Hope so........At least I got them to raise the bid a little. Not necessarily intended, but a good short-term result. Spitting rain here today & is only supposed to get around 57-60........it needs to hurry
Found the local library before our golf outing...I see we're back to a more 'reasonable' spread.
Well see if they want to slip the ask down .005 and .01!!
Jas.....supposed to be around 50 or so here in So. Alabama------you can keep the snow. Rich
Nice volume today.......Whether your efforts have resulted in any of this yet, or not.........do you have any feedback methods in place that would give you any ideas as to whether your readers become new shareholders------(in any of the companies you promote)? Just curious as to how you know(and how the companies know) that you have been successful. Rich
You attempted to post a chart. It now says it has expired. Could you indicate whether it was just a plain CVIA chart.....or did you compare the price with something---like a ## day moving average, etc? Rich
I'm sure glad you all understand what you are trying to do. TIA
Ok........today is a new day......so here we go???
To continue......Willy, having cleared my head on the last post....I'm still glad that some shareholder has seen fit to do something to try to increase public awareness of tyhe company. We certainly are aware that the company has not done any significant PR work in the past. Hopefully they are too busy building a foundation now. Any way, welcome aboard.
Also, I do understand that you need to be paid something for your time and efforts. I also understand why you might have an unwritten principal dealing with investments in companies you profile, and why you don't like 144 shares.
And, in response to an earlier comment from Josie (where she asked for comments), I donn't think that the detractors that arrived with Willy will have much of a negative effect on Willys efforts. IMHO, if they have followed Willy for some time, they are already aware of these individuals, their tactics, their obvious opinion of Willy, etc. Therefore, If Willys folks do their DD and like what they see as an investment, I feel they will still invest.
OK, I'll quit now.
Willy......just some comments (some I tried to send earlier, but couldn't get them sent):
I perceive part of the problems you are currently having with some of the longs possibly due to your choice of wording.
1. If you feel you were 'kicked in the teeth by someone repreenting the company', I assume you are talking about the contract difficulties with the private shareholder who hird you (and the others). In many posts, you indicate that you were not hired by the company. If this is really true, please don't now imply that someone reprsenting the company kicked you........If the 2 items are unrelated, please explain, or don't mention to begin with--it's too confusing for us old guys.
2. IMHO, some problems were caused by your initial choice of words to us, when you indicated that you would continue to post and have 'fun'. A lot of us (active posters & readers) have been around CVIA since before the reverse split. Quite frankly, I've had about as much 'fun' as I can stand. Now I'm just a little 'touchy' when someone suggests that posting & reading about CVIA are 'fun'. Hopefully this will change in the next few months.
3. I do appreciate you many attempts to explain your position and the difficulties you have been having of late, but I always have questions as to when the dead horse has been beaten enough--------(sorry, this could be applied to both sides).
4. I do find it amusing that you have indicated in the past that if the contract were to fall through, you would not be interested in buying any CVIA, even though you would still be prepared to spread the good word on the company. Perhaps your choice of phrases culd be tempered to avoid problems in the future, unless of course, you only invest in companies you promote (which I doubt). However, to a lot of the folks on RB, and here, those appeared as fighting words..........By the way, I did notice that in one of your later posts, you did indicate that even if the contract fell through, you still might buy some shares of CVIA. If you would have taken this verbal position from the start, I think the response would not have been so loud.
All of course is just my opinion......OK slap away..
Will be staying in Cabot, with side trips to Hot Springs Village....probably both before Xmas and after new Years
Now that I got home from work... I can get on all of a sudden. Glad to hear that things MAY be happening. I won't be gone until next Friday, but will be out for about 2 1/2 weeks. Will try to check in during the time we are in Arkansas. Won't have access (as far as I know) in Alabama. Rich
How bout the pix of you sitting in the 'kings' chair with your feet up???? Rich
Boy, if the ;)'s didn't have anything to do with CVIA....you had me fooled. At least I thought it might mean you were happy that the share price actually is going up while we continue to issue more shares. At least I find that a positive note. Rich
Really don't have a take......I would assume that --- no, make that a guess -- that perhaps CVI discovered how much money was or was not easily available to collect if they were to get a judgment. When they thought the process to collect any substantial amount of $$ was going to be difficult, time consuming AND expensive, they thought some type of a settlement of the entire matter was better.
Sure doesn't seem like we're expecting too much when we wish for some type of a release about the settlement and its effect on the company. I realize that PR's cost $$ (which CVI may not have) but I would think the $50,000? that Wally received would be enough to allow for at least one release every month.
Rich
Just got off RB before looking here. No problem, although they did switch to lycos a few days ago, so the url changed. I got a notice of the change when I logged on (a few days ago) which gave me a connection. Just replaced bookmarks then.
Semi-related question.........what's your take on the CVIA silence. Personally, I don't quarrel with a position that Keith should not be posting general messages on chat lines, but, I have no clue as to why Wally has not been pressed into service on a regular basis. Now we have the law suit dismissal (that apparently is effective) and no public release. I'm just more puzzled than before.
I can understand if the terms of a settlement are not released, but you would think that this would be significant enough for us - given the probable current financials - for some type of release. Just fish'in here. Rich
Well......at least that's some news! Any news is appreciated. Rich.
Just remember, from the reports I have received previously.....
if you're in Hooters---you're accross the street from the office, not in it! vbg. Rich
Rachel, have you tried to make contact with anyone at the office recently? Or---have you driven by just to see if the name is still on the door?
I know these may seem like dumb questions, but I thought I'd like to visit with you... Even if you stopped by, I don't know what you could really ask that anyone could answer, but maybe you could see how they react when you ask if the VP merger/acquisition is still being worked on.
If in fact they are still actively working on this - or anything else significant - I would not expect any response at all. I would even kinda hate to be in the BOD shoes. All the negativity from the shareholders and no way to release any info (good or bad) until completion.
I do trust that things are still actively in process. If the merger? has been called off, I also trust that that news would have been released promptly. Hope I haven't placed too much trust in the word trust........enough ramblings. Rich
Anybody got some vides games we can play while we wait?? I've been reading the RB thread this afternoon, and I'm getting so upset I may go home and beat the cats. That would be about as useless as making any type of a contribution to RB right now. Here's hoping that our continued wait will be peaceful. Rich
Of course, my memory is rotten, but I thought there were 2 opportunities for additional preferreds, based upon the failure of CVIA to meet certain levels of activity ot common market price. As I get time, will try to find this. Rich
Is SI still alive?? I figure since RB is the unnofficial/official chat line, it will happen there first, so I haven't been to SI for several months. Of course, come to think of it, there hasn't really been significant news for several months. If the reason is - that I haven't been checking in on SI, I'M SORRY!!! vbg. Rich
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZ Oh......Hi FM,
I guess we are all sort-of napping until Keith wakes us up.
Gee, I hope Keith's nickname is not Dr. Kervorkian!!!! Rich
I share your concerns about yet another delay (missed deadline). It appears that CVIA may be trying to let out a little information in an effort to hold up the price - the CG PR. However, they should realize that it will take significant news to raise the stock price.........it has to be sooooo significant that a wole bunch of new people want to own some shares. Those of us who are already here will probably not make enough impact, even with very good news.
My guess-theory is still that CVIA has tried to start and finish more things than their cash flow will allow. Some have probably been dumb decisions, but at the time they were made, they might have seemed OK. Hindsight, you know!! Another way to put it was said several years ago by a local Banker......."I never made a bad loan, when I made it".
IMHO, they are now in the situation where we are demanding news before they are ready (or before they can) release it. We should stop this!!!! However, as much as I hate to say it, they are really causing some of our discontent by continually setting timeframes, release dates, etc. that they fail to meet. There are probably very good reasons why they have not met the last 10 working day release date. I certainly hope that now they are completing the terms of the acquisition, merger or whatever. I am also assuming that they are more aware of the importance in completing a 'good' project than even we are. I trust that news will be coming.......I hope it's good news!!!
Oops, son, daughter-in-law & grandaughter just arrived for supper. So, I'm done rambling. Of course, all is IMHO.
I do know at least 2 things.......
1. There are not that many people over here yet, and
2. None of us really knows what is going on in Tulsa at this time.
Given this, I am going to give all here a chance to speculate or guess along with me. I should first say that, for some reason, I still believe that Keith will be able to pull things together and makke CVIA at least a respectable company. Having said that, here's the question:
What is the chance that the quarterly report that was just released is in the same form that is was prior to the 15th?
I am wondering if there had been a conclusion to the VP negotiations if there would not have been additional info quickly included so that the new stuff could have been included.
If this is true, then the nnegotiations with VP could very well be in the final stages, and about finished (assuming they get to an agreement). If anyone follows my question, please feel free to guess along with me. Thanks. Rich
Kind-of a bummer of a day. In reading RB it seems as though the real PR has not yet been issued. Hopefully it will be tomorrow (since I'll be out of town all day). Oh well, if we skyrocket up, by some chance, at least I know I have not had the additional $$$$ to add to my position. That said, however, if we get to $10 by the end of 2002, I'll be ready to PARTY along with the rest. Rich
Wonder what the chance is that Wally will stay up all night - with his computer on - just to give us an early response??
Oh.......that's what I thought.
Guess I'll check in just before work. Rich
IMHO, if there is to be good news about CVIA, it had better be released ASAP.......whether that is on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. It should be obvious that we are not like the average publicly-traded stock. I don't believe the 'normal' rules apply to us.
To me, it is much more important to show the world - and the shareholders - that we can actually get something profitable done and accomplished.
PS: If we wait for the Democrats to stop complaining???????????
???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
???????Well, IMHO, we can't afford to wait that long.
Rich
You too??????? Mine are gathering dust in the closet at the brokers. Maybe we could donate our Baat shares to the Social Security Lock Box?? vbg. Rich
Oops.....just read your answer. Sorry they have nothing to do with CVIA, but it appears that the BOD has enough on its plate at this time. Rich
Tul.......we know about the UT project. "We may know about the CA & AZ projects, but since I'm as old as dirt, can you jog my memory about those projects????? Rich
I have this site bookmarked, but with the availability of time, by the time I read RB (for this & a couple other stocks), I just don't have the time to keep checking over here. Maybe after all this merger stuff is over, and if the results are as we hope, this will be the board to visit daily.
Several months ago I joined a private board for ADGI as the regular RB board had become a real mess. I haven't been back to the public board since. Believe me, however, that public board was far, far, far, far worse that the CVIA board is at this time. Rich
As I recall, when the CG presentation was being made at the meeting, at the top of the CG first screen was the Yahoo logo (among other items). That in and of itself raised a few eyebrows. Rich
Tried to register here, and I had to go back a couple of timed to insert a new user name. Then I just played like I had already registered before....and, to my surprise----I had. So much for my memory.
Will keep checking in every now & then, although RB was not nearly as out of control as other boards. Rich
