Check the PPHM website, we will be going to 6 conferences over the next few months including AACR and ASCO. Good article in WSJ on how hungry pharma is. TW
Katie, Cj, Terry: You guys are verrrry sneakie the way you change the "stuff" up above on this site or I am very stupid. DON'T ANSWER THAT. TW
Thanks again CJ. TW
If you have limited time read para's 1270 to 1303 of the posted patent application. It doesn't take much time and it is very impressive what the good Dr. Thorpe is telling you about 3G4. For me, it's amazing. TW
Katie, it has a bullish chart and a small float compared to us. Should make a nice move up from here. TW
I like the part at par. 1302 where the inventor says, "...the 3G4 antibody has enormous potential as a broad spectrum anti-viral agent." Good enough for me!!! TW
Ken, I think that PPHM has done a great job of dampening expectations through their slow execution. Maybe they can't help it, but the pace seems to be picking up. Based on the markets the drugs address and the data we have been told about by Thorpe I think people have expectations that are way to conservative for what this company will do. For example, 3G4 is going to move much faster than we think. TW
Table H of Thorpe's patent application expressly refers to the virus along with many, many others. TW
Great post. The pieces of the puzzle are coming together nicely. TW
All it (the virus) has to have is an outer envelope with PS exposure for us to be in business. Most major viruses do. Big, big, big market and our 3G4 is novel in the mechanism by which it works. TW
Terry, The grant would indicate we may really be on to something after we get through days like today. TW
It's days like today that I am reminded how much I hate Melton puts. ONE, and I am only saying ONE, of the reasons the shorts are so aggressive is the fact that they believe that PPHM will be PUTTING another 1 million shares to Melton who will lay it off on the market. So they short and wait to cover at a firesale price. A good licensing agreement would really help solve the problem. TW
Katie I agree with you. PPHM is not obligated to issue the remaining 4 million shares. Melton is there if they need him. It was important to me that the contract was limited to 5 million before the first put used 1 million leaving 4 million. My remark was meant to convey that PPHM is putting themselves in a position where they will no longer need his services for much longer. Just depends on whether they will choose to do a few more puts until they can get a licensing deal or grant in place. They may well issue the remaining 4 million shares at higher prices until they get alternative financing in place. I really don't care. I'm just glad the days of this type of deal are numbered. I reread the comments by Thorpe from his SHM lecture on MOA viral. I think the viral is huge and off the charts and I think it has a good chance of working. There is a lot of data that we have not seen but Thorpe gave us a heads up in October. Question is whether you believe him. I do. IMHO, the man is honest, conservative and believable. Evidently, two prominent virologists agree that it shows great promise or they would not have joined the SAB and they have probably seen the data. Nice recruiting Sherris. Right now everybody is cautious and far be it from me to tell someone they should not be. Wouldn't it be interesting if the viral 3G4 overshadowed good results on Tarvacin. TW
Katie, it almost makes me feel sorry for Melton. TW
Ken, you have to admit this is a lot better than January. Don't you just love it when a good plan comes together. Viral, much bigger market than cancer. TW
Ken this is a "put" agreement where Melton has to buy stock from time to time at a discount when PPHM decides they need some money. Only 4 million is left under the agreement to put to Melton. It's a sweeet deal for Melton. PPHM usually sells 1 million lots once a month to keep 1 years operating expenses in the bank per PPHM's announced policy. TW
Katie, too bad that Melton is the best game in town for PPHM right now. Agree that PPHM needs to license but they need credibility to get a good deal. I am hopeful they get some credibility and analyst coverage with some good results from the P1. TW
I am so sick and tired of Melton getting more puts. $4 million left on his new deal. Hopefully this means they plan on doing a pharma license this summer. TW
Katie is becoming a TA guru on top of becoming a nurse and great biotech researcher. The only thing left to master is her back swing. Yellow ball goes over the net not under it. Or was it visa versa? TW
Hey Ken, I don't want to jinx the chart of PPHM but it is starting to strengthen nicely. Higher prices are comin.' Reading Katie's hard work and extreme good DD. Looks like to me that a partnership after or towards the end of phase 1 is the plan for PPHM if the money is right. Until then we "put" a long. Happy Groundhog Day to all!! TW
Amazing how we did 2 million less shares on the Tarvacin news v. Cotara. What a leakie ship. PPHM had to be selling into the news. TW
Ken this is an easy one! TWO break away gaps to the upside on very good volume. I'm finally going to get to build the other wall to the cup/handle pattern with a nice double bottom below. I think we move up slowly. Helps to know the fundies since they will provide the reasons for the pattern. Maybe SK will come out of hiding. After all, groundhog day is Feb 2. TW
How convenient. Approval right after 1/25/05. See post #1350. I must confess I am a little disappointed with the price action and the leaks but I think we climb from here once the profit taking and put(?) gets done. We are in the clinic with a potential blockbuster! TW
Katie, Forgot to say thanks to you and all the other posters for your hard work. It is very helpful. I still think the solution to our problems is to buy you a glass of Jack D. on a Friday night and give you SK's cellphone number. Maybe then he will pay attention to the stockholders. TW
When you read all that info, it is amazing we are selling at the price we are. TW
Little early to make that call. But, if correct, the IND approval should be very close. TW
Very bullish from a TA perspective. Nice that the news did not leak out. Also, nice kiss for any insiders who still had some warrants left. PPHM probably let another million slip off of the shelf. Tarvacin news will put us over 2.00 if we get the IND. Someone bought 4.6 million shares so far and it isn't just short covering. Hopefully, we got the warrants done and some of the weak hands out. TW
For those of you that missed my RB post, I had a little exchange of e-mails with Frank H. I brought up the issue of the perceived lack of info at this point in time. His response was that a CC or press release would not make the IND process go faster so what is to be gained. It appears that Tustin is in hibernation mode until they get word from the FDA.
Although you never know with PPHM, I doubt if we will hear anything until after 1/25/05 They probably want to avoid any appearance of impropriety with the options even if they were exercised. Someone has been selling some shares down here and depressing the price but the who is anyone's guess. How do they refer to themselves, an "emerging underfunded" biotech. About right. TW
EPIX took a nice hit after the FDA requested additional studies for its "imaging agent" even though the drug was found approvable. Not a safety issue. More of a efficacy issue. Let's make the USA the most expensive place on earth to develop a drug. FDA is giving new meaning to CYA. TW
For whatever little comfort it is worth, I ran the charts of PPHM and we are as oversold as we were in August with a few none conformations. Words like pancake, drifting, directionless come to mind. Maybe PPHM won't say anything until after 1/25/05 because of the options but if they are done, what's the point?I've sent my e-mails to SK. Strongly agree that PPHM should talk about their goals and plans for 05. TW
Ken, your chart says PPHM is waiting for news. Double bottom? I'm surprised that they (hedgies & MM's) didn't try to take it under 1.00 to get people to sell. Possible news on the IND coming at any time must be too big of a gamble. Without inside info, it is dangerous to go home short at the end of the day. TW
Ken, EZ & Katie, I'm going to speculate the insider options business is pretty well cleaned up. Otherwise, I would have expected more downward pressure on the last pop up. Don't know if there is a '05 Calender for PPHM but it would be a good time to release one to undue some of the mess the options have caused with the pps. Are they waiting for word on the IND before talking about upcoming events? If I had to guess, next week would be a good time for some news. TW
Ken, please tab PPHM. We need the help. TW
Understand how you both feel and far be it from me to tell you how to invest your money. I am using a little more flexible time period of the end of March since I do not want to be taken out of my position right at the bottom. Why would SK give you a CC when he has not done so in the past? What if the FDA gives its IND approval the second week of February? It just seems that this option business has really killed the pps at the worst possible time. If you believe that the bioreactor will not go on line and recieve significant orders and the IND is not likely to be approved, can't disagree with your decision. If a little more time will allow these things to happen, why sell at this depressed price? TW
Not too good. eom. TW
Terry posted a link on RB at message 157321 which shows 1, 999,000 warrants expiring on 1/25/05 at .25. Draw your on conclusions. TW
Hey Ken, did I see you visiting on RB? Looks like the delay is really messing with the pps. Chart broke the wrong way. DNA didn't help either. I put a little $ a side to buy under 1.00 since if it goes under that number the shorts will press and people will sell because of fears of delisting. Hopefully the bioreactor will go on line soon and issues with the FDA get resolved. In the back of my mind, I am a little concerned by a remark made by one of the RB posters, smallcapz. He said that PPHM would be lucky to get the IND approved by March. February can be a tough month on stocks. What a market. TW
Ken, check out the OBV. It is not confirming the last move down. Interesting. TW
Ken, are we getting really oversold or what? TW
