i think this post is now accurate..jmo..eom
affirmative...actually..not enough volume..but whatever eom
company performance pretty much dictates the way stocks are treated or affected...any company that has a certain amount of volitilty will be day traded..it means nothing to a strong company..but its viewed as bad with a weak company...the market likes strength..it detests weakness..
moral of the story is....be strong or suffer
items in the hopper mean nothing..waiting for news..eom
yup..but there is money to be made here even if its all only half true....ever think of that?
there..im feeling much better now eom
shove it down their throats!!..make them pay!!
yea..another article i read said chip price used to be the big issue so pc manufacturers went with whoever gave them the best offer......now however its all about what the chips can do, speed etc..so they feel they can sell more computers if they give customers the option to choose what they want.....what mumbo jumbo..customers dont know what they want till you tell them...dell needs to tell their customers they want mcc and force them to buy it by bundling it with their pc's..thats it! end of discussion!..
yea..and evidently she will say whatever you want her to say..lol
oh geez...forget what i said..according to this article, all the tier one's seem to sell their pc's with both intc and amd chips..whatever you want..
Sun to Tap Intel as Additional Chip Supplier

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters)—Computer maker Sun Microsystems Inc. will announce on Monday plans to use microprocessors from No. 1 chip maker Intel Corp., according to a source familiar with the situation, in what would be a blow to Intel's smaller rival Advanced Micro Devices Inc.
Under the agreement, Sun Microsystems will buy Intel's Xeon chips to power its servers, in addition to AMD's Opteron chips that Sun uses, the source said.
Sun has scheduled a news conference for Monday morning at a San Francisco hotel but declined to give further details. An Intel spokesman declined to comment.
Sun has used the Opteron chips over the past two to three years exclusively in its servers, because of what has been AMD's power and performance advantages over Intel until recently, analysts said. Servers are the workhorses of computer and carry far higher profit margins than do personal computers.
With the pending announcement, Sun joins the three other large U.S. computer makers—Dell Inc., Hewlett-Packard Co. and International Business Machines Corp.—in selling computers that use both AMD and Intel chips.
"This would mark an almost final stage in terms of end users being able to buy servers with either Intel or AMD chips from every important supplier," said Nathan Brookwood, president of Silicon Valley consulting firm Insight64.
Dell, which had only until recently used Intel chips, is now selling computers based on AMD's microprocessors, which are the central computing engines of computers.
An AMD spokesman couldn't immediately be reached for comment.
Sun will start buying Xeon chips that use Intel's Woodcrest chip design, the source said. The announcement will also involve Intel working to optimize Sun 's Solaris operating system to run on Intel's Xeon chips.
On Friday, Bank of American Equity Research analyst Sumit Dhanda wrote in a note to clients that his checks within the supply-chain in the technology industry indicated that Sun would start using Intel chips in servers that would be available to customers in late 2007.
"Development is currently taking place at the engineering level, with expectations for volume production sometime in late 2007," Dhanda wrote.
Although Sun is not as big a seller of computer servers now as it was in the late 1990s, its move to Intel chips is a shot in the arm to Intel, which has stumbled in the past several years and is now again producing competitive processors that are used in PCs and servers.
"Intel has come back and has a very credible roadmap and product line and customers are asking for it," Brookwood said.
For Intel Chief Executive Paul Otellini, it's the biggest customer win since Apple Inc. opted in 2005 to switch to Intel chips from those made by IBM. Apple has, over the years, as has Sun Microsystems, taken digs at Intel over what the two companies once said was lagging technology on Intel's part.
Sun Chairman Scott McNealy has in the past referred to an Intel chip called Itanium as "Itanic," after that chip did not take off in the server market as Intel and its co-developer on Itanium, HP, had hoped.
McNealy tapped protege Jonathan Schwartz in April 2006 to succeed him as chief executive, and in addition to the CEO title, Schwartz also holds the title of president.
Since taking the reins, Schwartz has pushed Sun to sell the Solaris operating system more aggressively and has worked to offer its customers more choice in mixing and matching software, services and different types of computer hardware to boost financial results.
"Although Sun is fairly small player in the x86 server market (No. 6 in market share), it has been one of the fastest growing vendors in this market over the past few quarters," Dhanda wrote.

actually veno...dell uses amd chips..they used to use intel chips but stopped about 8 months ago i believe...of course im not sure if they use amd exclusively or not..but i remember it was a big deal in the news when it was announced..cant figure out whether they still use some intel chips or not..
at any rate..im thinking since dean is using intel terminology and he has had some kind of working relationship with intel, that intel may have assisted onev in hooking up with the tier one..for that reason, im discounting dell...i doubt intc is in the mood to help out dell in any way..just a guess
no..it doesnt eom
hmmm....since dean is using an intel term and im presuming intel may have a connection with the tier one...then to whom does intel sell chips too?..all of them?..or perhaps we can narrow it down?..
actually no..good news will come..money will be made..how good and how much is anyone's guess....ill take what i can get
well i dont know about all that..(yes i do but im trying to be modest)
and yet he thinks its dell..kinda tells you somethin dont it?
btw veno..i know when i talk about flipping onev it rubs you the wrong way...but its like that great philosopher popeye always said..........i yam what i yam
im hoping the china visit was for take out or something else unrelated to the tier one...but one never knows
veno...well i guess we'll see what its all about eventually...i hope its all that and more..and i hope its sooner rather than later..id hate for my feb guess to go up in smoke
ok..lets clear this misconception about the ms connection running the pps to .20 a few years ago..
the ms news got onev a lot of looks from a lot of people..the pps did pop a bit..but it was the volume attracting daytraders that ran the pps up to .20..
and that could happen again..in fact, i think it will..and that is pretty much all im hoping for..the news about the tier will have an impact..if its coupled with the telnor news within a very short period of time, then that should get the volume popping big time..that should attract the daytraders who will send the volume skyrocketing along with the pps..(hopefully)..if india comes along or some cingular news or whatever then daytraders are guaranteed to show up in droves..
thus, i dont care what effect the the tier one will have on the pps..nor telnor...i care what effect they will have on the volume and attracting the daytraders..they will send the pps beyond all reason..and thats what i want..
if i dont get the daytraders here, then of course the teir one and telnor etc have much more significance to me....and its virtually impossible to judge their impact on the pps as we have no clue who they are or what they will do and what they want and how they will sell and what our cut is...same with telnor and everyone else...you can almost be guaranteed though that none of it will be as big or have as great an impact as most think..certainly not short term...jmo
new models?..you mean newly developed models or just newly manufactured?...worked on as of yesterday?..hmmm
once mcc is on the pc?...advertised whenever?..
sounds a lot like the news about the tier one will have about 1/3 the impact it could have had...or less..and much less of an impact on the pps..much less
veno...i said feb...and i say gateway..im never wrong eom
depends on which half eom
right bulls..im sure onev told dell to get their azz in gear
and the tier one?...where in that order does it appear?..
and as for the surprise, im assuming you are refering to something oriental?....well i guess anything is possible...just not probable
gannent
"Nobody is here for a nickle or dime"
well.............
gateway...telnor...india eom
gateway..then telnor..and thats a fact eom
and as you well know...im never wrong eom
its gateway..just have that feeling eom
sounds like the indian carrier didnt want the whole enchilada though..maybe just a piece of it...the revenue should still be significant though, if they are that big
you are so easily frightened and swayed..not the usual makings of a successful investor..certainly not one of the stature you claim to have..add to that your unusual proclilvities and childish demeanor and.............well lets just say i would sooner believe you had 12m fleas as 12m shares..
i want dell, hp or gateway...not too interested in the rest..but what the heck, ill take em anyway...my guess is gateway...i know what you said about their management and communication issues, but i still think its them...my understanding is they recently went away from brick and mortar to purely on line...always problems with that kind of transition...no biggie
rb post 139666...1vdumbazz copied it for everyone eom

oh yea..ive been there eom
hints wont cut it..when msft releases vista, many companies will be touting their deals based on it...there will be enough real deals that no one care about hints
the price wont continue ticking up in feb without news...in fact the pps will drop without news...a lot
wont take that long either eom
wont take that long eom
