A Qtrax docudrama sounds AWESOME!
If you think we could do it without getting sued by the Enron movie producers how 'bout "The Dumbest Guys In The Room"???
I demand a cameo.
Have you seen average volume in the last couple of weeks? I really don't think you could have exploited that PPS flux to that much extent.
Nice try, but I wouldn't start counting your money yet.
What you are likely running is in reality 0.7, not 1.7.712. This has been discussed in here before..
If you have downloaded the so called software you will see that the so called version 1.7.712 is in reality version 0.7. (Fraud)
See post 22769 for more detail on this.
You, sir, have credibility and I believe you, and will take this to be a bona fide email from Qtrax.
It smells carroty to me, what do you think?
Two plus months to respond to your initial "application" with said response being an offer to beta the software somemtime in the future (unless I'm missing something)... Yes, very carroty.
Well, let us know what happens with this.
Maybe there's one more pump & dump in store for us!
Eagle-
Please commence further investigation with your "OZ client" regarding this purported email and activation code.
It just doesn't make any sense AT ALL.
See, the Australian rollout website requested email addresses for all who wanted an activation code, and that said code would be forthcoming.
There has never been any indication of "applying" for a code, as of course there is absolutely ZERO need for such a thing- the ball should be in BLLN's court as they already have the email address for those interested. The "application" was the submission of an email address to Qtrax via their "music ingestion" webpage.
Forgive me for the skepticism, but I find this story both outlandish and illogical.
Perhaps your "Oz client" is lying to you? That does tend to happen a LOT with respect to BLLN, Eagle. In any case, one would have to be an absolute fool (or mark) to take this story without applying requisite due diligence.
Do this group a favor if you could, Eagle. Ask "Oz client" for a copy, with attached headers, of this purported email. You may remove any information that is specific to your client's identity and IP address, and then please post it here for us to analyze and determine authenticity. I am sure one as committed to the truth as you are Eagle will have no problem spending the minute or two this operation will entail. The board will thank you for it. The board is VERY weary of talk about rollouts, launches, partnerships, and such WITHOUT substantiation or backup.
I'd like to thank you in advance for your participation in this exercise in due diligence, Eagle.
Looks to me like a typical day.
Last second spike on microvolume to 0.018 from 0.017, as usual.
Less than $10,000 in total volume.
Pretty weak.
If I misunderstood where you were coming from, I apologize for being rude. There has been such rampant idiocy in here lately, I may have judged your question too harshly.
I don't have the time to wade into AAPL analytics right now. I think they've made a decent chunk of change from the over 1 billion songs sold to date, though, but that data may be hard to find. Contribution margin per iPod/iPhone or whatever is also tricky to put together but if you have time and desire you can figure this stuff out.
Lucky, you are as angry as you are patently wrong.
"But since it opened for business in April 2003, the iTunes Store has become America's No. 1 music vendor, generating revenues of $520 million in the last quarter alone (qtr ending 12/31/09), according to Piper Jaffray's Gene Munster"
OVER ONE HALF BILLION IN REVENUE IN A QUARTER, Lucky!
Apology accepted, now please go take a chill pill.
And please, next time, get your game on before calling me out.
So, I guess this once and for all proves what Chewy and I have been patiently trying to teach you: WE DON'T MOVE THE MARKET IN THIS FORUM.
Geesh.
Now someone, please tell Qurious...
Hey Minsk- No problem using my words, man, I stand by them. It's always easier when one's being truthful...Anyway, let's see what you got here
Chewy, you bring up a fascinating concept.
All these folks who speak glowingly about "Allan" and his tireless efforts, energies, dream, etc... Well, what did they expect?
OF COURSE a scammer is going to be charismatic.. Charming.. Confidence-building.. OTHERWISE, the mark isn't going to go for it.
What did they think a snake oil salesman would look like- some tweaker with a sunken meth face and tracks up and down his arms?
Hi again, Minsk-
Relevant facts are these- Allan has pissed away $50 million of other's money and we've got nothing to show for it. Allan has made no small number of PUBLIC promises that turned out to be false. Labels are hardly the cause of MIDEM's embarrassment, no- AK and his rented celebrities win out here.
Common sense aspects are there- Allan has showed the "concept" to a great number of investors. There is no real interest in the model, or else we'd have something going on.
Apple re-imagined the music distribution scene and now grosses around a billion or so annually on music and related sales. Don't you think that if AK's idea had any real promise, he would have found smart, cash rich investors willing to pony up and become the "next big thing". Well, in 8 years of trying he hasn't.
And you know, if I was entrusted with millions of dollars of other's cash, I'd be inclined to put in long hours as well. Every successful person I know puts in long hours. Save us the song about AK's toils. It's ridiculous.
It boils down to this- past production is the best indicator of future performance. AK has proven only that he is no slave to the truth and he can lose cash and rack up debt. And then run to other pastures....
Hey Brooklyn-
Give me a SINGLE piece of fact-based evidence that suggests the game is still ON!
Hi Minsk, and welcome back to the board. I'll be glad to respond to your comments:
In English, what WR was saying is that he and a colleague developed the framework for digital licensing which Allan Klepfisz glommed onto as he didn't possess either the energy, motivation, intellectual depth, or credibility to do the same.
In English, he is also saying that, unlike BLLN, Mashboxx was not sued by essentially every business partner AND investment group they were associated with. As we know, Oracle is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of plaintiffs suing Allan and BLLN.
And in English, what Wayne is doing in here is hardly ranting. He generally answers questions in a polite fashion. Regardless of how rude, childish, and disrespectful the posters have treated him in the past.
No, the ranting is from those who believe that being a pink sheet security or a "speculative" stock somehow provides BLLN the opportunity to lie and promise undeliverables at their leisure, and that when posters who WITHOUT ANY BASIS IN FACT OR SOURCING predict something "good around the corner", they should do so without impunity. In other words, they shouldn't be confronted with the facts of exactly what happened the LAST time they promised such things.
Let me ask you a question, Minsk. Do you have any analytical data to support your position that this is the "worst funding season ever"? Do you realize that Allan has been floundering to deliver for 3+ years now?
Lauches underway?
Because their web page says so??
And you believe this???
Oh my...
Defuser-
I wanted to put it "out there" to gauge the responses from the board. Obviously (hi Eagle!) there are insiders with hidden agendas in here, and fleshing out their commentary would be at least amusing.
I also hoped Wayne would respond as well. Based on my due diligence, professional skepticism, and instinct, I find his commentary extensively useful and unimpeachable and his industry experience is an asset to this discussion. One can't "google" for this type of information, as I am sure you know.
So, in refute of your premise, I offer I DID ask someone with industry experience.
It is up to each reader to decide whom they wish to believe.
OK, here's a question about the business model-
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, it was my understanding the Qtrax was going to mine music from the Gnutella P2P network, crossreference that music with what they had licenses for, and offer those to users accordingly, of course wrapped in DRM.
Can anyone say with certainty whether this is still the case?
I'd appreciate anything definitive, even from those who claim access to the business model. This question is pretty elemental, I would say.
First of all Benny, the Oracle lawsuit arose because BLLN did NOT pay them. Try to keep up.
Weak pump on the "good things may be coming" followed by the utter failure to deliver anything backing it up, by the way. Couldn't you invent at least something quasi plausible to get Qurious worked up? Hey, I'll help out! "From what I'm hearing money is already there, the creditors are as good as being paid, and AK and his crack team of coders are polishing off v3.0 and are poised for a huge Bangladesh launch"
Qurious, I have told you this a million times. Let's try one more time.
I had a large stake. I've sold most if it. At the worst of losses.
I still have a number of shares that takes six digits to measure (left of the decimel). Enough to move the market on this pathetic pig, I freaking promise you. If you don't believe me, then MAN up and put some money in the cup and I'll prove it.. $5,000 should be enough to keep this interesting. You pick the middleman.
I'm holding these because the paltry sum I'd get for selling is insignificant to me. Plus, it gives me the moral authority to continue to speak in here and to demonstrate to you that owning shares is no reason to believe in fairy tales.
"Paid bashers"... God, man, you just refuse to wake up, don't you?
You really should reconsider your motives for investing. Without rationale and a sense of skeptical objectivity you will continue losing your shirt. BLLN will be just the beginning.
You got some kind of whacky dollar-cost averaging going on, Defuser?
Wikipedia, eh?
Too bad there's no citation or footnote.
Nice try, AK!
Interesting post, Quispy, and one pertaining to by FAR the most important development in terms of the Internet and broadband carriers so far... like ever, pretty much...
I respectfully disagree as to the results of this crappy decision. I don't think that less preferred destinations will actually have to pay for their bandwidth, but I do agree access to those places (in other words, the Usenet, BitTorrents, the mystical Qtrax public domain of quasi-licensed music playable on iPods via Allan's super secret sauce, etc) will be impaired as ISP's throttle down throughput to non-preferred destinations. Yes, the Amazons of the world will continue to rock. Others may slow at the pleasure of those who own the cable.
BUT, my hope is this- I think Comcast prevailed because it was established the FCC doesn't have the authority to dictate to Comcast what they can or can not throttle on infrastructure they own. BUT, this is a function of law, not theory. In other words, regulations must be established authorizing the FCC jurisdiction over these channels. The groundwork is there, but as of now, Comcast is correct in their position such rules have yet to be codified. I'm hoping and praying that we get this together and ISP neutral Internet is the way of the future.
Amusing angle wrt QTRAX, I have to say. And I am in full agreement about this pig heading to zero like a bat out of hell on a one-way ticket ride, irrespective of any bandwidth restrictions, or really, anything else than their own incompetence!
(Mr. B. Wayne Rosso, no offense intended wrt the bat comment...)
I've got plenty of time, so no worries there.
Investing is no place for hope. Hope floats, that's just about it. For every buy there is a sell. Zero sum game, as they said in Wall Street. 90+% of OTC stocks are a scam to begin with, and folks like Birdy, KMech, and Allan Klepfisz are the reasons why. As long as fiendish pumpers are spinning crap in here, hurting folks like you, Shot, Darth, and the rest, me and the caped crusader will tirelessly push back the BS. I'd expect the same courtesy from you if I was being taken advantage of...
I know this "tough love" isn't always appreciated, but over time you'll understand.
Maybe I am an altruistic troll.
Now in return, I ask for a serious, logical answer to this question:
What possible basis in reality do you have for the hope of possible success of Qtrax?
ps- remember, I said "reality"...
Ummmm, Qurious my man, the Kafka report you're linking IS the pre MIDEM report. You know, the one a day or so before the MIDEM disaster?
Your second link brings us back to one of the most ridiculous fiascos in iHub history. I can't read that article & comments without coughing up coffee!
I paused for a second to reflect on how and why I got involved in this mess, as well as when. I stumbled upon this ancient link in my due diligence folder.
http://www.businessinsider.com/2007/8/free-music-serv
If I'm not mistaken, Kafka has been negative on Qtrax since inception. Any insight as to why he was ahead of the curve?
Behold, another pumper revealed!
Thank you Batman, for that rather public flogging of yet another poster who feels compelled to spew lies in here for the eager ones to gobble up. You do us a great service by exposing lies and injustice. Together we will make Gotham City safer for everyone!
-Chief Gordon
Sure Brooky, tell ya' what-
I'll wager the cash equivalent of 100 shares of BLLN, measured as of next Friday, since there's bound to be HUGE news coming around the corner!
You'll be a millionaire, dude!!!
Eagerly await that, pal!
Brooky, I'd bet big money you're younger than 25, and wouldn't be surprised if you've not even attained 18.
And until you can do better than:
How do you know this, KMech?
Did you personally review each and every label contract?
Or, did someone tell you?
1000% is a big number.
Brooklyn, I'll reply by offering the same inquiry that Qurious didn't answer:
How old are you?
Simply because, Brooklyn, Chewie has too much integrity than to screw over friends/more investors on what has obviously become a farce.
Chewy, good point refuting the illogic of KMechs "the contract starts when it does" foolishness. Would rather violate the rule against perpetuities, woudn't it (e.g. "we promise you license if and when you ever operate in the future) and thus be an unenforceable contract? Yeah, right, sure it says that, KMech. Tell Birdy "Hi" from all of us!
Oh hell yes I am.
Way smaller position than the one I already took a bath on, but yeah, I'm a stockholder nonetheless.
And I obviously knew whom you were addressing.
You see Qurious, getting personal with the "bashers" and posting your pictures just doesn't advance your cause. Why you refuse to see your hands in front of your face I just don't understand, but because I don't think you're in league with Birdy and the rest of the scammers I'm going to be here for you. Sooner or later I pray intellect will reign over stubbornness in your case, and light will dawn as to whom you should really blame for this disaster. At which point we'll share a drink and laugh about this tragedy. Or not. But at least you'll see the next one coming.
Wake up and use your brain, Qurious.
I'm not short. I'm not profiting by this crap.
If you're going to bitch, focus your energy on the lying pumpers, not the folks who are trying to help you from being taken as a fool.
Seriously.
Amen, brother!
And for goodness sakes, if you should hear a poster in here talking about what he has "heard"- RUN FOR THE HILLS and SELL SELL SELL, because it is nothing but a contrived lie.
I hope in the next go around innocent ones like Qurious learn that DD means more than only listening to the snake oil salesmen...
