Does anyone wonder why there are NO options offered past Jan 2015?? Eight months of options and NO LEAPS. Maybe Olddog can let us know if this has ever happened because I cannot recall IDCC not having LT options being offered. Who knows - maybe the new board wizard will pontificate and enlighten us as to why no IDCC options beyond Jan 15 hence no LEAPS???

WHAT part of this do you fail to comprehend?? Nokia is NOT going OUT OF the CELLPHONE MANUFACTURING BUSINESS. Do some more DD and less posting ~ Nokia can sell handsets again under its own brand as early as 2015 and it can sell phones under a different brand immediately. Under the terms of the deal, Nokia can't license the Nokia brand to anyone that might use it to sell mobile phones for a period of 30 months. And should Nokia wish to re-enter the devices market itself, it can use the Nokia name for its own kit from the start of calendar 2016.
So in theory, in just over two years, Nokia could launch its own line of mobile devices again alongside Microsoft's own Nokia-branded feature phones. Six months after that, it could begin licensing its name to another manufacturer, meaning there could theoretically be three companies selling phones under the Nokia brand.
SO - think about an infringement ruling an how that WILL IMPACT EVERYTHING Nokia does going forward.

POOR customer service is sending an email on 3/9 that states:
"Shipping confirmation for order #458XX" and in that email
"Dear Hydro_gen,
All of the items from order #458XX have now been shipped:
2x Glass Pak (4) Piece
2x mCig 2.0 (RAW)
They are being shipped via USPS to the following address:
Would you call this GOOD customer service???? smh

The emails that state "All of the items from order #45XXX have now been shipped:" are per the company "auto generated email sent through our software when the labels were prepared en masse."
NOT the best business practice as I also received said email on 3/9. They say they can have production at 100,000 to 200,000 monthly units yet they cannot currently handle a few thousand orders. That is where the company is TODAY. The stock price is WAY WAY WAY ahead of itself and they should NEVER SEND SHIPPING CONFIRMATION until it actually ships. imho. BLTA

That is why it is not posted on the mCig website - the only links you find lead you to a $ subscription request. {EDIT} I perhaps stand corrected - see next post. The disruptive pricepoint and internet marketing via FB, Twitter & Youtube will NOT get mCig where they want to be - imho. I have no bias here - the company is 0-2 so far with me so I can only hope the product works as advertised. Reviews are mixed so I will await my order to eventually be shipped - even tho I did get an email LAST week stating it WAS shipped - and then I can review.
Again - do some math folks. mCig cannot even fulfill thousand(s) of orders - granted they are "new" yet that moniker/excuse will wear off in 6 months or so. They say they can get 100-200K units per month. OK - lets go with 100K - that is 1,200,000 or 12M is sales. They also say they wanted the WDR program to allow similar margins - so let's go with a $3 margin for mCig - that would be $3.6 million in gross pre tax/expense profit. That would be an EPS of 1.3 cents per share. GLTA

The point of mentioning the 1099 is that a rep would be an independent contractor - NOT an mCig "employee."
PEACE
Hydro_gen
I had an extensive 'conversation' with mCig last week and they want a rep to buy the inventory and sell store to store. They stated they want the rep to handle the restock so they do not just set up accounts and have to pay reps for 'doing nothing' if there are repeat sales. I pointed out the stores could jump the sales rep because they really have nothing to stop that from happening. As has been mentioned here today - the pricepoints at retail needs to be $19.99 and the "wholesale" and online needs to be lower than that pricepoint. Keep in mind - this is a commission based plan (that I spoke of) ONLY where the rep would get a 1099.
I also mentioned what if a chain is sold say an initial inventory of 1,000 or 2,000 units - WHY should the rep front the cost? Plus most companies account payables are net 30, 60 etc - they said the purchaser could wire the funds. YEA RIIIIGHT!! They do not think they should employ sales practices that are proven (direct invoice to stores are what most account payables operate under) and are delusional to think ANY sales rep is going to stock hundreds of stores. Having an extensive successful sales background I suggested many things to improve their "brick and mortar plans" because social media and online sales will not get them where they want to be - imho.
ONE THING they should NEVER DO is send email's out that say "Shipping confirmation for order #XXXXXX" and "ALL of your order has been shipped" and a week later NADA.
Time will tell if they come around and implement my suggestions to improve the WDR program or not......they seemed pretty "smug" yet I personally see a bigger curve for them down the road.

That confirms the figures I already had for the WDR program. Thanks.

mCig will only get ONE chance to make a good FIRST impression. As far as I am concerned they have two strikes. Granted, I may be an early adapter by placing an order on 2/27 yet here are a few thoughts.
FIRST - not mentioning the MONTHLONG backlog at the time I placed my order, knowing good and well they had NO PRODUCT TO SHIP, is poor business practice. I would have been 100% cool IF they let me know - instead they send a confirmation email stating the order would be shipped within days. pffffttt. A week passed and when I inquired again they stated what I posted earlier and I "should" see movement next week - that is 2 strikes. I think mCig has a cashflow issue - IMHO - and that is why they have delays. God forbid they get a real order of say 10,000 units.........
I asked one time - yet no reply - has anyone here inquired about the WDR program??
I look forward to receiving the mCig with glass inserts to see how well this works. Again - doing some math I cannot see MILLIONS in sales this year much less millions in profits. Just MHO!

The company emailed me on Sunday stating my order was SHIPPED. When I contacted them yesterday they now state "In regards to fulfillment, we have thousands of orders in line, and we are printing labels en masse and preparing packages to be shipped. We can't do all of this in one day, so you should see your order start moving by early next week."
Thousands create a 6 week delay?? Do some math. 10,000 units a month would only be $1,200,000 in TOTAL ANNUAL sales - IF they are all sold at $10 and there are not a lot of WDR orders. I have seen NO discussion about the mCig WDR program - has anyone here chatted with the company to find out about this???

FAIL rating thus far.
mCig wants to be Amazon. Amazon became AMAZON because of exceptional customer service - not lip service. mCig is serving lip service thus far. Want some proof?
Ok - so the 2.0 has been on the market for 2 months - out of stock since January 27th. I placed an order 2 weeks ago and was NOT notified the 2.0 was on backorder. FAIL #1. I then contacted the company and they then disclosed a MONTH LONG backlog. OK - I can deal with that. My beef is the company sent an email to me and MANY OTHERS on this board on Sunday clearly stating in the subject line: Shipping confirmation for order #458XX. "All of the items from order #458XX have now been shipped:" (see below)
As of today the order has EVEN NOT BEEN RECEIVED by the USPS to be shipped - only the "Electronic shipping info received" - this is a blatant LIE and FAIL #2.
Has anyone else who received this shipping confirmation checked their order??
I just want to point out - the market cap is WAY WAY WAY ahead of the company's ability to deliver and if a thousand orders or so gets them this far behind......well then do some math. 10,000 a month is ONLY #1,200,000 in sales.
Just sayin' a mixed metaphor "the 3rd strike and proof will be in the tastin' of the pudding"

I HOPE the company resolves their supply chain. IF only 100 orders are being processed a day - even at 10 units per order (unrealistic for retail) that is 1,000 units a day X 365 days is 365K or $3,650,000 in revenue. Current mkt cap is 203 million.

Care to elaborate on the "major developments" to support a 124M market cap?? VitaCig and Vapolution........again the company states 5,000 units will be available on 3/12/14 and NO INVENTORY since 1/27/14 - that is $50,000 in POTential sales.

50,000 units per month?? I finally read the investors presentation (it would not load yesterday for some reason) - look at page 12 - they now will receive 5,000 units (on March 12th per the company) vs the 1,000~3,000 units in the past - NO mention of how often they receive inventory, yet they have not had ANY product in stock since January 27th (per the company) so one would hope they sell fast with 5 weeks of pre-sales. Someone pumped a 10,000,000 number in EARNINGS this year. Pure fantasy. There is POTential here - and a lot of HYPE. Based on the ecig markets mcig should have margins around 20-30% - then there is the vitacig at $6 - like I said there is POTential here.
Futures look very shaky today. mcig is on my watch list.

Slow down folks - I am neither short nor long. I asked a simple question - claims that this is a vape ~ can anyone elaborate? To me it looks like a electronic joint. Other than the glass insert C4 stating "small vapor hits" from the sticky above and needing the additional insert to avoid slight combustion I wonder what else you need to do to be an "experienced user" LOL
Also - I DID place an order last week for the 2.0 and the 4 pack glass insert and after sending the company an email this morning I received a reply stating they were on back order since JANUARY 27th. They could have emailed the back order information with my confirmation order receipt yet kudos for the reply.
Anyone have ANY sales numbers to justify this market cap? This is a $10 product. Crunch some numbers, at $10 per sale (or even $20 average per order) having a 124,000,000 market cap with back orders since January 27th is a lot of sales to create a justifiable profit to justify the market cap. I will do some more digging when I get time later. I just happen to have a PERFECT day to go enjoy.
PEACE and TIA

Just curious - have ANY OF YOU purchased or ATTEMPTED to purchase this product??? And the reviews are?? This looks like an electronic joint - not a vaporizer. Again, just curious.

JOINT RESPONSE OF COMPLAINANTS, RESPONDENTS AND THE
COMMISSION INVESTIGATIVE STAFF TO ORDER NO. 45 337-613
Per Order No. 45, Complainants InterDigital Communications Inc. and InterDigital
Technology Corp. (“InterDigital”), Respondents Nokia Corporation and Nokia Inc. (“Nokia”),
and the Commission Investigative Staff (“Staff”) (collectively “Parties”) respectfully provide
their joint position as to the proceedings on remand and a proposed schedule. The Parties agree
the proposed schedule below is necessary to comply fully with the Federal Circuit remand and
mandate and the Commission’s order to issue a remand initial determination addressing the
enumerated issues.
First, the Commission’s Order Remanding the Investigation requires reopening discovery
to update and complete the evidentiary record concerning Nokia’s currently imported products.
Although the Parties do not expect the necessary discovery relating to Nokia’s currently
imported products that is under Nokia’s control to be particularly voluminous or time-
consuming, third-party discovery is necessary to address the remand issues and that will almost
certainly require greater time and effort. Specifically, the Parties anticipate that detailed
discovery from third-party Qualcomm Inc. will be necessary to complete the evidentiary record
concerning Nokia’s currently imported products. In the 800 and 868 investigations, as in other
2
ITC investigations, Qualcomm has often been unwilling to timely comply with its discovery
obligations to the Commission. The proposed schedule recognizes this need for Qualcomm
discovery and the potential, as was the case in the 800 Investigation, that the assistance of the
ALJ, the Commission, and the district courts may be required to complete discovery from
Qualcomm.
Second, InterDigital and Nokia have a five-day jury trial in the United States District
Court for the District of Delaware already scheduled to begin on September 8, 2014. InterDigital
then has a related five-day jury trial against ZTE in the United States District Court for the
District of Delaware scheduled to begin on October 10, 2014. Both cases are the parallel district
court actions associated with the 868 investigation.
Third, InterDigital and Nokia were both parties to Investigation Nos. 800 and 868. The
Parties contemplate the use of certain portions of the records developed in those investigations,
once any appropriate permissions are obtained.
Fourth, it is expected that the parties to this investigation and the scope of discovery
could be impacted by the pending Microsoft transaction, announced on September 3, 2013,
whereby Microsoft Corp. is acquiring substantially all of Nokia’s Devices & Services business,
including the product lines at issue in this investigation. The parties believe that the schedule set
forth below should be sufficient to permit any necessary discovery on any issues resulting from
the closing of the Microsoft transaction.
Consequently, the parties believe that the following proceedings are necessary on
remand:
1. Reopen discovery on the issues identified in the Commission’s Order Remanding Investigation;
3
2.Conduct an evidentiary hearing to take evidence to resolve the issues set forth in Commission’s Order Remanding Investigation; and
3.Adopt the following schedule for the remand proceedings:
Event Date
First settlement conference 4/18/14
Submission of first settlement conference joint report 4/23/14
File identification of expert witnesses, including their expertise and curriculum vitae 5/23/14

issues for which that party bears the burden 7/18/14
Parties serve responses to contention interrogatories on the issues for which the
opposing party bears the burden 8/1/14
Fact discovery cutoff and completion 8/29/14
Deadline for motions to compel discovery 9/5/14

To suggest IDCC has used "patent hold-up" in negotiations with Nokia, with Nokia's well documented actions over the past 15 years when I initially invested, causes me substantial concerns about technology implementers.
In reading ALJ Essex thus far, I believe reverse hold-up will be determined and disclosed in the RID. Each party has till 2/24 to file their respective replies and "The parties should confer before any said filings." I look forward to the conclusion of this infestigation(sic) and the "rats" to abandon ship soon.

Microsoft considers free versions of Windows Phone and Windows RT to battle Android
Microsoft is considering making Windows Phone and Windows RT available free of charge to device makers. Sources familiar with Microsoft’s plans have revealed to The Verge that free future versions are under serious consideration by OS chief Terry Myerson. We understand the plans aren’t fully set in stone, but they’re part of broader changes Myerson is planning for the future of Windows. Microsoft is currently planning and developing future updates, including a "Threshold" update that’s designed to bring back the Start menu and provide more flexibility for desktop users.
We’re told that the free versions of Windows RT and Windows Phone would likely be delivered with the Threshold range of updates. Microsoft currently licenses Windows RT and Windows Phone software to device makers, and the majority of its Windows revenue comes from OEMs who build systems based on Windows 8 and Windows RT. While Microsoft generates revenue from Windows Phone licenses, Nokia dominates shipments of Microsoft-powered handsets with over 80 percent market share. Microsoft’s acquisition of Nokia’s phone business removes the largest source of potential Windows Phone license revenue.
POTENTIAL PLANS BACKED BY ADS AND SUBSCRIPTION REVENUE
We understand that any decision to axe the license fees for Windows Phone and Windows RT would be backed by a push for revenue from Microsoft’s apps and services. Microsoft has been experimenting with ads in Windows 8 apps, and any associated revenue from those apps and the company’s built-in Bing search results would help offset the lack of license fees. Microsoft would also push consumers to subscribe to services like SkyDrive, Office, and Skype for additional revenue.
Microsoft’s thinking behind free versions of Windows is clear: drive demand and combat Android. At present, Nokia dominates Windows Phone, and PC makers have started to ignore Windows RT in favor of Windows 8 and Android. While device makers are flocking to Android for tablets and smartphones, Microsoft and Nokia are the only companies left shipping Windows RT products. Free versions of Windows RT and Windows Phone would likely push device makers to produce more products and in turn improve developer interest in building applications for the platforms.
MICROSOFT IS TARGETING GOOGLE AND ANDROID
Free platforms would target Android, and potentially Google’s ad revenue — something Microsoft is clearly interested in achieving. Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has previously admitted that consumer services "are tough," and any prospect for generating revenue is fraught with competition. "Other than phone companies, there really aren't many technology and large subscription consumer services, and outside of Google and maybe Facebook it is hard to find a business that is significant that is ad-funded," said Ballmer recently.
Previous reports have suggested that Myerson has been in discussions with HTC to cut or eliminate Windows Phone license fees if the software is loaded on HTC’s Android devices. It’s not clear if HTC has agreed to such a plan, but we’re told these efforts all align with the main principle of pushing free Windows Phone and Windows RT software to OEMs. Microsoft now has to decide whether free versions of Windows Phone and Windows RT are worth the risk worth the risk — and the return.

InterDigital Announces Pricing of Private Offering of $200 Million of 2.50% Senior Convertible Notes
KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. --(BUSINESS WIRE)-- InterDigital, Inc. (NASDAQ: IDCC) announced today the pricing of its private offering of $200 million aggregate principal amount of 2.50% Senior Convertible Notes due 2016, which was upsized from the previously announced $150 million offering, to be sold to qualified institutional buyers in reliance on Rule 144A under the Securities Act of 1933, as amended. InterDigital® has granted the initial purchaser of the notes a 13-day option to purchase up to an additional $30 million aggregate principal amount of notes, solely to cover over-allotments, if any. The offering is expected to close on April 4, 2011 , subject to certain closing conditions.
The notes will be InterDigital's senior unsecured obligations. The notes will pay interest semi-annually in cash on March 15 and September 15 at a rate of 2.50% per year, and will mature on March 15, 2016 . The holders of the notes will have the ability to require InterDigital to repurchase all or any portion of their notes for cash in the event of a fundamental change. In such case, the repurchase price would be 100% of the principal amount of the notes being repurchased plus any accrued and unpaid interest.
Prior to December 15, 2015 , the notes will be convertible only upon the occurrence of certain events and during certain periods, and thereafter, at any time until the business day preceding the maturity date. The notes will be convertible at an initial conversion rate of 17.3458 shares of InterDigital common stock per $1,000 principal amount of the notes, which is equivalent to an initial conversion price of approximately $57.65 , which represents a 32.5% conversion premium to the closing sale price of $43.51 per share of InterDigital common stock on the NASDAQ Global Select Market on March 29, 2011 . In addition, following certain corporate transactions that occur prior to the maturity date, InterDigital will, in certain circumstances, increase the conversion rate for a holder that elects to convert its notes in connection with such a corporate transaction. Upon any conversion, the conversion obligation will be settled in cash up to the principal amount and, to the extent of any excess over the principal amount, in shares of InterDigital common stock.
In connection with the offering of the notes, InterDigital has entered into a privately negotiated convertible note hedge transaction with an affiliate of the initial purchaser of the notes (the "hedge counterparty"). The convertible note hedge transaction will cover, subject to customary anti-dilution adjustments, the number of shares of InterDigital common stock that will initially underlie the notes. InterDigital has also entered into a privately negotiated warrant transaction with the hedge counterparty relating to the same number of shares of InterDigital common stock. The strike price of the warrant transaction will initially be approximately $66.35 per share, which represents a 52.5% premium to the closing sale price of InterDigital common stock on the NASDAQ Global Select Market on March 29, 2011 . In addition, if the initial purchaser exercises its over-allotment option to purchase additional notes, InterDigital expects to sell additional warrants and to use a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the additional notes and from the sale of the corresponding additional warrants to enter into an additional convertible note hedge transaction. The convertible note hedge transactions are expected to reduce the potential dilution with respect to InterDigital common stock upon conversion of the notes. However, the warrant transactions will have a dilutive effect to the extent that the market price per share of InterDigital common stock exceeds the applicable strike price of the warrants on any expiration date of the warrants.
In connection with establishing its initial hedge of the convertible note hedge transactions and warrant transactions and concurrently with, or shortly after, the pricing of the notes, the hedge counterparty and/or its affiliate expect to purchase InterDigital common stock in open market transactions and/or privately negotiated transactions and/or enter into various cash-settled derivative transactions with respect to InterDigital common stock. In addition, the hedge counterparty and/or its affiliate may modify its hedge positions by entering into or unwinding various derivative transactions with respect to InterDigital common stock and/or by purchasing or selling InterDigital common stock in open market transactions and/or privately negotiated transactions following the pricing of the notes from time to time (and are likely to do so during any conversion period related to a conversion of notes). Any of these hedging activities could also increase, decrease or prevent a decrease in, the market price of InterDigital common stock.
InterDigital estimates that the net proceeds from the offering of the notes will be approximately $193.4 million (or approximately $222.5 million if the initial purchaser exercises its over-allotment option in full), after deducting the initial purchaser's fees and estimated offering expenses. In addition, InterDigital expects to receive proceeds from the sale of the warrants described above. InterDigital expects to use a portion of the net proceeds from the offering of the notes and the proceeds from the sale of the warrants to fund the cost of the convertible note hedge transaction. InterDigital expects to use the remaining $183.9 million of net proceeds from the offering of the notes for general corporate purposes, which may include, among other things: acquisitions of intellectual property-related assets or businesses or securities in such businesses; capital expenditures; and working capital.
The notes and the shares of InterDigital common stock issuable upon conversion, if any, have not been registered under the Securities Act or applicable state securities laws and may not be offered or sold in the United States except pursuant to an exemption from the registration requirements of the Securities Act and applicable state securities laws.
This press release shall not constitute an offer to sell or the solicitation of an offer to buy these securities, nor shall there be any sale of these securities in any state in which such offer, solicitation or sale would be unlawful prior to registration or qualification under the securities laws of any such state.
Where have we heard of a 'Internet of Things' before?
SAN FRANCISCO, Nov 5 (Reuters) - Intel Corp has set up a business division aimed at making money out of a new technology wave that can link up a host of electronic devices.
The Santa Clara, California chipmaker and other technology companies are betting that what they call the 'Internet of Things' - a trend toward connecting everything from bathroom scales to skyscraper ventilation systems via the Internet - will create massive demand for new electronics and software.
As Intel strives to make sure it's not caught off-guard by future technology trends, its new 'Internet of Things Solutions Group' will report directly to Chief Executive Brian Krzanich, according to Doug Davis, the group's general manager.
"Krzanich is saying, 'I want a higher level of focus on this to help us grow it and put the level of attention on it that it deserves,'" Davis told Reuters on Tuesday.
The world's biggest chipmaker, Intel dominates the personal computer industry but was slow to adapt its chips to be suitable for smartphones and tablets. A three-decade Intel manufacturing veteran who took over as CEO in May, Krzanich has made developing mobile chips a higher priority within Intel.
In September, Krzanich announced that Intel was working on a new line of ultra-small and ultra-low-power microchips for wearable devices like smartwatches and bracelets, along with an ingestible version for biomedical uses.
The new solutions group combines an existing Intel business focused on chips for commercial and industrial devices with Intel's Wind River subsidiary, which sells software for commercial and industrial devices.
"We're pulling together a couple of pieces that are already doing well and we want to accelerate those efforts. This creates a primary focus around 'Internet of Things,'" Davis said.
