My take on this event is similar to Katie's. I expect a lot of news in January. I work with corp. execs all the time. They want "their $$$" especially if they will eventually position the Co. for sale. I don't know the time line, but my shares are not for sale. TW
Ken, nice work on the chart. I know, baby steps. It works for me. TW
Ken, great find. Looks a little like ES. LOL TW
Ken, great find. Looks a little like ES. TW
CJ, I am treating the S-8 is the equivalent of an "insider buy." From a TA perspective you often see volume spikes to the upside with the stock drifting back down ahead of the news, sometimes months ahead of time. These volume spikes happen for no apparent reason. What is amazing is the fact that management may FINALLY be aligned on our side so I am looking for some nice price appreciation in 2005. Hopefully, the dilution of 2004 is over. TW
Katie, obviously PPHM needs money for a host of reasons. Could they not limp along until phase 1 is completed for Tarvacin to get in bed with big pharma? What's the immediate urgency? Maybe they want to get the viral indication going for 3G4. TW
Katie, great post. Making pharma pay a nice premium for the shares to get a piece of the pie is a great idea. Our share price will also move up very quickly. If our boys really have that much confidence in the technology, I hope they make 'em pay! Your insight into their feelings is most helpful. Thanks. TW
Am I the only one who noticed the price drop and volume in front of the S-8. ES looks like a real smart insider. Oops. I forgot. He is one. . What a leaky operation. TW
Ken, I like the charts, but I don't like the part where PPHM went down today. Can't you tweek it a little bit where it goes up? TW
Katie, I think your instincts and understanding of human nature are both very good. They have a brief window to get this done this cheaply(price of the option) before word on the IND comes out and the price goes up. I think the price would have been higher in January had they chosen to wait til then. I am willing to bet that the amended protocol got filed today so there was some urgency to get this done. Would not want to be short the stock now. TW
Katie, any opinion on whether the amended protocol has been submitted to the FDA "near term." If the FDA slows down for the holidays, it makes it hard to get the green light until the week of the 27th of December at the earliest. TW
Ken, that is amazing. What ever happened to free speech and all that stuff? The more ideas, the better. TW
Ken, as you know we haven't built the other wall of the cup. I am calling the pattern early because you/I don't want to miss the easy $$ when that wall gets built and the pattern becomes apparent. We are still finishing up the bottom of the cup. My money is on the table. I'm trying to imagine how PPHM can screw this up and I can't. However, I'm sure the folks over at RB will explain to me how that can occur. TW
Ken, that is the fun of blending TA with fundie analysis. A TA guy can see the pattern unfolding and the fundie person gives you the reasons why. The ultimate vote is when people vote with their $$. Here we have the type of accumulation that can move us up in a major way. SK needs to light the fuse. I would be very surprised if the move is not well on its way in January. TW
Ken, I guess you could also call it a cup and handle pattern per O'Neil. In any event, it is a very bullish pattern. O'Neil gives an example of the Limited, Inc, from the old days. Stock went up 3500% in 61 months. Sure hope the pattern holds. TW
Ken, looks like we are setting up a little cup and saucer pattern. If we can ever get the base built, the move up will be very nice. Agree that we appear to have very little risk on the down side. TW
Katie, don't mind being wrong about that one at all. Since I worship at the temple of the "Thorpe," Cotara is just an unexpected bonus that I am not counting on. Hope it works out. Green light on Tarvacin would be a nice Christmas present. TW
Terry, I also believe that someone has an idea on how to do it a little differently so they don't get the boys so excited at the FDA about the dose. Isn't that where the FDA hit the panic button before? TW
Terry, JMHO, it's a do over since they don't have much confidence in the way that the prior testing was done. TW
Ken, I won't be particularly happy if we are not in the clinic in January. That's my "near term." TW
I think that PPHM is getting ready to crank up the viral indication in 2005. That's the BIG one. TW
Ken, this puppy takes a lot of patience. Chart is ready to go but stuck in waiting mode. Let's hope the FDA puts PPHM out of its misery before Christmas and gives them the green light. There's too much good science in back of Tarvacin. TW
Ken, could not agree more. The management at PPHM needs a lot of work. We will ultimately make a lot of $$ in PPHM because of Thorpe's work. Hopefully, even management cannot screw up science that is that good. TW
Ouch! At least the MACD, STO and ADX are not negative, yet. A little more basing and we can move up. Can't break the strangle hold on us by the traders without some news. Probably come when we least expect it. TW
Ken, good chance we take out the 50 day MA today. Then we have some fun. TW
