IMO he is clearly covering his ass because he was wrong. The mythical Lugee Li has turned into the medium sized foreign company, Eontec. “Get in now, this one is about to pop” has been reworded to “…this long term position”. The tone of his messages have changed, they much simpler and plainer, like he no longer has an editor.
Spin, spin, spinning his way out of accountability.
[I]...Eontec's $55M investment...
UGH! For years and years the unicorns have remained unwavering that LUGEE LI personally bought into LQMT. Now Jason Bond goes and says this! For years we've heard:
Lugee Li the inventor
Lugee Li the business magnet
Lugee Li the university professor
Lugee Li the man of science
Lugee Li the bazillionaire
One poster said years ago "I am going to put a picture of Lugee Li on my living room wall and say I have all of this because of him"
Boy! A lot of confusion on this board about LQMT today! Let’s set a couple things straight.
The collaboration between Apple and LQMT has been terminated for several years. If someone wants to call the patents filed by Crucible as an ongoing effort because there is some 10 years of exclusivity left on them— that is an extreme stretch of “currently working together”. Point in fact, LQMT does not currently have any engineers left on the payroll to do any sort of collaborating. Thank you Lugee Li!
“There is no evidence of production or sales.” Let’s be clear, LQMT business is selling shares of stock and you’ve bought some of them. This is what LQMT does day to day. Anyone who thinks LQMT is involved in licensing amorphous anything is just as confused as the folks who think there is still a side play of Apple by buying this .06 dog.
Finally, nobody should be thinking that the upcoming conference call will have any accountability, explain or foreshadow any type of forward looking statement, or; present the opportunity for a common shareholder to ask a reasonable question. You will find Tony Chung nervous and not a commanding person. He will stumble and otherwise be unconvincing (quite literally) reading prepared remarks. It will be a whole lot of nuth’in.
So there are two of us in agreement that an Annual Shareholders meeting would be productive and necessary.
That being said, past Annual Shareholder meetings or even quarterly earnings conference calls have never been earth shattering, particularly revealing, nor was management ever held to atone for their past decisions. Even when presented a golden opportunity for forward looking statements, LQMT management never threw us a bone.
I think we shareholders should be demanding one; we are overdue.
When is this years Annual Shareholder Meeting and Open House?
As we used to say here: Unicorns and Rainbows
How do you know this?
<hint> Conclusive evidence would be if they bounced really high after they are shot down.
Lemme tell 'ya what you'll find:
--chatter about Lugee Li's dump of 40 million Eon shares a couple weeks ago
--a bunch of hyperbole about foldable phones and that somehow the hinge in these future phones (all non-Apple devices BTW) is manufactured by some outfit named Oppo and may be made of LQMT or LQMT's IP. Somehow Oppo is linked to the Maze...somehow.
--older chatter about amorphous titanium and amorphous stainless steel
What's funny is that Josh's moniker is labeled a "reliable source". Like, Dude.... he is a big BS'er; perhaps a bigger LQMT BS'er than Otis ever was. Are you all THAT easily fooled?
Oooooh chit…. ;0)
Let’s say a Maze company is found to be using LQMT, BMGs, or even technology or patented items created during the Crucible days. What makes anyone think this Maze company feels compelled to kick back some proceeds to LQMT? What happens if they just plain don’t?
Are the .06 a share LQMT shareholders gonna sue? Is TC gonna go over there and pound his fist on some boardroom table and demand payment? Are other Maze companies going to witness this and stand tall for their little brother from California? Is LL going to feel remorseful, like he lost his virtue?
The answer is Yes BMG is going to be used. And, Yes LQMT is not receive any $$$. And No there will not be any retribution for LQMT shareholders.
When you see Joshua’s Maze you should be seeing an impossible legal entanglement.
The Maze is better titled The Exploitation.
If you were to start a .20 Poll or even a .10 Poll today, mark me down for:
NEVER!
After LQMT changed modern medicine with CoNextions ligament repair.
And, after LQMT changed all modern string musical instruments with Martin bridge pins.
And, after LQMT changed modern wristwatches with the Omega bezel.
And......<drumroll> The Knife........
When is Bobroo gonna get paid for these revolutions???
I should have a dozen Orange Lamborghinis by now!
I would like to publicly congratulate LQMT and the management team for yet another January of absolutely no activity.
21 continuous years of going nowhere, slowly.
Great job team LQMT!!!
All the work he has been doing in China is to posture LQMT USA toward success. This is where he has his 410 million shares, this is where he will eventually focus his attention!!
How does Lugee have the time to work in China when he has already done such wonderful, exhaustive work here?
Take Connexions for example. LQMT has really taken tendon repair to the next level hasn’t it? Since it’s introduction to the market 5 years ago, it’s really hard to keep up with demand. Crazy…
And, what about Martin??? Those guitar pins really changed music haven’t they? Now that every guitarist is demanding LQMT pins to make there music fuller and richer, it’s also every pianist—and each one of them demanding to buy 88 little pieces of LQMT.
I needn't mention cutlery, we all know what that very first knife did to change the industry. Lake Forest has not been able to answer the phone since it’s introduction.
All these groundbreaking innovations coming from one material. And coming so fast, one right after another. Eyeglasses, golf clubs, automotive, tennis rackets, hearing aids, Apple pencils…there isn’t a day that goes by when LQMT is not mentioned as making yet another revolutionary step. And to think it goes as far back as WWII and the fall of Germany when deep in some bunker those Axis generals said “At least we’ll have medical.”

Remember that last Open House? Attendees couldn't go into the production area because of "safety reasons."
But the REAL reason we could not enter that area was because despite buying the new property nearly two years prior, none of the large machines had yet to have electric run to them yet. It would have been terrible for the shareholders to discover they were not plugged in and were non-functional.
But the electrical upgrade that following summer solved that issue, right? I'm sure that was money well spent and continues to be paying dividends well into the future.
Good idea! The next Open House is right around the corner.
Those are in February, no?
I would like to publicly thank Robert Cauley and team for this years dividends.
Say what you will about their leveraged position or even this years divy cut; the fact remains that ORC pays as promised. That money arrives in our accounts like clockwork. Which....Hey! does anyone know of a unique one handed clock that makes one revolution every 30 days? 'Cause I want to buy one and put it on the wall of my office.
Thanks again for a great year!
What happened to Tony Chung?
I thought his brilliant tactical financial moves as CFO earned him the desk in the presidents office that has that pool table?
Or....was he just the perfect kissbutt for the job ala Herschel Walker?
Are you guys still here????
OMG!
Bobroo also gives it a Hold rating.
As in, hold shares!
In addition to doing the math to figure how much you'd profit, you need to do the math to figure where the break even is. And, here is the important part; know at the very beginning you might need to bail out if it gets to the break even level-- and accept all the consequences.
I am very bullish on ORC. I am a believer. Even still, I would divide up that 100K amongst several dividend payers; ORC just being an outlier that pays the most.
So what if their total debt is higher than their book value???
I am confident our dividends will continue consistently for many, many years to come.
Whaaa??????
Can anyone shed any light on why the price of Bimini Capital Mgt has been creeping up?
The price of our friends at BMNM has solidly gained 15% from where it was last month.
Anyone have their ear on the ground and care to share???
Question:
How does this relate to Orchid Island Capital???
Yeah, we all think it's great that some companies like PSEC will issue DRIP shares at a 5% discount below the closing price....but we are talking about Orchid Island Capital and they do not offer a discount.
????
No! I am counting on the strong leadership of Robert Cauley and his team that have ironed this thing out, reached a point of stability and most importantly, have a sustained profitable business in place.
In many ways, if ORC were do nothing and just merely maintain from here on out; with my investment objective, I would be completely OK with that.
If over the course of time, Cauley and company were to increase their holdings, have proportionally the same numbers but numbers that are larger achieving a market valuation of $15 a share-- WOO WOO! I'd love ORC more than I knew possible!
And if somewhere along the line BMNM were to announce some type of fat, juicy special dividend....... I don't even know.......
Does anybody know of the mathematical formula to accurately compute how long it will take for a current amount of ORC shares to double in value by DRIP? Assuming the current .065 divy is sustained and the share price is reasonably stable in the $5-6 range.
On the surface it seems as though it would take about 7 years, but the compounding feature may lessen that timeline by several months???
I've never seen the 5% discount, do you have any further information?
The end of the .60 Poll is more about all the dashed opportunities than it is about share price. It was also fun for all of us who post regularly.
Nobody won the Poll but all the shareholders lost.
100% BMG business????
LQMT is a landlord and has $0 BMG revenue.
Yo' Bro--
MatterHackers is our tenant in our Lake Forest building. The terms and length of their lease was never disclosed. They have been making prompt payments of their monthly rent.
So....we are totally cool with MatterHackers.
Rainbows and unicorns forever!!!
Or.... you can make a $1 bet on the Cubs winning the World Series '21 in Las Vegas.
Nothing is going to "happen" like so many here are wishing for, but rather, it will mark a point in time.
So poignant and sorrowful a point in time I don't think anybody will be willing to to say my upcoming Monday post is off topic.
Monday August 9, 2021 is set to be the saddest day in LQMT history.
Under normal circumstances I'd say prepare yourselves LQMT investors; but I think we are all well calloused at this point.
