It's interesting that your posts regarding inventory at IB goes largely ignored on this board, almost like, we don't want to attract any attention to it. hmmmm
I think NTEK is waiting to officially announce and the manufacturers are reflecting this by not showing it on their websites at this time. The announcements could be made when all manufacturers get the app (Sony samsung lg vizio), or when major content deals get announced. Mark this. The Samsung site will show Ultraflix as well as Vizio when the time is right. Lots of folks gonna be watching ultraflix this weekend!!
It's Samsung all over again, right? Enjoy the brief amount of time before the pics and videos surface and it becomes embarrassing to deny the fact that the update was and is being pushed. Ultraflix has arrived on Vizios. Expect a pr from both companies in the future as well.
A volume induced breakout from this triple bottom pattern could prove to be significant and by significant I mean profitable $. Vizio rolls out P Series updates via S/N. The updates take time. Case and point, their 1.0.4.1 update was pushed and then pulled when problems arose. Some owners got it, others didn't. My DD has revealed that the latest update has been pushed earlier this morning. Reports should start trickling in soon.
Although I am more reserved in my acknowledgement of this - Look up the distributor of the film and you'll see that it is undeniably Magnolia Pictures. Who own's Magnolia? there you go. That's the only confirmation you'll get to this point.

HIGHLIGHTS
For starters, the TVs offer full compliance with the HEVC (H.265) codec for decoding streamed 4K video. This means that the P-Series gives you access to all of the streaming 4K content available from Amazon Prime Instant Video, Netflix and from any other 4K streaming service. Furthermore, the P-Series has been made compatible with the UltraFlix VoD 4K entertainment service, which includes one of the largest libraries in the U.S of 4K movies and shows.

For all those naysayers who claim that I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference in picture quality between HD and UHD when sitting further than 6-feet away, I must respectfully disagree.
There were far fewer UltraFlix launch titles than I had expected. The current offering includes a few strange movie titles, and a number of beauty shorts to show off 4K video. Extreme sports and auto videos are available along with nature and travel videos. A few videos are free, others run $3 to $4. The videos are poorly shot and poorly written. Demo 4K videos are better produced than the travel videos I tried to watch. We can only hope that UltraFlix quickly adds titles that are more mainstream and better produced.
Survey results from Strategy Analytics from the US show that 93% of people who saw UltraHD are impressed by the quality of the images.
The survey also reveals that awareness of the Ultra HD term itself has risen by 18 points in less than a year and now stands at 57% of all respondents. Ultra HD is still more widely recognised than 4K TV or UHD although awareness of those terms has also improved.
23% of all respondents claim to have watched TV or video on an Ultra HD TV, either in a retail store, in a home or somewhere else. This reaches as high as 40% or more in younger age groups. Of those who have seen it, 53% rated the video quality as “extremely impressive” and 40% as “somewhat impressive”.
“These are extremely high ratings for any new technology,” notes David Mercer, Principal Analyst and the report’s author. “We don’t know what sort of content people have viewed, or whether it was originated in 4K or upscaled. However, the fact that nearly everyone who has seen an Ultra HD TV is impressed is very encouraging for TV manufacturers and retailers and bodes well for a strong end to the 2014 holiday season.”
As a benchmark, when Strategy Analytics surveyed cinema goers about 3D a few years ago (3DTV: Will Consumers Buy It?), of those who had seen a 3D movie only 26% were very impressed, half the level we are now seeing with Ultra HD.
Methodology: Strategy Analytics conducted an online survey, the ConsumerMetrix Survey, fielded in November 2014. The sample consisted of n=2001 individuals in the US. Strategy Analytics weighted the data by country, age, gender and internet use to represent the US population of internet users.
The big news in smart TV is likely to be alternate platforms. Sony, Sharp and Philips all said they'd release models with Android TV -- the same system used by the Google Nexus Player -- built-in.
It just seems odd to me that both Newsweek and Sound and Vision both have these unexplained, vague mentions that could imply Amazon content being made available through Ultraflix or vice versa. Where are these writers getting this from? I don't think it's just these two articles either. I think I've seen it in other article(s) as well but I haven't had the time to do the search yet.

Up until this point I had been saying that 4K TVs at a certain size viewed from a proper distance really didn't look any better than HD displays. This was based on being in a store and seeing a 4K TV at that distance and not being able to really tell any difference from HD. Looking back, maybe it just wasn't 4K content or a very good TV. It was a Sony.
Yesterday however, I was in my local Best Buy and happened upon a 65" LG LED IPS display that was clearly playing 4K content. From a 7-8 foot distance (about what it would be in my living room) I could definitely distinguish the better detail. It was pretty spectacular looking.
So now I will admit that I was wrong, there is life after HD. Although I'm still unsure how important that will be for all types of content as some softer cinematic style content may not benefit much from the higher resolution. The content shown on this display was ultrasharp videoish style video. Not a look I would typically go for myself when shooting a narrative style film.
I might feel that way about foley if I felt I was personally slighted by the man or was a competitor of ntek's. But I wasn't and am not, so I don't. Is this obvious to anyone else?
"Using the Sony as my main 4K source, I compared "Ultra HD" (a.k.a. 4K) streaming on Amazon to "1080p HD," the highest quality available to non-4K sets. In side-by-side comparisons of "Alpha House" and "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon," the 4K stream did look better than the 1080p versions, with improved better detail and sharpness in most areas, in particular faces and fabric textures. The difference was visible from my nominal seating distance of about 8 feet from a 65-inch TV--sitting closer will make the difference more apparent, while moving back it will dwindle."
Probably nothing. But here's a wild one for you, what if Amazon was using ntek's servers to stream their 4k content. There were supposed to be 50 new movies, how many new offerings and 4k has Amazon put up?
