In the post i referenced--29919--mojo says we have had Monster silk for some time but haven't done anything with it to make $$$, which presumably we could have been doing. However, i don't know if this contention is true.
Here is the relevant quote:
"they need to get something done soon...they need to start making money....they have had monster silk for awhile now...and that was supposed to have been a major achievement...they were supposed to have been able to market that all over the place...they were supposed to have been able to make tons of money with it...so far kblb hasnt seen a dime from it.. "
1. i think you mean "income", not "revenue" (look it up)
2. It's (with apostrophe) = it is, so you must mean: its (look it up)
3. i think you mean "proverbial", not "preverbal" (look it up)
Other than that (Mrs. Lincoln), your message displays a brilliant use of the English language...and is no doubt true, as well.
I refer you to igotthemojo's Post # 29919, which is what i was referencing. Maybe he's all wrong. I hope so. Please read it and reply.
Sorry i wasn't more clear. I didn't mean "we" on this board should focus on discussing something in particular. I meant the *company* (that i and other longs seem sufficiently identified with that i used the word "we") should--according to igotthemojo--focus on completing one, high-priority, $$$$$-generating project instead of being spread out everywhere.
What igotthemojo has said here (Post #29919) about why we should focus *first* on completing *ONE* project that actually makes $$$, makes a lot of sense IMHO (even though it has usually seemed to me and other longs that his posts are basically bashing the company). I think we should pay attention to this important issue he raises and not simply dismiss it out of hand merely because it's coming from igotthemojo.
Whoever disagrees with him, go ahead and present a reasoned rebuttal.
However, *IF* this is a real problem in terms of significantly getting the pps up where we want it to be, *what can we shareholders do about it*??? complain to management? well, yes. But will that do any good?
Any guesses how high we can reasonably expect KBLB to go in the next 12 months? By end of this year?
Zinc, thanks for your reply. I'm glad i asked what is so special about spider silk and is it reasonable to assume there's a big market for our product--because of the encouraging replies my question generated.
As to KBLB pps, how high do you think we can reasonably expect it to go over the next 12 months? When do you or anyone else think it will reach $1.00?
As to ACTC, they are doing great in their trials and have a gazillion irons in the fire, including patents and partnerships in Scotland and Korea. They are flying. These trials are officially just to determine safety but clearly safety has already been established. Most likely we will hear soon that far more was accomplished than just proving safety--like, actual vision improvement. In the last conference call, acting CEO Gary Rabin came very close to saying as much. What he said was that he wished he could tell us all the great things they are seeing in these trials but he's not allowed to. He also said that significant shareholder value *will be created* over the next 12 months. Meanwhile, it's not too late to buy in by any means! Come join us, we'd love to have you on our team, Zinc! Ditto any other science lovers.
Question: Why is spider silk so great? Seriously? I have been long KBLB for a long time and have stayed faithful despite being way underwater most of the time. Much of my confidence has been inspired by Zincfinger's posts. From those, I get that the amazing technology is there and that the company is meeting its goals with the worms. But suddenly i find myself wondering: *why* do the enthusiasts feel so sure that there will be this huge market for spider silk? I mean, what is wrong with ordinary silk? Sure, spider silk may be stronger but is there really any problem with the strength of regular silk for the textile market?
For the high-tech market, aren't there sufficiently strong synthetic fibers already such as Kevlar?
I would be thrilled if there are such needs for our product but i'm less convinced of that right now than i am of our technology to produce it.
This new questioning was partly instigated by igotthemojo's recent postings as well as trying to decide whether i should focus more on my other main investment, ACTC, which is hot on the trail of curing macular degeneration--the leading cause of adult blindness--through the use of embryonic stem cells. They have also made a lot of progress in creating many other highly necessary medical products, including for blood, and heart. Now those are vital needs and guaranteed markets! http://www.advancedcell.com/
I look forward to becoming re-enthused about KBLB's prospects for something bigger than small trades...
Hi Zinc, Thanks for clarifying your situation. Sorry to hear that you've been dealt a severe blow by "the system"! Hopefully, however, the huge success you predict of KBLB will come true and we'll all do very well!
Hi Zinc,
I'm really surprised that you say you own "(by most standards) a relatively modest number of shares" since your obvious enthusiasm for the company and your very frequent presence on this board (for which i'm extremely grateful) have always led me to think that you must own a bare minimum of 1-2 million shares and that KBLB would be your main investment.
If this is not the case, i'd certainly like to know why not...and hope you do't mind my asking.
ZINC, thanks for your thorough reply. I think there's every reason to feel confident in the near term and further success of KBLB. And we are very lucky to have you on board to clarify many things for the longs, newbies and potential investors!
ZINC, wouldn't all those humanized/medical applications--such as glycosylation of proteins--require FDA approval?
What does this imply, in your opinion?
About the goats, I think Zinc explained once why our method is so much better than the goats milk method. I don't remember all the details but i was very satisfied with his reasoning. Among other things: our method will produce much more of the silk protein, at far less expense.
If Zinc reads this, I hope he will reply with a re-post of that explanation or a link to it.
Why are you so down on the company?
If Epic did take over Elite, what would that mean for us shareholders? What would be the pps? and would we still be shareholders, but of Epic rather than Elite?
What is the patent for?
Does Aronson have any legitimate case here? Like, what is this alleged breach of contract in regard to? And what alleged securities fraud?
Tangerine, i sure hope you're right. But now i'm worried about Pfizer's oxy getting ahead of ours. What's your take on that issue?
To igotthemojo: I'm not too good with sarcasm, which might explain why I don't see your point. Are you saying that you expect a $4.50 pps to come much sooner than three years from now? Or what? What, exactly, is your expectation?
But will we ever come out of this horrible slump??? Will we ever get to $0.30? What would make it happen and when do you think that will happen?
Scary that Pfizer appears to be ahead of us on Oxy, one of our best chances for success. Or am i wrong on Pfizer (i hope)?
I forget which promo it was but it was the same guys twice. Last one was in June. Went from approx 0.83 to tops 1.45. If i remember correctly, promo was around a couple of weeks.
It topped at $1.45 in June.
Great info that HPGS doesn't use fracking! That water-polluting practice could be subject to severe regulations in the future and could slow down other gas companies. Thank you for posting the link.
Great post, thank you! When was this speech given and in what context?
naked shorts???
Since you are up on all this, it would be a great service to all longs (and you, too) if you'd call the company to clarify these issues and report back to us. The more confident we feel, the more we'll buy...
DrMG: Ben answered the phone when i called and was entirely willing to spend time with me. Apparently, like many other management people, he is more responsive to phone calls than to emails. SO, IF YOU HAVE A SPECIFIC QUESTION TO ASK HIM, THE OBVIOUS THING TO DO IS STOP WHINING AND PICK UP THE PHONE--like, CALL HIM!!!
Needless to say, a smaller number of shares is less obvious. How could you own millions of shares and not realize that? You had to consider the same issue in reverse when buying, right?
Regarding Dr. Kaplan: I called Ben today to ask what was the Dr. Kaplan thing all about. He spent a lot of time with me and sounded completely sincere. (go ahead and laugh cynically). What he said was that Dr K was absolutely bombarded with calls and emails from all kinds of people who were basically trying to find out from him if he believed the technology would deliver the $$$.
I asked why KPLB didn't state this on their website instead of saying nothing, since it otherwise appears very odd that this great scientist would join the board and then almost immediately leave the board. Ben replied that if they stated what had happened, it would only draw further attention to Dr. Kaplan so they hoped the hullaballo would simply die down and that dr. Kaplan would come back to the board at a later date. I said, you should make sure there is some person in place to vet the calls and emails in advance of him re-joining the board if that is ever being considered again. He said yes, definitely.
That's all I can tell you.
I forget who did the last pump but it was in early June and the pps went from $0.83 to $1.45. Not bad. We need another one of those right about now.
It is such a pleasure (and a relief and a reassurance) to read your intelligent, well-written, and knowledgeable posts--and on a recurring, regular basis. It is mainly because of your posts, that i stay calm and patient, confident in the rewards to come. Thank you Zinc, and please keep those educational posts coming! Both for us Longs and the Newbies!
What, exactly, leads you to think so?
You mean you think they are moving their offices to this building instead of to the excessive, $20,000 a month digs we heard about recently?
I get what you are saying AND i'm trying to stay optimistic. I've seen bad situations turn around before. At least they own real assets. Also the price has shot up previously from promotions. (I don't know if HPGS was involved in the promotions).
Just as i said. they know a lot about HPGS and they were ok about getting shares as part of their payment. that is a good sign imo.
Optimistic observation: the fact that Huber accepted 2,000,000 HPGS shares as part of non-refundable deposit indicates their expectation that those shares will increase in value.
Looking on the bright side: company money not spent, less debt.
Of course natural gas is down now. So is oil. But not for long! Lots of cars and trucks are converting to natural gas!
Thanks for the info! I'm looking forward to the bounce. HPGS has made good money for me twice in recent history and i feel confident that it will do so again. Both times were helped by at least one penny newsletter but i don't know if HPGS paid them.
What is RSI please?
