Looking great, Eddie!
We're having a giveaway over on Country Living in a Cariboo Valley.
A free softcover copy of the Small House Book will be given to the winner.
These Tiny Houses are pretty cool - some are fixed on foundations, but others are totally portable.
Come on over and enter, just follow this link:

It all looks wonderful and delicious, Chris!
Thanks so much for posting this!
In any change, there has to be ONE person to start the movement. I'm glad he is speaking out. I have not heard of him before, but then I am Canadian. I need to read more about him.
Haha, you know you have been bitten by the gardening bug when you think of squash as "shapely young" things....too funny
I hate Monsanto with a passion. Evil corrupt company
Thanks for posting this one moxa, I will put in on my website and on Facebook too.
It's all about the money...I'm PO'ed right along with you.
Unreal. Will they NEVER learn?
You need to get in there and help out. Around here, my hubby will say...well I'm going out to love on the squash, lol
It all looks so nice and healthy Chris. Where are you now? I thought you were still down in SA.
Oh, I agree with what you're saying. I hope it will happen, but I don't think it will.
And please, call me Annie
He should have ended it, but he won't. Truthfully I can't imagine any President having the balls to do that. There is too much money at stake. I hope I am wrong.
A couple of resources for anyone looking to learn more about Monsanto:

No, that's not the same one, although you are right, the 17 mile is a must do as well. They charge for you to go thru, I think it was $7 or so per car when we did it. (And worth every penny, as you drive around Pebble Beach golf course)
The one I was meaning is a self-guided driving tour right through San Fran. You follow street signs that have birds on them (like a seagull in flight).
You can get out to see the sights whereever you want and it takes in pretty much every awesome thing to see in SF - The Presidio, Fisherman's Wharf, Lombard Street (the curvy one), Haight Asbury.
When we went, we had 3 kids with us so it was much easier to do the driving tour on our own. We could stop where we wanted and just drive by the things we wanted to see but not get out to tour it.
San Francisco is an incredibly beautiful city, although Vancouver would run a close second. I'm biased though as I grew up on Vancouver Island.
I'm sorry to hear that, I am in the same boat pretty much. Far too much rain here over the last 3 days.
Happy Father's Day to all you Dads on this board, I hope you have a wonderful day today!
Hmmm, there are already quite a few guides out there on how to grow strawberries. Maybe I need to choose another subject for the next eBook?
Looks wonderful and delicious Chris!
Do you have the program Paint on your computer? If so, you can use it to reduce the size of your photos. It's very easy to use - even I have learned how to use it!
Monsanto executives have been involved deeply in US government administration before Barack's term started.
Check out the connection of Donald Rumsfeld, as just one example.
We enjoyed San Simeon so much, we spent the night. Just so we could take a different tour the next day.
What a magical place it is! Loved the dining room with the bottles of Heinz ketchup!
I can't wait to go back and do the other tours.
But beer is also a relaxant..and if you don't drink too much, it is a sedative :)
(Couldn't resist)
Yes the Redwood Forest is incredible too....if you allow 5 days to do the Journey you will see most of the awesome sights.
You will have to do the San Francisco drive too. I don't remember the name, but if you Google it, you will find it.
It takes you all around the city to all of the sites. It was great for us, as we took the kids along when we went and used our own vehicle.
Thee Monterey Aquarium is something to see as well....just south of SFran.
Thanks Eddie, I'll check out the links
That off road vehicle area is quite incredible!
Biking would be a great way thru JTPark!
Yes we did. We spent almost 2 months down there and we are booked again for next February and March. We love the desert :)
We go down to the Anzo-Borrego desert.
If you get the chance, you simply Have to drive the West Coast. Start close to the top at Astoria Oregon and drive all the way down.
The most incredible coastlines (Oregon and Cali.) - if you drive South on it, you are on the correct side to take all the pullouts to take pics and enjoy the views.
Stop in Carmel, have lunch at Clint Eastwoods' Hog Breath Inn, and carry on down to San Simeon to tour Heart's place. Incredible
Awesome! California is so progressive in this way.
Any places I want to see in the West? is that what u mean?
I would love to do a road trip to see the houses of Frank Lloyd Wright. Falling Water is on my bucket list, but that is in the east.
And spend time exploring the National Parks.
Joshua Tree Park is pretty cool, you must have gone through there already?
bagwa, funny how our "older generations" look at us wondering why the heck we are "farming". We need to remember that those kids couldn't wait to get off the farm.
As to your hops, you should get cones if not this year, then next. We got cuttings from a friend and got cones the same year. Hops is very prolific so be sure to have a strong support for it to grow up.
Are you going to make homemade beer? or use as medicinal?
OK Eddie, I'll do an eBook on it! Thanks for your feedback
There are so many places out East that I would like to see. I have read about so many places in books. Maybe one day :)
If we ever get over to the East Coast, I would love to do a tour at Joel's. One day I hope to.
A couple of berry pictures from my yard today:
High bush Cranberries - we have two of them, you can see the buds starting.
My Raspberries are doing very well. Getting bushy and there are flower buds on there.
The Strawberries are flowering, hopefully we get some heat happening so that things can really get growing here.
Do you know how to grow strawberries? How about which babies to use for the next generation and all that.
This may be a good eBook, I am looking for a subject to write about.
alpinefrost, did you see this post I am replying to???
It was ap that was looking for the nozzels. Thanks for the link though, I am off to check it out.
I was just on eBay...checking out golf nets lol. You are right, you can find anything on eBay.
I may do Buckwheat,I'm still not sure. Right now I have Fall Rye, that was sown last Fall in one half. I am going to let it ripen and let the seed fall. It will just start growing again.
That will improve the soil - also it will help choke out weeds as I sow it very thickly.
The other half, has a new cover of well composted manure all over it. Today, in the pouring rain, I stood out there and sowed Fall Rye. I raked it in roughly when I was finished.
It has been so cool here, I am not convinced the Buckwheat would get a good start. Maybe later, when some heat comes. Either way, by next Spring, both these lower gardens should have awesome soil.
It looks so good and remember too that you have influenced your neighbours and are now sharing and bartering your garden goods.
When I look at your pictures I am always so impressed with how much you have got done over the last few years!
