WHIZKNOCK, I only looked through the past 5 years or so at companies which would fit his health care system.
I am SURE that Dr. Soon-Shiong has helped MANY public companies, either financially or through advice or through contacts. I would imagine that he will continue to help many public companies in the future, too.
However, if NeoMedia is necessary for the health care system, as has been oft-repeated; I think this will be a private company eventually.
Can people make money on NEOM before then? Sure, lots of ways to do that. I just don't think shares in NEOM are going to make people millionaires.
All The Best
Just a guess. I was lucky enough to jump on board for a little run and then jump off with a profit.
I was trying to consider if I should do anything long term, and came up with my own answer.
Of course, I could be totally wrong. But I think it all comes down to control; and the Good Doctor will not allow the SEC, Congress, or anyone else the option of 'ruining' his plan. After all, he has been through the whole health care routine - being an intern all the way up. He knows how paperwork and regulations can hamper the physician. He won't have the control he needs unless it is a completely private organization.
All The Best
Just can't stand the multitude screaming what someone else should do with their money. On IHub you'll almost always be right if you go by the motto, "The ones yelling are doing the selling."
A Dose of Reality For NEOM Shareholders:
Not all links are provided, but I have them available in my research.
GENERAL FACTS:
1. Dr. Soon-Shiong has previously announced he is assembling an advanced-care health network.
2. The main “parent” companies Dr. Soon-Shiong are assembling for this system are: NantWorks, NantHealth, NantMobile, NantHoldings & NantInternational.
3. Among Dr. Soon-Shiong’s companies which get involved in the public companies are: Global Grid, California Capital Equity,
4. Just a few of the companies which he has acquired/controls in this health network:
Institute for Advanced Health
Lambda Rail
LookTel
Ziosoft
Vodafone
Dossia
Toumaz
Vitality
Boston Life Labs
Strand Diagnostics
Net.Orange
Equipois
NanoH2O
Ingenious Innovations Group
Especially (for our purposes) publicly-traded companies:
Conjuchem
APP
KeyOn
5. Now, Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong/Global Grid LLC purchased 29% of common shares of NeoMedia on open market March 16-18, 2012.
Interesting link for recent events with Dr. Soon-Shiong:
http://us.generation-nt.com/s/patrick+soon+shiong/
REASONABLE ASSUMPTIONS:
1. Since Dr. Soon-Shiong has patented his health “system,” AND since he is investing a few billion dollars in it – I think it only reasonable that he would want complete control over his entire health system – hence the “need” even for Lamda Rail, he is building his own, personal internet. He will not rely on Google, Bing, etc. to allow them to mess with his machine.
2. Each company which he deems integral to his health system are simply components to the overall machine. Thus, he needs complete control over these companies – without it, his entire “machine” will break down. The whole is much more important than the individual parts.
3. The more progress he makes with his “machine,” the more likely the new “parts” will cost.
4. Some companies will cooperate and work together (like Cysco with Lamda Rail and the multiple independent companies in Dossia – I haven’t bothered to examine Ericsson’s ties with Soon-Shiong yet).
5. Once the “machine” is completely assembled and operating well, he can charge what he wishes for other companies/professionals/health insurance companies to cooperate, since it will most likely be the “crown jewels” of all health care systems.
PRIVATE COMPANIES:
The man is a genius, let’s face it. He can also recognize talent and he is rapidly capitalizing many private companies who have a unique niche in the market or have the potential to bring a unique specialty to his health care system. He is funding them and giving them governance and letting them grow, and many are becoming profitable.
He is the private company’s generous benefactor!
PUBLIC COMPANIES:
However, I find a common thread, so far, in the public companies which Dr. Soon-Shiong acquires/controls.
CONJUCHEM
Conjuchem was a publicly-traded company in Canada. It went bankrupt and now it is a private company relocated in LA – privately-owned by Soon-Shiong.
Announces bankruptcy 7/21/2010

APP PHARMACEUTICALS
APP underwent a successful IPO in 2001. It became Abraxis and then they spun off the APP Pharmaceuticals in 2007.

APP Pharmaceuticals is a big deal, they are the primary producer of heparin (for diabetes) in the US. Within a year they went through a reverse merger with Fresenius Kabi Pharmaceutical Holding, Inc. (Just so happens that Soon-Shiong is on the BOD).

The shareholders who owned APP stock in 2008 – 3 YEARS LATER – were finally looking forward to receiving a good payout.

There is an advantage at trying to get some of this block of shares gone early - it may run better when news is announced, rather than Asher (?) put up a giant wall then.

23k shares (just today) would have been 2.3m before the split.
I can only think of 1 institution that has that many shares and doesn't care what price they sell for...
In fact, they may even be a little teed off that they went through the split.
No worries here, I know what I am expecting.

Do you think that it may indicate that those trades were phantom trades?
Did anyone on the board pick up any shares today?
I was taken by surprise and never had a bid in today, but I won't be taken by surprise tomorrow!

No, I'm not driving the bus...the bell hasn't even rung to get out of school yet!
I am unable to check L2, but I would be interested to know how the trading process was on the way to our current level. I have kept some money aside waiting to help "kick-start" things when the 8-K is announced. Now I'm wondering if I should just go ahead and try to tap into the current price; it's lower than most of the shares I purchased.
I only use automatic sell/buy triggers on the big boards and I readjust them every morning. I absolutely will not use them on the pennies for this very reason.
After today, there is only 1 more trading day until we are in April.

Just a few thoughts on today's action so far...
*ZF did not say he was liquidating most of his position, he said it was already done. IMO he felt a need to express his position before the CC. I believe he is an extremely intelligent man with a need to always be right; thus the need to explain his position before the CC. To me, it was not about market manipulation. For someone who dislikes traders so much, I think he has too much integrity to try to manipulate pps.
*I doubt KT is addicted to IHub and reads all the posts, but I do think he knows the effect that IHub has on the stock. Quite an obvious indicator today, don't you think? The stock pps had already pretty much corrected by the time KT's email was posted.
*It bothered me reading about the production being ramped up, but when I consider he is a lawyer and most lawyers find safety in repeating their non-descriptive words and phrases; I think he was just repeating the 'company line' - until that company line changes tomorrow (hopefully).
*Any reader should understand the difference between the smoke screens which are put up by the negative people and the refortification of positive ones. We only have the knowledge that the company chooses to give us.
*I will place more confidence in what has been printed and reported in articles by journalists who have had the forum to ask questions much more than anonymous posters on an internet chat board.
I still expect good news before the CC and good news in it.

Thanks for the question HANDYHINTZ. I think the general rule of thumb you give is correct for most penny stocks - they all find a lower bottom than their pre-split condition. The problem for that is, IMO, that they only address their pps, not their fundamentals.
However, when you add the dynamic of a reverse merger into the mix, everything depends on the strength of the new company, its management, product, etc.
But, like BOOGIEBNOODLE (love it!) and SNIZZLE already pointed out, all bets are off with a R/M added to the mix.
YES, I have one example which I have seen. Unfortunately, I didn't get in BEFORE the R/M, but I got in afterward when I saw the new company and its product.
CHYM announced R/M on June 7 (they were actually sub-penny) and they ran to over .03 (trying to go from memory) on an absolutely unknown and brand-new company. They built their website, added extremely competent management and in OCT did a name change, ticker change and 1:110 reverse split. They were also basically non-tradeable for 20 calendar days, as well.
While volume has not been achieved yet, they are just getting ready to sell their amazing technology and I am convinced they will be on a larger exchange this year. Pre-split price before R/M was > $1, they have not dropped below that R/M price. [They have a big presentation today at the United States Trade and Development Agency today in Arlington, VA to (among others) Chinese government officials.] These guys were unknown when the R/M happened and within months did their own R/S.
So, a strong company coming into a company which has already 'survived' a R/S with a float of 5.6m......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As far as sustainability - it all depends who the "new tenants" of SNRY will be.

Hey, DOD. I got some and made a little on a run, but I have been on the sidelines for a few days. Way too much to figure out what is going on here, for me. It has been interesting reading the various posts. Seems like the general IHub rule is effect here, "The ones doing the yelling are usually doing the selling."
I think the trading is showing dilution, but I am also very interested to see if the reason for the dilution is almost intentional to allow the Dr. to buy more shares and ultimately control the company.
Question for Real Longs: Why did the former CEO leave and is there a connection on his departure and the Dr.'s buying on the open market?
Fully expected to see .02's today - just not so early. Staying tuned because this one may take some time and I may like to get in at a lower position.

SMKY has surpassed a couple of the "common benchmarks" for pinkies, IMO.
#1 - They are fully reporting to SEC. This includes audited financials. The 'stinky pinkies' can do what they wish when they wish without impunity. Yes, I know the QB is not QX and the QX is not NASDAQ, but they are a fully reporting company. I celebrated when they uplisted to the QB and will do so with each successive tier.
#2 - They have a verified product. Not only a legitimate product but it is a product which by itself induces buyers to repurchase more. The stinkies 'claim' products, R&D, services, technology, etc...always 'coming soon' like the next movie trailer.
#3 - They have a CEO that has (so far) kept his word and been transparent in his business plan. [BTW, not claiming he won't continue to do so, just trying to be objective] This is the most important factor, to me, when searching for companies on this level. He has consistently attempted to retain shareholder value as a primary consideration.
#4 - They have a business plan and are both aggressively and creatively following that plan. [Here is where some may disagree, IMO. Where I see an individual who is savvy enough to adjust his plan to the market, some may see a CEO who seems to lack stability in his plan.] It is my personal assessment that Mr. Feintech has acquired a lot of wisdom and a feel for the consumer through his decades of experience and is quickly adapting to the consumer's choices and needs rather than stubbornly refusing to adapt to an evolving market. [See Eastman-Kodak for how 'successful' that move is, once the pearl of technology, now in bankruptcy.] The oven lease financing was very creative - no offense, but most people would not picture a man of his age to roll out such a novel method of financing!
MORE HURDLES/TESTS TO COME:
#1 - Revenue The bottom line is very important. I appreciate the way honest manner in which the CEO declared in the chat yesterday that our pps is properly valued for what the company is right now. Sales is the lifeblood of any company, especially one which appeals to the food consumer.
#2 - Long-Term Financing No company like SMKY, which has recently moved from a development-stage company to a production-stage company, can survive for too long without proper reserves. More often than not, more companies enter the 'toxic financing' point here than earlier because so many CEO's believe they are SO CLOSE to becoming profitable that they gamble their future on immediate success. Sometimes it works, often it does not, but it's always a gamble.
#3 - Profitability I already mentioned revenues, but this is different. Revenues can increase, but so can overhead. As each quarter passes and the balance sheet continues to improve, so does the overall health of the company. Whether it is immediately realized in the pps, doesn't matter as much to me - because sooner or later the market will "catch-up" to solid fundamentals.
#4 - Appeal When a hedge fund with a proven track record or a high-level investor "puts his money on the line" and invests - it gives instant credibility in the eyes of investors in general. Sometimes it is a famous personality who endorses the product (ever watch TV?); perhaps it is some world news which causes the stock to run; maybe it is being mentioned on television stock shows - there are many avenues which make a stock attractive. There are many solid stocks, which just don't seem to have the 'It Factor.'
I am looking forward to the first two hurdles being cleared within a quarter (two at most), which will then set up SMKY to begin to eye the others.

I would agree, but you are assuming it is a person...
What if it is an entity or a MM who is the sponsor for the company?
Does anyone know who the sponsor is for SNRY? I've never really thought about it before.
Now that SNRY"D" is OFFICIALLY a low-floater, there will be some violent swings both up and down. That's what low-floater's do and why many look for them. Every individual trading in penny stocks claim to want low-floaters because they think they only go up. Not true, they go both ways - and very rapidly.
Just don't tie your emotions to the pps; any price we see (both UP AND DOWN) doesn't matter a bit until the 8-K.
Then it gets real interesting. That's when the pps will be sustained.
It could just be me, but looking at the action post R/S it seems like some person/institution WANTS us at .10 for some reason. Each day we close around there is a good "setup" for the 8-K on the next day, IMO.

http://www.financialmirror.com/blog-details.php?nid=918
Right you are, MATTY FRESH, 7m shares issued, but only 5.6m outstanding. Very small float.
From 10-Q filed 3/20/2012:
OK, if that's the way you feel about it...
I'm officially taking back my BOOOOOYYEEAAAHHHH!
Sheesh! Instead of being thankful that a program (like THE Ohio State University) SO RICH in tradition and history would willfully and purposely deflect some of that great notoriety and humbly invite a young, upstart, unknown, backwater program to share the spotlight with them...they give proof of the immaturity of their athletic legacy by rejoicing and gloating over the few trophies they have won!
In Columbus, each time another national trophy arrives (from many, many intercollegiate programs) we simply yawn and say, "Put it in the back with all the others."
No, I don't think so either. Sorry if I came off sounding that way.
I was simply trying to think ahead to the constant "same old, same old" arguments we hear ad nauseum about Kim's past CC's where the constant complaint has been voiced where "nothing was actually said."
Personally, I think if Kim would file an 8-K that KBLB was being bought out by DuPont (or SIAL, etc.) for $5 a share, some here would still complain that he should have signed the deal in blue ink instead of black.
All The Best
Hey, CBM, great questions. While I am absolutely not an authority in these matters, here is my 'take' from the chat in response to the questions.
1. Mr. Feintech made it clear that the Iowa processor was the first acquisition to make and that they had already signed a MOU with them. It would be a cash deal. The second acquisition would be the meat processor in MA. Cash deal, no shares involved. The last acquisition would be the Vancouver fish processor - that would be cash & shares. My best guess is that if SMKY has already been able to raise $15m (minimum) and purchase 2 profitable companies, by that time the shares would be worth much more. I agree with you, just one acquisition would be very impressive - so by the third acquisition, the shares would not be 'speculative' shares any longer. [I agree with you, right now they are - no other way to look at it. But personally, that's why I bought now because of the speculative nature being still early.]
2. I don't believe Mr. Feintech is relying on an internet chat board to do his DD on the background of these potential acquisitions. [Sounds almost insulting, to me - but, I understand you being red instead of green right now.] With only a MOU on the first and a verbal understanding on the other 2, the prospectus (most likely) would be public AFTER actual acquisition and not BEFORE.
3. Going by memory, can't remember much said about oven leases. Although at .08 I am still green in my first 2 batches of shares and red in my 3rd - I still don't care as much about pps as much as solid steps toward product revenue. 1st acquisition is vital to price of product, so therefore it must get done.
4. I was surprised at the halt in production, too. Didn't want to dominate the chat to ask another question. I'm only assuming that surplus of product is pretty high due to WW marketing has not been what was expected [at least not what I expected, anyway]. An email to corporate may seem to be in order for that one.
5. I don't know about you being a sucker in other deals, but in this one I am in the boat with you. I didn't buy on hype or just because the CEO joins the board occasionally. I bought on viability of product. [I was impressed in the way Mr. Feintech answered the questions - no hype, just straight facts. Hype came from the responses, not the CEO] I was encouraged by the fact that the very first $1m goes to POS sales force to sell product. With that $1m expected within weeks, that means a sales force will be selling product - vital.
6. Sorry, on these boards much of what we get IS penny chatter; it's the nature of the beast. Agreed, revenue results are necessary for bottom line.
The only nuance I took away was the solid, predetermined and "soon-to-be-commencing" business plan from an honest CEO. I don't care about pps, it will take care of itself. It was announced that the active float is now 14.5 million. That has been obvious to me that the float has been increasing and that is why the pps is reacting as it has. I am always nervous when I hear "active float" vs. "actual float" but knew that before I bought.
All The Best
Hey, DADOFDUCK, Yes, I am keeping some funds for Friday (or a few days after). I will act accordingly to PR's (or lack thereof) and to the pps reaction to the CC. Like ES1, OILSTRIKE and others have said, just because we don't know what is happening doesn't mean that nothing is happening.
Of course, I will be highly disappointed if we do not get clear, concise updates of commercialization. However, if we are simply waiting on more Monster Silk to be produced to be at the commercial levels, no problem.
In the extreme possibility that Kim merely talks without really "saying anything" I will see how the market reacts and probably sell about 40% on the way down in order for me to buy about 60%-70% more. I'm with ES1, simply finding ways to acquire more.
Since the PNAS articles have validated what naysayers have derided to be only "claims" - I have begun to think of KBLB more like a mining company. Now that the drilling results have proven the ore exists, which will be the best way to get the precious minerals out of the ground. The silk is our ore, the ZF "drilling results" have shown the world that the "ore" is there. While I would be surprised and disappointed if the overall plan has not already been put in effect - I'm not walking away from a silk "gold mine" simply because the Monster Silk "gold" is not being removed in large quantities yet.

If I were to let my mind wander and run a little wild, I would imagine that the 10-K (also due Friday) is not going to look very attractive at all (to investors) and Kim is going to file it THU or FRI. The market will drop, expectedly, and then some commercialization news will be released which will initiate a "counter-attack" of sorts to the pullback - building momentum all weekend.
This is not a predicition, simply a possibility.

Either way, if he paid into the .06's then he's not going to dump it all in the .03's.
