I don't think so .. he's a perfect puppet - loves to take credit for everything, his or not.

The man pulling Obama's strings...
Virtually Unreported: CCW Holder Likely Prevented Larger Clackamas Mall Death Toll
If certain aspects of stories relating to an incident of gun violence don't fit the template, they usually doesn't get reported at all. But if such things somehow get some local exposure, they rarely escape into the broader national news environment. What follows is an example of the latter.
On Saturday, Dan Zimmerman at the Truth About Guns blog (HT Instapundit) asked a quite logical question about the horrible murders at Oregon's Clackamas Mall on December 11, and referred readers to a report from local Portland TV station KGW (video at link) which provides the probable answer:
Have you wondered why, in such a target rich environment as a suburban shopping mall two weeks before Christmas, the shooter at the Clackamas Town Center only managed to kill two people before dousing his own lights? Part of the reason was a dodgy gun. But as is being reported by kgw.com, part was also due to the fact that, gun-free zone or not, Jacob Roberts was confronted by Nick Meli who was armed and has a concealed carry permit.
KGW's text report, which mostly tracks the on the scene reporter's verbiage, follows. I'll address the video's studio introduction after that (bolds are mine throughout the rest of this post):
Nick Meli is emotionally drained. The 22-year-old was at Clackamas Town Center with a friend and her baby when a masked man opened fire.
"I heard three shots and turned and looked at Casey and said, 'are you serious?,'" he said.
The friend and baby hit the floor. Meli, who has a concealed carry permit, positioned himself behind a pillar.
"He was working on his rifle," said Meli. "He kept pulling the charging handle and hitting the side."
The break in gunfire allowed Meli to pull out his own gun, but he never took his eyes off the shooter.
"As I was going down to pull, I saw someone in the back of the Charlotte move, and I knew if I fired and missed, I could hit them," he said.
Meli took cover inside a nearby store. He never pulled the trigger. He stands by that decision.
"I'm not beating myself up cause I didn't shoot him," said Meli. "I know after he saw me, I think the last shot he fired was the one he used on himself."
Note that apparently no other shots were fired after the shooter allegedly became aware of Meli. If that's the case, Meli's armed presence arguably saved an untold number of lives.
That makes the studio introduction of the segment extremely odd, or worse:
Now to an untold story on the shooting at Clackamas Town Center. We now know there was another armed man in the mall that day: a shopper, who had the shooter in his gunsight but never pulled the trigger. The Night Team's Mike Benner is live outside the mall, and Mike, the big question for many tonight would be "Why didn't he shoot?"
That's a strange introduction for a situation where you know that the answer is that Meli didn't want to hurt an innocent person, and that no one else was killed or injured (except the shooter, who killed himself) as a result of Meli's decision not to fire.
I would also not discount the notion that the shooter decided to end his life when he realized that the alternative might be getting shot himself and surviving to spend the rest of his life behind bars or mental institutions.
Saturday afternoon, Eugene Volokh cited four examples of "shootings in which a civilian armed with a gun intervened and brought down the shooter." Those situations end up forcing the press to report the facts.
The story above clearly didn't. A Google News search on Nick Meli's full name in quotes at 11:00 a.m. ET returned no other story.
Earlier this week, a group of Democratic Party politicians in Oregon co-sponsored "a bill that would ban semi-automatic rifles classified as assault weapons." It appears that the legislation would, if enacted, have banned Meli from carrying his Glock (disclosed in the video coverage, but not the text). Mall shoppers who survived that day, their families, and the public should be asking the dimwitted dozen how much worse the death toll might have been on December 11 if Meli had instead been unarmed -- if they only knew the story the press won't tell.

Damn that rap music anyway!
Hi!
Well, today I be chilly (40 degrees or so), older than yesterday, and younger than tomorrow.
That's about the gist of it.
And just shaking my head at the liberal sharks' reactions when they think they sense a drop of blood in the water.
Their knee jerk mentality is a big reason we're in all the troubles we are now.
But of course, they'll never learn.
Hope you're well, and feisty, this morning!
Thanks. Blame my old age and ignorance!
I don't doubt for one minute that this administration will put their boots on the throats of anyone they believe is standing in the way of them establishing complete control over the populace.
Just which laws are you referring to and which states have enacted them, to deal with which type of action? Afraid you lost me there.
Not unless we are willing to do the same for every decent, brave fighting man or woman who lost their life in service of this country.
And we obviously aren't willing to do that.
So ... why so in this case?
I guess so ...
I find it very hilarious that I spent 20 years of my life in military uniform, serving to protect freedoms, including the freedom to ensure arrogant, smart-assed little narcissistic pricks like you could continue to run your big fat mouth.
Now, take it elsewhere, or act like an adult - your choice. But, if you choose wrong ....
One thing for sure - lessons like that one are not soon forgotten.
Another area - skyjackings ...
How many airliners have we had hijacked since pilots have been given the option of carrying, and we increased our 'sky marshall' program ...
Oh gee, I forgot. The Antis don't deal very well with actual facts.
Yes sir, it was pretty darned funny ..
Israel stopped them by training and posting armed teachers and volunteer community members in their schools ...
Liberals will have a literal cat if anyone would suggest that here.
Sometimes those little ones are just the ticket for a short smoke break!
I opened a FB account, and closed it after a few months. Just too maintenance intensive to keep up! Plus seems someone on my 'friends' list was always getting their accounts hacked and the all these strange emails would start appearing in my email. So, just closed it down. Not worth the hassles!
But yeah, the youth of today is a victim of the victim mentality - that of course having been learned from the "if it feels good do it" liberal crowd! The results of years of living that mentality, and avoiding responsibility.
I doubt most of them could spell 'responsibility'.
Sad, but a natural result of the way things are being done.
Cool ... I'm still suffering through my Gurkhas and Fuentes!
Sounds like the ticket!
Smoking any good cigars these days?
I'll check into it further. I have worked on my milspec triggers a bit, but they aren't hardened except just on the surface so any real work could easily take them down past the hardened area, and they'd wear out pretty quick.
I am taking my time before I buy a trigger though. They're too expensive to make a mistake. Plus, I'm getting so damn old and feeble I'm not capable of doing much precision shooting anyway!!!
Yeah, and I Thoguht it was cool that he had removed the hard disc before he shot it, and saved it secretly, so no information was really lost. But the girl didn't know that for a while afterward.
Yep ... That was pretty funny!
We pretty well know the ones who would trade away their liberty for a government flu shot ...
They're the same ones trying to take away the liberty of those of us who actually get our own flu shot and keep our firearms.
I hear ya ...
Obviously, the 5.56 accounted for a heck of a lot of dead Viet Cong in Vietnam, as well as every conflict since. But we also know the 7.62 X 39 is lethal as anything can be within it's designed ranges.
Hence, of course, the never-will-end 'discussions' about AR vs. AK ....
The 7.62 X 51 is my first choice, but in truth, it's only advantageous (in "social work" situations, to quote Jeff Quinn) at ranges over 150 yards .. up to that, the 7.62 X 39 is just as effective, really, and doesn't carry quite the same recoil as the 308.
At least according to many schools of thought.
I'm satisfied my 7,62 X 39 will serve the purposes for which I needed it anyway. Defense and even some hunting at closer ranges. I have a .308 bolt action with a 3 - 9 power scope for longer shots in hunting ..... where the advantage of having a lot of ammo, readily available, in reserve is not as critical as in the previously mentioned social work.
.223, though, has truly proven itself in pursuit of the two legged beast.
And that (slow their roll) is where the secret lies!
Criminals, by their nature, don't like to deal with 'victims' who may well fight back ...
Someone carrying a 1911, or even a 5 shot .38 revolver or pocket .380, don't make ideal targets.
Thanks. I have been looking at it, and the Timney triggers too. Do you have experience with the Geissele? If so, how did you like it? Any dislikes?
I was too - it's the best, and worst, of both worlds. The good part is one can have a 7.62 X 39 upper (with bolt), and just pin it onto a lower receiver they are now using for 5.56, by using the 7.62 mags (and 5.56 mags will work, but they can't be loaded fully. For example, I can load 8-9 rounds of 7.62 X 39 into a 5.56 mag and it works fine)
One gets the 7.62 projectile, with a lower 'dose' of powder than a .308, from the same lighterweight platform as the 5.56. The 7.62X39 is, as we all know, a proven performer within the limits of the design - Not a 308/7.62X51 competitor, but not designed to be.
Mine likes brass much better than steel casings, but there is still some Yugo surplus M67 around fairly reasonably priced, so it doesn't require buying the most expensive brass. The Yugo is 'slightly corrosive' (that's like being slightly pregnant, I am thinking) but, I clean my firearms after use anyway, so no difference there for me.
I've tried it out to 100 yards and it shoots as well as any firearm I own. Even with the Russian ammo, I was blasting 2 liter soda bottles at 100 yards with no problems. Not match shooting, but, that's not why I got it either.
The AK feeds better, for sure, but I like the AR platform better for several reasons. If you try one (an AR of any caliber) I think you'll be asking yourself why you didn't already have one.
Yep, they'd see Chicago settle down into a law abiding city if they legalized concealed carry for the 'victims' of all the crime there.
Yes sir, even for this one which doesn't have the dust cover or forward assist. That's about as cheap as I can remember seeing them.
OK, who has the experience to recommend a good triggger for AR's? I am looking at changing at least one of mine over to an upgraded trigger. What are the recommendations?
Yep, at last, Illinois has decided to join the USA!
Good for all those in Illinois.
Sounds like you enjoy those Widow Makers ... I'll have to try one.
Don't think I asked already, but I might have .... Do you have access to Cuban smokes in any of the foreign commissaries/PX's? Just thought it might be a possibility, since we're the only country who cuts off our own nose just to spite our face by boycotting Cuban cigars.
As for me, I'll have to settle for a Gurkha Crest myself tomorrow. Going to the Casino I think so have to take a couple of smokes to burn while I am there.
It's getting close to 'restock' time. Humidor is getting low!
Watch your 6 in those 'nasty areas'.
Got to go out and play a while this morning. Temps were in the high 50's when I got to the range, and it was 73 when I left.
Gave my AR-15 (in 7.62 X 39) a good workout. This was the first real day of shooting it has had, as I had previously only fired a few test rounds. Has a couple of failure-to-feed malfunctions, which I think were magazine related, but all of which occurred while using 'Commie ammo'. Reportedly, it is a common problem with AR's in this caliber. Overall though I was pretty happy with it.
Started out using Winchester White Box ammo (123 gr FMJ) and got it zeroed pretty quickly with the Back Up Iron Sights (did a 'battlesight zero' at 25 yards for today). Was getting overlapping holes in a nickel/dime size group of three shots. Switched over to some 'commie ammo' (Brown Bear 123 gr. Hollow points), and my group was suddenly about 1 1/2 inches to 2 1/2 inches. I knew the commie ammo wouldn't be as accurate as the Winchester, but never realized it was that different.. I think though, I will like this AR, and with some good 'Made in USA' soft points, I would readily take it deer hunting anywhere I figured shots would be 150 yards or less. Anything over that, and will be looking for the .308. For a plinking rifle though I can deal with an occasional malfunction and shoot the cheap commie ammo.
Also shot my Ruger Single Six 22LR/22 Mag, which is just a 'real purdy' lil ol' six gun, and makes for a snappy outfit when carried in the black, Triple K leather 'cowboy' holster and gunbelt combo. This is my first single action revolver, and I am still trying to decide if I like the way it fits in my hand. I may end up trading or selling this one, if it doesn't 'feel' better next time out. Nothing wrong with the gun, just the difference in the way it is held, versus a double action.
So, got to pop a few caps, smell a little burnt powder, and hd just avery nice late morning session at the range.
What's the trade? Looks like a purchase of another firearm to me ..
Sig fan are you?
Then check the 23 and 22.
You know Obama though. Neither the law nor the constitution mean anything to him..
That's (two reasons) why he HAS TO GO!
If you are going to carry it daily, then the 27 would be the choice. Otherwise, for occasional carry, then the 23 or 22 will work fine. I carried a 22 for years wearing a 'sports vest' over it, and while people occasionally commented on the vest (Going fishing? LOL) I never had any problems with it showing ..
The 27 is a bit small for plinking on the range for any length of time (for me) but any of the three will get the job done.
I will say, just to get all the cards on the table, I now carry my Kel Tec 380 or 9mm most of the time. But that is not in any way a negative mark on the Glocks. Just my latest preference.
schweeet!
