Maybe you should try their hum bow. If you read this forum, you would realize that "Kihano" is the alternate spelling provided by Comcast. Many viewers subscribe to this cable service. Many viewers use captioning to better understand dialogue. Many viewers see Juan Quijauno's name spelled "Kihano," and google the flamboyant man in the chopper with 180 million dollar gold mines. This will allow them to finally stumble upon Medinah. It's a real gold mine.
Thousands of curious Gold Rush fans, wondering who the heck Don Kihano is, will be met with Medinah Minerals in their search results. They’ll find an up and coming junior with a producing property poised with a mega deal just about to happen with a publicly traded major. Along with an escalating share price, that’s a formula for a great “next week” for MDMN.
History. We now have a producing mine. A joint venture with a publicly traded company is the next milestone. The share price has begun to reflect the current developments and will continue to rise with each bit of new information put forth in the Shareholders Updates. JJ relented finally to the will of the Board and to the shareholders, resulting in development of the LDM and a standard industry deal for the ADL. That's money in the bank and as far as I'm concerned, that's far from being funny.
Could it be that he's simply looking forward to Q3 financials and beyond? That shouldn't be hard to understand. When the company spoke of dividends in the July 25, 2013 Shareholders Update, the term used to qualify such dividends was future consideration: "Company officials will also discuss future consideration when, if prudent, that anticipated cash flowing receivership could possibly create a future dividend distribution for Medinah Minerals, Inc. shareholders of record."
"Don Kihano" was the alternate spelling offered by Comcast's captioning for the hearing impaired.
Lovin’ the mountain even more despite the BS.
Gold Rush 3 reinforces my strongly held belief that Medinah is the furthest thing possible from a P & D. An effective P & D starts with the acquisition of a shell company, builds up a bogus story with perhaps some small basis in fact and then quickly executes. This execution usually consists of persistent emailing of spam from free subscripton based Penny newletters. Outlandish claims about the company or its stock are then made in a quick series of news releases that do not stand up to investigation. Of course, the company officers do not usually stand up to investigation either. Recent financials are absent and the novice investor finds no way to do proper due diligence as he is bombarded with a constant message of “buy now before it’s too late.” Bewilderment of the novice investor is key to a successful P & D.
This doesn’t sound like the 24 year slow moving saga of Medinah where the company could seemingly care less about promotion or the current share price.
I believe Gold Rush 3 went to an alluvial beach deposit and to claims held by JJ. He clearly enjoyed showing off a little. Not sure of the Jota and hence the Medinah connection. Anyone googling “Don Kihano” would draw a blank. I can’t imagine that this was designed as an effort to promote the company. The whole thing was "high camp" as it was called in the '60's. Onward and upward as they say!
Don Kihano? Prior to the chopper coming in to view, a few comments sputtered by the hapless crew summed up episode 3 of Gold Rush South America best: “This is ridiculous” and “This is the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen.”
A guy by the name of Nelson is the contact for equipment...Driving up to the gate of the Ensacola mine above La Serena..
Just now tuning in halfway through the show...PDT, so a little later.
Well now, not all penny stocks are on the pink sheets, and not all small caps are scams. You quote: “Such stocks can be highly volatile and subject to manipulation by stock promoters and pump and dump schemes. Such stocks present a high risk for investors, who are often lured by the hope of large and quick profits.”
To quote another source: “Many penny stocks are legitimate businesses, but they are almost always undercapitalized and not yet successful in their industry. If they were industry leaders, they wouldn't be penny stocks.”
There are many examples of rags to riches companies, including Pier 1, Monster Beverage, True Religion and others that got their start in this market. There must be a place for this market in the investment world. Perhaps someday it will be said: "Look where Medinah got its start!"
These MM games will be a distant memory once we leave pennyland. And leave we will. The promise that this investment affords is just incredible.
Very interesting read
I'm reading higher share prices...Coming right up!
Yep. Most thought the show to be "a flash in the Pan," hoping that the company name might be dropped. Something that might be of interest, perhaps. I haven't even found time to watch it and didn't bother to record it. Judging from this discussion, nothing was missed.
I honestly don't know what the show will be about but my guess is that more than one location will be featured. The hapless crew will try their luck and probably strike out in a few different places.
No. My guess is that the Hoffman crew will try their luck at working beach placers at some other location in Chile. Gold recovery through the processing of "black sands" in beach deposits have yielded a lot of gold through history. Probably the most famous example of this is the beach at Nome, Alaska.
Yes, you get the popcorn and I'll take care of the drinks. Oh frick! How do I fit the wife into this picture?
In season four of Gold Rush, the episodes are titled respectively:
"The Dirt: The Manventure" August 2, 2013
"South America: Peruvian Gold" August 2, 2013
"South America: “Chilean Gold" August 9, 2013
"South America: Guyanese Gold" August 16, 2013
-Courtesy of Wikipedia
It is "South America: “Chilean Gold" airing tonight, August 9, 2013 that will feature JJ flying over the Jota claims in a chopper. Who knows if Medinah’s name will be dropped.
Many of us will tune in to check on the Hoffmans luck in trying dry placer recovery in the arid Atacama. Should be interesting even if the returns in their pans are minimal.
If Todd Hoffman utters his catchphrase “what the frick” one more time though, I’m turning it off.
That's right, Carl! How close are we to the "golden zone" at DDH-2? The excitement is building....
I'll be laughing all the way to the bank.
And the verdict is...We've got a heckuva mountain and we've already began to mine it. We have just started to monetize this resource and the future looks great!
Bought it and forgot it many moons ago. Got a quote just now and what the hay??? What's causing this spike?
Oh boy....Somethin's brewin'
Patientgal, You ROCK!!
Keep up the great posting...
Defining "cloud on contract" is now cleared up! Sorry that I'm no legal beagle. I was going off of memory which is obviously becoming flawed at my advanced age. I still don't buy your story.
I believe a cloud refers to a “hold up” resulting from a misspelling or error within the text of a deed or title. Since there are over 1500 individual claims on the ADL, that would make for a very cloudy forecast. I’m not buying your story. Sunny days ahead and all clear for MDMN in my estimation.
Lovin' this stock again!
A newcomer should not spend a dime until they have spent a great deal of time on due diligence. What several very reputable geologists and consultants have discovered and said about this resource is very encouraging.
On the other hand we are just beginning to understand the dynamics behind past failed deals. That is another aspect of this investment, one, that to date, has indeed proven discouraging.
To answer your question: Where will a penny a share (9 million dollars) come from? Production from an expanded LDM and funds dependent on the deal about to be made for the ADL next month.
From the July 25, 2013 shareholders update: “It should be noted that none of the proposed agreements involving the outright sale of the Altos properties will be entertained. Rather, a continuing joint venture partnership involving Medinah Mining Chile, with an ongoing net smelter/free carried participating interest in the entire Altos de Lipangue development, will be paramount.”
The language surrounding the talk of a dividend is guarded: “Company officials will also discuss future consideration when, if prudent, that anticipated cash flowing receivership could possibly create a future dividend distribution for Medinah Minerals, Inc. shareholders of record.”
Cash flowing receivership. I believe that is dependent on what kind of NSR or FCI is worked out. That is what the dividend would primarily be derived from. And possibly from an "up front" payment from the ADL deal. That has been suggested by others.
The future is the future. It doesn’t mean immediate future. And a penny is what could be considered a minimum dividend, perhaps issued yearly if not quarterly. A fractional dividend may work but probably would not carry the same clout with the investment crowd. “Token” gold was suggested by me, because, unlike cash, this would be nearly impossible for the airshare creators to duplicate.
Thanks for your reply and good wishes.
I've never advocated "betting the farm" on this or any other speculative stock and am very dismayed when amateurs "pot it" on any penny stock, usually acting on a tip given in good faith from a friend or family member. It's really heartbreaking when we hear stories of people who are betting the rent or their entire savings on inherently risky investments.
Speaking for myself, less than 10 per cent of my risk capital is devoted to these issues, and that represents less than 5 per cent of my net worth. Some would consider that too much exposure, but what the heck, this is where the action is! My action this year in pennies has seen a 35 bagger, a triple bagger, a couple doubles, one scam loser and another clunker that fell below the trips. My average buy in on MDMN has been a nickel, so it's break even at this point on Medinah.
I think Medinah will be a solid 10 bagger from here if everything falls into place. A dollar may even be possible further out in the future or in the event of a squeeze.
There are many who believe primarily in the resource value of this company and who, in turn, strive to let the personalities be who they are. That's fine unless an impediment results in bringing forth the monetization and development of this resource. I see the appointment of our new CEO as a wonderful step in the right direction.
Might I add that I find your avatar to be truly nightmarish...
Of course that's ridiculous! I'm thinking more along the lines of a small "souvenir" vial of gold for every say, 100,000 shares. Followed of course, by the penny per share cash dividend discussed here and elsewhere.
I can speak for many when I say I am very impressed with the direction MDMN has taken recently since the appointment of Mr. Tenney as CEO. With his skill sets, the members of the BOD will be allowed to focus on their respective duties more fully and also be given a chance to shine and to hopefully make our company everything we have envisioned. One of these men, the talented Les Price, has received mention. Speaking of….
Is Les Price a lily white unsullied pure as the driven snow Pollyanna goody two shoes little Lord Fauntleroy? No. Do you want a man of his experience on our side when dealing with the harsh realities of business? Yes.
Most hard driven men of power and influence are not without controversy. Take the men of President Reagan’s administration. This man, who gave us “morning in America,” and who many consider a political savior, was surrounded by people who got his agenda accomplished, sometimes the hard way:
“The presidency of Ronald Reagan in the United States was marked by multiple scandals, resulting in the investigation, indictment, or conviction of over 138 administration officials, the largest number for any US president” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reagan_administration_scandals
Many of those officials, like Ollie North, are at once Icons and prior defendants in courts of law.
One might dig this bit of dirt up on Mr. Price from a decade ago and run it over and over again. The man was not convicted of any “sting.”
I recently found some "dirt" on our new CEO. If you look at his background, he is about as unsullied as they come. But wait…He was once with a Port-a-Potty business. Care to do some digging there?
Onward and upward as they say…
I'd like to see div's distributed as gold from the LDM's "nugget zone." No airshare's gonna match that!
Wonder which will cover first? The small ones or the smart ones? No one wants to be left without a chair "when the music stops." Gawd, this is coming together beautifully!
An example of how the "ducks are being lined up." This thing is about to happen!
BMSN. Been long for over six months and not selling anytime soon!
Wow Jack, That's an eye-full!
We must remember that at DD hole #2, “Medinah Minerals (Chile) S.A. personnel discovered a large gold bearing quartz vein at the 67- to 69-meter depth of the drill core. This drill core material delivered spectacular gold assays.” This drilling occurred back in 1999. “Exploration was carried out under the supervision of A.C.A. Howe International, Gordon House P. Geo., and Paul Jones, Mining Engineer.”
A.C.A. Howe International re-sampled these sections and reported as follows:
“Note: one extremely high-grade, 2-meter interval with individual samples yielding 61.77 and 122.2 grams gold/tonne, respectively was returned from DM 99-02 between 68 and 70 meters. A.C.A. Howe re-assays of the secondary sample in this interval yielded 455 grams gold/tonne across 1 meter, indicating the probable nugget nature of the gold mineralization in this interval.”
Now, the only thing the doctor was commenting on was the fact that an idea of the extent of this ore body might be better determined before signing off on any deal for the greater ADL. This ore body is supposedly a part of the supergene enrichment zone. This zone lies beneath the level of the ancient water table, fairly consistent across the ADL . These zones are rather thin, naturally, in arid regions, but can be many meters thick in more temperate parts of the globe. The drilling at the Gordon Breccia did not quite reach the level of this zone.
What if this formation extends across a greater part of the ADL at depth? It may or may not, but if it is extensive, what a bonanza this could be!
One of the reasons our new CEO was brought on board was to improve communication between the BOD and shareholders. Now more than ever, the adage to discount any information not posted on the official company website should be taken seriously. Our best hope is that the message boards serve as a means to discuss full and accurate information put out by the official company spokesmen.
Of course, that leaves plenty of room for technical analysis, historical research, constructive speculation, and good storytelling.
In my estimation, Dr. DeCosta is a very nice gentleman (albeit a little long-winded at times). Many of us "geo-buffs" also share the opinion that he is “the wind beneath our wings.” It was through his posting that many became familiar with and subsequently sold on the resource value of this company.
