A tsunami or tidal wave starts with small amplitude and a long wavelength, when it enters shallow water the amplitude increases, it is a good metaphor considering the recent flurry of scientific discovery relating to bulk metallic glass but like a tsunami, it’s over your head. Since you asked, I’m from the big apple; ya’ hayseed. I understand your frustrated because you didn’t stock up at .18. Positive speculation feels good while we wait, no one knows the future; enjoy the journey.
A nickel in two days, we got a little momentum! I did some DD this weekend, there is a lot of scientific activity relating to BMG. You barely notice a tsunami when it’s still out at sea.
The search for applications are speeding up!

A few of you guys here know the history and it’s hard to read your pragmatic assessments, obviously. How many of us new investors have you seen walk in saying “Hi guys! This is a great stock! When do we get rich?!” That’s when you guys take your time to reply “This is this and that is that.” What gives you more credibility is you do respond positively to encouraging signs; which just makes the overall message more dour as you prove to be rational people.
Apple with it’s secrecy is the itch we can’t scratch, what is their verdict on Liquid metal? I’m left to conclude the future of liquid metal rests in the interests of Apple, Materion and Engel; how important is it to them that LQMT succeeds? If they believe the time has come for the market to embrace this emerging technology then they put P.Hauck in his current position to protect their interests. If they could care less about LM because other options are available to them and are just as beneficial they will let LM Hari-Kari and Mr. Hauck made a big mistake. I believe Apple found some viable products over the last three years, when the unveiling happens LM will either thrive or poof. As Modest Mouse sings “The good times are killing me” or as Tom Waits sings “Everybody wants to know the same thing, how it’s going to end” Hold tight it will be this year.
Like it or not emotion plays a big part in PPS. While speculation is criticized, it matters. OO is fuming at Chung, I just hope Hauck is too. I speculate this: Engel or Materion call Liquidmetal “Paul Hauck please,
Hi Paul, what’s going on” Paul tells them what’s going on. “OK Paul, let me see what I can do.” Receptionist “Mr. Stiepp line 1.” Big companies put big pressure on little companies. Materion, Engel and Apple (for God sakes) can be very persuasive “Yeah, hi Tom, Chung’s gotta go, the sooner the better, bye.” Stiepp “ButButBut” “Let me put it this way, Chung and the New Engel machine won’t be in your building at the same time, make it happen; bye.”
Yes it was 2012, ugh, it was posted 4 days ago according to the search; must have been reposted, my apologies.
LQMT responds to doubts about medical applications with this:
http://info.liquidmetal.com/blog/bid/382160/Pre-screening-of-Biocompatibility-for-Liquidmetal-LM105-Alloy
but does it have tin?
I gotta go to work, thoughts?
LQMT's Marketing Manager took so many inquiry calls, dude lost his voice!
More encourageing news?
http://www.mddionline.com/article/could-liquidmetal-be-newest-miracle-material-medical
as the PPS falls and SF scratches his head for all of us thinking the same thing.
Gorgol's right; it's the blood moon.
I think I’ll invest in astronomy, it’s looking up!
While we wait:
It’s like a capacitor, it’s building a charge. We all believe because it’s logically probable.
SF is right, these signs will move the stock and I believe it will move fast, far and all at once, like a lightning discharge. Watts too will be correct, the first domino to start the chain reaction will be one significant sale. For now we ride the SS minnow.
Thurston Howell the Third to Lovey “Liquid Metal is on sale!”
Assuming the iphone case is Liquidmetal, think of all the CEO’s admiring their phones case… and the ideas it will inspire.
You are the man Mr. Watts
“If the Zumwalt is in the ocean undergoing final testing of all systems since Oct 2013, I think it is more than 80% complete or it would sink.”
If you look closely you can see sailors in their bunks, but there is no bulkheads around the berthing compartment, so you can see them; they look cold. the other 5% is no gangplank so like nobody can get off, they’re stuck on the ship. All those men were drafted when the ship got underway; they used to be blacksmiths.
I’m from Long Island, but I’m not an English teacha.
Nothing form the Engel Medical days, disappointing, not even a mention on their website, they don’t try hard do they.
I wonder if the posters hating on Watts (as the PPS droops) realize; he’s sitting home laughing “You’re getting just like me!” That’s what this company does to people. When there’s good news Watts is right there, the hiring of Hauck for example; there just are too few examples to crow about.
This coming from me, one of the dillusionally optimistic ones.
There are hints things are coming together, I’ll stay until September.
I bought more shares today. It’s amazing how hungry stock holders are for information, of course no one knows for sure. Is there any reason companies won’t sub contract their liquidmetal part purchases from liquidmetal technologies? If LM submits a prototype and the company wants more isn’t it likely they place an order with Liquid metal? That would generate a lot of revenue for LM.
Many countries put the day before the month then year, today 4/3/14 would be 3/4/14 so what probably tripped up Watts was 8/4/14
That machine is frickin awesome! and on Engels site, dig it! I kind of expected little rooks and pawns on the conveyor belt though, not! Come on now, this has got to shave off at least a dime off the PPS, that’s not funny, I’m getting more. oh yeah P.S. it’s not a fish; it’s the white whale; but this time Ahab wins!
It’s possible they’ve already achieved success, we just don’t know it yet. Why not take some chump change when your broke if tomorrow you’re going to be rich? “Futures so bright, gotta wear shades. “
I read Watts posts with one eye shut. I’m obviously a dreamer and he always crashes me back to reality, but… I think he exaggerates the level of incompetence in the management team. Blind squirrels and broken clocks! The stars around them will guide them, I hope.
Working in a mid cap defense company I’ve sat through company wide meetings on counterfeit parts awareness; It’s a priority. I’m surprised the stock price hasn’t reflected the probability this company is going to become very busy.
I saw Musk last night on 60minutes (after Michigan lost to Kentucky ugh.) He’s building a battery factory that will produce more battery’s than the rest of the world combined; could you imagine?!
With LM’s problems universally known (management team) a future plan was probably presented to Engel and Materion to assure them this was a good company (or will be) to partner with. Liquid metal has to do the obvious, it started with Hauck. Engel and Materion will be ready, they’ll be watching (making sure) LM does what it needs to do; I doubt they will suffer fools.
How wonderfully geeky! Paul Hauck knows some great applications for Liquid Metal and it’s not Chess Pieces! He knows of intricate parts that have ridiculous reject rates because the desired part is beyond the capability of current MIM and CNC. A physicist friend of mine has a saying “Don’t get caught in physics jail” Paul knows LM will let them out of physics jail and he’s there to make it happen. How ever bad you think it was, it was better than I could do 9 days on the job. Yes ADD stock traders are not happy, but I’m confident this will reach fruition. It’s a surgical tool kit and doctors will have to have them just as bad as Israel wants those canards.
I was writing this when I saw your reply to WIAN:
It looks like OOO was correct in saying two more quarters, my expectations crept up a little the way they tend to do. Hauck’s been doing his own DD for 9 months and he signed on, gave a good presentation apparently….
I guess you’re not the Oracle for nothing.
I think Wednesday is going to be telling...
and this place will be like...
"Hop in my Chrysler, it's as big as a whale and it's about to set sail
I got me a car, like, it seats about 20
So come on and bring your L.M. money
The L.M. Shack is a little old place where we can get together"
Hope springs eternal.
I know you are correct but there is a bright future for BMG. I understand LM should have found markets by now and you have succinctly explained why they haven’t. I believe the market will find them. If they allow Hauck to carry the ball, he won’t drop it (the way they always do). The Market put Hauck in place, LM is incapable of such a great acquisition. We should be nervous relying on one guy to score the touchdown, especially when his own team will try to tackle him as they’ve proved that’s all their good at. Customer-Hauck-Materion-Engel-Hauck- Customer = touchdown!
I’ve worked in defense manufacturing for as long as Hauck has worked in MIM (we are the same age).
RF microwave circuits, vapor deposition and hermetic sealing applications. I mention this because BMG will replace many required parts in this field of science. Unlike CE (i phones and such) ME (Military electronics) develop slowly; It takes roughly 10 years for new technology to come to fruition in ME.
BMG has poor conductive characteristics, this is a good thing when it comes to enclosures and shielding EMI (electromagnetic Interference). There are many micro-mini devices and the housings are intricate in design, many walls, channels and feed-throughs; not to mention Di-electrics like ceramic components that might be eliminated using BMG. These devices are “drop in” usually <.500 mil thick, <2” X 2”, primarily switches, attenuators and phase shifters. The machined enclosure spec is tight <.005 mil. these housings are expensive and the price stays high. These devices, once they are incorporated will be used for 10 years minimum; with MIM the price can drop with quantity, CNC housings can’t. MIM holds .002 mil tolerance which is eye popping and hard to even measure. I’m pretty sure engineers are considering BMG in future devices, the papers and patents I looked at yesterday prove that fact. I don’t know much about the medical field but BMG shields radiation, this is a good thing when implanting radioactive seeds; so you don’t burn all the tissue on the way to the target. TT keeps mentioning supply chain which we know LQMT has in place, (Barney Rubble will play along, be bought off) this positions LM to be the leader in this inevitable utilization of the unique characteristics of BMG. LM just has to avoid bankruptcy. Although there is no revenue from Apple, there are two positives that are invaluable, 3 years experience working directly with the amorphous glasses and Apple trailblazing the material into the market.
I hope they are using a Liquid Metal machete, they will get there faster.
I’m just hoping apple uses LM, that it will be the first domino to set off the chain reaction. When the CEO’s of companies tell the engineers and sales to look into Liquid Metal the first thing they will do is contact… Liquid Metal Technologies! Paul Hauck will take it from there. The Irony will be… What Is In A Name! The applications are inevitable and Liquid Metal will get first shot at serious sales; even though they did everything they could to mess it up. WATTS will have mixed emotions, I can see him now, shaking his head saying “what a world” counting stacks! Honestly I’d be fine with .40, but let’s have fun while we wait.
When one company introduces Liquid Metal in a large scale project and it proves better and cheaper the competition will be forced to act. When you talk about large quantities, MIM is less expensive than CNC. Coupled with the fact of superiority of material it will happen overnight; but when will the day of that come? The storm is brewing. “Did you feel a rain drop?” “No” (golf) “I felt it again, did you? (SIM ejection device) “No” “Wait, I felt that” “Yeah, me too” (swatch) … We can read for hours about what is coming. There aren’t products as facts but there are patents and research. So when the boss says we have to consider liquid metal as we are losing our market share, who are you going to call but LiquidMetal? The name will serve us well in providing quotes. Houck will close the deal. LM makes the prototype orders material from Materion, Engels up the parts, sells to the customer. Forget Barney Rubble. I predict $36.00/share 3-5 years. That’s not possible, it’s probable. I’ve been reading all morning about BMG research, it’s not one thing, it’s thousands of things.

and many more, I just got tired.
Buck up Gorgol, while WIAN, OOO, AAZ, E1947, ZSA are right in what they say so are you, TT and ANX.
Baseball is like life, you fail most of the time, but not all the time and not this time. It’s the eight inning.
Funny you say that, I had bailed on this stock at a loss; sold eltp at .40 (which went to .95) to cover, now I’m back! It’s like a movie I want to see how it ends; thing is it could be the white whale and I’m Ahab. Hopefully, LQMT is Princess Buttercup and I can be the man in black. It should come as no surprise I live in New York and am a fan of the Met’s and not the Yankees; ya gotta believe. I think we’ll all like how this plays out. GL
Very compelling, albeit sobering. I’m relatively new here so forgive my unwarranted optimism. I still hold open the possibility good things are coming fast (next two quarters, estimated by OOO); starting with this show. The unimpressive conference call proves you know what you are talking about, why did they even do it? except for Hauck; which impressed all of you in the know. Even though they proved they are capable of unspectacular events, this should be different. My reasoning is, the show will have a significant impact on the company up or down. If I knew as much as you I’d believe they will shoot off whatever is left of their foot but ignorance is bliss! Help us Obi Won Hauckobi, you’re our only hope.
You are probably right.
My speculation was based on what kind of buzz is created among their industry peers at the show.
The more imminent it appears liquid metal will disrupt the market, soon; the more likely the people at the trade show will invest and spread the word; therefore a rising stock price. A falling or stagnant price could indicate they didn’t wow anybody.
It could be an indicator as to the impression they made on their peers Tuesday.
It is unreasonable to expect Hauck to close a deal in a minute, we have to give him some time but the success of the Engel day will be reflected in the trend of the stock price later in the week; agree?
Only having drawings, documents, pamphlets, whirligigs and whimmydittles at the event is a horrifying thought. Hopefully there is a machine up and running at LM and Hauck can show a video of the machine in action, explaining what you see; at the booth or whatever. It’s understandable they couldn’t bring the only machine with them. If Engel is in the manufacturing process of building others; that would explain the non demonstration. Anything short of that could be forgettable.
What seems logical to me is Mr. Hauck did his due diligence before he joined the company. He must feel very strongly the sales will roll right in. Whatever Steipp couldn’t tell the public he certainly could tell Hauck under the cloak of secrecy, pertaining to how sales will amount to revenue for LM; which sounds simple but somehow seems mathematically impossible on this board. There are a lot of jilted lovers on this board, it's like the woman whose husband cheated on her so many times, she doesn’t know whose baby she had. What might be more important than a demonstration at Engel Medical Days is the presence of Paul Hauck. If I was an executive in the MIM business and I talked to Hauck at the show, I’d look pretty good if I ran back to my company and placed an order with Liquid Metal. If you walked up to Mr. Hauck, whom you’ve known for 27 years, he might put his arm around you with the cloak of secrecy, does the pope wear a hat? If the part is already prototyped they can be pumped out like potato chips, thereby cheaper than the existing inferior product on the market. Or would you like to be the executive who gets left in the dust because you didn’t keep up with the cutting edge of this disruptive technology? I’m just sayin’.
"There is a good chance this sale, with Hauck involved in it, was done weeks ago."
Of course it was, there is no way P.Hauck would join the company under any other circumstances. Book of War. You only enter battle if you know you've already won.
All in, it's time.
Why would Paul Hauck join Liquid Metal? Because he already has customers lined up. If it was me, I’d get some real assurances from the potential customers then go to Liquid Metal and name my price, contingent on sales; I knew I could get. If he wasn’t positive he would have passed on this otherwise troubled company. All in, it’s time.
