Google "new york times jan 29 2014 dr lanza"
gives you the article and more about stem cells in Japan.
Several years ago, Shinya Yamanaka of Kyoto University in Japan and other scientists developed a way to turn cells from the body, such as skin or blood cells, into stem cells, avoiding the need to destroy embryos. That work won Dr. Yamanaka a Nobel Prize.
A surprising study has found that a simple acid bath might turn cells in the body into stem cells that could one day be used for tissue repair and other medical treatments.
The technique, performed only with cells from mice, might turn out to be a quicker and easier source of multipurpose stem cells than methods now in use.
“If reproducible in humans, this could be a paradigm changer,” said Dr. Robert Lanza, chief scientific officer of the biotechnology company Advanced Cell Technology, who was not involved in the work.
The new technique was developed by researchers at the Riken Center for Developmental Biology in Kobe, Japan, and at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston. Two papers by the researchers were published in the journal Nature on Wednesday.
Dr. Charles A. Vacanti, director of the laboratories for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine at Brigham and an author of the studies, said the technique could also raise ethical issues because it might provide an easier way than current cloning techniques of creating a duplicate of an animal, or even a person.
Volume Alert: Advanced Cell Technology (OTCBB: ACTC), a leader in the field of regenerative medicine, traded many times its three month average volume every day this past week - beginning on Monday when ACTC traded more than 72 million shares. The company's Chief Scientific Officer, Dr. Robert Lanza, was also quoted in a New York Times article on Wednesday, January 29th regarding a new stem cell generation process invented by unaffiliated scientists in Japan which could decrease the amount of time and difficulty involved in obtaining stem cells. ACTC closed up $0.02 for the week at $0.08.
Plus making such unsubstantiated claims like those could
get the MB liable for those libelous statements.
I would be careful to allow those kinds of posts.
Ecat - when did Gary depart? Did he die or something?
Or is he on a worldwide cruise? I am sure there are a lot
of people thinking he should have bought tickets on one of
those sinking ships...
Where can you get and still buy those tickets. I think
I would buy one for at least one of the posters on this board.
Do you have your spirits down because of those sinking ship
posts? Just look at it as the joke of the day and add it
to the rest of your humor posts. I just had a look at his
pic with half McDonalds arches. I wonder what he did with
the other half. Lol
And consider my pic as the "allure of the seas" I posted
once before and it seems it is very appropriate today.
When it comes to salaries for a CEO companies have many
means at their disposal to hire someone. Stock, stock options
future earnings(percentage) and on and on. Just hope it
is someone with less greed than GR.
That isn't the problem with finding someone..It is finding
someone with good/right qualifications and qualities that
can increase Dr. Lanza's stature and not their own pocket
linings.
picked some up at .073 to OWN it yesterday
thnx
Lol Lol
ACTC is working on more than treatments for
macular degeneration.
Here is my one thing for you. there are plenty more
Lol Lol Lol
Dr. Lanza is 4th in the list of scientists working
on stem cell research.
Here is my one thing for you. there are plenty more
I edited my other post because for some reason - duplicate
post
To get rid of the confusion...

Exciting Being on Upcoming ‘Through the Wormhole’ Stem Cells Episode
Posted on January 26, 2014
Through the WormholeIn the summer of 2013, the producer and crew of the Discovery Channel’s Through the Wormhole filmed two times at my house for a special episode on stem cells.
I think it’s going to be a great show.
The stem cell episode will first air on the Science/Discovery Channel on Feb. 3 (check your local listings for time). Update: on West Coast, Comcast has Science Channel most often as Channel 272. I saw an ad for the stem cell episode saying 10PM (not sure if 10PM also West Coast or 7PM PT) on Feb. 3.
The episode includes me in a segment on cancer stem cells amongst other topics. The filming was a lot of fun, but also quite a bit of hard work. We filmed the first day for a whole day during a heat wave. I have a new appreciation for how challenging it is to put together a TV show. I was really impressed with the producer and the crew.
The show will also feature Stephen Hawking as well as Bob Lanza of Advanced Cell Technology. It’s exciting to be in a show with such illustrious company!
How about $0.095 on Friday as posted on another MB.
I would rather support that than sinking ships...Lol
and even up the anti for $0.10 for Tuesday.
Apparently NOT -- There is a doctor who posted on another
MB that the new NEJLM come out on Thursdays and as a doctor
he gets it a day earlier and nothing about ACTC.
Maybe next week
And Ddls is as annoying as a bunch of mosquitoes that you
cant get rid of with his constant posts of sinking ships
We hear you already...So you lost some money on this stock
grow up and be like an adult, not someone in pre-school.
stop loss becomes a market order, when the price is
triggered. so care must be used.
benin...I think the TV show is February 3 - Monday
but check it out for sure...
You can also follow Dr Lanza...here...

Killtoy you have to
1. stay on the MB
2. put the ones you really dislike on IGNORE
3. read just the posts that are of interest to you
4. post things that you see we all could benefit from
Your contributions are welcome
Thnx and don't let a bunch of spammers scare you off
just when the news is getting better and hopefully a pps
increase.
The New Chairman of the Board of Directors of ACTC, Michael Heffernan
Our new Chairman, slips down the chimney on the Eve of Christmas Eve, 2013... Nope, check that... Now go back when the leaves were falling here in Portland. Too much. Here is his profile from the company's web-site (which still lists GR as COB). I discovered the change in management by chance and ACTC_Fan confirmed it just hours later. I guess we would have learned at the Year End Conference at the latest. So it was coming in February. Anyway onto the new Chairman and in a positive light:
Michael Heffernan
Michael Heffernan has 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and related healthcare industries. He is currently Co-Founder, President, CEO of Collegium Pharmaceutical. Collegium is specialty pharmaceutical company focused on the development of pharmaceutical products for the treatment of chronic pain. He was also previously the founder, President and CEO of Onset Therapeutics, a dermatology focused company that develops and commercializes products for the treatment of skin related illnesses and was responsible for the spin-off of this business to create PreCision Dermatology. Michael held prior positions as Co-Founder, President and CEO of Clinical Studies Ltd., a pharmaceutical contract research organization that he successfully sold. He also served as President and CEO of PhyMatrix, a public $400 million integrated healthcare services company where he was hired to restructure the company.
Michael started his career at Eli Lilly and Company and served in numerous sales and marketing roles. He has also been a member of the Board of Directors, Advisor and Angel Investor in a number of healthcare companies. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of TyRx, a venture backed medical device company, Cornerstone Therapeutics (NASDAQ:CRTX), a specialty pharmaceutical company and PreCision Dermatology. Michael earned his B.S. Degree in Pharmacy from the University of Connecticut and is a Registered Pharmacist.
Nothing like posting new up-to-date (3 months ago) information.
Seems I read this stuff at least 3 months ago with exception of
GR leaving which just happened.
Finances were confirmed as being ok Not this nonsense.

Would that make a difference if the balloon was the size
of the moon??? Lol Lol
For the millionth time Crawford....can you please tell us
when they are going to release the data.
Thanks in advance and Lol re the above...Lol
Capt...I mentioned this before...
remember there are quite a few patents involved in these
procedures. Most were done by Dr. Lanza. But since he is
in the employ of ACTC, the patents belong to ACTC.
Now for him to go elsewhere and start over...I don't think so.
Dr. Lanza isn't in this for public speaking, otherwise
he would be with "Toastmasters" and not on TV show with
Hawking.
Capt how did you make out with the Concordia? Was
that you who piloted the ship?
kittycat....why would you sell when you know that that the
TV show with Hawkings is just around the corner with lots
of exposure.
The show will give Dr. Lanza a lot of exposure and certainly
will be shown around to other companies.
Remember Dr. Lanza is rated 4th in stem cell research. Very
high in my opinion.
Don't know where this comes from but,
I have 10,000 traded @ .0591
probably a correction trade from Friday
Also showing here on iHub.
and .064/.065
It is just as easy to put him on IGNORE and his posts...will
be to himself alone.
Please everyone don't reply to any of his posts. I for one
don't want to see his posts or your replies to his posts.
Sorry - I posted this before seeing the other posts regarding
IGNORE.
If no one reads his posts and don't reply to his posts
he is going to realize at some point that he is talking to
himself. Going to be a lonely poster at that time.
Hey DDLS Think positive thoughts. You might even recover
the money that you lost and it is possible you might even
make some money.
What you have to learn is probably everyone on this MB has
at some time LOST some money on a stock. That is the stock
market. Grow up and act like a grown up human being and have
some respect for others on this MB.
When you show disrespect for Dr. Lanza, that to me is the
biggest insult to a brilliant man. Not too many like him
around devoting his life's work for the good of mankind/
womankind.
Loci - known as flogging a dead horse.
He has gone beyond that. I have him on IGNORE and would
hope that others here don't respond to his posts.
Because that exposes me to his ships. I think someone
posted that he bought ACTC at a lot higher price and with
losing money, he thinks that by mouthing the company he will
accomplish something.
But just the opposite is happening. You would think that
if I bought a company stock and was losing money on it, I would
go out and find everything/anything positive about the company
that would make the pps go UP.
In his case he is badmouthing not just the company but a renowned
scientist that is tops in his line of work. How that makes any
sense to anyone is beyond me.
My admiration for Dr. Lanza cannot be any higher.
Having known/know 2 people with MD, I am hoping that this process
helps and cures my friend. I would actually like to see him
driving again. He served in Air Force protecting our country
and deserves better in his latter years.
So before you post any more pictures of ships, just think
you aren't immune to getting MD and quite possibly this could be
a cure that you might end up praying for.
You forget something...there are many, many patents with these
procedures mostly by Dr. Lanza. The beauty of that is the
patents are probably registered by the company he works for
and that happens to be ACTC.
The patents are worth quite a lot of money, that people forget
belong to the company..
Like I said before ACTC is Dr. Lanza
or is it the other way around Dr. Lanza is ACTC...
And what if they make him CEO...
I don't think he is going anywhere.
Too interested in saving peoples sight.
G3trich...you posted the article just a minute before I was
about to post. And, yes it is a good article.
What is most interesting is the people at SA still think it
is worthwhile investing in it all because of Dr. Lanza.
I too have some, but not as much as I would like to have.
The one thing I have learned in the market is when you have
a company in your pocket so to speak keep it and follow it
closely. We bought our first house with just this type of
company stock. Patience is what is needed and you have to
ignore the hype on MB's because there are ones who want to
accumulate stock as cheaply as they can.
And don't speculate with money you cant afford to lose.
Right now ACTC is in accumulation phase. But like I said
patience is what is needed. I once bought a $40 stock and
was extremely happy when it went to $160. Unfortunately
had I done my own DD and not listened to the MBs I would have
had it all the way up to $400.
So with ACTC I am just sitting back patiently waiting and
ignoring ships and such.
The company will do what it is going to do and the price will
take care of itself. As the article states, the company is
Dr. Lanza.
in regards to your hypothetical question...
I have another OTC stock that I have had for quite some time
but there is rumor that might be a takeover..I am just wondering
what would be acceptable for me as I do have a fair number of
shares and have held for a few years.
You can see on two MB's - one here on ihub and the other on
yahoo(where the rumor was just posted).
I reluctantly post the company name and this is not a recommendation for purchase, even though the company has a machine
that I believed and still do was better than sliced bread.
The company Enviro Voraxial Technology the stock symbol
is EVTN and trades on OTC. What I would like is for you
elysse to look at it and speculate along with me for what
you think it is worth.
The machine pictured on their web site sells for aprox $1million.
ACTC is all about Lanza. The rest is just speculation.
Whether another CEO, financing or other scientists involved.
Who knows what Lanza is like so there is no point in guessing
whether people get along with him or not. He lives in a different
world and his thoughts certainly are different from yours and mine.
I know when I am working on a "problem/situation" I shut everything
else out, so as not to complicate my thoughts. On a number
of occasions I have fallen asleep with a problem and woke up
in the middle of the night with a solution.
That is the world of problem solving. I am sure his thoughts
are directed at cures for AMD a SMD. Any variance may alter
the results of his thinking.
For me ACTC is Lanza and until that association ends I will
continue to follow this company. So to have gotten rid of
GR solves many difficult financial problems. Greed is funny.
I cant imagine what it is like to do what he has done under the
noses of everyone concerned and not expect repercussions.
He is a total idiot.
Farvh....My post wasn't a post to sell the stock.
It was a cautionary note. I know if something good comes
from the TRIALS and with the R/S it could make a big difference
in the pps. But any bad news watch out below as it will have
a longer drop.
Just trying to make everyone aware that the R/S in itself
doesn't do anything. It certainly will make a difference
for uplisting. On its own..probably wont happen.
Sometimes it is hard to post something without going to the
sinking ship pictures...Lol.
I don't have as much shares as I would like but I bot it
purely for spec and just to keep interest in it(market).
I have other stocks and another otc that I have been following
for quite some time. So this isn't anything new for me.
And when people expect something to happen because of an event,
for example G.R. leaving.., a few thought this would make the
pps fly. I didn't and felt it would be doing what it is doing.
Replacing uncertainty with more uncertainty never works.
Farv....I don't know why you and others are so hell bent
on getting the r/s done...
If you aren't familiar with a r/s look it up...better known
as "kiss of death" for a company doing r/s. I would rather
just see this continue and move up a little. I know 10 years
is a long time to have money tied up. but look on the brighter
side -- things have yet to come out re tests.
Crawford - thanks for the heads up. But I have been in
this nonsense for a loooooonnnnnggg time and nothing surprises me.
I forgot and didn't notice that the post was from 2013/06 and was
pointed out by Gastrodamas. Just trying to be helpful here and
sometimes that doesn't work out. Appreciate those that do point
things out and correct things. Don't want to post misinformation.
My apologies. I guess I am as anxious as everyone else wanting
to hear something positive about the company and the results from
the tests.
My interest was because I have a friend who has MacD and my wife's
mother also suffered with it. Not very pleasant. The centre of
vision is obstructed and in order to see/watch TV they would have
to look at the TV set kind of at an angle.
And of course loss
of vision you cant drive. And, he is a veteran, so I am hoping for
the best for him. But he doesn't get too excited with this and
as he says he has been through this type of stuff before with no
results. His wife does all the driving.
Hey that is not very nice...LOL
I didn't own the stock back in June and didn't read MB at
that time. So for me and maybe others it was something "new"
I try and post things that I see currently and if it happens
that it is old news, just read it and forgetaboutit.
