A night owl, are you. I ran some bear scans last night. Will post the watch list before the open.
There were a few that gained today.
BIDU - Oh Yeah. Closed on the trend, below the middle bollie. You don't suppose a gap fill is in order, do you?
NRG testing yesterday' low.
EVC - A bottom?
BIDU testing L4.
LOL. I saw BIDU get a plug on CNBC yesterday, so I went to July Puts today. :)))) so far. Might be a great contrary indicator.
But being the contrary guy I am, I just got in the BIDU July 80 Puts. Looking for a return to the lower channel.
Maybe, but I'm beginning to think big furry creatures without horns.
Given the overall market, I'd say that's a very safe bet. Trying to pick up some ISRG July 110 Puts. Need a rally for an entry.
ISRG rolling over.
OIH 15 minute.
Think so.
My setup
Yech, Czech over USA 3-0
Go to OPTIONS|PREFERENCES - Charts tab and select colors for various aspects, I use a black background.
Righto, broke out to the downside.
OIH looks like it might want to turn back up. 2 charts.
I was thinking that there are 3 components of options pricing, time value, intrinsic value, and volatility. As the underlying price moves it seems that the intrinsic value would move the same for options of equal strike. Once in the money, the time value becomes less important, a smaller % of total price, the further into the money it moves, reaching almost 0 at some point deep in the money. It would also seem to me that out of the money, the time value is the biggest % of the option price, because there is no intrinsic value, yet.
It will be interesting to see how it plays out, assuming of course LU goes up in price.
The volatility is what I was thinking about. If LU hits your price target by mid-November, the '07 Calls will have moved more than the '08 Calls. Thinking about it, I suppose when you sell the '08s, you will be selling the time value (Theta?) back so there is no harm, other than the missed runup in price. Small price to pay for the extra security of the longer timeframe.
Good explanation. Thanks.
Watching for a touch of the upper ISRG trend for an entry. OIH, hmmmm, not sure what it is going to do. Watching closely for an entry.
Better than late. :)
ISRG caught in a descending triangle?
Are you buying the '08 Leaps as insurance. The '07 Leaps are half the cost of the '08s and if you intend to sell prior to Jan 2007, I was wondering why you are paying for the extra year's time value?
Mirant pulls offer for NRG - In NRGSI July 45 Puts

Google search those pivots and see how they are used. I like them.
Whoops on those 140's. Gotta go before I make a boneheaded Friday afternoon trade.
Well, the call of the wild golf ball is too strong. You all have a great weekend and watch that last half hour when the day traders start dumping.
Congrats dt on your 140's making in the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
Not really. I read a little about them on the Internet and tried them. They seemed to work pretty well so I just kept on using them.
I use the Camarilla pivots. I bet you use the Pivot Points indicator.
Better to regret not having gotten in than to regret getting in. :)
One day I'll learn to go from Calls to Puts and vice versa.
