If big off-shore money decides to move out of US t-bills, then the US dollar should begin to fall. Maybe then gold will finally turn and head towards $ 1000/ounce once again.

hello pantherj
here's something to think about. if all the shares of CMKX have always been accounted for at CMKX's transfer agent First Global. then why was Deli brokering deals for Urbie to cover an open position ? the books couldn't have been balanced at the transfer agent if as rumoured Urbie was short 50 billion shares. makes me wonder about the transfer agents numbers.

then I guess you better come north and show us a better way to gain funding for CDN junior exploration companies. while you're at it maybe you could find us some banks that will lend for junior exploration .everyone in the industry here in Canada will be glad to know that we've been doing it the wrong way for the past hundred years or so.
trade15

actually for small exploration companies the only way they can raise capital is through the selling of shares. either thru private placements or other financing methods. so unlimited shorting would be exremely destructive to companies who have to rely on those methods of funding.

depends if the touts were actually paid for their pumping. if they were compensated with shares or cash for their activity and didn't inform by disclaimer , then people have a right to blame them for their loss. my guess is that many of the touts were paid well for their activities.

Some CDN companies such as WGF also list on the OTC to allow easier access for US investors. Many US brokerages either don't allow or are very costly for their customers to buy on the CDN exchanges.

" It looks like ole JE rolled on some bigger sharks..Mabe even whales...
What makes you think that? It may be the case, but if it is, those "bigger sharks" have nothing to do with CMKX. "
CMKX wasn't the first company that Edwards and crew did their number on. But it was the first company that got away on them and didn't fade away like expected. Bigger fish then Edwards will most likely be named before this is all over. Their game is a great deal more elaborate than just dumping stock that's not yet free trading. What makes this episode really interesting is that the transfer agent was also involved and named in the proceedings.

I couldn't figure what looked so bad about the GXS.V chart. Selling half of my GXS.V in the high $ 4.00's last week doesn't look so good now. But at the time close to 20 times up was too good to give back.

I thought the conversation was about GXS.V. GXS is hot right now and will be for a while. But like all stocks CDN resource plays move with hype but also have potential, of being the real thing.

" But that one is a good example of hype pushing it up and when profits are taken it has continued to drop slowly without a bounce "
The reason it's been running so hard is it could turn out to be a mineable deposit. The management has done it the right way . I've owned it since the last name change in 2004 and the O/S is still below 20 million shares. The capital raised has been used for exploration not for high price promotions.

One reason that I dislike Frizzy and West so much is that they didn't put a stop to Delidogs activities early on. I believe that there was much more to Delidog's wheeling and dealing then just fleecing the shareholders for his own gain.
trade15
pantherj
I'm certainly no fan of Frizzy or Kevin West. I tend to agree with you that Frizzy and West were clueless early on. They were used as pawns to deflect attention from the ringleaders of this scam. Urban is most definitely a hustler and always has been. But he doesn't have the brains to be the mastermind of this sordid saga. CMKX isn't the first company that this group has fleeced, but it may have been the largest dollar value they have grabbed. The early years of CMKX will be the years that will be the most enlightening as to what really transpired with this scam.

" Gosh, jimmy, I don't know. Maybe, just maybe, they could have gone to the TA's records and identified the share holders in the time that takes the computer to spit out the names!"
Could be a problem if the transfer agents books have been cooked. Is it possible ? Pretty rare to see a transfer agent implicated and listed in the charges. I wonder what else could be uncovered before this is all over ?

Have I ever posted that Urbie is innocent in this whole sordid mess ? But there is more to this story then we have been privy to so far. And in my opinion Frizzy and West aren't the white knights that some believe.
trade15
nufced
Urbie's most definitely a small time scammer, but he's also not very sharp. At that time he needed a shell company very badly, since no CDN exchange would ever allow him to list after the Petro Plus fiasco. He would have made a deal with the devil to get a listing anywhere. There's much more to this story than Frizzy and West have uncovered so far.
trade15
Investorman
Urbie certainly seems to have become a party to the dumping in 2004 ,there's no doubt about that. But at the time when Urbie was getting fleeced and was alerted to Edwards activities. Someone privy to the Casavant family discussions in Sask. at that time, told me that actions were going to be taken . Urbie certainly isn't the brightest bulb on the tree , but he's got quite the temper and wanted to get even at that time. I'm waiting around to see if he actually had the discipline to follow through and nail Edwards.
trade15
Investorman
There's no doubt that Urbie was a drunken dope and a small time scammer. But before 2004 he was on the wrong end of the fleecing when it came to CMKX. Other then a little slot machine change that Edwards threw his way , Urbie and family were next to bankrupt. The options on claims that he announced in 2003 ended up being paid over a period of time by small installments as any new money came in. I suspect from the sale of certs to residents of Sask. and Alberta , hence the unregistered stock allegations.

Edwards was a busy little beaver, no doubt about that. But he and the crew got sloppy and went a lot farther than just dumping restricted stock in 2003. The trading volumes never added up during that period of time.
trade15
jb1967lbk
Maybe they should start with the transfer agents ledger. Seems like a great place to start since the transfer agent has been implicated in this sordid saga. Prior to 2004, Edwards and crew ran the show and they dumped paper on the market that didn't even exist. It's rare to find a corrupt transfer agent to this extent , but it sure opens up the doors to a lot of possibilities.

" I just wish I sold my shares at .001 I had to work that day didn't have my sell order in would have sold all my shares at that price :( and been out with my profit. "
There was actually a three day window to sell at the top during the CMKX pump. I was concerned about how easy it would be to unload shares at the ask so I moved out half the first day and another 25% the following day .The last 15 % was hard to move once the news broke.
trade15
jb1967lbk
It would have been quite easy for Edwards and crew to have flooded the market early on with phantom shares without anyone being the wiser. If you had the transfer agent fudging the ledger you would have the perfect scam. I suspect the plan in 2002 and early 2003 was to have massive dumping of shares while Casavants were holding restricted stock. They would have finished the company off if it hadn't been for the davidjmar episode. Urbie was too drunk and stupid to realize what was going on. The company would have gone under and they would have been free and clear if it hadn't been for the closet episode.
