The count is of stockholders as of 3/12/2021. If you owned shares, VOTE. If you've acquired shares since then, you don't vote. But it doesn't matter. It's a snapshot in time. And, presumably, anyone who acquired later shares knew about the vote. Remember? Shorts talked about it non-stop.

The naked shorts are air shares. They were not ever really borrowed. They never existed. They are fake. Those shares have no vote. The number of actual shares vs. the seemingly never ending supply of shares used to manipulate this stock should be interesting. We shall see.

That's why Adam Aron was more concerned that shareholders vote. Just vote.
Either way. Although he spoke about the reasons it might be helpful to have shares in reserve for the future, I didn't feel he was over selling that point. He stressed that it's important for shareholders to vote, no matter how, so they can conduct a share count. Air shares don't get to vote. I'm sure this little exercise will prove interesting and perhaps quite helpful.

In theory, I agree with you. They’ve been able to get away with the shady dealings for so long. However, for the first time, there are thousands of retail investors working day and night to uncover and expose their criminal activity. I wonder if Ken Griffin has some flunky (or several) checking the internet every day to see what new information has been posted for all the world to see. I imagine he must be feeling the heat. At this point, they’d have to shut down every investment discussion board, Reddit, Discord, YouTube, FaceBook, etc. to stop the train.

Agreed, It doesn't matter how you vote. However, it is imperative that you vote so that your shares are counted. True share count requires that all actual shareholders vote. IMO this is the real reason for having a vote. The possible issuance of 500M shares is the bait to get everyone's attention and compel them to participate in the vote.
