Did you see my FFIV setup?
Sold Jan 2013 5 80 put When stock hit 106 level
Sold Jan 2013 7 90 puts
FFIV Jan 13 put 2013 90.00 20-Jan-11 19-Jan-13 15.8988 notional 700 11,129.14

I was thinking about doing a buy/write at the 106 level by buying the stock and selling Jan 2012 calls at 115 or 120 but I went with the naked puts instead.
From the article you posted.
Strategy Overview
Some investors will use LEAPS to diversify their portfolios without actually buying shares of a particular security or exposing themselves to a particular market segment (or the market as a whole, for that matter). Basically, LEAPS can allow an investor to watch the market over an extended period of time and create hedged or speculative positions without actually engaging with the market until the options are exercised.
Potential Benefits
Investors with a long-term outlook enjoy the extended time and flexibility of LEAPS..
No, condor, short sell the strike at 80 with puts and buy the 75 put (Bull spread puts) and short the 120 call buy the 125.00 call(Bear spread calls). If it stays within the short strikes (80-120)the credit spread I created never has to be closed. Did it with GOOG several times with some very wide ranges. Figure I can perhaps create a 1500 to 1700 credit spread between the two spreads with max loss of 5000. But I never lose because I can always adjust the leg of the spread by going out and down if the stock goes below 75 or out in time and up in strike if the stock goes above 125.00.
It's a non-directional strategy perfect for volatile stocks that become range bound.
A condor involves four options and results in a credit spread and a butterfly spread involves 3 options and is usually net debit.

Buy 1 In The Money Call
Sell 2 At The Money Calls
Buy 1 Out of The Money Call
911, nice move here.
Looking to do an iron condor. Just need to find a good spread. 80 to 120 sounds like it will hold through Aug expiration.
ThePennyGuru, seriously? I can’t believe you asked me that question. An option, as the name implies is simply the option to either buy or sell a particular equity at a specified price. It is not, and I repeat, not an obligation to buy or sell. Delivery may never have to occur and therefore does not have to represent the number of available underlying shares, ever. Should I go on?
I guess I should. Were you also not aware that fully 80% of all quoted options expire worthless, unexercised or otherwise remaining unpriced throughout the life of the option? And if I may go even further, options are a derivative instrument that “derive” their value from the underlying asset and can trade wholly independently from the stock save for a well understood price relationship (Black Scholes, Binomial Pricing Model, Closed-Form GARCH Option Pricing Model ) called the premium and the “Greeks” that govern the relationship between the price of the option and the underlying never requiring either option counterparty to take delivery of the associated shares, a point I have now made twice. If you can somehow process that notion, you may realize that you probably should not have asked that question.
By way of example.
Let's say I want to buy to open the Aug 22 call which as of today is trading for a nickle. As long as I am offering at least the ask on by offer to buy and I have the money, I can buy 1000 option representing 100,000 shares and it might cost me all of about $5000.00. That trade, since it is an opening trade will show up as 1000 contracts open interest. Do I have to take delivery of those shares. No! I can sell the option to some other poor chap who may no know better, highly unlikely, or, in all probability, if ZAGG remains right where it is through expiration, the position expires worthless, no shares ever required. See how that works?
Fourkid, you are obviously not experienced in how one breaks a hedged trade where a call option is used as upside protection to protect a short position. Go read up on it and I'll explain in plain English how it works and how your Max loss is only the cost of the option which one typically sets at a small percentage not unlike a stop loss or OCO bracketed trade.
And I am a trader. Many moons ago at Dreyfus at the bond desk.
PennyGuru what are talking about??????? Oh my god!!! What did you do, pull an options chain from the web????? How long have you been trading???
Because ZAGG options are multiply listed and most web quotes and online brokers only list one exchange, you would need a real platform like say Firetip or any other direct access platform to see the open interest across all exchange for all forward month contracts. Heres the total...Drum roll please...
469,512 notional 46,951,200, yes that's right, 49 million!!!!
Here's what I pulled up using my Firetip Flatform using this search term...

13,852,500 shares notional
There 138,525 call open interest representing a notional position of 13 million shares. More than enough to cover the 11 or so million shares short. Typical of any professional or seasoned retail trader to purchase a call at least equal to the number of shares short as upside protection.
I do it, professional traders do it and no doubt hedge fund managers do it or they're out on their arse.
No boogie men, just smart traders waiting out the eventual haircut. And if no haircut, no skin of their backs as they have call options as insurance against a FED call.
AlanC, for you to respond.
Keep your powder dry for this one. I'm looking to move hard on this in the neighborhood of $250-to $350k buy post ipo.
Wow, this turnaround exceeded my expectations. I had a buy write on the 75s with the stock @ 67.00 and wrote an 80 put for a total premium of roughly 13.00 net credit. Sold the underlying, bought the put back and the call for a net gain of 7822.00. Not bad for a two week play.
Up 10 bux since 6/16 where it briefly traded at 64.94. Nice turnaround with very little risk.
Glad I stayed away from this from the get go. My insights were spot on.
You always have to buy this on a dip. Nice recovery after a fairly steep swoon into sub 100 territory. Me likey!
moe_the_gyp01 Didn't take very long.

You clearly missed the point. The essence of the discussion centered around the integrity of the business practices that seem to pervade not only its management but also it's audit committee head. To me that's a credibility hit I'd rather avoid. Not saying this stock won't go up at some point but with an integrity wild card floating around I think I'll pass.
NIce move. Making money here is like falling off a log.
This may take time to mature but if you are a long term investor, wait for the options to be priced to hedge any play.
No problem. Just been busy as heck recently. Things firming up a bit yeah?
This issue should do well long term. And then the 800 pound gorilla Facebook which should go public next year if not sooner will breathe new life into a space that will seem all but played out by the time shares hit the street. On balance, I think the social media space has a lot of legs still in its very young life. Question is, when the bubble for social media finally burst as all bubbles do, who will be left standing as the premier player and what will the road ahead look like? I'm betting this one will be one of the few still around after so many try and fail.
This kind of opening reminds me of RHAT and GOOG and a few others back in the late 90s.
Chinese internet my foot. How about this IPO! Up 38 bux! http://techcrunch.com/2011/05/19/linkedin-ipo-shares-pop-84-percent-on-first-trade/
This stock is so fun to trade. Never a dull moment.
This IPO will make RENN look like a pink sheet woofer.

"Last year, LinkedIn earned $3.4 million on revenue of $243 million. Its growth accelerated during the first three months of 2011, putting it on a pace to generate $500 million in revenue this year..."

Be very careful with the "Facebook of China". The decline since going IPO may reside in the following...
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704729304576286903217555660.html
"At best, it's a careless mistake. At worst, it leaves investors with an impression that something dodgy is going on," said Michael Clendenin, managing director of research firm RedTech Advisors (China) LLC.
Story breaking today on Reuters: Renren’s audit committee chair quits ahead of IPO.
http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/05/03/renren-director-idUSN0225977120110503
THE CONS
1. It’s not Facebook
Looking just at U.S. numbers, more than half of America’s 230 plus million Internet users are on Facebook. China has more than 400 million Internet users, but Renren only has only 20 to 30 million active monthly users and perhaps around 100 million registered users in total.
That’s a long way behind Facebook. There is no ubiquitous Facebook “Like” button on the Chinese Internet, and I have never heard of a young Renren user being horrified because their mom just signed up for the service.
Renren has simply not grown to occupy the place in Chinese life that Facebook has assumed in the U.S. and elsewhere.
Also worth scrutinizing all of the numbers very carefully. See for example: Renren Changes Key User Figure Before IPO, and the diplomatically titled Is Renren Seeing Explosive Active User Growth?
2. Brutal competitive landscape
In terms of the product, Renren’s closest competitor is Kaixin001, another Chinese Facebook clone that may seek an IPO this year. Kaixin is most famous in China for launching a Farmville type game long before Farmville was popular in the U.S.
But Renren is also up against dozens of other websites, including the following major players all of whom have very deep pockets:
Tencent, the behemoth of the Chinese Internet that provides one service or another to perhaps 80% of Chinese Internet users and which operates the social networks Pengyou and QZone.
Sina‘s Weibo, China’s most popular Twitter type service that also intergrates many SNS features and which is assumed by many industry insiders to be taking users from Renren and Kaixin001.
Baidu, China’s search giant that has a number of social offerings and is widely rumored to be lining up a partneship with Facebook for the China market.
3. Revenues just aren’t that good
The potential is there, but right now Renren is not making that much money. Two links: RenRen IPO Shows You Don’t Need Revenue Growth To Be Worth $5 Billion and Renren Q1 2011 Loss Reaches USD 2.6 Mln
Janice, I have been on many a board where our efforts were totally aligned. YOU ARE THE BEST. And like yourself, I have a staunch record of being a skeptic about 100% of these pink sheet flim flam stocks. Still waiting for you to be wrong.
Long wait.:)
Going strong.
Very solid and growing company. This is a very long term core holding that you can trade smaller short term positions with stock and option strategies with a bullish bias.
911...RENN if you want a taste of social media China style. Just went IPO. You of course know BIDU, right? Trading at 139 after a 10 for 1 forward split or 1390.00 split adjust from its IPO price a few years back also in the 14-20 range.
Go real long to get a full pop.

TECA is looking better and better and better imo. Good day folks some conslidation is never a bad thing..
Hopefully this week will give us something. If not soon well hopefully it will be huge when it hits.
GLTYA
Reason number 242 I don't trade pink trash!!!! What junk. They stick it in easy, comes back greasy as one of my boyfriends said once...once.
Troyland, please tell us you're kidding, right? What was today's dollar volume? 11k maybe? Sorry, that's even lower than the national poverty level for household annual income. There is no interest here whereby anything even remotely approaching consolidation could be construed to be occurring.
NO cash, No Revenue, if this Co. is searching for Lithium then so is my cat. It's a wonder this junk isn't under .0010.
UDH, OMG!!!! Bid stack ask slap give a dog a bone! I have never seen anybody get so amped up over a stock that has only traded give or take 16K. 16K!!!!!!!!!!! That's so minuscule it barely earns the definition of stock trading. I mean what is the point of even trading if the average trade is less than 500 bux.
I'm sorry but if I ever had a complete lack of respect for the typical sub penny piker, it has forever been solidifies by that
"ask slap" bs.
Are you serious? Be a Helpy Helperson, honey, I don't know about you but when people ask me for my time they have purchased it. Your crusade is a wasted one that pays squat. A double no-no in my book.
And done. Much money to tend to and time is so short.
I did a photo shoot for a tire ad and that was one of the throw aways. I cropped it or you might have seen more than I was willing to show on a public message board. Don't get any strange ideas, I wasn't nude but my bathing suit top could hardly be considered a top, get it?;?
Next question, yes I'm a mix of italian, french, asian. All the best restaurants incidentally.
A shell is a shell is a shell, trade it, don't marry it. The "greater fool theory" applies here. Get in, get out, never look back.
Moviedude, how much do you have in this "stock"?
Lichar, Big boys? You must be kidding. Average trade size 498.00, bunch of pikers as usual.
FFIV!!!!!!UP 9% in Ah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your only hope varmit is that somebody mistakenly places a trade to buy this junk because it has the word "Gold" in its company name.
Yeah, guess you got that going for ya slick.
Better now? Trade them. They will alawys pay off.
