Wonder if Liquidmetal was in Europe to collect?
http://www.automobilsport.com/materialica-design-technology-award-2016---156788.html
Made amends the website was updated earlier this year.
Great news!
We may not agree on this forum about Liquidmetal. However, from a human perspective I hope for positive results Jollymon!
Were published in Europe today by Eontec:

Funny but I don't get that warning and if so just click on it and hope the malware doesn't take over.
The prior eon site did the same thing.
USPTO issued to Crucible today.

I still think that the (let's call it for now) Eon machine will be for bigger parts or less detailed oriented pieces. The Engel machine would be opposite.
For anyone who has doubts about Lugee Li and his intent, check out the updated Eontec website. This man is on a mission.

Plus with Liquidmetal hiring this guy as the facilities engineer, tells me they are dead serious on moving to bigger facility, since the job description had that in there.
http://www.affinitymed.com/people/kevin-kom.aspx
BTW - the new Facilities Engineer position was filled last month. Remember the one I shared here. Thought might break up the monotony of the back and forth going on today.
Which booth? Only ask since the message you replied to was deleted.
To OTW's point, I wouldn't want a ranking exec at a trade show. Now another event like the Engel Liquidmetal forum, that's very different.
Excellent point...
Thanks for sharing your feedback on your observations at this event.
Well liquidmorphium trademark is dead as mentioned already....and it was only filed in the United States.
See below:
http://www.freepatentsonline.com/y2015/0322555.html
Most of their IP resides in China and a lot of the BMG IP started early 2014.
Any hint of CE usage tied back to LMT Technology that Eontec received a license to, and Apple will blow them up like the Samsung batteries. Only one who can ask permission for CE is Liquidmetal through MTA with Apple. If Eontec wants to pursue with Samsung through IP they own that is patent protected in respective country that doesn't clash with Apple or CIP IP, then they won't care. Tough job though since CIP and Apple have secured tons of patents already. No one is saying it's impossible, just be prepared to face Apple in court.
There is no such thing as the patents for CE that Eontec can't have. The agreement states they just can't utilize for CE product.
Yes I use the "filed" term loosely. The file date was back in May with the published date with USPTO today.
1. Yes
2. Not as far as I am aware based on the Liquidmetal-Eontec license agreement. See my other comments below.
3. Engel injection molding vs Eontec casting method, so difference is in delivery of material into mold. Just remember that Liquidmetal gave Apple rights to their cold chamber die casting method through CIP.
Apple will come after your butt....remember that Apple is bound to handle all prosecution and defense of IP tied to LMT tech.
"(iii) Notwithstanding anything in this Agreement to the contrary, in order to comply with Section 2.6 of the Crucible License Agreement (as defined below), LMT and Eontec (and their permitted sublicensees, successors, and assigns) hereby grant to Crucible and reserve for Crucible (A) the right to take any and all actions necessary to defend the LMT Technology (as defined below) in any litigation or administrative proceedings in which Eontec or any permitted sublicensee, successor, or assign is a party and (B) the right to take any and all actions necessary to defend the LMT Technology in any ligiation or administrative proceedings in which Eontec or any permitted sublicensee, successor, or assign is a party. Crucible is an intended third-party beneficiary of this paragraph. For purposes of this paragraph, the term “Crucible” means Crucible Intellectual Property, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company, and “Crucible License Agreement” means the Exclusive License Agreement, dated August 5, 2010, between LMT and Crucible. Solely for purposes of this paragraph and not for any other purpose in this Agreement, “LMT Technology” has the meaning set forth in the Master Transaction Agreement, dated August 5, 2010, among Apple Inc., LMT, Crucable, and Liquidmetal Coatings, LLC, as amended."
Filed by Eontec here in the states today through USPTO.

Seriously...for the millionth time he did not get all of the IP or all of the non-CE IP. Ive said this in multiple posts.
One of Apple's first applications to reference Liquidmetal" became a patent in Europe today.
http://www.freepatentsonline.com/EP2176049B1.html
"Although only a few embodiments of the present invention have been described, it should be understood that the present invention may be embodied in many other specific forms without departing from the scope of the claims. By way of example, while the present invention has been described in terms of metal parts, the present invention is not limited to being used with respect to metal parts. Rather than being formed from metal, a substrate onto which features are to be adhered may be fabricated from other materials including, but not limited to including, glass or ceramic.?A moldable material from which features are formed may be formed from substantially any suitable plastic or resin. For instance, a moldable material may be formed from a plastic such as polycarbonate or acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS). It should be appreciated that a moldable material is not limited to being a plastic or a resin. By way of example, a moldable material may be an injectable ceramic, or a moldable or injectable metal such as LiquidMetal. Liquid metals, and the use thereof, are described in U.S. Provisional Application No.
60/949,449 filed July 12, 2007, and entitled "INSERT MOLDING LIQUID METAL AROUND GLASS".?While the surface of a metal part which is to be bound to a moldable part has generally been described as including either protrusions or undercuts, the surface of a metal part is not limited to including either protrusions or undercuts. For instance, the surface of a metal part to which a moldable part is lobe adhered may include both protrusions and undercuts. Further, the sizes and the shapes of protrusions and undercuts associated with the surface of a metal part may vary. In one embodiment, protrusions of different shapes and/or undercuts of different shapes may be associated with a single metal part. By way of example, chemically etching undercuts and/or voids in a substrate may include applying a first set of chemicals to etch peaks and valleys on the surface of a substrate, providing a liquid in the valleys, polishing the surface, and then applying a second set of chemicals that 'eats' the liquid in the valleys at different rates than the surface to create undercuts. Therefore, the present examples are to be considered as illustrative and not restrictive, and the invention is not to be limited to the details given herein, but maybe modified within the scope of the appended claims."

The security release is to Crucible, doesn't say Eontec.
Not a link pal. It's through Research with the IP offices that I've paid for, so I only share actual documents with closest friends who are also shareholders. Dated February 19, 2016 ..... Right before Eontec deal. Coincidence don't think so!
The IP portion was signed off by Apple. By BJ Watruous at Apple. Very unique to this deal. It basically allowed CIP the right to give intellectual rights to Eontec. Show me where Visser got that release... It doesn't. Apple is allowing Eontec to play in the sandbox through IP assigned through CIP... Not all though to be crystal clear.
Zirconium based ..... Yes. I've asked before.
As previously provided that would be issued today under CIP:
"Slotted shot sleeve for induction melting of material"

FYI - Next year Symposium in San Diego, with work being done in collaboration with Higher education institutions (Meaning Liquidmetal involved):
"Fabrication and Characterization of Roll Bonded, Laminated Bulk Metallic Glass/Metal Composites"

However, the most interesting one.
"Production of zirconium based bulk metallic glass sheet. "
Jim Yurko at Apple in collaboration with others including Materion:

Last post of the day.
Filed with USPTO today via CIP, having to do with the induction coils. It was the work to perfect the components and mechanisms to the Engel machine.

"The latching link 202-1 includes a body 206. The body 206 may be formed from any suitable material, including but not limited to metal, amorphous metal/metallic alloys, ceramic, and plastic."
First time I have EVER seen a filing tying BMG's back to a specific product in direct detail that Apple has out. Whether it has been used in 1st Gen, new ones or in the future is the unknown. Anyone want to purchase and take it to an expert. :)
This whole waterproofing and dust proofing thing on the watch and phone have me intrigued. This USPTO application was filed in January 2011 (Waniuk was still there).
http://www.freepatentsonline.com/y2011/0163509.html
They keep going back and forth with USPTO on its current prosecution with latest changes filed 9/6/16.
Why are they still going back and forth with USPTO so bad with this one? CE need or development in other products that warrant element proofing needs, etc?
There is IP related to amorphous alloy feedstock using ceramic particles like zirconia...
USASKULL, this is for you for USPTO IP filings, where Liquidmetal, amorphous alloy/ amorphous metal, metallic glass is part of summary or specific claims:
CIP/Liquidmetal IP Assigned counts
Patents issued: 91
Applications in prosecution: 54
Apple ONLY Assigned IP counts
Patents issued: 20
Applications in prosecution: 32
Glassimetal IP assigned to Apple counts
Patents issued: 2
Applications in prosecution: 28
***NOTE: None of these filings showed inventors at Apple and Glassimetal shared in any filing, unlike Liquidmetal & Materion***
Glassimetal ONLY Assigned IP counts
Patents issued: 0
Applications in prosecution: 1
Materion and Apple IP counts

Applications in prosecution: 2
I only share full details of these counts with my close friends, so this is all I can give you.
However, additional tidbits on upcoming IP filings:
To be issued to CIP on 9/13 as USPTO patent:
http://www.freepatentsonline.com/y2015/0013933.html
To be issued to CIP (date TBD as patent is still in official print stage as USPTO patent:
http://www.freepatentsonline.com/y2012/0247622.html
This was allowed to CIP and is pending patent issue payment:
http://www.freepatentsonline.com/y2014/0290901.html
This was allowed to Apple and is pending patent issue payment:
http://www.freepatentsonline.com/y2015/0298206.html
This was allowed to Apple and is pending movement to USPTO print:

P.S. - I have always had a theory that Apple paid $20 million on know hows of processes involved with molding vs CNC based; and not necessarily all just about using BMG's. However, this is for the NEW ceramic watch.
The craftsmanship behind the case.
"The process of creating the Apple Watch Edition case begins with a high-strength zirconia powder that’s combined with alumina to achieve its rich, white color. Each case is then compression molded, sintered, and polished using a diamond slurry, which results in a remarkably smooth surface and an exquisite shine. With this precise level of workmanship, every Apple Watch Edition case takes days to make."
Here is a filing related to compression molding and BMG with ceramic particles.

Not a shocker......said it the other day. Big deal that everyone needs to get out of their mind. Revenue only from non-CE or CE allowed by Apple. The day that Apple grants written notice to CE, which would be material change is when CE money is allowed. These no Liquidmetal in iPhone shocker comments are no different than the party that says its in case.
Wow that's a big statement to make (obvious one).......
Who cares about Apple, big whooping deal!
