PHOENIX, AZ--(MARKET WIRE)--Jul 25, 2006 -- MediaMax Technology Corp. (OTC BB:MMXT.OB - News) along with its technology partner, SunnComm International (Other OTC:SCMI.PK - News), has launched an aggressive sales and marketing campaign to promote several new products including OctiPod(TM) enhanced DVD, CD Enhancement and viral marketing technologies and All*Play(TM) technologies. "Response to our new product line has been nothing short of phenomenal," says MediaMax President Scott Stoegbauer. "Our new products have created interest within more than a dozen national corporations inside our target market segment and we expect to begin contract negotiations with several of them shortly. This targeted marketing effort and the associated realignment will be guided and expanded upon by a new interim management team."
No, I haven't seen the products, but there are reports from the company that they exist. Acting on these in light of the past might be considered by some, foolish, but certainly not insider trading. Get real.
And no, I'm not buying. I'm in the "show me" phase.
OT (sorta): Groveswise,
I've been out all day, and just got caught up on the posts. Let me attempt to clarify without, hopefully, starting the discussion all over again. There are maybe 2 or 3 folks here that are longer this stock than I, Bleudeuce being one, I think Sting and I are about even. I am not selling. I have had many conflicts with the poster you mention, and am well acquainted with his motives. That said, the moderator rules must be applied (as much as is humanly possible), evenly. I, myself have had posts removed (by Matt) for posting as to this guys activities on other boards. Now, if we, the mods, don't fairly apply the IHUB rules, Matt would appoint new mods, and rightly so. Hope this clarifies.
Most of this post deserved to stay, so I'll repeat it here:

Don't remember who posted regarding the "new products" not being on the website...I thought that was a good question. So while I was perusing SunnComm's site I figured I'd try ask the Prez. I didn't count on an answer since the last and only question was a while back.
Imagine my surprise when I got an email answer back the same day.

Subject: SunnComm's Answer to Your Question
Hello ************,
We're working to update the websites as I write this and expect you will
see updates continuing to happen shortly.
We're all very excited about our new product entries and as sales for
these products begin rolling in, I expect our shareholders to be excited
as well.
Thanks for writing.
Now some here will whine that the message doesn't really say anything...more in the future stuff.
To me, it's not what the message said...it's that someone at the company sent me a response the same day I sent them the question. Would a company that doesn't give a **** do that? Or would this aspect of customer relations be one of the first things to go? Food for thought...you decide. I just thought I would pass on the info.
G
Well, I believe this to be more factual,
as opposed to opinion.
Can't speak for Sting,
but personally, my impression at the time was one of optimism. I researched K. on the net and he seems to have been successful at
several different endeavors. At the time I felt that a change in management was what we needed. (Still do). I don't know what happened here, but the rumors I've heard about K. working for interests not in our best interest seem to make the most sense.
While I don't share Sting's optimism, I still think the company could make it, and it sure gets old watching you guys attack him just because he continues to believe.
Ah, so now you are personally acquainted with Kevin?
And personally informed on these matters? LOL! Or did you mean to state that these are allegations made in public documents?
One potential customer?
Problem with that is many of us were told that we had as many as three of the top five labels ready to sign. Yes, we may be undervalued, but the real problem with the SP has been unrealistic announcements and rumors spread from some in the company. The company has lost credibility and rightfully so, IMO.
Just the facts, please.
LOL! Oh well,
it's just money.
I'm giving it til the end of the year, Doc.
No reason not to. There's still hope, and to get out sooner makes no sense. If I'm gonna bail, it will be to use the loss on my taxes.
Amen to that.
Yes,
but I thought it would have happened before. I'm in "show me"
mode.
News: MediaMax Focuses on New Revenue Opportunities
Merger Plan Outlines Interim Management Team
The industry-wide developments of last November forced both companies to rethink their goal of protecting music CDs while offering consumers value added features and viable alternatives to use the content in an authorized way. Scott Stoegbauer continues, "In the past, our goal focused on slowing down unauthorized copying of our customers' music that represented losses of millions of dollars in the music industry. However, over the past 8 months, the companies have sought to diversify their product offerings. Both companies had shifted some of their resources toward research and development in less controversial sectors of the home entertainment industry. As previously reported, the result is a group of products that provide enabling and enhancement capabilities to producers of music CDs, movie DVDs and, in the near future, legal music downloads."
The modified plan for the proposed merger between MediaMax and SunnComm is expected to become effective as soon as possible, allowing an interim management team to assume day-to-day operations of both companies during the final phases of the planned merger and to continue the execution and refinement of the marketing strategy for the new product line.
The responsible executives on the interim management team are:
Peter H Jacobs, current president of SunnComm
Scott Stoegbauer, current president of MediaMax
Michal Avniel, currently a vice president at SunnComm
Ron Phillips, currently a development manager at SunnComm
Neal Meyer, currently a lead developer at SunnComm
Jim Dizoglio, a senior software engineer at SunnComm
Resumes for the senior officers can be found on their respective company's web sites; Mr. Phillips came to SunnComm via Compaq and Hewlett-Packard; Mr. Meyer came directly from Intel Corporation and Mr. Dizoglio came from Macrovision via Arrow Electronics. A brief biography of each of these gentlemen was included in a prior public press release announcing their hiring. This interim management team is also responsible for implementing a structured transition plan to bring the MediaMax from its self-imposed development position to a fully realized technology sales and marketing organization, focused on the commercialization of the new products.
The evolution of the merged companies toward more aggressive sales and marketing includes Eric Vandewater transitioning from CTO of SunnComm to the role of principal technology consultant for the merged company. "I have great confidence in this interim management team -- they have been extremely effective," Mr. Stoegbauer stated. "Their dedication and loyalty 'under fire' virtually guarantees their success as they continue to work with Peter, Michal, Eric and me to bring the combined organization to the next level. The implementation of this interim management team represents a tremendous decrease in overhead, even compared to last year's budget while significantly broadening the company's overall level of experience."
"Sales opportunities for multiple products are being developed, work on substantial anticipated funding is proceeding and both companies are operating leaner than ever with the lowest burn rate in many years," concludes Stoegbauer. "Until the merger is consummated I will, of course, continue to execute my official duties as MediaMax's president, while advancing the company's initiatives. Following the merger's completion, the interim management team will take over management of the combined companies."

If I'm looking at this correctly,
the main issue here would not be the sp at the merge, but rather what you paid for the shares when bought them. In a straight -up 1 for 1 merge, the shares you bought cheapest would become the greater value, yes?
I will.
JR, excellent post.
OT. Thanks Corey,
same to you, and all the other dads here. My three are grown. Two grandsons now.
"That rumor has never been expressed here, not have I heard it expressed in any other forum."
Yes it has. Also on RB as far back as 3 years ago.
"That's not something I have said and I certainly don't hold that opinion."
Yeah, you did: "I guess when you have nothing to counter my arguments, the best thing to do is to make erroneous conclusions on a statement I made and assert that they are my conclusions, then attack them instead of my arguments. You do realize that they are your conclusions, not mine."
"Why have you posed the question to me when it is obvious from this statement that it is you who hold that opinion by implying that I am constantly on the attack by expressing an alternative viewpoint?"
No, I said according to your criteria, it's an attack.
"Why close shop when you can continue to derive salaries in the $100K+ range..."
No, They've taken a voluntary pay-cut.
"...their timetable for delivery is beyond the realms of possibility...
That, of course would be in your opinion, which by your own admission is lacking in info from the company, therefore, at best, an uneducated guess.
neilbolton,
I don't know whether we have other products in the works or not, but it has been rumored for far longer than just since the BMG fiasco.
Since when is an alternative viewpoint "attacking"? If that's the case, you are constantly on the attack. All of you guys who present a defeated perspective immediately counter anyone who posts anything that is in the least positive.
I don't know whether we'll make it or not, but a few things give me optimism. (And no, I'm not listening to Mario or anyone else at the company. I began to take anything they had to say with a "grain of salt" long ago, and have not spoken directly or indirectly with anyone at the company for approx 3 years now.)
For one, the fact that the lights are still on after a series of events that could/would have washed away most companies. Secondly, somebody is clearly, in my opinion, still putting some money into this effort which indicates to me they see something promising.
I'm in for the duration either way.
Once again:
ALL questions, comments, and complaints re: deletions are to be directed to Matt and are considered off topic for the board. It's Matt's rule, not ours.
Sony BMG CD Consolidated Settlement Gets Final Nod
A federal judge on Monday granted final approval at a hearing in federal court in Manhattan to a settlement between Sony BMG Music Entertainment and consumers who filed a class action lawsuit against the world's second-largest music label.
The settlement covers two content-protection technologies, XCP and MediaMax, which Sony BMG included on some music CD titles. The final settlement, approved by federal judge Naomi Reice Buchwald, largely follows terms tentatively agreed to in January, 2006. Under the terms of the settlement there was never any need to recall CDs containing MediaMax software. Also, Sony BMG was not required to make any cash payments to consumers on behalf of SunnComm.
Subsequent extensive third-party testing determined that the MediaMax software and Sony BMG never collected or retained personal data regarding consumers without their consent – contrary to grossly inaccurate and irresponsible stories written in the press stating otherwise.
In a statement Monday, Sony BMG said it was "pleased that the court today granted final approval of the class action settlement of the consolidated cases concerning XCP and MediaMax." The agreement ends a challenging chapter in SunnComm’s history and has provided our Company with the framework and an overview of best practices that will be rigidly adhered to moving forward. According to Peter Jacobs, SunnComm president, “We believe the digital rights of content owners require the same kind of protection one relies upon to guard one’s physical property. We’ve understood all along that standards regarding the protection of CDs would be a ‘work in progress,’ just as with all software. If that weren’t true, Microsoft would have waited for Windows Vista (Microsoft’s replacement for Windows XP).”
Our company has worked for years to establish standards and normalized basic industry requirements. SunnComm took on a pioneering role, early on, in an industry that continues to lose millions of dollars to piracy every year. We’ve taken the fight all the way to congress, but the industry was indecisive and unable to reach a consensus. Thanks, in part, to our pioneering work, along with recent developments like the Sony BMG settlement, standards are finally beginning to emerge. SunnComm is very comfortable with these recently established guidelines and will continue to work with our entertainment industry partners, industry groups and security experts as we implement these best practices. Our goal is to supply the world with the best protection technology available anywhere, and everyone at SunnComm feels this goal is clearly achievable.
MediaMax (V.6) Begins Comprehensive Test Phase
The newest MediaMax version 6 software has been completed and is currently beginning a comprehensive testing regimen. This battle-tested technology provides the foundation for an array of new entertainment enhancement and content protection products and is scheduled for release at the completion of this rigorous testing phase. This next-generation product from SunnComm meets the latest standards and security requirements and is ready for world-wide distribution with great features users will love including Apple iPod support, On-the-Fly Technology™, SecureBurn™ and support for variable bit rates when copying songs, to name just a few features…
SunnComm remains committed to the MediaMax CD copy protection technology. As a matter of fact, copy protection initiatives in Europe, South America, Australia and Asia remain strong and represent a substantially larger market than the U.S. After becoming the most scrutinized copy protection software in the U.S., MediaMax from SunnComm is poised to conquer those international markets. Before the close of this year, SunnComm intends to make its new, consumer-friendly MediaMax V.6 CD copy protection product the #1 choice of record labels throughout the world.

Agree.
Sting, with all due respect,
the fact is we don't know what he has or hasn't done. Period.
I understand everyone's frustration with the silence, but personally I prefer it to the pre-mature predictions of the past, which, IMO, have done more to harm the company's image than perhaps any other single item.
Read it again.
Or perhaps the first time?
A large percentage of comp was voluntarily deferred.
Agree. I think. I hope.
Media Max Edgar filing !!!
http://sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1057024/000119983506000329/mediamax_14c.htm
The thing is...
Kevin may be doing an awesome job. Or not. We simply don't know.
And therein lies the legitimate gripe. However, I am on record saying the silence is a good thing in light of the past debacles resulting from pre-mature, overly-optimistic, "news". I just think everyone felt we would hear something by now. Oh well, I've always said, I'm in, go over or under. It's a pinkie, the potential upside is still there as long as the company keeps the doors open.
We made history today.
I could be mistaken, but I believe this is the first pr we've had that the price didn't go down!
You're out of line.
Sounds like you're the one in too deep.
We're in. Period. Time will tell if we are winners or losers.
All the complaining or cheering won't make a bit of difference.
Agreed.
Maybe YOU should try to find some new material as well.
You should think about getting some new material.
Your repetitive raving is in no way entertaining nor helpful.
Howdy was posting here LONG before we ever heard of Kevin.
The aleged "new products" were posted here by Mario.
Nobody's happy about the current situation, but you are appearing foolish, and more and more becoming personal in your responses to others. Just because we don't agree with someone doesn't make us right. Comprende?
Frankly I wouldn't be surprised either way.
Disappointed perhaps, not surprised.
Thanks,
Happy Easter to you and to all.
Ok, let's leave mrfence alone.
The topic is SCMI.
OT. Yep, just got another myself.
Get this, he's accusing me of being in cahoots with Kenco of all people! LOL!
OT. I didn't know he was.
I do know that he sent me a nasty PM, and included Matt in some childish name calling.
FYI: Placing "OT" in front of a personal attack does not change it from a personal attack. Some of you need to figure out another way to take out your frustrations.
Good question mrfence.
Well kenny? Will you answer this one???
