All of the talk about the potential merging company is speculation at this point, yes. But, people on the board are trying to figure out what the merging company is because Locan is no longer a shell as per the 2 most recent 10Q's, whereas it was a shell at the end of March.

It's safe to say large beverage conglomerates have little competitive edge over AriZona Beverage Co. The Lake Success, N.Y.-based company has managed to grasp a significant share of the flavored water, tea and juice segment of the marketplace by letting its product speak for itself.
"I think it's a pretty unique brand that we have here, and our strategy from the beginning has been to grow organically, to never create this mainstream identity," Creative Director Wesley Vultaggio says."We are seen as an entrepreneurial, grassroots company and the consumers know and love our brand, but we are not the big conglomerates that we compete against. We don't have to shove our brand down people'sthroats."
And it all started when founders Don Vultaggio and John Ferolito started Ferolito, Vultaggio, & Sons - also known as AriZona Beverage Co. - in 1971 by selling beer out of the back of a truck in Brooklyn, N.Y. But by the 1990s, the two realized there was opportunity to be had in the tea business and by 1992, the firm had launched its first cans of ready-to-drink iced tea. Today, Ferolito, Vultaggio & Sons sells more AriZona beverages in cans and bottles than any other premium ready-to-drink iced tea company in the United States.
Today, AriZona Beverage Co. remains a privately held and family run business. "We are very proud to be an American company," Vultaggio notes. "We still have lots of room to grow and it's going to be exciting to see where that growth takes us."
AriZona Beverage Co. manufactures its proprietary line of iced tea, flavored waters, juices, coffees, energy drinks and powdered tea mixes, and remains the leader in hot-filled beverages in the United States. Despite major growth in recent years, the company is adhering toits mission to create great-looking products of the highest quality that people will like and can afford to buy.
"Our marketshare in June was 26.4 percent; that's a pretty big feat to have beaten all of the major conglomerates like the Liptons and the Nestles and the Snapples," Vultaggio explains. "We have gone quietly under the radar of these companies and have unmasked the market share of the category. Our growth has been between 20 to 40 percent annually over the past seven years."
Exactly how AriZona has captured this success is no real secret: create a quality product, price it fairly and continue to evolve through grassroots initiatives. "We have had this business model since dayone and we are trying to offer the best proposition that we can to the consumer," Vultaggio says.
AriZona makes it a point to never advertise on television or take other mainstream promotional routes to reach the consumer. Instead, Vultaggio says, all of the money that would have been placed into an advertising budget instead goes straight into the packaging. "It is a nonconventional approach to advertising, but that's one way we have reached the consumer," he adds.
'GARBAGE PAIL' APPROACH
AriZona has developed new products by keeping a watchful eye on the marketplace - not through a formal research and development lab. "It's really my dad and brother and I talking about things that are going on in the industry," Vultaggio says. "My dad's biggest philosophy has always been to go with the gut feeling on something, and he has not changed. He does not believe in market research, and he does not use test groups. Sure, we have tried some things and failed, but our philosophy is to throw things at the wall and see if they stick. We see what's going on in the marketplace and we try to think outside of the box."
Vultaggio explains that his father's approach to research "is a garbage pail tactic. Whenever he is walking around the street, he pays attention to what people are drinking and what is being thrown out. He saw bottles in trash cans with the lids on, and so he decided to come out with a resealable bottle. He was also the first person to comeup with ready-to-drink green tea. Once we come up with a plan, I tryto put it in motion."
AriZona works with flavor houses to develop new product, and utilizes its own internal creative team to design the whimsical packaging it is known for. The original AriZona packaging was inspired by the desert in Arizona and the iconic southwestern theme in the Queens, N.Y., home of the company's chairman. "We work with many co-packers around the country, and we have our own facility in Maplewood, N.J., and partial ownership in a facility in Wisconsin," Vultaggio says. All AriZona beverages go through a hot-filled process in order to keep themchemical-free and 100 percent natural.
CONSTANTLY EVOLVING
New product development is an important part of Arizona's growth strategy. Recently, it launched a new line of USDA certified organic iced teas. Each ingredient is sourced organically, from the honey and cane juice that sweetens the beverages, to the fruit juices and antioxidant packed teas.
Like all of the AriZona brand beverages, the organic teas contain no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. The AriZona Organic Iced Tea line includes the Arizona cornerstone, Green Tea, as well as Yumberry Green Tea and Pomegranate Green tea. The organic teas are available in 20-ounce glass bottles.
In early 2009, AriZona also created a vapor-distilled water that is further improved upon by infusing a blend of electrolytes. During the distillation process, impurities and environmental pollutants are removed from the vapors. The purified liquid is then combined with a balance of calcium, magnesium and potassium. This proprietary formulais designed to help increase a person's rate of hydration and enhance performance during physical activity, without adding calories and sodium. The vapor water will begin distribution nationally this winter.

His 'mega' play, which was supposed to be held tight to the chest before release, was heavily front loaded and dumped upon release by a few in the know. He told everyone he was the only one who knew about the play, and was also compensated 500,000 shares by the company or 3rd party of which he did not disclose. Me thinks the SEC will be taking a look at this...
Anyway, that's what happened as far as I know...

So today we had someone who didn't play by the rules. There's proof via twitter. No other way about it. The situation was either caused by mis-communication or greed. We'll probably never know. Now, the problem with giving the 'Q' play the day before is that traders will just call in their pre-market orders and we'll have the same problem all over again - the opening gap up.
--- Side note: if a stock gaps at the open, you don't jump in and chase. Wait for the retrace. With 'Q' stocks, though, if it gaps at the open, stay away. A retrace in a 'Q' play will probably not go back up, at least for some time. ---
Now, unless it's a special play like QSGIQ or VSTNQ, most 'Q' plays are just one day runs, or, half-hour runs. You get the point. Not much DD to do on these. Getting the pick the day or night before defeats the purpose of everyone having an equal chance of making some easy money.
My opinion is to deliver the pick :30 minutes after market open. Obviously, no front loading allowed. And to take it a step further, perhaps each MOD takes a turn from week-to-week or month-to-month by giving the pick, but not sharing it with ANYONE else, including any other MOD. Another reason for waiting :30 minutes is that the opening craziness of the trading day has calmed down a bit, and people will be more apt to see a 'Q' play running. Also, the chart/L2's come into play for the early trading day. Much easier to discern legitimacy on the called 'Q' play.
So for my funny trading morning regarding CIGIQ:
- I bought in as I was looking forward to this pick. Chased it a bit due to the opening gap, but it was within reason for me. The problem I encountered was when I set a sell order through my trading platform, and somehow the trade was routed through the wrong exchange (found out by calling my broker). This incorrect 'routing' froze any and all transactions I could perform with CIGIQ until the system could resolve the problem (approximately 45 minutes of not being able to do anything while the PPS dropped). So, I got screwed, but in a totally different way. I couldn't sell or set a sell order as it was dropping. Luckily, I got out even. And my coffee mug survived the morning.
Every trade you make is entirely on you; and every trade you make is a learning experience. Don't trust a soul on these boards. Just gotta learn how the game is played down here, or, how certain people play the game...
