Well I wouldn't say big trouble as they have the LOC which I'd prefer to be used for ramp up not maintains their current position. It's alays a risk investing in tech companies, look at QD Vision who everyone thought was a leader and now Nanoco who still haven't commercially sold much product. The industry is very young and there is lots of jockeying for position and a major market forming.
Maybe they should move to Nanoco almost hitting all time low and confidence almost lost with their CEO.Glad I put my money in here instead of there a few months ago.Example of a company who up listed without commercial sales and revenues to support day to day operations and now are paying the price.
Private investors only on OTC and why Quantum needs to get off this exchange sooner than later.I am sure we will see contracts and revenues assist the move forward but organically here is hard with MMs controlling the SP direction most of the time.
Speculation at best, stick to facts.Commercial contracts for supply and revenues next ,if not then it won't matter what anyone speculates.Check out Nanoco without any commercial sales of note, they up listed without major supply contracts and have lost considerable value in doing so.Quantum is doing it the right way in my opinion and the reversal may or may not be minimal depending on contracts ,revenues and where private investors take this.
Not worried about others comments as I've spent the time doing my own investigation into Quantum.A message board is for discussion and not for agendas as some would use it so I'm not swayed by comments one way or the other.
Here here ! Good to hear some voices of reason amongst the panic.Cooler heads will prevail and reasonable thoughts will thereafter enter once people their head around it.It's interesting to watch how people can be herded much like cows or start a stampede on panic. We are much smarter than that now aren't we ?
Everyone is talking what if's.As has been said it's contracts or bust, either you believe they will be successful in short or you don't.It seems that is the bet on most startups and why with any stock there are always risks.I would vote against the A/S not being reduced "IF" they do a reverse split. If we vote against a reverse then we see how we make out here on the OTC as contracts and revenues come in.Problem is there are no institutional investors looking at OTC stocks so shate price growth would have to come from private investors .I think the increase in the authorized will still be needed at some point soon regardless.
All one needs to do is see how many shares the board members hold.Next to little in comparison to the OS.They have little to no voting power,it's not really in their hands .If they need our vote it will be if they show us where they are creating value for us aND if they secure contracts and revenues.Jamis is correct that they would need to reduce the AS accordingly if they reverse and all is well.Just my opinions
Quite frankly none of this discussion matters if Quantum doesn't secure commercial contracts and start creating revenues.A talk of a reverse ,up list or AS increase means zero at this point.I invested because I believe they are close to commercial production ,meaning contracts sales and revenues.I think Jamis has made some very valid points and I am quite certain the largest shareholders are not voting for this unless they see value in it.Follow their lead I would say.
Short cited investors will be missing big gains.
Has there ever been a third party evaluate and comment before today ? I looked at the past press releases and haven't seen that.So my opinion is that this is a first for Quantum and coming from the president of a large worldwide company in Kisco adds a lot of fuel to this story.Materials "equal or better" to the materials in the market is more than encouraging as there is a select few companies making material and an even more select who can mass produce it.I have been short term here so all this news is very encouraging as well as the heady increase from the low 7s and 8s.Any idea from the longs what took this to .40 plus at its highs ? I would like to see more coverage from the company via social media and or news media if possible now that they are becoming more open about the situation behind the scenes.
Our plan remains to begin shipping commercial quantities of quantum dots in the first part of 2017.”
Commercial quantities instead of sample sales, meaning there should be a supply contract very soon in order to fulfill these commercial sales.Nice jump from the 7-8 range I bought, added more today on the news.
To add.It was ND that Quantum received the 225k from not Kisco. Two seperate entities fore sure.EOS.
How do some people totally ignore the facts ? These are two different companies and the PRs and statements clearly define this.Creating something for discussion which is not even factual doesn't do anything but cause disruption here as witnessed on many occasions over the year I have been reading this board.I'm not saying you can't put your understanding of the situation out but in this case its quite clear and the facts point it out so no use chasing it anymore in my opinion.
I think there is to much overthinking going on this message board sometimes. As I just posted the two companies are seperate partnerships with Kisco acting like a intermediary. It sounded like to me they evaluate the material before sending it to their contacts which is great to hear. They are validating it before sending on ,sort of like a secondary quality control. It would be interesting to find out who else Kisco works with worldwide that could also be one of those end "customers"
What are you talking about ??They have been with Kisco for awhile, look it up.Seperatly they have been working with ND which has also been reported by an 8k and in interviews by Sri.Kisco is a distributor and rep for Quantum and ND is probably one of their contacts among many.Didnt you sell awhile ago ? Not to late to get back in at a cheap SP still.
Quantum Materials will be participating at the Society for Information Display (SID) ‘Display Week 2016 International Symposium, Seminar and Exhibition’ from May 22-May 27, 2016 at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco, California. Quantum Materials will be exhibiting in partnership with Uniglobe Kisco Inc. (www.uniglobe-kisco.com) at Booth 1342 and Mr. Squires will be participating in a CMO panel discussion on Wednesday morning at 8:30am in Room 123.
“We value our relationship with Kisco and look forward to working with them at DisplayWeek to continue growing the current customer partnerships they have facilitated and build upon the momentum we are developing as a team,” Mr. Squires concluded.
an Marcos, TX – August 16, 2016 – Leading North American quantum dot manufacturer Quantum Materials Corp. (OTCQB:QTMM) today announced that the Company is continuing work with a leading optical film manufacturer, building upon a relationship which originated under an initial joint development agreement.
GREAT PR!
Jamis your comment "validation " is exactly what I was thinking when I read the PR.The next step should be contracts for supply and this indicates they have resolved the issues Sri originally stated. The other aspect was this comment "it is shipping high performance red and green cadmium-free quantum dot sample sets to display film manufacturers.
FILM MANUFACTURERS plural. So more than one manufacturer.Kisco is a worldwide corporation from the looks of their site and will be a great distribution partner for Quantum. The fact they have independently tested the materisls and found them to be beyond what's currently out there tells me they must have tested other companies samples to say that.
Another quote that was strongly worded was
"Our materials, combined with the efficiency and scalability of our continuous flow production technology, makes us uniquely situated to meet the demand regardless of how fast it grows.”
All in all grea news and "validation "
Holidays = crickets or in this case turkey = crickets. You seem to contradict yourself with your statement of wanting to buy at 2 to 3 cents and now buying at almost 4-5 X that to only then sell.If you bought it just now then that would mean you believe this is going higher not lower as your intention is to sell in short ?Sorry ,but very confusing what your stance is.I think it would behoove you to consider with the QDVISION sale that Quantum is quite undervalued to it's peers and only a matter of time till the market figures it out.A bit of company news while this QDVISION sale news is hitting the market and this could pop.A contract or two would suit me fine.
It's amazing what a little buying spree did to the share price today. It seems most investors are holding tight to see what comes from their ongoing endeavors.I was happy that that piece of news on QDV came out as it already supports my short target range valuation for Quantum pre contracts or major revenues.I liked Jamis take on sales but was just wondering how he came to the material price and costs to produce ,I'm guessing that is the discount factor used for costs ? JAmis? Anyone ?
Thanks Jamis. That market news will be good for Quantum when it's official. It will somewhat give new investors the potential market value of a quantum dot company based on this sale which is roughly 3 X the current market cap here today.Like you said and with that in mind what is a Quantum dot company with contracts and sales worth ? Would like to hear some update since Sri's shareholder letter and the Epstein interview.Feeling this is about to explode. ( hope I can use that wording )
Totally agree with your assessment.
I hope we hear this news publicly as it will benefit Quantums market valuation.
Perhaps they pay Nanosys for court case to date and all is good seeing they currently work with Samsung licensing them their tech for their production process. That way they have removed QDVision as a competitor and removed the ability for anyone to make edge lit quantum dot tvs anymore. It seems that tech was likely going to die anyways.A little news or update on partner status for Quantum would be nice about now and help them get that valuation north of 70 million qdvision got by way of sale to Samsung
In your opinion with this news what kind of valuation would you put on Quantum if it was for sale. Not that I want it to sell at all because I think the upside could be "yuge" :)
You sound like you have a business degree and perhaps could offer that comment. Thanks!
It's late in the day but saw this on another site I follow.
Citing its own sources, thematic resource OLED-Info reported that Samsung plans to acquire the company QD Vision, which specializes in technology development quantum dots used in LCD panels.
"As stated, the purchase cost Samsung a $ 70 million. For a relatively small fee, the South Korean manufacturer will be able to accelerate its own development in this area. As we recently reported, Samsung Electronics expects to start producing televisions QLED in 2019.
Looks like the rumors are true then and one less player in the field. If Samsung wanted to purchase Quantum as well ,any guesses to the offering price ? Maybe just the rights to display tech only would be fine by me as that area seems ultracompetitive, just leave the rest of the sub markets off the table !
Thanks !
Thanks tbc, now that's what it's all about ! Fantastic insight into Samsung operations.Looks like a lot of effort in manpower and equipment to make their quantum dots, their cost must be pretty high.
I suggest you are wrong with those comments.CES is for the public and that's about it.There is only one cad free TV on the market right now (Samsung)which should tell you something. It's hard to make this stuff obviously and it's all about contracts for Quantum .It's up to their film partners to produce the film not Quantum. All they have to do to be a success is to create high quality cad free materials in quantities.I believe that's what Sri is suggesting they are doing.JMHO
OK.new topic cause everything has been wiped on the last one.Re reading Sri's last interview this was the best part for me.
To the extent that you believe the valuation of QMC is attractive, why should readers consider investing now? Why not wait for commercial purchase orders?
"As evidenced by major TV manufacturers beginning to offer QD-enhanced model lines, QDs have arrived, but the market is wide open. If we are at a tipping point in QDs, then waiting for a major de-risking event like a purchase order could mean missing out on a large move in the share price. It's that simple. We're confident that our team can provide QDs of the highest quality, in the volumes necessary, for wholesale commercial introduction.
It's probable that the current selling volume is from traders who scooped the cheap shares under .10 ?? and are making a small profit at this price.I'm not interested in that even though my screen is green . I think this company is closing in on news that could send this skyrocketing.I'm not sure where most investors average is but if it's in this area or higher then I'm sure they will wait it out as well.
Perhaps the company will need little of the funding if they get contracts and start generating revenues.Still waiting to see what comes of the comments from the Chinese investors site about a 10% investment in QMC.They get that and generate modest revenues to start and the fear mongering won't mean much of anything.J45 post on the legal team was interesting to note as they are definitely big league .
It would be nice to get that sentiment out to the market somehow.I had a friend in the financing field review it as well and he thought it was a very good deal for a company in their current position. It's pretty obvious after this election that social media is a powerful tool.Does anyone know who handles Quantums social media accounts ?
Spell checking not enabled.Yes "peek " is correct but "peak" would be good as in ,"peak" performance of Quantums materials in a film based product. That would be a good press release !!I like these green closes, hope we have more of them ahead !
J45 Thanks for breaking it down for the average layman. It's great having someone here who can disseminate these filings for us all and its very much appreciated. No more fear of not being able to keep the lights on for the next few years. It's looking real good on the surface, wish we could peak below the hood and see what's cooking.
Undervalued for sure ! Any day could be the day this flips on news of a deal with their partners for commercial supply. It's getting close to the timelines they stated so I am anticipating a trickle of news items or articles and filings leading up to that event.I believe after re-reading Sri's last interview that he's leaving us some clues to how close we are and that he thinks success is inevitable. He has eyes on the ground and would surely know whether this is going to get traction soon or not.I got nothing but good vibes from reading that piece and it reassured my decision for sure.Thankfully I didn't get into Nanoco which has been falling steadily the past few months.I thought I would hedge my bets and buy them too but after reading a lot about about scaling, which is the main factor to production cost I went with Quantum whom I believe is the only one who can scale to 100s of 1000s of kilos at the most economical price.Guess we will see if I am right !!
"UHD with HDR is highly compelling. We see quantum dots as the key enabling technology for UHD. Quantum-dot TVs deliver a better experience with more of the features that consumers care most about, like high peak luminance and wide color gamut, at a much lower cost than the alternatives. This is because quantum-dot technology is able to leverage all of the existing LCD capex—more than $180 billion—without requiring any changes to the manufacturing process. This makes it very easy to deploy at mainstream scale, so we see quantum dots playing a significant role in UHD TV as the market takes off"
Exactly why this technology is about to kick it !
Jeff Yurek quote
Good info ! thanks
Company interpreter to deal with the Chinese partners ? Update soon on that front ?
I hear frustration comments that come from delays from some posters. If Nanosys makes cadmium free dots that meet film maKers specifications then why aren't they directly selling cad free film at the moment.I read that Samsung licensed some of their technology but it couldn't be for cad free as I'm sure Nanosys would have exploited that for themselves.Again Samsung does not sell its film so they are the only cad free film product in the market.Lots of room for QUANTUM to enter it with multiple film producers. Why some are attacking Sri is sort of beyond me .He is the guy running SID and has a pretty good bio. He's only been the CEO for a short time as well and it seems he is very aggressive in getting things done.I guess you either think he is a liar or telling the truth,if you think he's lying then there not much reason to wait it out.Play it how you will folks as its your money.
As a new investor not jaded by the wait some have had I think you need to go more with my post as to what other option manufacturers had to go cadmium free.Nanosys or Nanoco does not offer a cadmium free film either and tv manufacturers where forced to use cadmium products to get in the game.Samsung isn't stupid ,they are not going to sell the limited film they can make to other TV manufacturers and compete against themselves. If they get a film out in the next few months Quantum will get a share of the growing demand.Again, Sri's interview was very enlightening to me and it seemed they are a lot further ahead to me than the last shareholder letter he put out.Just my options. Thanks
As far as cadmium free film there hasn't been any options to date.Samsung doesn't sell their film to other manufacturers so they were forced to buy cadmium based film in order to get into the market. In my opinion the door is wide open for Quantum to get their foot in the door.Sri sounded pretty confident in that interview that they would get a good chunk of market share.I am looking not only at displays for revenues but beyond that as he discussed for future uses of quantum dots. This is a long term hold for me based on quantum dots many uses and adding when I can.
