yak yak yak yak yak
i love the science, too......, BUT SHOW ME THE MONEY ALREADY
Let's hope Tustin will kill a couple of birds with few stones at the same time within the next couple of weeks.
How about releasing either legitimate, stunning test results that can move the stock 20-30-40% or more on merit OR a bona-fide big pharma deal that spells out money stream so the 'Going Concern" clause can disappear from the next filing WITH a reverse split that puts the $1 threshold to bed for good?
That's what we need here....mainstream acknowledgement that the science works in real people, and is 'investible' for Wall Street institutions.
this is SO transparently being played with...
CAN THEY JUST GET ON WITH WHATEVER THEY'RE DOING ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS DRIVING ME INSANE!!!!!!!!!
some of you folks need to keep your powder dry. it's unbelieveable that some of you are so sure that there's nothing to the Duke rumors when you have absolutely nothing concrete to base it on.
there's more and more anecdotal evidence day by day that there is something significant about the science. i'm more concerned about the protection of the ownership rights to the technology rather than questioning whether anything will come of it, since more and more forward thinkers seem to be getting on board.
and the price is holding steady on nice volume while no news is out there....it's pretty obvious that some strong hands are on to this situation...it's bigger than us board-posters... anybody who's here for big profits selling large chunks now is nuts.
several of us have fairly significant share balances and are currently long...so...since we're sitting around hopeful and a little bit optimistic about a shocking impending move for the first time in 10 years, lets speculate a bit about where we can actually go, realistically, in the near term, considering that we can't be worth billions without FDA approval or pentagon rah rah.
call it time-killing.
so we have a market cap today of about $200,000,000....
if/when any of several possible significant news releases come out over the next 2-3-4 months, what can we be valued at in the absence of revenue-producing breakthrough drugs within the next 3 years?
$500,000,000?
$1,000,000,000?
$2,000,000,000?
a few bucks a share to $8 per share? with no revenue? it will be like a dot.com....
what is realistic? let's have some opinions based on something other than rose-colored glasses while we wait.
jess, impeccable, realist, cj, ....i'd love a cross section of responses that respond to one of the scenarios that doesn't assume it's all BS...
who can lay out a scenario of uside that wall street can tolerate? anybody?
for every item you can add to the list of upcoming positive events, i can come up 10 from prior lists over the last 10 years.
i have a novel idea...how about Tustin turns one of those items into a billion dollars of market cap some day soon?
then, not only will I put some faith in the upcoming news items, but so will the investors and pharmas pphm will need to keep it moving. if we don't get a big bang, soon, you can be sure we'll work our way back down so the only way to profit from this is to play the rollercoaster... that's not investing, it's gambling.
If this is the holy grail, WHY IS IT STRUGGLING TO STAY ABOVE $.80??????????????????????????????????
i'm having trouble understanding why the 'answer' to cancer and viruses isn't being revealed to the world if all of the greatest medical minds in research are so sold on it...
close enough.
nice call, goat
i'm not worried about delisting...there are a number of things that could get pphm over a buck in plenty of time, and i suspect tustin has a few things to pick from all lined up depending on how things go between now and d-day.
i don't think there's any doubt that there were plenty of between-the-lines nuggets in the conference call which, when taken in context with phase II progress, make it logical that they'll be able to get us there without working up much sweat.
as for an r/s, i'm now at the 'so what' stage. if they do it and the stock tanks 20-30%, it will be very temporary if the technology is truly on the trajectory we're here for. and it wouldn't kill us to be up around $6 or $7 anyhow so some more institutions/analysts could play without the sub-$5 restrictions.
who's here for 20-30% upside? not me. i'm here for 100-300-500%-or more or more upside from where we are now with 2 years, as i think most folks who view this board are, too...there's no need to worry about $.30 to .50 moves in either direction right now, and there will be no need to worry about a $2-3 downward move if we r/s....it will be nothing short of a buying opportunity because this thing will be worth a lot more than $125 million...
relax...chances are improving that 'it's all good'.
jess... you have had an epiphany lately, methinks...
i sent this tonite, in hopes that we can help...
TO: jlai@peregrineinc.com
SUBJECT: People need help..
"i have been told that peregrine isn't taking patients in anti-cancer trials/treatment domestically. preliminary trial results are obviously encouraging, yet the drug is unavailable while people can't hang on.
there are several of us large shareholders who are believers in the science. how are we supposed to assist needy people in having the opportunity for peregrine's drugs to possibly provide life-saving therapy?
i, and others, need and deserve a response that does not include politically correct non-committal drivel. how can cancer-stricken candidates get treatment where bavi may be available in the US?"
i wish our new poster's family Godspeed.
is it possible that this patent sets up the most immediate opportunity for commercialization as a diagnostic property rather than a medication? fewer obstacles and less to prove, maybe, for an upgrade over current scan tools? maybe the pps spike makes sense...
somebody posting here or just checking in must have wall street trading experience.
how about giving us the real deal on what it means that this is so unbelievably supported at $.80.
what does it say about manipulation, market makers, deal covenants vs. avg closing costs, etc. this has to make some sense, because it's defying logic.
sure would be nice to get to the point in time where this speculation would be unnecessary.
close a deal and announce it already!
but then what would we do all day?
lafont..
just wondering...because we could use a few pros on the board...what are your professional qualifications that lead you to be so certain that the settlement is a non-event?
i, too, have tens of thousands...and i am self-critical every day about whether or not i'm looking at this investment through rose-colored glasses..
as others have said..it seems different this time.
i suspect that your recent purchase will prove to have been wise.
lafont... your bias is blinding you to the positives of numerous developments over the past year or so. i suspect that it is ore likely that the not too distant future with prove me and others more correct that you and your ilk soon...we shall see
this is a no-brainer positive for pphm.
worldwide rights ex china, ownership of technology acknowledged, congruent with Cotara platform, peer-verifed ad nauseum...anyone who thinks it's irrelevant is bias-drunk.
litigation is finished, the slate is clean...licensing awaits.
whatever is going on, i just want at least five bucks a share when the dust settles...and the sooner the better so i can stop watching this thing all day
splat
as long as that future funding remains unsettled, a market cap of $185 million for PPHM, while seemingly unreasonable given the pipeline and results reported over the past couple of years, may be valid in the eyes of big time investors needed to blast off.
some kind of licensing/partnering (REVENUE STREAM!) deal big enough to get rid of the going concern clause is needed...i suspect that's why Peregrine can't sustain a big move yet.
please PLEASE announce a legit deal!
inside information works both ways...
if i knew no news was coming today after yesterday's, i would have been taking profits and buying back in lower, too, since a downward move was pretty predictable in the absence of more news. Unfortunately, i don't have that info, so i felt i needed to sit on my shares so i wouldn't miss what i think is likely to be another healthy move up with news many think is coming.
it's just a matter of when, i believe, and i don't think we're talking more than a few months..in the meantime, pros will probably continue to go in and out while we sweat, and, no doubt, they'll all be in when it moves...
we may be hearing a lot from realist and jess soon...
why the premarket backpedal? more trickery?
for cryin' out loud, jess. you have been one of the top few skeptics for so long...don't be surprised when you take it on the chin during up days.
most of us understand that there has been plenty of room for doubt for what has seemed like too long....
you would be cut considerably more slack if you made it clear that you can acknowledge the upside potential despite the uphill struggle in the markets... the risk doesn't need to be trumpeted..
we all know the risk...that's a big part of why many of us are here....
it's exciting here. sick people may get more time with their loved ones because of what's going on here...and some of us might be able to keep our retirement plans at the same time
i wouldn't get too carried away with the poison pill being too cheap....we still need quite a few striking successes to be worth 2 1/2 billion..
at the same time, it's entirely possible that this could be worth half of that by the time current phase IIs are done...
wxcbs...i don't think liftoff will have much to do with today's presentation unless there's a sale or partnering deal in the offing for cotara soon.. Liftoff is more likely to be associated with growing recognition that Thorpe's work is becoming more likely to have commercial value on a number of fronts while the likelihood of significant further dilution seems to be diminishing the longer the trials progress with consistent results without setbacks.
the stuff appears to be gaining legitimacy, and while there may be a lot of money to be made getting in and out of this stock while it's fluctuating here above where it's been for so long, it may not be wise to be out of pphm for significant periods in the near future. it would be awful to miss a run to a few dollars or more after all this time...
we get 12 whole minutes on the program...
we may, in fact, be close to liftoff, but, while we wait, it's Chinese water torture...
moderator...you're getting carried away with your deletions. while my deleted post touched on politics, it was absolutely relevant. nothing here is worth anything without context.
making believe limbaughs and pelosis don't exist and affect stocks is fantasy.
why all the tiny trades with so little movement? somebody please explain
this stock is potentially instant retirement. over the past 18 months, it would have been idiotic to not take a flyer with a small amount of money you'd be willing to lose all of. it remains a potential 20-bagger at today's price within a year. the down side is minimal vs. the potential return.
isn't that why we're here after everything that's gone on????????? if the science wasn't so intriguing, we'd have been all been gone long ago.
if anybody has enough time to be here, i hope they all have some cash on the table or what's the point?
no drug that's roughly as effective as Avastin will replace it.
what a swing-and-a-miss. just awful.
jess..
you've been sooo negative for soooo long...
and now you have begun to speak more...positively
let's all hope that the shift has been earned by the science
May the Gods of medicine and profits be with us all....
thank God it looks like they finally want to start walkin the dawg
lovely after hours of $.30...who can shed light?
looks like news monday
no, i don't, goat, but appearances count, too. R&R wants to look smart when this is over.
let's not lose sight of the fact that public pronoucements by investment banks for upgrades and downgrades are typically PR'd after the news since the SEC put the rules out that slowed down the sharing of insider knowledge with analysts.
i'd rather have neutral coverage now than continuing no coverage. R&R is here to make money too, and not just the fee they got for doing the deal...you can bet the farm that they'll move the pps eventually so they can make a buck, even if it's just to get out before a crash if that's what's coming.
if we crash before they upgrade, they don't get tarnished. if we jump before an upgrade, they're still 'visionaries' in the market and get credit for it just as they would if they upgrade it first. they'll want credit for 'discovering' pphm.
dna flat on a horrible day, pphm down 6%.
so much for cotara being more effective and safer...not in the investment community, it ain't
