Thanks! Workin at it!
Sold my AA after 1 month. 9%
Been on the road. Thanks for the reply.
Eric, what are your thoughts on this regarding this thread about ECRI??
well, as per businesscycle.com (ECRI) which has never been wrong (not kidding) predicting the direction of the economy about six months ahead of time with their leading indicator, the US will be in a recession in about two months. They made the recession call at the end of September, but remember they are about six months ahead. Going back six months from today, their indicator was at a positive 1.7, two months after that it dropped to a negative 10. In the next two months the economy will literally fall off a cliff according to them. I listen to them because as I mentioned, they have never been wrong and have been doing this for a long, long time. Typically a negative 7 reading or lower is a recession.

Oh man, that's an old one!!! Too funny!
Alcoa that is
AA is Alco Aluminum, not American Airlines
$10 was my goal, but sell the news made me ask. Thanks for the input.
I guess I type too fast. Sell or hold???
ll or hold AA thru earnings? Suggestions?
Overhaul to make things LOOK better ??
I have become emotionally distressed reading all of that! Lawsuit!! Ha
Merry Christmas all! Hope everyone has a safe and joyous weekend!
Dangit! That's what I was hoping for out of AA! Nice job!
Thanks. I'll hang in there. I was just hopeing for that 3% trade on my first one back in the market. I'll stick with the plan of adding at lower levels. I know it's still a good buy, and worst case, time is on my side in this one.
It does. Thought I would be interested in adding at $8 and hopefully not have to think about adding at $7. What ya think?
Looks like my first trade back in the market (AA) is going to be somewhat long-term the way it's acting. I am THE contrarian indicator thank you! Sheesh
Hope so
Thanks Eric. My order filled yesterday at $9.04. Like I said, Murphy stays close by always (down market today after my first trade in 2 years) . I'm not concerned about it tho. I feel pretty good and if it drops down to 8 or below, I'll pick up some more and hold til $10-11.
I carry that Murphy guy around in my back pocket most days!
Looking hard at AA still. Any thoughts? Soon as I buy, you can bet the market will drop straight to 5000!!!
Like I said, don't post much but I've been reading since, what, Rageing Bull? You crack me up. I laughed out loud at that one!
ok. Thanks
Do you have a new entry point in AA?
I'm going to watch folks scurry for the doors and say down 450 ish
Heck on em all
Voe out all incumbents.
Big slide into the close, or the usual bounce back to close up 250 for the day? Anyone care to take a stab at it?
Yep, I'm in East Alabama and we've known for sometime it has been on the way. Heck, it's only $4 bill. Ben could've printed that overnight Could be an open door for other cash strapped municipalities to follow.
By Wallace Witkowski SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Alabama's Jefferson County, which includes Birmingham, the state's largest city, will file for bankruptcy, the Birmingham News reported in its online edition late Wednesday. The $4.1 billion bankruptcy would rank as the largest municipal-bankruptcy filing in U.S. history, edging out the largest-to-date 1994 filing by Orange County, Calif., which had $1.64 billion in investment losses. The Jefferson County Commission voted 4 to 1 in favor of the filing, according to the newspaper. The county is saddled with $3.14 billion in debt for the expansion and repair of its sewer system.
HERE WE GO
How much is that 50% and who are the big players??
yea, futures up 250, we'll probably close down 500
What is ECRI looking like to you? Forecasting recession yet?
Should have been obvious to me why the market went up over 600 in a day and half, what with all the good news that has been hitting the market.
Oh, yea, never mind. We were just at 10400 Wednesday. Stupid me
Back to 10,600 we go again so soon maybe??
