Bravo. Been saying that for a while now. His shelf life has expired. Need a new face for the next leg up. He’s done a great job now hand off the baton and let’s finish the job.
Murphy’s Law was invoked. Look out below.
From the sava message board. Seems their CEO is inferring a partnership is imminent within a few months. Missling is getting beat at every turn now. Have to step up now and show an interim look at Alzheimer’s data. All bets are off.
I hope you are right about that. It would help explain the delay and perhaps restore confidence.
I agree with that. Better to come with something huge than bits and pieces and partial data. Wait and when you do bring something out make sure it’s complete and indisputable.
Missling has a pattern of over promising and under delivering which has made this stock a target of short attacks forever. For someone with a financial background he should know better. He keeps pushing it all back and there is a rising tide of competition that seems acutely motivated to get their drugs to market first. Don’t know if I trust his judgement anymore. The true believers are blind to his short comings which may wind up being our downfall. Where is the peer reviewed paper on PDD we were promised months ago? When he says it’s coming and it doesn’t it creates doubt in an area of drug development where doubt is the rule rather than the exception. Maybe that’s the reason we lack support. I see it as a clear possibility.
It appears so. Just read Fuersteins takedown of SAVA and his critique of ANVS. Not a bad word about Anavex. Seems things have changed since Cramer said stick with it.
Missling has done a spectacular job to this point but, I’m thinking maybe it’s time for him to find a hand picked replacement and become the man behind the curtain. Every CEO has a shelf life. His job in front of the cameras is done. Keep doing what he’s doing but find a strong personality with market saavy to take us to the next level. Chairman of the board has a nice ring to it.
If you can’t see by now how threatening this company is to Wall Street you are blind. Opposite reactions to news like this are there to discourage people so the thieves can buy their shares. This is common with us now. Every day we get closer to the day they lose control. Talk about burning shorts. Our day will come and every time this happens it makes me more certain of it.
Been in this stock since it was trading at a quarter on the OTC six years ago. Hope that answers your question. We are up against it here and need to compete more aggressively. A strong partner for one indication would be great news for a lot of reasons but a major one would be the market makers they-bring with them. No one has our back here and we see it almost every day. Would be a welcome change.
Missling will never deliver an un anticipated news release of any consequence. Everything he has done so far has been forecasted then delayed to the point that any momentum it might have generated is never sustained. Frankly given the track record he has I think the stock is trading higher than it should be. It’s time to be aggressive and I don’t think he has it in him. You can be aggressive without being a PT Barnum like our competitions leadership. Time to disrupt things and move the market our way. I’m always hopeful but never expect it due to his track record.
Agree completely. Just because we have the goods doesn’t mean jack when dealing with a corrupt FDA and the big $$$ Pharma s that grease them. We have to show them something so huge regarding our Alzheimer’s data that it cannot be ignored and do it now while the bright light is shining our way. We can’t allow this train to be derailed. Too many people’s lives depend on it.
Something has to give here. I can feel it. Missling so far has been fairly predictable but I get the feeling that when one of these giant Pharma companies makes a move on us he will go to scorched earth to prevent a takeover. It’s the next to last scene in the Good the Bad and the Ugly where Lee Van Cleef, Clint , and Eli Wallach are staring at each other in a circle and the camera keeps panning around to see who draws first. Can’t wait!
Agreed. The scope of how much Anavex will change the current CNS landscape is unfolding and scaring some powerful people. I hope we release interim results from the Alzheimer’s trial which supports the data from the PDD dementia trial. Will give a glimpse of what’s to come. That will get us to safe harbor in my opinion.
I have not seen a stock trade like this before and I believe I know the reason why. Everyone has so much to lose if Anavex succeeds. And by everyone I’m talking big Pharma, institutional investors, hedge funds, etc. We have a drug that will replace a large number of highly profitable drugs and in turn significantly reduce profits. The institutions, hedgies, etc are heavily invested in these companies and there’s only so much Anavex to go around. Missling is filling the lake behind the damn. Everyday the pressure builds and one day the damn will break. It has become clear that the damn will only break when the Alzheimer’s data is released. The need is so strong and the market so big that they can’t suppress it like Rett or Parkinson’s. If SAVA had released the Parkinsons data instead of us, their stock would have bumped up over $150. No question. I read a comment on another board where a poster stated that the reason AVXL gets hammered after good news is that the market doesn’t believe Missling and he has no credibility. I think it’s exactly the opposite. They can see the train coming now and can only hope to slow it down. So let them mess with us while they still can. Someday soon the damn will break and all the BS will stop.
Good for you. His fiduciary responsibility is to us. Time to stop the BS and put up or shut up. If he doesn’t do something positive soon even his true believers will be disillusioned. Maybe he has the goods. We’ ll see.
So many people on this board have been waiting and putting forth future scenarios of what may and may not be. I’m really really tired of waiting for Gadot so I’m checking out for awhile. All I know is every time I ignore my granddaughter’s fishing pole she gets a bite, so I stopped paying as much attention. Let’s hope that strategy works here.
I have been critical of Missling lately because of the delays but after watching his last presentations I believe he is feeling the immense pressure to deliver the good news to so many waiting ears. I think he realizes now everything he says gets dissected and any misstep magnified. He is bearing a heavy burden knowing that lives will be lost while he plots a course to approval in as little time as possible. It’s not his fault, but I think it probably haunts him somewhat. It has to be a humbling experience if indeed we have what I think we do. Hopefully for those with the most to lose it comes quickly.
Ah yes , Heir Missling the master of disappointment. It always amuses me when people think he’s going to surprise us with something. He’s German through and through. It’s like expecting him to host Saturday Night Live. He’s a plodder who is horrible at meeting deadlines he himself projects. There are only two possible outcomes here. Either the data is spectacular and we launch, or it disappoints and I’m through with Anavex and the Dr. Don’t look now Doc but those companies in the rear view mirror are closer than they appear.
Watching this get beat up I feel like Ali in round 7 of the Foreman fight. Taking the heavy body shots but waving Foreman back in and whispering in his ear , “Is that all you got?” Feeling the fury knowing what was coming in the next round. When it’s time the end will come quickly and without question. It will be over in a heartbeat. Arms raised , triumphant , shocking the world. We will see...
I get where you’re coming from and Missling has not handled the delivery of news/ data very well inviting ridicule. However, he has to be painfully aware of his fiduciary status as CEO of Anavex. By his actions he has painted a giant bullseye on himself and I just can bring myself to believe he could be that stupid to deliver anything but positive results. If he doesn’t its suicide for him and the board. I must say I resent the board culture of worshipping him. Bernie Madoff died today. Remember HIM?
I agree. Too much promised and not enough delivered. Someone needs to ask some very tough questions at the shareholders meeting. Don’t need the orchestrated questions, just some unscripted for questions that deserve real answers with a real timeline that doesn’t get delayed 4 times. He has been given too much leeway in my opinion. It’s not his company it’s our company. Time to level with the shareholders Chris.
I find myself increasingly frustrated with the way Missling handles news but thinking about the overall scenario points strongly to a positive outcome. He has painted himself into a corner and must deliver the goods or he stands to lose his job and his reputation not to mention the financial loss. I believe he desperately wants to release information but knows that this time there can be no loose ends. The anticipation he has created makes it a certainty that anything less than fantastic proven data will be met with ridicule and hammer the stock price. We are at the crossroads , ready to take a quantum leap upwards and there is no turning back. That being said I have seen and unfortunately at times been a part of situations such as this that went South. No guarantees, but logic says we got this.
I was wondering the same thing. My gut feeling is that Missling has privately confirmed to the larger investors that news is still coming this quarter. Not revealing anything other than timing, and they are drawing their own conclusions by reacting in a cautiously optimistic way. James
I wrote an email about a week ago to IR . Told them I understood that results take time to process, but their results are constantly later than indicated by management to the extend that it is now a trend that undermines confidence. My suggestion was to purposely enhance time frames when speaking publicly. It is best to under promise and over deliver instead of the opposite. Back expectations off and relax . Meyer Lansky consistently did this and kept his underworld partners begging to do business with him and Luciano. He may have been a gangster but he thoroughly understood human nature.
Ever since this stock went on Nasdaq years ago it has traded like someone has their foot on its throat. Compare the recent run of SAVA to well over $100 on reworked data to AVXL’s data and current pipeline. We’ve been pulling this anchor for some time, but I believe that’s about to change. When it does and the pendulum flips we could see a huge spike in my opinion. As someone who ran a public company for many years I know the headwinds and back room deals by MM’s that affect companies and serve to control the stock price. I can feel it coming.....
