juice it and icky poo!
You're up early, too. We're in the same time zone.
Even if I wanted to sleep in, my cat wouldn't allow it. She's a princess and wants her breakfast.
Added the juicing board to my list of favorites. Thx, again.
Thanks sumisu.
(sumisu: Is that the Japanese version of "Smith"?)
Another interesting article. Saved it, with many of your other postings.
What a coincidence. I am sitting at my 'puter reading you guys at 7:30am on a Sunday morning and drinking V-8 juice.
I usually add hot sauce, turmeric, pepper and sometimes cumin to the V-8. Yummy! Wakes up the taste buds.
I haven't yet gone to juicing.
Mary's Mosaic: The CIA Conspiracy to Murder John F. Kennedy, Mary Pinchot Meyer, and Their Vision of World Peace
Peter Janney published 4/02/12
article about the newly published book
http://lewrockwell.com/hornberger/hornberger189.html
In his introduction to Maryβs Mosaic, Janney places the murders of John Kennedy and Mary Pinchot Meyer in a larger context:
The tapestry of President Kennedyβs killing is enormous; the tapestry of Mary Meyerβs, much smaller. And yet they are connected, one to another, in ways that became increasingly apparent to me as I dug ever more deeply into her relationship with Jack Kennedy and the circumstances surrounding her demise. To understand the complex weave of elements that led to her death is to understand, in a deeper way, one of the most abominable, despicable events of our countryβs history.
Therein lies the cancerous tumor upon the soul of America. The CIAβs inception and entrance into the American landscape fundamentally altered not only the functioning of our government, but the entire character of American life. The CIAβs reign during the Cold War era has contaminated the pursuit of historical truth. While the dismantling of Americaβs republic didnβt begin in Dallas in 1963, that day surely marked an unprecedented acceleration of the erosion of constitutional democracy. America has never recovered. Today in 2012, the ongoing disintegration of our country is ultimately about the corruption of our government, a government that has consistently and intentionally misrepresented and lied about what really took place in Dallas in 1963, as it did about the escalation of the Vietnam War that followed, and which it presently continues to do about so many things.
Once revered as a refuge from tyranny, America has become a sponsor and patron of tyrants. Like Rome before it, America is β in its own way β burning. Indeed, the Roman goddess Libertas, her embodiment the Statue of Liberty, still stands at the entrance of New York harbor to welcome all newcomers. Her iconic torch of freedom ablaze, her tabula ansata specifically memorializing the rule of law and the American Declaration of Independence, the chains of tyranny are broken at her feet. She wears βpeaceβ sandals β not war boots. While her presence should be an inescapable reminder that we are all βimmigrants,β her torch reminds us that the core principles for which she stands require truth telling by each and every one of us. As long as any vestige of our democracy remains, each of us has a solemn duty to defend it, putting our personal and family loyalties aside. βPatriotismβ β real patriotism β has a most important venue, and itβs not always about putting on a uniform to fight some senseless, insane war in order to sustain the meaningless myths about βfreedomβ or βAmericaβs greatness.β There is a higher loyalty that real patriotism demands and encompasses, and that loyalty is to the pursuit of truth, no matter how painful or uncomfortable the journey.
Another interesting article.
Many years ago, I once rescued a potted Ficus tree from the office where I worked.
The tree had been given up for dead and they were tossing it. It had lost nearly all of its leaves. The few remaining leaves were yellow and brittle.
I took it home. Started fertilizing it and watering it. It showed signs of life.
But the most dramatic changes, and growth, began when I started watering it with leaf compost tea. Leaves that had fallen from the trees in the yard, I put in buckets/barrels of water and let them steep. When the water was dark/black, I used it to water the indoor Ficus tree. Since the Ficus is a shade-loving tree, it probably grows in acidic soil. The compost tea provided nutrients and correct pH for the Ficus.
It eventually outgrew its pot & the sunny corner in the front room, AND I was selling the house.
Autism & The New MMS Seminar
(in English)
in Puerto Vallarta,Mexico
This is another very important development of the Seminar in Puerto Vallarta, probably our most important development at this time. Kerri Rivera will be teaching the MMS protocols for healing autism. Her efforts and protocols have resulted in 38 children becoming fully recovered from autism in the past 20 months.
As more and more children participate in Kerri's protocols for longer and longer periods of time they are beginning to come through as fully recovered at a faster rate. No one else in the world has brought about as many fully recovered Autistic children during that time. Kerri developed the protocols for healing autism over the past 20 months as she responded to more than 2000 different cases of autism.
NOW COME TO OUR SEMINAR AND IN ADDITON TO LEARNING ALL OF OUR PROTOCOLS FOR HEALING MANKINDS DISEASES, LEARN KERRI'S IMPORTANT PROTOCOLS FOR HEALING AUTISM. She will be here to teach you and guide you as you do all of the protocols. She will not only show you how to prepare the MMS for each protocol, but she will also have you do it right there in class.
In addition to learning the successful protocols for autism you will also be learning those for cancer, hepatitis A, B, and C, malaria, skin diseases and essentially all the diseases of mankind. This information is available in my books and videos but learning here is experiential and far beyond just reading a book. Unfortunately, Kerri's book is not available yet, so this is the only place you can get the data at this time. The book will be available in several months.
Kerri just returned this month from Puerto Rico, where she spoke at the largest conference in Latin America. The only and largest all Spanish autism conference in the world, CURANDO EL AUTISMO. She gave more than 70 individual consults to families for specific protocols for each child while there and did a one hour presentation to an audience of over 3000. More than 2000 families are doing her protocols and she continues to do various seminars concerning autism at the rate of about 1 seminar per
month in Latin America. She has been invited to speak at the largest English speaking seminar in the world concerning autism, AutismOne in Chicago next month.
This seminar will be held starting Monday morning May 7 until Friday evening May 11. Those of you who understand sickness and healing will understand that this is the greatest seminar to ever be given anywhere in the world. People Helping People, is
changing the world. Our Church is at the forefront of this movement. We need your help. Earth needs your help. What better game to play than to be a part of changing earth forever. We β will β do β it. But even if we didn't, what better game to play than this game. Get in at the start of the greatest earth game of all time.
The Details: Come Sunday May 6, leave Saturday may 12. This allows you to be on time for Class Monday morning, and time after class Friday evening to see the beach and shops. You can have a meal on us Saturday morning before getting on your plane or you could vacation for a few days if you so desire.
Basically Archbishop Jim Humble will be here, Bishop Kerri Rivera will be here, and Rev Dr Janet Hedlund will be here plus students from around the world. Rev Dr Janet is listed last but is far from least. She has cured hundreds of many different diseases having been using MMS for more than 2 years. She has cured cancer patients that had been given only days to live and has handled many other diseases. She will be part of our staff and will be doing most everything including lectures concerning things she has done.
The cost is $1500 (two people to a room) at the local hotel which is in walking distance of our seminar class rooms. Private rooms are $250 extra. Our seminar class building and land covers 5 acres and is less than 5 minutes from the airport here in Puerto Vallarta. Husband and wife get a $300 discount.
The classes include workshops for every Sacrament of the Church. This includes a day of protocol 1000, 2000, 3000 and also 4000. You will learn to use DMSO along with MMS, CDS, and MMS2. You will do 25 short protocols that bring health to various parts of the body. For example each student learns to put it in his or someone else's eyes, ears, and nose. You learn to spray your body, hair and head by actually doing it. You will learn to take care of all the diseases that are present on the skin of the body. You learn what to do in the case of a heart attack, or a stroke, or high blood pressure, and all the other various diseases. You learn the basics of treating animals, of treating children, and old people. Please think a minute about what I have just said. This is the most fantastic course anyone could take so far in the world. This course, I guarantee will save your life sometime between now and the time that you would otherwise die. No one has ever been sorry they have taken the course, so far as I know.
Please come. I want to meet you all. All who come are totally free to ask Jim, Kerri, or Janet all the questions they wish. Jim stays up until 2 AM nightly and will answer questions until then. Kerri and Janet go to bed a little earlier. I am looking to see you sometime Sunday the 6th and get you settled in.
With love,
Archbishop Jim Humble

Secretariatβs Brother
http://www.secretariat.com/spotlight/secretariats-brother/
We are sad to announce that Straight Flush passed away on September 3rd, 2007. βDaddyβ, as he was affectionately called by those around him, died peacefully in his sleep in his favorite spot beneath the canopy of a large eucalyptus tree. Straight Flushβs rescue will forever warm our hearts and remind us of all the efforts of those who not only care, but also act, to make a difference in the welfare of these beautiful animals. We will miss the old guy but can find solace in the fact that he lived a full life and was happy right to the very end. Our thanks to Stephanie Diaz, April Ward, Neal Arave, Bill Doolittle, and equineline.com for their help in sharing his amazing story as shown in its original form from February of 2007 below.
Counting His Carrot Cakes
Rescued brother of Secretariat is alive and well at age 32
by Bill Doolittle Feb 2007
A few years ago an old horse, down on his luck and likely down to his last days, got the proverbial βphone call from the governor.β
Horse enthusiast and racing writer Stephanie Diaz ponied up $200 to save the life of Straight Flush, a former racehorse and stallion who was long past any utilitarian horse-use. Down almost to hide and bones, Straight Flush stood stoically in a muddy Texas cattle feed lot, awaiting a final ride to a horsemeat slaughterhouse.
Instead, Diaz saw to it that the old horse was saved β retired to a California ranch where he could canter along his paddock fence, keep an eye out for the occasional carrot from a friend, and live out his days in sunshine.
That was in 1999, when Straight Flush was merely 24 years old. On Jan. 1 β the universal birthday for all thoroughbreds registered in North America β Straight Flush turned 32, making him one of the oldest horses you will ever meet. Alive and well, and just doing great.
Best of all: heβs Secretariatβs brother. Well, technically he is a half-brother, but more on that later.
Thatβs right. Straight Flush, the 32-year-old, is a brother of the most famous racehorse in the world and a living reminder, for some, of the Camelot days of Penny Cheneryβs Meadow Stable of three decades ago. Back when the 1973 Triple Crown champion Secretariat and company ruled the racing world.
Straight Flush, himself, didnβt do much ruling. Despite his regal pedigree and top-of-the game connections, the brother of Secretariat proved not to be a classic-winning racehorse. Nor was he prepotent stallion when retired to stud. And over the years his worth gradually diminished until he had no worth at all. From highest hopes, Straight Flush slowly drifted into oblivion. Lost, and almost forgotten.
The story begins with an urgent e-mail message β¦
βSomeone sent me an e-mail saying there was a brother of Secretariat who was in trouble,β recalled Diaz. βTheyβd seen a note on clipclop.com that he was for sale. He was on a feed lot in Texas and surely at the end of the line. His owner didnβt have any potential buyers nearby and just thought that as a brother of Secretariat, he should see if someone wanted him.β
The softhearted Texas feed lot owner was right. Someone did want a brother of Secretariat β even if he was 24-years old at the time. Diaz registered a bid of $200 and pretty much forgot about it, thinking sheβd gotten the bidding going and someone would end up with the horse. A few days later a message arrived saying βCongratulations, you won the auction.β
βI contacted the owner and he told me that watching him, knowing where he was headed, he just felt terrible, but he wasnβt able to afford to keep him,β said Diaz. Diaz found that Straight Flush had been a stallion for a number of years in the Southwest, bopping around from one farm to another. Despite limited success, there was always somebody new willing to take a chance on a stallion with his pedigree, a brother of Secretariat. He was bred to both thoroughbred and quarter horse mares. But he never got lucky with a real runner.
This time, however, Straight Flush had been dealt a winning hand.
Over the years, Diaz has cooridinated for the rescue and retirement of scores of racehorses, including the top stakes gelding Letthebighossroll. By phone, Diaz arranged for a special box to be constructed to help stabilize Straight Flush for a long van trip to a new home in California.
When Diaz finally laid eyes on her purchase, she wasnβt dismayed that the old guy was skinny and a little down in health. With proper feeding and care, horses can often rally to good health. What surprised her was the horse was such a looker.
βJust the longest legs youβve ever seen,β Diaz marveled. βAnd that big, beautiful, massive neck. He must have gotten that from his sire, Riva Ridge. And heβs a sweet horse, too, with a big, soft eye. Plain bay, wide face, with a kind expression.β
For original owner Penny Chenery, the description was almost as certain as his lip tattoo. Diazβs observations matched Cheneryβs memories of long ago days when Straight Flush was born into her barn β the son of Secretariatβs stablemate Riva Ridge, who had won the 1972 Derby.
βHe certainly did resemble Riva Ridge,β said Chenery, remembering the stablemate of Secretariat who won the 1972 Kentucky Derby. βHe had that head and neck like Riva. And he was always a nice, quiet, serene horse.β
Diaz arranged for Straight Flush to make his new home at a training ranch in Hemet, Calif., near Riverside, owned by veteran horseman Neal Arave.
Where Straight Flush has blossomed.
βHeβs got the prettiest coat youβve ever seen on a horse,β said Arave, who started with horses as a boy in Idaho. βHe looks like about 14 years-old. Oh, heβs a little down in the back, but he runs and plays and has a good, old time.β
Hemet seems to be a haven for famous old trainers and famous old horses. Quarter horse Hall-of-Famer Blane Schvaneveldt and California thoroughbred training legend Farrell Jones have ranches nearby, and the neighborhood includes the retirement homes of such racing luminaries as Music Merci, Fortyninerdays, Cardmania and the aforementioned Letthebighossroll. βA bunch of retired millionaire horses, is what it is,β quipped Diaz. βYou figure they stand around all day and talk about their investments.β
A nice life for a horse, agreed Arave.
βI have seven or eight of them old horses, and they all have nice pastures where they can be turned out,β he said. βI like horses, but you like the good ones a little better than the ones that have never done nothing. Theyβve kind of earned the right to retire.β
Photographer April Ward recently visited Straight Flush and found the horse happily enjoying his days in the desert sunshine.
βThereβs a little water course that runs through his corral, and he was dancing around in it, tapping his toes and splashing the water with his hooves,β said Ward. βHeβs an awesome horse for his age. I was following him around for photos and he was loving the attention β just playing it up for all it was worth.β
And the old stallion hasnβt forgotten his working days.
βHe started strutting down the fence line, showing his stuff for the mares in the next pen,β Ward said. βThen heβd stop and stick his nose over the fence, like he was saying to them: βYeah, Iβve still got it.β β
Probably does, too.
Of course, at 32, Straight Flush has a few worn out parts. He might be βlong in the tooth,β but heβs not long on teeth.
βBut we just had the horse dentist out to look at him again, and heβs doing fine with no teeth,β said Arave. βWell, heβs got a couple teeth on the bottom of his mouth, but none on the top.β
Nutrition, of course, is a paramount consideration in the care of retired horses β especially racehorses who have always been fed by caretakers, rather than making do for themselves by foraging in a field. The loss of teeth is an additional concern. But Arave has developed a special soft diet for older horses that he feeds Straight Flush. βAnd he can munch on hay,β added the trainer. βThat gives him something to do.β
Chenery is thrilled with Straight Flushβs rescue.
βYouβre always delighted when they have a happy ending,β said Chenery, who has long been a leading force in horse retirement.
Through her official website Secretariat.com, Chenery supports the efforts of the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation and its Secretariat Center in Lexington, Kentucky, which is instrumental in finding new homes for former racehorses.
βIβm not so naive as to think we can rescue every horse,β said Chenery. βBut we can rescue the ones who are in danger β like on their way to that β¦ place, New Holland.β
That βplaceβ would be a slaughterhouse in New Holland, Pennsylvania, one of four sites in the United States where horses of all breeds are slaughtered for meat. The doomed horses bring about 50 cents a pound.
Many sports fans were shocked when 1986 Kentucky Derby winner Ferdinand was slaughtered for meat in Japan in 2002. A stud career there proved unsuccessful, and he was simply slaughtered.
Activists are especially appalled by the conditions leading to the slaughterhouse.
βJust think of hauling forty horses in a trailer β double-decked, packed in there,β lamented Chenery. βThey canβt even raise their heads.β
Chenery notes that retirement isnβt the only option for avoiding the slaughterhouse. Sound thoroughbred racehorses make excellent βhunter-jumpersβ for amateur equine competition, or just plain riding horses. βIdeally,β she said, βwhen they are done racing, they can be trained for another career.β
What makes Straight Flushβs rescue particularly remarkable is that he was still around to be rescued.
Thirty-two is a Methuselah-like age for a horse. Many horses live to be 20, some even 25. But thatβs about it. Count Fleet, the Triple Crown champion of 1943, lived to be 33. Secretariat died at age 19. Seattle Slew made it to 28. The oldest living Kentucky Derby winner is the filly Genuine Risk, now 30, and turned out in Virginia.
No one knows exactly who is the oldest living horse, but Straight Flush is one of them. A mixed Morgan breed horse named Copper, living in Missouri, is said be 51.
Among thoroughbreds, whose births are carefully registered and who carry lip tattoos that certify their identity, Straight Flush is the same age as fellow geriatric turf titan John Henry, who raced until he was nine and retired as the worldβs leading money winner. The old guys actually met once in a stakes race in Atlantic City in 1979 with John Henry finishing second and Straight Flush fifth.
There are no βofficialβ records of the oldest thoroughbred who ever lived. It is generally acknowledged that the longest-lived thoroughbred was Merrick, who died in 1941 at the age of 38.
So at 32, Straight Flush is way out ahead of the age curve β and hasnβt been nearly as pampered as some of those Derby winners.
Which is exactly what Straight Flush was bred to be.
Kinship is different in horses than humans.
The great thoroughbred stallion sires (the fathers of horses) are an elite few. A top stallion may be bred to as many as 100 mares (mothers) each year, producing, ideally, 100 foals. In other words, very few fathers spread around lots of mothers. And the matings change. Many mares are sent to a new stallion each season as breeders search for that miracle mating that will produce a champion racehorse.
With all that βsleeping around,β the kinship of horses is logically based on female families. Straight Flush and Secretariat are both sons of the famous broodmare Somethingroyal, and thus brothers in her female family line. Technically, they are half-brothers since their fathers were different. Bold Ruler sired Secretariat, while Straight Flush was sired by Riva Ridge. Somethingroyal produced 18 offspring by 12 different stallions, so Straight Flush had 17 brothers and sisters.
The important thing about all this is Somethingroyal the mom was a key part of the famous Meadow Stable family. The horses she foaled at Meadow Stud, in Virginia, all started out in Cheneryβs familyβs Meadow Stable. That included, besides Secretariat, such famous runners as Syrian Sea, First Family and Sir Gaylord. The latter had been the favorite for the 1962 Kentucky Derby, but was injured the day before the Derby and did not get to βRun for the Roses.β Sir Gaylord was sent to stud, where he became one of the sportβs top stallions. It was just that kind of family β all coming from the wonder mom Somethingroyal.
So when Straight Flush came along β taking his name from mom Somethingroyal β and being a brother to one Derby winner, and sired by another, the colt naturally carried the highest hopes.
βOh, I remember him well,β said Chenery. β He was right in there in the mix. He was a strong, pretty horse. But unfortunately he wasnβt as precocious as Secretariat. That shouldnβt damn him, he just didnβt have Secretariatβs high speed. He could run with better horses, but didnβt have that blaze to beat them.β
Straight Flush was foaled in 1975 and came to the races in 1977. Winless that fall of his two-year-old year, he was sent to California for the winter meet at Santa Anita.
βWe were riding high in those days,β Chenery recalled. βI had a string on the East Coast and the West Coast, and I actually spent much of my time in California then. Steve DiMauro trained the California group.β
Straight Flush notched his first victory Feb. 12 at Santa Anita, with jockey Bill Shoemaker aboard. Chenery ran him back in the Santa Catalina Stakes, a prep race for the Santa Anita Derby. But the best he could do was sixth. To set that in context, a week later at the same track a 3-year-old named Affirmed won another prep for the Santa Anita Derby on his way to the 1978 Triple Crown.
With hopes for the biggest of racing dreams dashed, Straight Flush was sold to another barn. He ran through 1978 and β79, winning twice. Probably the most interesting fact of his racing career was that he was ridden by a veritable whoβs who of jockeys, including Ron Turcotte, Jean Cruguet, Sandy Hawley, Cash Asmussen, Laffit Pincay, Eddie Maple, Angel Cordero, Steve Cauthen and Bill Shoemaker. But he just never broke out of the βallowanceβ level ranks.
In the fall of 1979 Straight Flush was retired from racing to become a stallion. Records show that he stood at a farm in Vivian, Louisiana, and then later at Paradise Farms in Longview, Texas. It is believed Straight Flush may have served as a stallion as far west as Colorado, siring 176 foals. The best of his sons and daughters was probably Texas Echo, who won 18 races in a long career. But there were no real stars. Winding down in value over the years, he probably came back to Texas as part of a stock dispersal, an old throw-in horse arriving finally on that feed lot where his only future was no future at all.
Until, that is, he got a little help from his friends β the compassionate feed lot owner, the horse lover who noticed an Internet posting about a horse in trouble, and then Diaz and Arave.
And of course, the friends of Straight Flush knew how to celebrate his Jan. 1 birthday:
βWe had carrot cake for him!β said Diaz. βAnd he ate it, too. He loves carrots any way he can get them.β
Arave chuckled.
βIs it just a bunch of soft-hearted women?β he asked. βWell, youβve got to give them more credit than that.β
Straight Flush, too. Youβve got to give Secretariatβs brother credit for hanging in there all these years- 32 and still prancing!
And maybe thinking about breaking Merrickβs old-age record of 38. Just seven more carrot cakes to go!
Derby Dreams Ride In on a White Horse
Tapit, for instance, now stands for $125,000, a tenfold increase from 2009, and was recently chosen as the retired champion Zenyattaβs next mate
How much control do you really have over your own life in general, and your health in particular?
http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2012/04/11/epigenetic-vs-determinism.aspx?e_cid=20120411_DNL_art_1
Epigenetics Shatters "The Central Dogma"
Eriksen goes on to discuss something called "The Central Dogma" of molecular biology, which states that biological information is transferred sequentially and only in one direction (from DNA to RNA to proteins).
The ramification of buying into the central dogma is that it leads to belief in absolute determinism, which leaves you utterly powerless to do anything about the health of your body; it's all driven by your genetic code, which you were born with.
However, scientists have completely shattered this dogma and proven it false. You actually have a tremendous amount of control over how your genetic traits are expressedβfrom how you think to what you eat and the environment you live in.
You may recall the Human Genome Projectii , which was launched in 1990 and completed in 2003. The mission was to map out all human genes and their interactions, which would than serve as the basis for curing virtually any disease. Alas, not only did they realize the human body consists of far fewer genes than previously believed, they also discovered that these genes do not operate as previously predicted.
In the featured article, Eriksen describes the experiments of John Cairns, a British molecular biologist who in 1988 produced compelling evidence that our responses to our environment determine the expression of our genes. A radical thought, for sure, but one that has been proven correct on multiple occasions since then.
Your Emotions Regulate Your Genetic Expression
As if genes changing expression in response to environmental factors such as nutrients wasn't enough, other researchers have demonstrated that this "environment" that your genes respond to also includes your conscious thoughts, emotions, and unconscious beliefs. Cellular biologist Bruce Lipton, PhD., is one of the leading authorities on how emotions can regulate genetic expression, which are explained in-depth in his excellent books The Biology of Belief, and Spontaneous Evolution.
Science has indeed taken us far beyond Newtonian physics, which says you live in a mechanical universe. According to this belief, your body is just a biological machine, so by modifying the parts of the machine, you can modify your health. Also, as a biological machine, your body is thought to respond to physical "things" like the active chemicals in drugs, and by adjusting the drugs that modify your machinery, doctors can modify and control health. However, with the advent of quantum physics, scientists have realized the flaws in Newtonian physics, as quantum physics shows us that the invisible, immaterial realm is actually far more important than the material realm. In fact, your thoughts may shape your environment far more than physical matter!
According to Dr. Lipton, the true secret to life does not lie within your DNA, but rather within the mechanisms of your cell membrane.
Each cell membrane has receptors that pick up various environmental signals, and this mechanism controls the "reading" of the genes inside your cells. Your cells can choose to read or not read the genetic blueprint depending on the signals being received from the environment. So having a "cancer program" in your DNA does not automatically mean you're destined to get cancer. Far from it. This genetic information does not ever have to be expressed...
What this all means is that you are not controlled by your genetic makeup. Instead, your genetic readout (which genes are turned "on" and which are turned "off") is primarily determined by your thoughts, attitudes, and perceptions!
The major problem with believing the myth that your genes control your life is that you become a victim of your heredity. Since you can't change your genes, it essentially means that your life is predetermined, and therefore you have very little control over your health. With any luck, modern medicine will find the gene responsible and be able to alter it, or devise some other form of drug to modify your body's chemistry, but aside from that, you're out of luck⦠The new science, however, reveals that your perceptions control your biology, and this places you in the driver's seat, because if you can change your perceptions, you can shape and direct your own genetic readout.
This new science also reveals that you are in fact an extension of your environment, which includes everything from your thoughts and belief systems, to toxic exposures and exposure to sunlight, exercise, and, of course, everything you choose to put onto and into your body. As Dr. Lipton is fond of saying, the new biology moves you out of victimhood and into Masteryβmastery over your own health.
It is a supreme confirmation of my favorite saying, "You Can Take Control of Your Health."
How Nutrition Alters Genetic Expression
Two years ago, a study performed by the Linus Pauling Institute at Oregon State University was showcased at the annual Experimental Biology convention. The study demonstrated how "histone modifications" can impact the expression of many degenerative diseases, ranging from cancer and heart disease to biopolar disorder and even aging itself. According to Rod Dashwood, a professor of environmental and molecular toxicology and head of LPI's Cancer Chemoprotection Program, as quoted in a press releaseiv:
"We believe that many diseases that have aberrant gene expression at their root can be linked to how DNA is packaged, and the actions of enzymes such as histone deacetylases, or HDACs. As recently as 10 years ago we knew almost nothing about HDAC dysregulation in cancer or other diseases, but it's now one of the most promising areas of health-related research."
In a nutshell, we all have tumor suppressor genes, and these genes are capable of stopping cancer cells in their tracks. These genes are present in every cell in your body, but so are proteins called "histones." As Dr. Jean-Pierre Issa at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center explainsv , histones can "hug" DNA so tightly that it becomes "hidden from view for the cell." If a tumor suppressor gene is hidden, it cannot be utilized, and in this way too much histone will "turn off" these cancer suppressors, and allow cancer cells to proliferate.
Now here's where epigenetics comes in β¦ certain foods, such as broccoli and other cruciferous vegetables, garlic, and onions contain substances that act as histone inhibitors, which essentially block the histone, allowing your tumor suppressor genes to activate and fight cancer. By regularly consuming these foods, you are naturally supporting your body's ability to fight tumors.
Certain alternative oncologists also tap directly into the epigenetic mechanism, such as Dr. Nicholas Gonzalez, who uses a three-pronged approach to cancer based primarily on nutrition and detoxification, and Dr. Stanislaw Burzynski, who treats cancer with a gene-targeted approach. His treatment uses non-toxic peptides and amino acids, known as antineoplastons, which act as genetic switches that turn your tumor suppressor genes "on."
A Healthy Lifestyle Supports Healthy Genetic Expression
So the good news is that you are in control of your genes β¦ You can alter them on a regular basis, depending on the foods you eat, the air you breathe, and the thoughts you think. It's your environment and lifestyle that dictates your tendency to express disease, and this new realization is set to make major waves in the future of disease prevention -- including one day educating people on how to fight disease at the epigenetic level. When a disease occurs, the solution, according to epigenetic therapy, is simply to "remind" your affected cells (change its environmental instructions) of its healthy function, so they can go back to being normal cells instead of diseased cells.
You can begin to do this on your own, long before you manifest a disease. By leading a healthy lifestyle, with high quality nutrition, exercise, limited exposure to toxins, and a positive mental attitude, you encourage your genes to express positive, disease-fighting behaviors.
This is what preventive medicine is all about. It's not about taking any one particular nutrient as a supplement to fix one specific "part" of your biological machinery... The more people become willing to embrace this simple truth, the healthier everyone will get.
It's also worth pointing out that epigenetic effects begin before birth.
Epigenetic research from 2009 showed that rat fetuses receiving poor nutrition in the womb become genetically primed for a nutrition-poor environment. As a result of this genetic adaptation, the rats tended to be smaller. They were also at higher risk for a host of health problems throughout their lives, such as diabetes, growth retardation, cardiovascular disease, obesity, and neurodevelopmental delays. Again, while some are tempted to blame such "predispositions" on bad genes, the KEY factor is nutrition, i.e. the cellular environment.
If you're ready to address your dietary choices, read through my comprehensive nutrition plan, which will give you tips and tools for eating healthy, dealing with stress, and living a lifestyle that will support your epigenetic health.
You can also turn your genes off and on with your emotions too. Many, if not most people carry emotional scars; traumas that can adversely affect health. Using techniques like energy psychology, you can go in and correct the trauma and help regulate your genetic expression. My favorite technique for this is the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), but there are many others. Choose whichever one appeals to you, and if you don't sense any benefits, try another, until you find what works best for you.
Please, remember that 'You CAN Take Control of Your Health.'
Animals Are Natural Meditators
By Doug Knueven DVM
http://www.edgarcayce.org/are/blog.aspx?id=6301&blogid=445
Here's the way I look at it. Pets fill a need in the lives of those who love animals. With their instinct to comfort and heal us, they demonstrate qualities that even humans sometimes lack. I believe that pets have such an effect because they help us maintain contact with the natural worldβa connection which our modern lifestyles tend to eliminate.
Nature is infused with the divine. It is impossible for most people to study biology without developing a sense of awe for the beauty of the balance that is maintained in intricate, natural systems. Each of the billions of cells of the body has a life of its own, and yet they all cooperate to function as a whole. Animals, plants, microorganisms, and inert materials have developed amazingly complicated relationships in every ecosystem in the world. Even the celestial bodies have an orderly rhythm that mystifies the human mind. All of creation is alive with a palpable, heavenly heartbeat.
With a purr, a nudge, a lick or a wag, our pets can reunite us with the mysteries of the universe. For me, connecting with a pet on a spiritual level is one way of connecting with the divine.
Cats and Dogs: Benefits of Whole Foods Diet

Veterinarian on What a vet should recommend: Small Animals Benefit on Whole Foods Diet
Reading the Veterinarian Practice News I recently came across the following interesting article written by Doug Knueven, DVM and thought I need to share it with you:
βI returned to my alma mater, Ohio State University, in May 2007 to attend an American College of Veterinary Nutrition symposium. Three veterinary nutritionists spoke on such topics as βOptimal Nutrition for the Healthy Pet,β βNutrition Myths and Mistakes,β βRaw Food Dietsβ and βHome-Cooked Meals: Avoiding a Dining Disaster.β
Advice from Dr. Tony Buffington, the nutritionist at Ohio State, made the biggest impression on me. He said that when making a judgment on what food to recommend, the practitioner should not rely on pet food brochures, websites or even the food labels themselves because all these resources can be misleading.
He recommended that we take a careful diet history of each patient we see and make note of its general health. Only by correlating health with diet can a veterinarian truly judge the nutritional value of a food. I have made a startling discovery based on this sound expert advice: The healthiest pets in my practice eat a variety of βrealβ foods, including raw diets.
By real foods, I mean the kind of food Mother Nature intended carnivores to eatβthe diet our patients evolved eating for 5 million years.
Imagine if after your exam, your doctor plopped a bag of kibble on the table and told you that you were to only eat a bowl of it for every meal, every day, for the rest of your life. No fruits, no vegetables, no meats. Surely you would be skeptical of the nutritional completeness of such a recommendation.
Yet many of us make this same recommendation for our patients every day. Are the basic tenets of nutrition for our patients and us really that different? According to research and my clinical experience, they are not.
A recent study highlights the importance of whole food nutrition for people: βThere are 8,000 phytochemicals present in whole foods. These compounds differ in molecular size, polarity and solubility, and these differences may affect the bioavailability and distribution of each phytochemical in different macromolecules, subcellular organelles, cells, organs and tissues. β¦ The vitamin C in apples with skin accounts for only 0.4 percent of the total antioxidant activity, suggesting that most of the antioxidant activity of fruit and vegetables may come from phenolics and flavonoids. β¦ We propose that the additive and synergistic effects of phytochemicals in fruit and vegetables are responsible for their potent antioxidant and anticancer activities, and that the benefit of a diet rich in fruit and vegetables is attributed to the complex mixture of phytochemicals present in whole foods.β(1) Likewise, current veterinary research shows the health benefits of whole foods for dogs: βThe data indicate that the consumption of any type of vegetable > three times a week was associated with a 70 percent to 90 percent reduction in risk of developing TCC in Scottish Terriers.β(2)
Of course, a totally vegetarian diet is far from appropriate for dogs and cats, but the concept that they benefit from whole foods is obvious. In fact, the modern understanding of small-animal nutrition concedes that supplementing commercial foods with fresh foods, including meats and vegetables, provides vital nutrients.(3) The emphasis here is on βwhole foodsβ because, according to multiple studies, the processing of food destroys many nutrients and important phytochemicals.(4-10)
Variety is not only the spice of life, it is essential for vibrant health for humans and pets alike. Animals may become sensitive to the foods they are fed most often, so periodically changing the diet can help pets avoid food allergies. Plus, rotating foods presents to the body a smorgasbord of nutrients in various forms.
Any one diet may be lacking or excessive in specific factors when fed long term. According to Dr. Buffington, βThe recommendation to feed one food for the life of an animal gives nutritionists more credit than we deserve.β(11) The notion of finding a food that a pet likes and feeding it for life is obsolete.
I have found that when an animalβs system becomes accustomed to variety in the diet, it does not develop diarrhea with every change as might be expected. At first the changes need to be made gradually, but over time a smooth transition can be made swiftly.
Over a decade of recommending raw food for many of my patients and feeding it to my own pets, I have found that the concern over pathogenic bacteria and parasites is overblown.
I see many fewer cases of diarrhea in my raw-fed patients than in those fed strictly processed pet food. In my experience, dogs and cats fed a rotating diet that includes raw food are the healthiest. Careful and non-judgmental questioning of your clients might just yield the same results.β
To further strengthen his argument for a raw food diet, Dr. Knueven also provides a brief history of a live example, a patient he treated at his office:
βLouie was a neutered, male Newfoundland mix who came to me at the age of about 3 years with a terrible case of generalized demodicosis. He also had severe pruritus.
Before coming to me, Louie had been treated with several rounds of antibiotics as well as Ivermectin and at one point prednisone, all to no avail.
Louie had generalized alopecia and scabs and scales all over his body. His skin reeked of the typical rancid-fat smell of chronic dermatitis. He could barely open his eyes from the blepharitis. A skin scraping confirmed demodicosis.
Letβs face it, when it come to demodex, the problem is not the mites; itβs the petβs immune system. The course of action was simple; I switched him from a standard processed dog food to a raw food rotational diet plus a whole food multivitamin. At no time under my care was he on any antiparasitic medications.
Louie did not recover overnight. It took about a year for his transformation to fully manifest. β
Contribution by Dr. Doug Knueven, D.V.M. has been practicing alternative veterinary medicine since 1993 in Beaver County, Pa. He just released his second book, βThe Holistic Health Guide: Natural Care for the Whole Dog.β He is a consultant for Natureβs Variety.

Another great article!
Inspiring, informative and a joy to read!
and aspire to.
Thanks!
I've been munching on Spring dandelions. It's a glorious Spring!
My root state is, βI don't knowβ. I also don't care about a lot of external phenomena because 'everything is under control'. This is a lens through which I see things, that and 'for the purpose of demonstration'. I seldom think much about Masons, Illuminati or any other secret society, except the one I belong to and don't know the name of (grin). I'm assuming the initiations I've gone through are connected to some group. I am seldom told anything and I'm told there's a very good reason for that.
I'm thankful that the vast majority of readers and listeners are more than sane, because generic sane is not sane. You become insane and dysfunctional when your intention is to conform to a social structure that is pathological and abnormal. Most present day cultures are like this. People try to fit in and adapt to ever more bizarre constructs, that are fueled by warped political correctness and venal self interest on the part of scoundrels and psychopaths. That is insane and that is what people become when they live on the corner of Shit and Go Blind. Thankfully, we have The Apocalypse on our side and the waking up factor is exponential as time goes by. The curve of awakening become steeper and broader. They are racing against time in a battle they can't win because the battle has already been won. We are living in the echo of a victory that has not physically manifested but which is precipitating down from the ethers.
There are many industrious souls and I want this post to contain a positive note. This will also introduce you to a website where you can attempt the same thing if you have the chops. We have a long time reader named Imron, who comes around here regular and doesn't comment so much anymore. He has visited me several times and I know him as one of the most honest and industrious people whose path has ever crossed mine. He's been seriously engaged in restoring his business. He was driven out of it by the usual suspects at one point but he is one pointed and comprehensively working to make his dream come true. His intentions in the aftermath are honorable and I bring him to your attention for several reasons. One is that of a single example of the right stuff among us and which is representative in a lot of the people who come here and another is to provide inspiration for your own potential efforts. We have to get out of the mindset that the world is ending. The world doesn't end. It changes. We change, until we become changeless. When we can no longer change, death appears to liberate us from the confines of whatever entangled us, to the point that we couldn't proceed forward. Everything is orchestrated and programmed and this is why I'm not overly concerned about certain details. I don't believe that we're all fucked. I think there's a lot of hocus pocus and a lot of bad information on all sides of the fence.
The world is very much like an amusement park, a circus, a carnival, a theme park, a game park, a coliseum, where we compete against long enduring obstacles and traps, where we compete against each other and war against ourselves because of the separated self feature. It's all about arriving at a place where you don't compete at all, where you have 'arrived'. It's a place where you pass by all of the attractions that people give their lives and more for and you are not attracted to them. They're there for your use or for demonstration whenever that's required. The under control feature that appeared out of control, has now revealed itself as being completely under control, in that significant moment for the purpose of demonstration.
What you see in this world is an endless routine of people going about their personal business, over and over and over; succeeding, failing, living and dying, over and over and over. The environments change. The conditions change and there's only one piece of business that ever has any lasting importance and until a person addresses that they are just spinning their wheels. This is not to say that many of the things we get up to are not relevant and need doing. Dharma and Karma are very real and good Karma is preferable to bad Karma. You might think that this would be transparently obvious but for some reason, a lot of people don't get this and run around making all kinds of bad Karma. Maybe they've convinced themselves that there is no overarching authority. In times of material darkness, the smoke from various passions can completely obscure the vision. You're surrounded by energy magnets of considerable power. They're the human state equivalent of Venus Flytrap plants.
Study the world as it goes past you. Observe the direction and result of what people get up to. You learn all kinds of things, watching people of different ages. I'm not saying that there is no purpose to anything. I'm saying there's one purpose to everything and if that awareness is present in everything you do then everything you do is an expression of it. We wouldn't be here if we didn't have a job to do or bills to pay. The point is to become untangled from the mix, not further entangled into it but... the draw of the thing is very strong in this period of time and that is why so many people are flowing with the current as it travels on its way to the abyss, for the purpose of demonstration.
The evidence of what is taking place should be as clear as water from an uncontaminated spring. However, if the senses doing the perceiving are contaminated then you're going to get wrong information. It's like wearing special glasses that have their own hallucinations embedded in them, or they channel all the primal atavistic urges for war and plunder and people think what they see is what is in front of them instead of a morphed reality driven by dirty fires. Well, that's how it is today. It's better than that but it is much worse too, depends on where you are and it depends on who you are.

dick cheney Profiles in Evil
http://profilesinevil.blogspot.com/
Dick (can I call you Dick?), you worked for Richard Nixon back in the early days and since then you have been a malignant boil on the ass of humanity. Whether this is the result of a deep and abiding hostility for the human race, or simply the result of humanity searching for its cellphone, to call for help, is for the historians to decide. The good news is that it is people like you, who decide what the historians will write and certainly people like yourself who determine which of these efforts will see the light of day.
Weβre not surprised that your heart attacked you or that your daughter (PC alert!!!) wonβt go near men, due to your outstanding work on her emotional body, though her mental body remained programmed and intact, to assist you in your work. As I look over the sum of your industry in this world, I can think of only one positive act that you have committed in your entire life; you shot a lawyer in the face, albeit, a half hearted, bird shot effort. They say the heart is a lonely hunter and yours has run so hard and so far in fear, shame and self loathing that it too is now lodged in some nether region.
Like some denatured woodland creature, you now seek to foul your nest before you have even left it, by saying bad things about your partners in crime. Iβll bet if you were in the dock you would sing like a bird.
Iβm fairly competent in the use of words but I am rendered speechless in my attempts to reach a definition or describe you. All I can come up with are things like, βyou vicious, evil sonofabitchβ and βyou monstrous low to the ground, blood sucking, shit-weaselβ These donβt get the job done, Dick. These could certainly be applied to lesser men, whose works resemble your own, on a smaller scale, but they just canβt approach the dimension of your vile escapades on this tormented planet.
Your intellectual progeny now seek to destroy fresh nations, whose leaders are like Jesus Christ in comparison to you. I wonβt attempt to list the extent of your accomplishments, there are too many of them and there are, no doubt, many more that we are unfamiliar with. I can list some of the highlights; Your direct involvement in the commission of the 9/11 attacks, your concerted efforts to bring about the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, under false pretenses, based on acts committed by you and your Zio-Nazi, super swine in arms, who, like yourself, were conceived in some dark recess of Hell; some laboratory of the damned that bears a striking similarity to The Island of Dr. Moreau on steroids. You and your partners in crime are Klingons in the Devilβs anus; animate shit golems, with hands and hearts of fire and ice.
When you watch the news from Libya and other parts of the world; when you see events that you are directly or indirectly complicit in, Dick, do you play with yourself? Does your family watch or do they sit by your side with similarly busy hands? Is this why your heart has fled? Has it run into darkness, due to the frenzy of your celebrations, rather than in horror at your acts? It wouldnβt have been a normal heart by any definition at any time, Dick. Do you dream of dark things still unaccomplished? Is there will and time enough to seek new opportunity to complete your unfinished business?
You and Rumsfeld and Rice, Wolfowitz, Pearle and Feith (sounds like a law firm doesnβt it), certainly did a job on the world and despite everything, all of you are still defiant, defensive and still on the job, in one way or another. Youβre beyond my ken, all of you. I engage in my own version of remote viewing and all I can fathom is the remoteness. Itβs a thick brimming darkness, where Leviathan dwells, unless you and your crew have already had him for dinner, instead of the other way around. All of you should be eternally bound victims in an endlessly looping, slasher flick but that is not enough. This is why vengeance and judgment cannot be mine. I do not possess the imagination necessary to make the punishment fit the crimes, only the cosmos has the depth and ingenuity to determine what that should be.
The mind numbing mystery and incongruity of it all is that you have not a care of what waits around the corner. There seems to be no awareness at all of what is surely to come for you and your fellows and minions. You are like those brave bomber and fighter pilots of the modern era, who deal flaming death from the skies upon those without weapons and consider yourselves brave warriors. You gather in the watering holes and canteens and regale one another with your acts of courage. With your Freddy Mercury moustaches you imagine that βWe are the Championsβ is playing for you, when itβs more like the soundtrack to βCruisingβ. Perhaps it is to be understood in that immense detachment, of distance and observation, of the generic Chickenhawk. You donβt know what itβs like down there, even though you are the cause of it.
You must believe your own press. You and your fellows who torture, confine and murder must be wearing special glasses, in which your heroism is clearly to be seen. I once offered to meet you and Lilβ George in combat for the fate of humanity but I never heard from you, even thought you were to be armed with knives to offset your handicaps. No doubt your busy schedule precluded this.
Dick, that burning eternal darkness approaches closer by the hour. One day will be the day and there will be dancing in the street, even if it is only me. Iβll take a large dose of ketamine and go into my hyper-viewing mode. I wouldnβt want to miss the action on the other side of the Mobius strip. For the moment, Iβm going to root for Colonel Khadaffi, a man of more honor and courage than you will ever know.

It's a question of whether you actually want to understand what someone is saying, or whether you want to argue with them; the latter is the case, far too often around this planet.
We live in combative and contentious times. We've got an extremely large collection of experts and dilettantes who are often both. Pontificating has reached the same epidemic level as texting. I've never texted anyone, nor would I go anywhere near Twitter, or even read anything said there. I'm not suggesting that everyone ever engaged in either of these is aberrant or wrong, I'm just saying it's not for me. My messages build up at Facebook. I seldom check them. It's accidental really. It just doesn't occur to me. I don't do PM's and I try to keep Skype closed. I seldom use the phone. I have a cellphone I bought for my trip and it has yet to get a sim card. I don't go to restaurants or night clubs. I don't talk to people very often and none of this has anything to do with much, except to say that that is where my life has taken me. I'm really bringing all of this up because I think it's important for people to realize that, quite possibly, the majority of what is going on in this world may have nothing valuable to do with you.
People live with unnecessary concerns. They obsess about why they can't get along with certain people. They guilt trip themselves about things that happened. They scheme and plot for the acquisition of items, fatal to their health and well being. They go around in fear of the unknown and confusion about the known. They desperately want things to make sense and often they do not. You may never get an explanation for a lot of things. People desire things that trap them, thinking some measure of security will come out of them. They want meaning, without realizing that so many of the things they have and want are responsible for their inability to find meaning. They're afraid to admit to themselves that most of what is forced down their throats, by politically correct agents of the infernal throne, aren't okay, in their extreme presentation, and never have been. People go in horror of taking unpopular stands. Well, the truth is, you don't have to take a stand about anything. You just have to recognize what common sense should tell you and you can keep your peace about any and all of it; should you choose to. There's no real point to playing Don Quixote, unless the cosmos wants to demonstrate something through you and there's no telling what that might be. It might be flat out positive.
We don't have to get along with everyone else. We only have to get along with ourselves. If we can do that the rest of it will sort itself out. Most people don't know why they're here and know even less about why everyone else is here. Most disease and death is the result of stress. The rest can be chalked up to bad judgment and a couple of other things. Stress and fear are a tandem. People want to feel important and needed. They want to feel valued, yet they don't take the trouble to make the acquaintance of the one who confers all of this in the best possible way. βSeek ye first the kingdom of heaven and all of these things will be added unto youβ. That covers every surface, no matter how exhaustive, byzantine and complex it may appear or be presented as; no matter how semantically convoluted it comes across. You can ignore the entire Thomas Aquinas, Sigmund Freud, Rheumatoid Arthritis Syndrome and just head on to Peaceful Valley or Cold Mountain, without all those angels dancing on the head of a pin; just my two cents for what it's worth.

Theatre of the Absurd
http://les-visible.blogspot.com/
Wherever we go in this world there is stress awaiting our appearance and looking for an avenue of expression. During these times, forces in the material world are doing everything in their power to reduce the quality of life and to humiliate and oppress the public at every turn, while agents of these forces enrich themselves at the expense of the public they are mistreating. It has reached the theater of the absurd. Terrorists, who are no more than agents of your own government, have engineered tragic and ridiculous events in order to force you into unpleasant circumstances, while intentionally ratcheting up anger and animosity toward the Muslims and others.
You know that you are being shortchanged and stolen from at every turn and it makes you angry and frustrated and thatβs the point. That is the very point, because the seemingly powerful agencies who are putting you through this, are themselves working for a consciousness that has been around a long time and which specializes in anger; despair, torment, want, loss and a gamut of injuries. The point of this is to take your mind off of your natural autonomy and freedom and to put your mind on thoughts of confinement, fear, outrage and a further gamut of such states of being.
The true intention of the forces, looking to make you insecure and suspicious of everything around you, is to take your attention away from the portals that are opening and away from the benefits of awakening. Awakening is not just about people being forced to see. It is about being made able to see yourself and others as you truly are.
You find that when you just wholesale reject the lies and pressures of those seeking to perform all manner of indignities upon you, that they lose their power to do so. You find that stores give you back your money and that money finds a way to appear when you need it. You find that what seems so normal and predictable can suddenly turn into awe-making and entertaining events. You find that you are given tests and opportunities to overcome the usual responses of your reactive mind and are then freed, by degrees, from the reoccurrence of these responses. Still the reactive mind and you are free.
I know it looks like some very bad people are in control of everything but that is an illusion that exists for those with the will and capacity to believe in them. Theyβve got nothing. Theyβre trying to rattle your cage but you have the keys. Let them rattle an empty cage. When people suddenly come out of nowhere and impugn you or behave in a negative way, take the opportunity to be graceful and see what it gets you. Donβt argue about anything. Simply state your case and then leave it in the hands of the cosmos. Itβs all happening for a reason. There are no accidents. There are only the degrees of your inability to see and this is caused by residence in the cloud of self-interest. You donβt have to be looking out for your interests all the time. Your interests are being looked out for. You assume that responsibility and you will get that responsibility.
The difference between the trusting nature of a child, who is always learning and who naturally understands, the only unified field reality anyone needs to know and that of an adult, who knows everything, most of which is wrong, is considerable and so are the pains and rewards. You are the victim of what you think you know and what you think you know is mostly based on what the world tells you and those things that happened to you via telepathic invasion, when you were too small to protect yourself, which is how you got out of childhood in the first place. Once lies are seated in the subconscious, they become real... as far as real goes. The weeds grow among the flowers and require an attentive gardener.
Survival has a lot more to do with perspective and perception than it has to do with apprehension and presumptive preparations. For most people, the preparations are going on in the wrong theater of being but that is because their being is outside of its natural house of residence. Every problem can be solved, the way knots untangle at the hands of the one who understands how they got made. The last person I would ask for advice would be myself, seeing as I am the one who got me into that position, or someone else who appears to be trapped some other way and thinks they are free.

OUR GOVERNMENT AT WORK!! DOING WHAT IT DOES BEST!
Two Dulles Airport TSA staffers recently arrested for sex crimes
http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/322074#ixzz1qj0cOHma
http://tsanewsblog.com/2204/news/tsa-agents-arrested-at-dulles-airport/
In November, I was barred from my flight at Dulles Airport for a double opt-out. I refused to go through a blue-box backscatter (x-ray) body scanner, and I refused to endure an intimate feel-up from a woman I didnβt know. The body scanners at Dulles have no privacy filter. Backscatter machines dose passengers with carcinogenic ionizing radiation to create images of their naked bodies for inspection by a screener working in the hidden viewing booth.
What I sensed was happening at that airport β targeting young women for special security attention out of sexual motivation [/b]β now seems even more difficult for the TSA to deny. Not one, but two of the men working for TSA at Dulles Airport on that day have now been arrested for sex crimes.
Just three days after my refusal, police arrested a Dulles screener, Harold Rodman, and charged him with aggravated sexual battery, object sexual penetration, forcible sodomy, and abduction with intent to defile. His accuser says that he flashed his TSA badge to initiate the assault before he lured her away from her friend and attacked her.
I can have no proof, of course, that alleged rapist Harold Rodman was in the viewing booth that morning, but neither can I be assured that he was not. He was employed as a screener at that airport on the same day that another male screener directed me into the scanner while sending my husband through a simple metal detector.
But surely the TSA must have its house in order with regard to how it treats women? At the very least, if Harold Rodman or other screeners were indeed targeting women, then someone higher up in the organization, say, a Transportation Security Manager, would be there to correct the situation?
In fact, a Transportation Security Manager did present himself at the checkpoint that day to see to it that I was either electronically strip-searched or sexually fondled to his satisfaction. That manβs name was Bryant Livingston. I still have his card on my desk.
Bryant Livingston, TSA Security Manager, was arrested at Dulles Airport and charged with five counts involving prostitution. He was allegedly running a prostitution ring out of a Silver Spring hotel room. Law enforcement officers found four men and three naked women in a room. One man admitted to police he had arrived with the promise of sex for $100.
This is how the TSA respects women.
The TSA issued a statement after Livingstonβs arrest: βThe allegations against this individual are unacceptable and in no way reflect the integrity and professionalism of the more than 50,000 security officers who strive every day to ensure the security of the traveling public.β
After Rodmanβs arrest, the TSA stated: βThe disturbing allegations against this individual in no way reflect the work of the more than 50,000 security officers who every day ensure the security of the traveling public.β
Exactly how many sexual predators per airport does the TSA get to disclaim responsibility for hiring?
The TSA is well aware that its procedures involve sexually invasive touching and processing sensitive nude images. True, most screeners charged with serious sex crimes are fired and lose government immunity for shoving their hands down strangersβ pants. But if the TSAβs vaunted behavior detection program were anything more than a fistful of make-believe, it could use this program to get rid of the sexual abusers on TSAβs payroll.
Then again, that might actually make passengers more safe and secure. So Iβm not holding my breath.

Episode-858- Lierre Keith on The Vegetarian Myth
http://www.thesurvivalpodcast.com/episode-858-lierre-keith-on-the-vegetarian-myth
I first found Lierre Keith on Peak Moment TV being interviewed by Janaia Donaldson. She is the author of a book highly recommended by Robb Wolf called, βThe Vegetarian Mythβ. When I heard her explain many of the roots of why we are told veganism is so good for us I knew I had to bring her on TSP.
The Forward of The Vegetarian Myth explains, βWeβve been told that a vegetarian diet can feed the hungry, honor the animals, and save the planet. Lierre Keith believed in that plant-based diet and spent twenty years as a vegan. But in The Vegetarian Myth, she argues that weβve been led astrayβnot by our longings for a just and sustainable world, but by our ignorance.
The truth is that agriculture is a relentless assault against the planet, and more of the same wonβt save us. In service to annual grains, humans have devastated prairies and forests, driven countless species extinct, altered the climate, and destroyed the topsoilβthe basis of life itself. Keith argues that if we are to save this planet, our food must be an act of profound and abiding repair: it must come from inside living communities, not be imposed across them.

The Great Cholesterol Lie
World Renown Heart Surgeon Speaks Out On What Really Causes Heart Disease
By Tonion March 2, 2012
http://www.laleva.org/eng/2012/03/world_renown_heart_surgeon_speaks_out_on_what_really_causes_heart_disease.html
We physicians with all our training, knowledge and authority often acquire a rather large ego that tends to make it difficult to admit we are wrong. So, here it is. I freely admit to being wrong.. As a heart surgeon with 25 years experience, having performed over 5,000 open-heart surgeries, today is my day to right the wrong with medical and scientific fact.
It Is Not Working!
These recommendations are no longer scientifically or morally defensible. The discovery a few years ago that inflammation in the artery wall is the real cause of heart disease is slowly leading to a paradigm shift in how heart disease and other chronic ailments will be treated.
The long-established dietary recommendations have created epidemics of obesity and diabetes, the consequences of which dwarf any historical plague in terms of mortality, human suffering and dire economic consequences.
Despite the fact that 25% of the population takes expensive statin medications and despite the fact we have reduced the fat content of our diets, more Americans will die this year of heart disease than ever before.
Statistics from the American Heart Association show that 75 million Americans currently suffer from heart disease, 20 million have diabetes and 57 million have pre-diabetes. These disorders are affecting younger and younger people in greater numbers every year.
Simply stated, without inflammation being present in the body, there is no way that cholesterol would accumulate in the wall of the blood vessel and cause heart disease and strokes. Without inflammation, cholesterol would move freely throughout the body as nature intended. It is inflammation that causes cholesterol to become trapped.
Inflammation is not complicated -- it is quite simply your body's natural defence to a foreign invader such as a bacteria, toxin or virus. The cycle of inflammation is perfect in how it protects your body from these bacterial and viral invaders. However, if we chronically expose the body to injury by toxins or foods the human body was never designed to process,a condition occurs called chronic inflammation. Chronic inflammation is just as harmful as acute inflammation is beneficial.
What thoughtful person would willfully expose himself repeatedly to foods or other substances that are known to cause injury to the body? Well, smokers perhaps, but at least they made that choice willfully.
The rest of us have simply followed the recommended mainstream diet that is low in fat and high in polyunsaturated fats and carbohydrates, not knowing we were causing repeated injury to our blood vessels. This repeated injury creates chronic inflammation leading to heart disease, stroke, diabetes and obesity.
Let me repeat that: The injury and inflammation in our blood vessels is caused by the low fat diet recommended for years by mainstream medicine.
What are the biggest culprits of chronic inflammation? Quite simply, they are the overload of simple, highly processed carbohydrates (sugar, flour and all the products made from them) and the excess consumption of omega-6 vegetable oils like soybean, corn and sunflower that are found in many processed foods.
Take a moment to visualize rubbing a stiff brush repeatedly over soft skin until it becomes quite red and nearly bleeding. you kept this up several times a day, every day for five years. If you could tolerate this painful brushing, you would have a bleeding, swollen infected area that became worse with each repeated injury. This is a good way to visualize the inflammatory process that could be going on in your body right now.
Regardless of where the inflammatory process occurs, externally or internally, it is the same. I have peered inside thousands upon thousands of arteries. A diseased artery looks as if someone took a brush and scrubbed repeatedly against its wall. Several times a day, every day, the foods we eat create small injuries compounding into more injuries, causing the body to respond continuously and appropriately with inflammation.
While we savor the tantalizing taste of a sweet roll, our bodies respond alarmingly as if a foreign invader arrived declaring war. Foods loaded with sugars and simple carbohydrates, or processed with omega-6 oils for long shelf life have been the mainstay of the American diet for six decades. These foods have been slowly poisoning everyone.
How does eating a simple sweet roll create a cascade of inflammation to make you sick?
Imagine spilling syrup on your keyboard and you have a visual of what occurs inside the cell. When we consume simple carbohydrates such as sugar, blood sugar rises rapidly. In response, your pancreas secretes insulin whose primary purpose is to drive sugar into each cell where it is stored for energy. If the cell is full and does not need glucose, it is rejected to avoid extra sugar gumming up the works.
When your full cells reject the extra glucose, blood sugar rises producing more insulin and the glucose converts to stored fat.
What does all this have to do with inflammation? Blood sugar is controlled in a very narrow range. Extra sugar molecules attach to a variety of proteins that in turn injure the blood vessel wall. This repeated injury to the blood vessel wall sets off inflammation. When you spike your blood sugar level several times a day, every day, it is exactly like taking sandpaper to the inside of your delicate blood vessels.
While you may not be able to see it, rest assured it is there. I saw it in over 5,000 surgical patients spanning 25 years who all shared one common denominator -- inflammation in their arteries.
Letβs get back to the sweet roll. That innocent looking goody not only contains sugars, it is baked in one of many omega-6 oils such as soybean. Chips and fries are soaked in soybean oil; processed foods are manufactured with omega-6 oils for longer shelf life. While omega-6βs are essential -they are part of every cell membrane controlling what goes in and out of the cell -- they must be in the correct balance with omega-3βs.
If the balance shifts by consuming excessive omega-6, the cell membrane produces chemicals called cytokines that directly cause inflammation.
Todayβs mainstream American diet has produced an extreme imbalance of these two fats. The ratio of imbalance ranges from 15:1 to as high as 30:1 in favor of omega-6. Thatβs a tremendous amount of cytokines causing inflammation. In todayβs food environment, a 3:1 ratio would be optimal and healthy.
To make matters worse, the excess weight you are carrying from eating these foods creates overloaded fat cells that pour out large quantities of pro-inflammatory chemicals that add to the injury caused by having high blood sugar. The process that began with a sweet roll turns into a vicious cycle over time that creates heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes and finally, Alzheimerβs disease, as the inflammatory process continues unabated.
There is no escaping the fact that the more we consume prepared and processed foods, the more we trip the inflammation switch little by little each day. The human body cannot process, nor was it designed to consume, foods packed with sugars and soaked in omega-6 oils.
There is but one answer to quieting inflammation, and that is returning to foods closer to their natural state. To build muscle, eat more protein. Choose carbohydrates that are very complex such as colorful fruits and vegetables. Cut down on or eliminate inflammation- causing omega-6 fats like corn and soybean oil and the processed foods that are made from them.
One tablespoon of corn oil contains 7,280 mg of omega-6; soybean contains 6,940 mg. Instead, use olive oil or butter from grass-fed beef.
Animal fats contain less than 20% omega-6 and are much less likely to cause inflammation than the supposedly healthy oils labelled polyunsaturated. Forget the βscienceβ that has been drummed into your head for decades. The science that saturated fat alone causes heart disease is non-existent. The science that saturated fat raises blood cholesterol is also very weak. Since we now know that cholesterol is not the cause of heart disease, the concern about saturated fat is even more absurd today.
The cholesterol theory led to the no-fat, low-fat recommendations that in turn created the very foods now causing an epidemic of inflammation. Mainstream medicine made a terrible mistake when it advised people to avoid saturated fat in favor of foods high in omega-6 fats. We now have an epidemic of arterial inflammation leading to heart disease and other silent killers.
What you can do is choose whole foods your grandmother served and not those your mom turned to as grocery store aisles filled with manufactured foods. By eliminating inflammatory foods and adding essential nutrients from fresh unprocessed food, you will reverse years of damage in your arteries and throughout your body from consuming the typical American diet.

Money Laundering: A Delicate, Dangerous Art
http://www.creators.com/lifestylefeatures/business-and-finance/taking-stock/money-laundering-a-delicate-dangerous-art.html
EXCERPT
Dear Mr. Berko: A friend of mine is going to sell a building he's owned for years at a very large profit, and the tax bite, according to one accountant, will be almost $120,000. A New York City lawyer and CPA he consulted said he could avoid these taxes with an impossible-to-detect series of electronic commodity money transactions.
Can you tell me how this works and how safe it is? They told my friend that Jon Corzine is one of the geniuses who devised this transaction method.
Dear BA: I recently had a discussion with a knowledgeable banker who said that some lawyers may call this scheme a money transfer, but the IRS will call it laundering. It's as easy as pie to do an electronic transfer and cause billions of dollars to dance an Irish jig through a series of international accounts in England, Germany, Spain and New York. A little greed goes a long way, turning dirty money into clean cash, ripe and ready to spend.
It can begin with the legitimate purchase, sale and delivery of a high-demand commodity (oil, wheat, copper, coffee, etc.) using a hedge fund or commodity trading firm such as MF Global to execute transactions involving a series of major banks around the globe. So when all the trade debits and credits are settled from the laundered money, the resulting amount is moved electronically to a designated "safe bank" that's immune to the demands of the IRS or the State Department. It may be one of the banks in the Bahamas, the Republic of Vanuatu, Lichtenstein, or, as some suggest, the sacrosanct Vatican Bank.
Sophisticated electronic commodity trades β the stuff at which MF Global excelled when Jon "Crafty" Corzine took over β are used by drug dealers, arms merchants, dictators, oligarchs, politicians, big-time financial swindlers and the like to wash the stink from their cash. The proceeds from purchase, sale and delivery contracts are commingled daily (washed) with hundreds of billions of dollars of similar electronic transactions, and selected laundry pieces are key-stroked to a specified non-complying bank.
And because the international purchase, sale and delivery of contracts of corn, nickel, soybeans, etc., involve multiple participants and are not considered cash transfers, it's almost impossible to identify the offending source.
However, if the funds to be laundered basically require a one-time transaction, the process is a lot less convoluted. The purchase or sale, through a middleman, of a substantial asset (a piece of art, a 747, a yacht, real estate, diamonds, etc.) at a price significantly higher or lower than its value, or the sale of a similar asset at a price much higher or below its value, can achieve the same results.
Your "friend's" paltry $120,000 isn't enough for these big boys to spit on, though. And I suspect that those New York City boys could pull a double-cross on your friend. And if those slickers run off into the sunset, to whom can your friend complain?
Your friend ought to come out of the closet and tell the NYC lawyer and CPA to take a long walk off a short alp, and then he ought to hire one of the many fine CPAs and tax attorneys in Syracuse and pay the butcher bill. He'll certainly sleep better at night, and there should be enough money left to invest.
There's an enormous difference between avoiding taxes and evading them. Evaders get put in prison, where they're entitled to free room, board and medical care, and some enjoy the evening's available entertainment. Your legal bills can be enormous, and the fines and penalties will give you angina. Avoiders usually pay the tax deficiency plus interest.
E*Tradeβs unknown Dubai customers
May 9, 2011
http://moneyjihad.wordpress.com/2011/05/09/etrades-unknown-dubai-customers/
The online stock trading company E*Trade owes Dubai at least $200,000 and up to $300,000 in fines for its failures to comply with anti-money laundering requirements including know-your-customer provisions.
Whatβs disturbing about the news is the faint suggestion that nefarious characters could be investing and trading with E*Tradeβs Dubai unit. E*Trade is closing 1,200 customer accounts in the wake of this news. That means E*Trade may have had 1,200 customers for whom they could not document the source of their wealth or for whom they lacked current customer information.
Hat tip to Bachir El-Nakib from Compliance Alert for the following:
E*TRADE acknowledges these deficiencies which include failing to:
β’Obtain sufficient documentary evidence of its clientsβ origin of funds and/or sources of wealth;
β’Obtain, for some of its clients, sufficient documentary evidence of address or appropriately certified copy documents;
β’Have adequate polices in place to ensure that documentation concerning a clientβs identity remains accurate and up-to-date, resulting in E*TRADEβs failure to request and obtain updated Know Your Customer documents;
β’Have policies, procedures, systems and controls to adequately address the need to assess the money laundering risk of its clients; and
β’Ensure that its compliance resources were sufficient given the nature and scale of its business activities.
Now if Dubai could just apply the same standards to real estate corporations, zakat charities, and hawaladars in the U.A.E., weβd be on the right track.

How to Launder Money in the Futures Market
by J. Orlin Grabbe
http://www.orlingrabbe.com/futlaund.htm
About J. Orlin Grabbe
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Orlin_Grabbe
EXCERPT
The key way to use futures contracts to launder money is to arrange things so that the losing side of the contract involves "dirty" money. Michael Sindona, who ought to know, defined money laundering by the statement that "laundering money is to switch the black money or dirty money . . . to clean money." That definition is somewhat circular, but you get the idea. "Dirty" money is money that comes from illegal, or questionable, or unknown activities. Or it may just be ordinary money that one wants to make disappear. "Clean" money, on the other hand, comes from known and legal sources. For example, money earned from a futures contract is "clean" money: its source is well- defined, legal, and known. The terms "dirty" and "clean" are somewhat archaic. Money currently exists mostly in the form of electronic tokens: a digital series of 1s and 0s in bank computers. In this context, dirty money can be thought of as "naughty bits."
For example, in the late 1970s, Hillary Clinton made just shy of $100,000 in the cattle futures market. The source of the money was known: it was clean money collected in her account at the CME. She read the Wall Street Journal and rode the upward wave of cattle prices, she said. (Of course, there is a problem with this explanation. An analysis of her trades shows that most of her profits were made by going short cattle futures. That is, most of her $100,000 was made in periods when cattle prices were temporarily falling during this period of overall rising prices. Tyson Foods' attorney Jim Blair apparently forgot to inform Hillary what trades actually took place in her futures account.)
Now the obvious question arises: how do you arrange to get the price direction right? If prices fall, the short side will gain money and the long side will lose, so you want the long (losing) side to possess the dirty money. If prices are rising, you want the dirty money to be on the short side. Suppose you expect the price of the notional bond contract at the Paris MATIF to fall, so you arrange for the dirty money futures account to be long futures contracts. You also open another "clean" money futures account in another name to be short futures contracts. You then wait for prices to fall, expecting the dirty money to disappear into the black hole of futures losses, while clean money comes pouring into the "clean" account. But, instead, to your surprise, prices rise! The dirty money account thus collects more cash, while clean money is sucked out of the other account. It's a laundry in reverse: clean clothes in, dirty clothes out.
To prevent a problem like this, it helps to have the cooperation of a helpful futures broker. Let's call this broker-facilitator-prestidigitator by the name of Merlin Lynch. Merlin Lynch will create a long futures position to match the position of the party that is short futures, and a short futures position to match the party that is long futures. Merlin Lynch will, of course, extract a profit for itself--let's say in the form of a nice, fat round-turn commission of $13 per contract.
Let's say the dirty money is held in an account under the name of Dirty Dick. It is intended that clean money be accumulated into an account under the name of Clean Jane. Now there will be price fluctuations during almost all trading days, so Merlin Lynch makes matched trades at two materially different prices during the day. Let's say Merlin has customer money that needs laundering, and decides to do it using the copper futures contract at the COMEX. At a random time in the morning, Merlin Lynch enters the market and buys (goes long) 100 contracts, say at a price of 94.20 cents per lb., while simultaneously selling (going short) 100 contracts, say at a price of 94.10 cents per lb. The price of 94.10 represents the market's bid price, the price at which the market will purchase the futures contracts which Merlin is selling. The price of 94.20 represents the market's asked price, the price at which the market will sell to Merlin the futures contracts Merlin is buying.
Later, at a random time shortly before the close of trading, Merlin Lynch sells (goes short) the 100 contracts, say at a price of 92.30 cents per lb., and simultaneously purchases (goes long) 100 contracts at 92.40 cents per lb. Now Merlin is ready to launder some money. Since the price has fallen, Merlin assigns the purchase of 100 contracts at 94.20 to the Dirty Dick account, along with the sale of 100 contracts at 92.30. Since each COMEX futures contract represents 25,000 lb. of copper, the net loss to the Dirty Dick account is $(.9420-.9230)x25,000x100 = $47,500.
Meanwhile, Merlin assigns the sale of 100 contracts at 94.10 to the Clean Jane account, along with the purchase of 100 contracts at 92.40. The net gain to the Clean Jane account is $(.9410-.9240)x25,000x100 = $42,500. The $5,000 difference is the amount paid to the market for the laundering service. In addition, Merlin Lynch gets a brokerage fee of $13x100x2 = $2600, for a net cost of $7,600 to launder $47,500. This amounts to a laundering cost percentage of 16 percent. At these prices, the process is not terribly efficient, but workable in some cases. The natural evolution of the market will be to create more efficient, less costly laundering structures. This can be done in the current example by squeezing commission costs and bid-asked spreads.
To avoid raising eyebrows, the Dirty Dick account should be held by a party apparently unaffiliated with the holder of the Clean Jane account. For example, the Dirty Dick account could be held by Giant Copper Traders, Ltd., while the Clean Jane account is held by Uninsulated Wire Company. The clean cash accumulates to the benefit of Uninsulated Wire Company, who returns the favor by paying premium (above average) prices to Giant Copper Traders for supplies of copper. Uninsulated Wire Company, naturally, will want to gain something for its role in assisting the laundry process, so the premium price they pay for copper should not eat up the entire amount of its futures profit. This will increase Giant Copper Traders' cost of laundering funds.
Of course, if your intent is simply to bribe some politician, then the Dirty Dick account should be assigned to the company or other party paying the bribe, while the Clean Jane account should be assigned to the politician receiving the bribe (or to one of his trusted friends or relatives).

Human trafficking industry thrives in Portland metro area http://www.oregonlive.com/portland/index.ssf/2010/01/human_trafficking_industry_thr.html
Oregon is a growing hub for forced prostitution & Portland has become a center for human trafficking for several reasons. Oregon was named βpornlandβ by Dan Rather in a television report that brought national attention to sex trafficking in the Pacific NW. Sex Trafficking is a serious problem in Oregon, concentrated in the Portland area, and extending from the I-5 corridor to outlying cities and rural communities. One of the worst areas for it runs along lines running roughly from Seattle to Portland, to San Francisco and Los Angeles, to Las Vegas. But no place in the country is immune. Traffickers face few risks and earn huge profits, greater profits than drug and arms trafficking by some estimates, because unlike drugs and weapons, human slave labor is repeatedly exploitable.
