This news brings AKPO a little closer. Also forgot to mention the 45 yr mistake in the DJ article
PARIS (Dow Jones)--French oil and gas major Total SA (FP.FR) said Thursday it has acquired Chevron Corp's (CVX) 45.9% stake to explore for hydrocarbons in Block 1 in the Joint Development Zone governed by Nigeria and Sao Tome and Principe.
MAIN FACTS: Total will operate the block in partnership with Addax Petroleum JDZ 1 Ltd, Dangote Energy Equity Resources and Sasol Exploration and Production Nigeria Ltd.
- The LDZ is governed by a treaty between Nigeria and Sao Tome and Principe for a period of 45 year.
- The transaction is subject to the approval of the authorities.
- The license covers an area of close to 700 square kilometers in water depths of between 1,600 to 1,800 meters.
- The acquisition fits with Total's strategy of expanding its exploration and production operations in the Gulf of Guinea.

impatience rules the day here.look at Akpo...it is a realistic comparison in many ways.initial reports were revised as they realized the extent and possibilities of this development.the cost is projected at 5+billion for full development.they are half way there in well count.it is an engineering work of art that continues to evolve.many here are scarred with what it took to get us on the sea floor in exploration and development.we have had a long journey.this story is epic and believe it or not, still in it's infancy.last dec/jan SP was an opportunity.look at all the positive and tangible developments which have occured since that time.Stay Tuned and Good Prospecting to the good people of this board!IMHO
Michigan you were here last Dec/Jan look how improved the SP is with material events unfolding before us . Do not be distracted by all the noise . Good Prospecting to the good people of this board ! "Champagne to our real friends and real pain to our sham friends !!"
Thank you Homeport for your continued contribution.

repost from 8-18-09 #174845: What other invitations besides Starcrest will the proposed redistribution laws now being considered in Nigeria favoring indigineous firms and people ?
TO ALL ON THIS BOARD
Do not count on suprise Thanksgiving fare or Christmas gifts. The $$$ and the influence will balance info distribution with their future business aspirations in the region. My response this AM was immediate I generally lurk here and am aware of many who contribute. Share volume remains weak, shareholder's resolve remains strong. Games and noise will persist to separate you from your holdings. DO NOT BE DUPED. I'm late for lunch.Good Prospecting !!
it's not news , don't forget EEZ , my advice would be for the company to start releasing more substantive reports regarding the progress of JDZ endeavors before this rumor goes viral .
just lost a friend and business associate of 25+ yrs . he was 61yrs of age ...checked in for a heart murmur . taught me many things over the course of our association . the need for humility as i read some of the posts here comes to mind . there is always something to learn from someone else if you have an open mind and you are willing to always move forward . thanks to all here who make this board an interesting read ...keep up the good work ! "Good Prospecting"
CVX spent 60+ days on delineation well diagnostics . The EEZ auctions will be affected by JDZ assesments . Patience and "Good Prospecting"
OT (ie.CNOOC's interest in W.Africa) look for play in APC(NYSE) TLW(LSE) hope for spill over support !
could be mngt's advice to think of this as the development of a field and not just individual wells .
If Kina's stats are published the tide will recede exposing all those who are swimming naked . That should make things interesting as they bid to cover ! Good Prospecting !!
SEO is in front . Who is behind ? Not worth the risk IMO .
Bonga(RDSA)Abgami(CVX)Erha(XOM)are among the 23 OML's CNOOC has delineated . Some of these leases have been in existance for 40 years and are currently under an extension while negotiations are ongoing . Nigeria's negociating position is strengthened by the revelation of CNOOC''s gambit .
CNOOC's proposal does not encompass our blocks . We've known that this would be the most volatile chapter in our story . It is an exhilarating experience to be at the table in these times . I for one am glad for the weekend . SNP has not invested billions to fold their tent now and go home . Patience and perseverance will prevail . SNP(AXC),SEO know this....we should as well . Good Prospecting !!
They want your shares . Things are never as they appear .
