CleanTechnica: Batteries Are Breaking Through.

New Atlas: Fuel cell drone makes an epic ocean crossing.
https://newatlas.com/drones/fuel-cell-drone-ocean-crossing/
NPWZ tried to make a long distance drone.
No sign that the powerchip will be delayed.
Still on for deployment in 2019, and 2019 is almost over.
Doing well with the fuel cell companies lately.
Too bad these guys deep sixed their fuel cell projects.
Old news! That'll take years to work out.
If the manufacturing affects the density then that should be explained on their website.
Currently this wide variation in energy densities makes them appear incompetent or even worst non credible.
Having worked at IBM as an engineer in the 80's on evaporators I can see how it's possible that layering different thicknesses of lithium in the wafer might change the density.
The bottom line is that there needs to be a prototype with the best possible specs. Downgrading to save money should be secondary!
Another point of interest is that the powerchip based on the new website has 2 different energy densities.
On the heading it's 2x in the body it's 6x.
Is it losing some energy density now that it's being commercialized?
Note it's not the air lithium which the site indicates has even higher densities!
The solid state battery is still MIA!
You couldn't even get on shark tank with that presentation!
They need a prototype with some real world comparitive specs, not Sidlo's 2 year old video!
I wonder if they are still waiting on the completion of the patents?
26 patents or 15 with 11 pending the website is unclear!
Watching them flail about is a bit frustrating to say the least.
They need to make some inroads otherwise it's going to be a repeat of the fuel cell debacle.
Theranos
The most power battery devised by mankind is being devoutly ignored by over 600 hundred companies that tested the prototypes.
We have a video of a bunch of batteries being manufactured in India and a series of products that have not incorporated the battery but a different battery.
A company making video equipment has made some sort of agreement and a dark Canadian power company claims to have a licensing agreement.
Overall not so impressed!
I think there is something to be said about...
1) They are selling products as apposed to just batteries.
2) All the current products appear to be designed without the powerchip.
3) The products so far have not been independently tested.
4) All the info indicates the powerchip is to be deployed in 2019.
5) No powerchip in site yet!
I'd rather see the batteries in a flashlight left on for 20 hours next to a dead Energizer bunny!
2 years? try 14 years of news that never ever has any closure!
They announce a project then nothing. That's happened close to a half dozen times. I still have NEAH solar panels and battery modules. Still waiting for the fuel cells. So are kids in Africa!
That's the standard pattern here.
The entirety of this matter is mind numbing!
All is not loss yet there is hope that they might get something going here as well as the possibility of legal recourse if needed.
The silence is deafening!
Fewer people but not changed.
Having had my own startup with multiple patents I can understand how D'couto can end up in this current state.
He's probably had a fair share of criticism and is tired of being called a failure. The hail Mary pass to totally disprove his doubters is one possible taught process.
The other is to screw the world and do whatever it takes to get ahead.
I can tell you from experience neither is satisfying!
Over the last 10 years it always looked liked we've been on the brink of something special happening at this time of the year.
Then the standard "nothing"!
I also wonder what happen to the fuel cell. Fuel cells are starting to get renewed traction these days.
Did they bag that altogether or what?
I realize that, they settled out of court, but it required a lawsuit to be filed in order for that to happen!
It's the pattern of taking advantage of critical workers, and long term investors.
The relentless secretsy that at this point is clearly overdone!
Just remember it took them going to court in order for what had to be a key R&D guy getting his fair share.
Don't expect anything less for us.
The chances of this resulting in anything other than a tax deductible loss are about the same as buying a power ball thicket and winning!
I find it somewhat interesting that the website, LinkedIn site claim a different number of patents as compared to the video.
Is this just a typographical mistake or are they concerned that the 10 patent discrepancy is real!
Chris is a difficult fish to catch.
He's probably flying around in an electric drone taxi powered by his powerchip batteries which are charged by those award winning fuel cells.
They use formic acid for fuel.
Those fuel cells are powering drones, ocean sensors, radiation detectors and laptops of many school children in Africa.
JMHO
Lol
So Nojay what info do you have for us today?
The company is virtual in many ways. Lol
JMHO
Anyone here considering buying the batteries to test?
We now know why it needed to be so secret.
The big question is whether it ever makes it out of the courts. Lol
Yep it's all smoke and mirrors. Theranos revisited!
Given that we are looking at a trillion dollar industry 2 to 3 mil is not all that impressive!
They will need to go public again to get the big bucks.
Have you seen the latest Elizabeth Holmes snl actors. It should be very funny. At least in the end there's a few good laughs!
I fear that Elon will be walking on Mars by the time this happens.
I relish the thought of a direct comparison.
The funny thing is that for some reason you think Elon Musk is just another funny celebrity.lol
You should read about Elon a little he's quite remarkable and very successful! The polar opposite of what you've been exposed to here.
He should consider calling Elizabeth for some legal advice. Lol
JMHO
I wouldn't put Chris D'Couto in the same category as OJ, more like Elizabeth Holmes right now. Lol
JMHO
Everyone in the world knows Elon Musk.
Chris D'couto not so much. Lol
Realize that just because there is a better technology doesn't mean it will be adapted.
Many a technological advancement has been ignored for various reasons.
Having your main patents litigated is a very good reason for a company to overlook XNRGI.
JMHO
My personal experience on this matter suggests that if this is a reputable law firm representing the claimant that there is typically something to the claim.
These matters are normally cut and dry one way or another!
