I don't have much to lose either...but perhaps Spooz can change that.
Right, they will do a redirect (switch-a-roo) on you and then you will find yourself on a page hosted in Africa which looks exactly like your bank web page. Then when you try to log in and access your back account on this fake site...you are really giving people access to your online bank account where they will be transferring your money out of your account and to theirs.
Be especially careful of banking and credit card emails...and remember one of the most insecure things about the internet is the human being at the keyboard. :-P
Not really because no one does anything nefarious from their own internet connection but usually from innocent people's computers that have been comprimised.
Here would be a common flow on how this stuff happens -
1. You get an "phishing" email that fools you into thinking it is legitimate and you click on a link or provide information back to the attacker. Or you go to a website and click on a link that installs something on your computer.
2. Now either your computer has been infected with a trojan/mass mailer worm/malware or you have given the attacker information that compromises one of your email accounts.
3. The malicious software causes mass emails to be sent from your email account or from your computer...or the malicious software perhaps crawls internet forums to post inappropriate ads.
Now you see once the attacker starts this process via an anonymous email address such as hotmail and they never have to do anything from their own internet connection again...and even then they would probably be doing anything like this from an internet cafe as well while using a spoofed MAC address (network identifier).
Anyway...everyone should be careful about emails especially. When you get an email with a link in it, you should look to see where it goes first before clicking on it. I good way to judge this is hovering the cursor over the link and it should show you where you are going on the bottom left of the browser window...if the web link is pointed to something other than what it says or is a bunch of numbers instead of a domain name, you probably shouldn't click on it.
Nice find. Thanks.
Totally incorrect...odds are the person who did it has nothing to do with Spooz and has no idea what the company is. There are automated applications that crawl website and forums...when lack of security is found then it gets exploited.
Agreed and someone competent should be in place to set things up correctly in the first place in order for things like this not to happen. The IT stuff should be proactive instead of reactive...but hey that is just me talking from experience working in the IT realm my entire career.
That is sad...anything 13 year old can keep their forum spam free. I am long into Spooz but some of their IT shortcomings bother me.
The website is not very good, the forum is a free phpBB and any basic google search can yield many steps on how to keep their forum free from spam...most notably from the website that provides free phpBB.
All they probably have to do is read this post - http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=393503
Also, when all is said and done...even a part time moderator can keep an eye on the board and delete spam posts. This is showing that they are not minding the forums much.
Stuff like this reminds of back when we were at .012 and a lot of this was going on for flipping sake off of pseudo news.
I don't know...it kinda makes sense with the recent activities. Large amounts of shares dumped and PR regarding the audit and uplisting the stock. I could see them doing an RS around the same time as the uplisting so the stock looks more appealing on the main board.
It was never released...there is a bit of contraversy there that some other people can elaborate on. The last 30 days have resulted in the first product launch for Spooz but hey they released 3 products so maybe they are making up for lost time. Spoozchartz, SpoozToolz V2. Pro and Algo Server are now out in the world.
I won't be singing until we get back to .012 again...then I will be happy as I picked up 200K more at .0028 early this week.
We are going the right direction now...but I am not going to get too happy because I am keeping in mind that we have been much higher in the past and we are not breaking new ground yet.
I appreciate your posts...and other people's posts too. They bring balance to the discussion and many times through debate...better researched information is discovered.
True IW, Excel may not be needed on the client workstations itself but since that is Sharepoint Technology it would require Microsoft Sharepoint Services or Portal Server to bve installed. Perhaps brokerages would be using Sharepoint technologies but obviously the home user would not.
Also, technically...I would wonder if one were to be able to use excel services via Sharepoint if the actual processing would be done from the server hosting the web site or the client PC. I would imagine there is probably a client plug-in which would offload the processing for excel to the client PC.
For those who do not know. Sharepoint is made by Microsoft and is a all-in-one intranet solution. So instead of having mapped drives and opening an excel document from a folder, you would be opening the excel document from the website. You can make many sub-sites within Sharepoint for team or departmental sites.
Nice post IW, very interesting to see how this may tie in.
I agree with IW...I have no idea what he is talking about regarding the trading stuff but I work in IT and everything comes with pdf manuals...everything. I end up having to download a couple a week for reference and printing them is not an option because of the waste of paper.
Sadly though I would rather read off of paper because reading from and computer screen sucks after a while.
Thanks, Martingale...I am happy to hear that mindset hopefully start to come through. Promising little and delivering a lot is a very wise way to go.
Jeg ville alltid si...long Lever Spooz i Norweigen !
I think this is the most current, but I might be wrong -
CHICAGO -- Spooz, Inc. (OTCBB:SPZI) announced today a change in the registered transfer agent for the company. As of February 1, 2007, the transfer agent became Olde Monmouth Stock Transfer, 200 Memorial Parkway, Atlantic Highlands, NJ 07716. The Olde Monmouth phone number is (732) 872-2727.
When trying to find this...I found this from 2006 -
http://www.spooz.com/pdf/SPZIreport_080406.pdf
Paul looks hammered in that picture. LOL
The news sounds good...has anyone translated it into lay terms for not pro-investors? It sounds like it can "push" out configured templates and search for best prices across multiple markets...is that right?
I makes no sense to use a different domain name unless is not intended for production (public).
Interestingly if you just go to www.spooz.net it is merely under construction but http://www.spooz.net/SPOOZTOOLZ%20PRO.htm works.
Thanks for the link...did you find it on the main site or did someone send it to you? I am doubting a lucky guess because the "%20" in the URL = a space.
No, because he said "I expect xyz to happen..." rather than stating that it will happen. :-P
Go for it...we are right behind you. *shifty eyes* haha
Wow..the PPS is really taking care of itself now.
Yep...very disturbing that three great sounding PRs come out but then they kill the PPS at the same time by diluting.
People are taking any concerned information about Spooz personally...that has been the problem for quite some time. People need to respect people's opinions/views and then respectfully voice their own without calling people names (Fud/Fudsters/etc).
There are some disturbing things going on but at the same time there have been some good developments. Either way
Nope. Many people signed up a long time ago...they will probably send an email regarding this toward the middle of the year when the retail release occurs...maybe.
I knew someone would say that...and perhaps you are right.
Personally I would like to have another PR stating what they are doing...not the former PR stating what they are going to do. Otherwise there will be debate over whether the launch actually occurred.
Spooz, Inc. To Undergo Audit by Kramer Weisman & Associates, LLP
Tuesday January 29, 8:00 am ET
CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Spooz, Inc. (OTC: SPZI - News), announced today it has engaged Kramer Weisman and Associates, LLP, a Public Company Accounting Oversight Board approved auditor, to begin an audit of the Company’s books. The audit is due to commence immediately and is targeted for completion on or around March 7, 2008.

“We began planning for this audit and have prepared well since meeting with Kramer Weisman in New York in November,” stated Paul Strickland, the Spooz CEO. “This is the essential first step toward achieving reporting status with the SEC, and moving our stock to the Bulletin board.”
Yup, I think they are going to have to prove some operational competency before the price goes up...hopefully we won't have to wait until an earnings report or something similiar.
I don't give a rat's a$$ about PPS right now. I am happy that some progress has been made and products are being released. If the company can show they have subscriptions and are doing business the PPS might go up.
Sadly, it might take a semi-profitable quarter for the PPS to actually go up because of the credibility issue of the company.
That said I am fairly optimistic currently.
True...plus the PPS was so low that selling today would be pointless for me at best anyway.
I look forward to hearing your experience with the product. Please keep us posted.
I wanna grow up to be an MM!!!
*laughing*
Nope, but I guess it depends on you definition. Spooz stated that Stv2 would be released on Jan. '08....not a pseudo release/beta test for only professional traders.
But again that was part of my prediction...that people "in the know" were preparing us for this as most people thought Jan. '08 was going to be the retail release.
I predicted this a few weeks ago when people "in the know" started preparing us for the release of Spoozcharts and no release of Stv2...
"...it seems that some people might know something that most don't. As it seems like there is a concerted effort to prepare investors for STv2 not being released and instead having Spooz Charters or something similiar instead. I have no factual basis for this...it is just a feeling I get from several different people posting verbiage like "I wonder what is going to be launched", "The PR this month might not be what is expected" and "Spooz Charts is a stand-alone product...".

My how the tone has changed on this forum...no one is picking on anyone for being "negative" today.
Conversely...why would you want to constantly say only positive things about your stock until you lose all credability? Eventually it becomes an inverse version of the "boy who cried wolf" story.
This is why the stock price is stagnant despite the reported release date (as announced at Value Rich) approaching. If more people really believed that a release was going to happen by the end of this month, the price would be at least where it was last year (.012 range) when everyone's hopes were up.
I think a lot of people are waiting to hear about the release first before buying or buying more.
Agreed...I would appreciate a PR even stating a delay to let me know they are alive.
It is a bit frustrating to go from expecting one thing and then watching the expectations deteriorate.
We went from...
1. STv2 being released in Jan. 08 announced at the expo...
to
2. This is not a retail release and is just going to be for professionals and brokerages.
to
3. This is really more of testing than a release and some people might not be paying for the software.
to
4. They might not PR the release in Jan. '08 but the release might still be happening even if we don't know it.
to
5. They are trying to be stealthy so other trading software companies don't know what they are doing so they are probably going to be secretive about what they are doing.
to
6. What about Spoozchartz? :-P
Maybe I am misguided in my expectations, but it is really interesting to see the positive expectations get chipped away and to end up so far from where it started.
I know there are still some days left...but I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous about the "launch date" going by without hearing anything.
lol Good question...I hope they don't just send an email to someone on ihub as a notification of a launch. It is time for the company to get some visibility.
One comforting thing is that I bought most of mine at .0029 or .004 but it is always hard to see it go up to .014 or more recently .009 only to see it come back down.
Nice interview...of Paul saying they would be releasing STv2 soon. Am I reading correctly that the interview is from 2/9/2007? :-0
But it is nice to hear the management team mentioned again. The track record of many of the main players is one main reason I invested into this stock. While there may be other things to gripe about...at least we don't have to worry about Spooz being a scam with the reputation of solid people on the line. I remember the guy from Microsoft getting hired was a pretty excited time.
