Goodbye CYGX board. Going to attempt Whitney via the Mountaineer's Route. Biggest mountaineering trip of my life, highest altitude too. Be back Tuesday if all goes well. Cheers!
PPHM To appear on CNBC at 3:00ET today? just a rumor?
Yeah, Im pretty disappointed with this. They just paid off the last notes early, why issue more like this. Such a low conversion rate! When do we get to hear about sickle cell initiation? Kuvan submission? Anything good...
Yes, very nice day indeed. BMRN not doing so well last couple days, but I think its just temporary.

Nice Wawh. Glad to hear it! You can really thank bigworld because he was the one to introduce me to PPHM.
I like that.
Thanks Ellen, the date on the bottom should have given me a clue. Sorry about that one.

Is this new? I had never seen it before. Sorry if this is old info.
Speaking of geothermal
my house in Washington is heated and cooled using a network of heat transfer pipes running about 10 feet under our acre of land. At the time of construction, there was a great incentive plan to have geothermal put in and it drastically decreased our power bill. We moved from a small house to one that was over three times the size and our power bills actually dropped. During the winter, the geothermal is efficient enough that we only have to turn on our furnace a few days (usually when it drops below freezing), and during the summer it cools the entire house to a comfortable 72 degrees even when some days get above 100 (we have no backup air conditioning). The system was a bit expensive to install, but we calculated that it would only take a few years to pay itself off.
Must have gotten lost in Seattle...
Thanks for this. eom
I am just going off what yahoo finance is saying in its chart. Check it out:
http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=CYGX.OB
Those are the numbers and they dont add up, in fact they never do when I check them. Look at the daily chart and see the volume...
wow, thanks a lot ghmm. good information.
Yes I remember this. So why didn't they just say it was University of Texas in todays PR? Kinda weird. Oh well, nice day for CYGX anyway.
Question about volume for anyone:
I think I might have brought this up before, but why doesn't the volume (218,177) match the amount of shares traded if you look at each individual trade? Like today, even if you just add up the four largest trades, the volume is 660,508. Just doesnt make sense to me. The nice thing is that there were 4 trades over 100,000 shares today which is definitely a good thing.
You are probably right. I wish I could be at that conference.
Great news.
I think the best part is the conference they now get to present at and share this wonderful data.
A little disappointed with the details. For such wonderful news, it was awfully short and vague. Like this sentence:
"The lethal challenge testing was conducted by recognized collaborators in the field under a sponsored research agreement with the Company."
It's so nondescript that it's funny. Why be so secretive?...
okay okay, I admit it. Your psychic powers are strong indeed.
Do you seriously know about a shipment that happened last year that might not have been paid for at the cutoff time, or are you just guessing? Not doubting you, I just sometimes struggle to decipher between remarks made on speculation vs remarks based on true knowledge.
or three months late. But still very nice to see

I just wanted to post the whole release so all could read it. I like it, sounds good. Thanks to Paulness and this pr, in five minutes my mood went from "dang I hate my CYGX investment" to "man, I cant wait to get to Houston so I can speak with MS to get a job at this amazing startup called CYGX."
Solid.
CytoGenix Adds DNA Purification Expert to Scientific Advisory Board
Houston, TX (April 2, 2007) CytoGenix, Inc. (CYGX.OB) announced today that Richard Willson, Ph.D. has agreed to join the Company's Scientific Advisory Board. Dr. Wilson is a Professor in the Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Houston. Professor Willson brings to the SAB a vast knowledge base in the area of biomolecular recognition as it applies to separation technology and molecular diagnostics. More information on his work and accomplishments may be found at www.chee.uh.edu/faculty/willson.
Malcolm Skolnick, Chairman and CEO of CytoGenix stated "Dr. Willson is capable of making an immediate, substantive contribution to the Company's goal of commercialization of synDNA™. Dr. Willson's expertise in DNA purification strategies and nanostructured adsorbents will assist CytoGenix in addressing key issues in the scale-up technology necessary for commercial-scale synDNA™ production. We are delighted to have Dr. Willson join our SAB."
Dr. Willson stated, "I am excited to be working with CytoGenix to bring synDNA™ into the realm of commercial scale manufacturing. This novel drug substance represents an opportunity to develop many new products with distinct advantages over existing plasmid-based technology."
CytoGenix, Inc. is a Houston-based biopharmaceutical company that develops and markets innovative products and services based on its proprietary synDNATM production and ssDNA expression technologies. The company has developed a breakthrough cell-free process for large-scale production of high purity DNA that can be made faster and cleaner than production using traditional fermentation methods and has developed a novel expression vector that enables production of ssDNA sequences inside a cell. CytoGenix currently holds 11 granted patents and about 36 international or US pending patent applications claiming methods and materials in connection with these platform technologies.
Bless you for being so positive. I admit, sadly in a way, that reading your posts does help me feel better about my investment. Yup, emotions affect me and I am not as rock solid as I would like. I always wanted to be a robot trader, no emotion, just clear mathematical and methodical trading... but that is harder than I could have ever imagined.
Im with you. Getting a little nervous for sure... Im out if that building is not built. Although the news about the new PhD on board is good to hear.
Interesting that they did not announce the sickle cell trial last month as they said they were. Oh well, delay is not a stranger at biotechland.
What do you all think of this number? I actually say it's pretty good for the first year of synDNA sales. Last year everyone was always writing "show me the $$$"... well, here it is. Cytogenix has finally made some money, people should be very happy. How is the market going to respond to it? I realize that the amount is smaller than could have been wished for, but it is still good.
I think maybe you have it backwards. Cytogenix is using GE reagents, not the other way around. We pay for the reagents, the reagents make synDNA, the synDNA makes Cytogenix money. That's the idea.
"The Company is actively pursuing legal action against various parties involved
in the posting of defamatory comments about the Company and several of its
officers on public investor chat-room websites. A settlement proposal was
completed with one of the parties who has published an apology on Investor's Hub
(www.investorshub.com)"
Are they still pursuing people? There are more than one? wow
"Many of the Company's competitors and potential competitors have substantially
greater product development capabilities and financial, scientific,
manufacturing, managerial and human resources than the Company. There can be no
assurance that research and development by others will not render the Company's
products, or the products developed by corporate partners using its licensed
technologies obsolete, or non-competitive, or that any product the Company or
its corporate partners develop will be preferred to any existing or newly
developed technologies. In addition, there can be no assurance that the
Company's competitors will not develop safer, more effective or less costly
cardiovascular therapies, gene delivery systems, gene therapeutics, non-gene
therapies, or other therapies, achieve superior patent protection or obtain
regulatory approval of product commercialization earlier than the Company, any
of which could have a material adverse effect on its business, financial
condition or results of operations."
Worst paragraph in the whole thing.
{edit} wait... I found some other pretty bad ones too....
"The Company signed an earnest money contract with GSL Constructors, Ltd. to
design and build the project located in the Westchase District of Houston. The
contract is for 2.274 acres of land together with a facility. The Company has
engaged the services of Luwa USA to design and construct the cGMP portion of the
new 20,000 sq ft facility. Groundbreaking for this project is anticipated to
occur in 2007 subject to financing."
I dont like the sound of that. They better have enough to build that building!
"GEHC will provide the Company with DNA production reagents for use in
the manufacture of vaccines and therapeutic compounds. The Company is in the
process of negotiating with GEHC to renew and extend the Agreement"
Interesting that they would do this if they didnt think they needed it for customers...
I wish those were Maui Jim's, but unfortunately mine are just $19 cheapos. At least they block UV and I dont have to worry if I lose them.
Check out wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Septic_shock
it's not the ultimate authority, but it has a good summary.
I am really sorry to hear that gdepc. Ill pray she gets better soon.
News tomorrow? Should be if they are still going to be announcing sickle cell trial initiation this month. Let's see...
OT: nc4s. I have been looking for ways to report to yahoo that you have been wrongfully accused. So far I have not found anywhere where you can dispute claims, etc. If I find anything I'll let you know, good luck. Sorry that happened to you.
tresmiserables2 = nc4s
his messages are still there
OT: the wawh, I totally agree. That is actually what most of the papers I read mentioned. They did tests with different chelators and antioxidants that could cross the BBB to see how it affected mice brains that were overloaded with iron. I think the general idea is that iron is a strong oxidant and unless it is protected against it can cause a lot of damage over time. Just like any oxidant. I think iron is an interesting/important nutrient to focus on because of the clear trends in women/men, vegetarians/carnivores, and thin/obese people. But you are right, it's not just "iron is bad", but rather iron is one of the many oxidants that can harm our bodies (induce aging).
