Seems that Handcamp is quite a large area, as per Ken Stead, and different spots have been worked on.
In the work done by Falconbridge I don't see any claim #'s. Can it be shown that the work there, was the exact place that Kat Exploration has worked?
http://gis.geosurv.gov.nl.ca/geofilePDFS/Batch03/012H_0668.pdf
From the BVIG 8K:
Previous Exploration
The area in which the Property is located has had a sporadic history of exploration and development since discovery of the Handcamp gold and base metal prospect in 1928. Trenching was carried out on the prospect in 1930 and six short drill holes completed in 1941. Orenada Mines Ltd. conducted a short 14-hole drilling program on the prospect in 1956. Geophysical surveys including magnetic and electromagnetic surveys were conducted on the property between 1956 and 1977. From 1977 to 1979 Falconbridge Ltd. carried out geological, geochemical and geophysical surveys in the prospect area followed up by trenching and a nine-hole diamond drilling program. During 1982, US Borax Ltd. and Pacific Coast Mines Inc. carried out an induced polarization geophysical survey and subsequently a seven drill hole approximately 684 m drilling program.
Results of the previous exploration returned generally encouraging results that prompted KATX to option the Property in 2006 from certain prospectors. At that time, KATX established an approximately 2 km by 2 km exploration grid centered on the Property. Soil sampling on the grid revealed elevated concentrations of gold, copper and zinc related to the main structure on the Property as well in an area on the west side of the grid along a chain of small ponds. Several rock samples collected in the area also returned elevated gold. The Property was returned to the vendors in 2007. A high resolution airborne magnetic survey completed by the Geological Survey of Canada in 2008 revealed the presence of northeast-trending magnetic structures, one of which coincides with the location of the Property.

After looking over the post from the bashers, maybe we could turn this into a good thing and soften the faces of the basher, by my clarifying the data they’ve been posting. Here it is.
Bob
The data that Mr Bishop is posting for the most part is correct.
However, let me explain the difference of what we are calling the Handcamp and what the old records is calling the Handcamp.
In the early years of the old “GullBridge” copper mine, which is approximately 10 kms SW of our claims, much exploration was carried out in the vicinity of the mine looking for the main copper horizon that was hosting the copper at the mine.
Therefore, an extremely large parcel of land(hundreds of square KMs) was staked to the NE of the mine where numerous copper and gold showing were discovered. Gold was at an all time low and too costly to take our off the ground at any dept. That huge property became known as the “Handcamp” property. Over the years much work was carried out in various places with some drilling many KM to the South of our property, where they were still looking for the copper horizon that was at the GullBridge copper mine, yet it was all called the Handcamp. After a while portions of that property went back to the crown with lots of interesting data but not being compiled into one data bank to see the full potential of the whole area.
In the late 90’s a couple of prospectors discovers this tremendous gold zone way to the North of what was called the Handcamp property and they called this gold discovery (wouldn’t you know) the Handcamp property.
That’s why it has caused some confusion over the years as being a property overworked and changing hands, as Mr Bishop claims to raise $$ on, which is not accurate. This area is very under worked and we intend to see what its full potential really is, by drilling it and other areas as well if data proves it should(and it’s looking that way.)
The gold numbers are very high in the area and because of the overburden soil sampling and trenching has proved that there is much more to this area than what has already been discovered. We will continue to do what is necessary to bring this property to the next level and hope that it will warrant a feasibility study to become an economic deposit.

Thanks homevendor! Great DD about VALE drilling just north of North Lucky.

Big Owl wrote ,,,"I’m not saying there is anything mineable at N & S Lucky properties. The South Lucky claim is the original one of the two. On this claim copper mineralization is quite visible in an old pit near the gravel road and impressive malachite staining along with chalcocite is strata bound within the more sandy beds of the sediments. The horizon that hosts the mineralization has been traced for approx. 17kms with copper mineralization at a thickness of 300ft in places and assay results of 2.5% Cu has been discovered in exposed areas in the pit from within this horizon. This type of environment has the potential to produce low grade, large tonnage copper deposits similar to those of the Zambia copper belt.=========================================================================================================== On Kats website it clearly states "since June" Kat is working ,,,,,with ,,,,,,,Vale on the Lucky properties.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I don't believe it will be long before we learn more about what Vale has found,,,,,,,,,also I believe a good deal of these agreed expenditures have also have already been spent,,,,,"incur a minimum of C$750,000 in exploration expenditures within the option period",,,,,,,,The last point I would point out is ,,,, Copper Above $10,000 a Ton,,,,,,,Kat Exploration Reports Additional Copper Find on Its "Lucky" Property

Balihi, one thing to take notice of is the drilling Vale started on Cornerstone's Red Cliff property it has an option with. As you can see on their website, it was to commence on Nov 4, 2010. http://www.cornerstoneresources.com/s/NewsReleases.asp?ReportID=426671&_Type=News&_Title=10-23-Cornerstone-announces-start-of-diamond-drilling-on-the-Red-Cliff-copp...
And was expected to have results released mid December......
"The drilling program will take approximately three weeks to complete, and results will be released upon receipt of final analytical results expected by mid-December 2010."
Not sure of their delay but it is now several weeks past its release date. May be lab delays!
Bravo Mappo!
Someone sure bought that up quick Hawksfan. There's a buyer on the other end of that sell at bid.
Thank You BigOwl for all that you do! :o)
Nice! Thanks homevendor

This is a map from the above link. Lots of good info. Rusty is approx at the Red dot. I believe Cache Exploration's Louil Hills, is incorrectly pinpointed on this map, because it is the property to the east of Rusty. http://www.cacheexploration.com/properties/louill-hill-complex.html
Peralkaline volcanics is very interesting to read about and were mentioned in the KATX PR in Dec.

My reply was in regards to Louieforpar's post where he said the shares were for distro
Agreed!
The 161M distribution shares are from BVIG not Katx. Totally different than the other shares we have been talking about.
Perhaps he will retire them Gump. We all know Ken Stead loves retiring shares. :o) From 3Billion down to 700M AS
And also, they recently lowered the float.
As per the Third Quarter Disclosure statement posted October 11, 2010, Kat Exploration reduced the float by ANOTHER 41,383,486 shares!

Re: homevendor post# 116047 Post # of 125213
I have never shared this before, but here's what Ken told me about Cabot back in the good old days when he was still talking to shareholders. This email is worth reading as it explains why Cabot was for sale in the first place and what the potential is for a fairly quick "win" for us, given that part of the work is already done. It's sad that Mr King will not be around to reap the rewards from this project, but it's great that his two partners are now in a position to benefit through the deal they struck with KAT. Hopefully this will mean a win/win for all concerned...

Richard
There has only been 14 drill holes on the optioned properties. 7 of which are being logged for assay because the owner of British Canadian (Nelson King) up and died but was very careless in the way he handled this project. The drill result from the first 7 are quite interesting and we expect the other 7 will be as well. However, it is the most recent gold discoveries along with base metals that drew us to the property because just 25 km away the old Rambler” mine is coming back into production with new gold discoveries as well as Copper so from a strategic point of view this puts us in a more favorable position to move the property forward.

Incidentally this was the last email I ever received from Ken. After that... silence! But Jack still responds when I email him, which TBH is very rarely now - what is there to ask (that he is likely to reply to)? :o)

Looks like a great place to get into this Exploration Company!

Who is HungREE for a PR on Rusty Ridge? I am.
Thanks Steesharp for all of your DD on Cabot and all of Kat properties. It's a great way to pass the time while waiting on RR results. Why some put you down for all of the hard work you do, I just don't understand. Keep up the good work. :o)
