Merci. /eom
HA! I was "comfortable" with promo plays back when they were easy.
Those don't appear to be around anymore, and I'm thus maturing.
I haven't done my DD on this, and all me cheddar is presently spread across another cracker.
But that cracker is about to make a lot more crackers, with more cheddar...
(okay this metaphor is dying)
Anyway, this is one of the stocks that I'll be giving a serious look at IF a profit near-term in the ones I'm on.
I'll be around.
Is this the one for which you folks were waiting for several merger completion announcements?
Didn't there used to not be an E on the end of the ticker? Wasn't it just EGCT? What happened with that?
You have the mentality of a seventh grader.
DD?
Obviously it's not a DD post, but a humorous post.
Is there room for a humorous post?
Better say 'yes,' because if you say 'no,' then you've ruled out your own post, which was meant to make fun of me. Humor.
You're a waste of my time. And yet I'm replying anyway. So clearly you win. Happy?
Should be. ______ is bliss.
That is a really important question dude... er, Sir.
Every time it comes to mind I think of the SNL sketch where Will Ferrel is "Sean Mondavi," peddling his new Chardonnay by trying to take advantage of the family name, his step-uncle (or some such relation) being Robert Mondavi.
Only Sean's Chardonnay is Tequila mixed with Five-Alive, with little cereal marshmallows floating in it.
Just sayin'.
It's pragmatic and prudent to assume the worst. Especially "down here." It's good sense.
Cheepo's attitude on this point is reminiscent of one of Van's axioms.
Personally, I think that would be ideal. =)
I'd much rather be sitting on 3 million shares than 300k shares.
Just sayin.'
Absolutely not. Mastertrader promised us.
And he's a master.
And he knows more than all the longs here, despite having just arrived.
I have put my faith in him.
I realize that that would provide us - possibly - with an answer. But I don't see how it relieves Steve/SP of the practical incoherence of the two positions, i.e. inviting us to see, on the one hand, and saying they cannot say what is going on there, on the other.
A1 - forgive me if this has already come up today - as I haven't had time to look through all of today's comments. But after reading your most recent Q&A it surprised me that one of our most pressing questions was excluded. That is...
1) If advertising cannot begin until there are 5,000 rooms wired (and that is a 'necessary' condition, rather than 'sufficient,' i.e. because we do not KNOW that any random set of 5,000 cumulative rooms, from a demographic standpoint, will be enough to satisfy advertisers) then HOW is the success of the Philly install to be assessed, per the MOU???
And as long as we're asking pressing questions... how about another?
2) How can it be that, on the one hand, Steve and SP are willing to put any one of us up at the Omaha DoubleTree in order to see progress, as well as meet/speak with them, and yet they cannot tell us now what the status of the TV's/install there is? That borders on contradiction from a practical standpoint. If they're willing to have/lodge us, then they're willing for us to know what the status is there. But if they're willing for us to know what the status is there, then why are they NOT willing to TELL us what the status is there??
Nic.
Me too, but I'd like to see it drop a bit more as long as we're down here.
"one to two weeks" as the stated time frame for the merger announcement (if indeed it's not a pipe dream) seems to indicate there might be time yet for a bit more of a dip, if more folks get restless.
Hair cut? I'm presently an amputee.
Averaged at .073
Got rid of half my position today at .032 as soon as I noticed the CEO's language in the CC. Hoping to buy it back in the low .02's
So I hope you're wrong about the bounce. Or I hope you're right, but early.
I have sat here for like five minutes and I cannot follow the logic in this post.
The teens? It only saw .11, barely
Or do you mean the .01x's?
Doesn't seem like you could mean that if next you're talking about the folks that are trying to minimize their loss. You'd have to be talking about the folks that bought at the peak and are now, after the CC, worried of a further fade.
But then if you are in fact talking about the real teens, i.e. .11 and above, then how could THAT be a loading zone?
Geez. I'm lost.
Ah! Thank you A1.
So my "what if I happen to miss the buyout offer?" fear is assuaged.
Nice.
Go Buyout!
er...
I mean go TIVU!
But suppose that that acquiring company only needs x number of shares to effectually buy out. And suppose that there are (x + n) shares actually sitting out there amongst us. What then happens to the holders of the n shares?
Just admit it A1, you're Delta Force like Chuck Norris.
What were you, in Libya or something?
I understand if you can't answer that. **wink** **wink**
If that were to happen, after a suitable amount of growth on the part of Tivus, our shares really would become worth multiple dollars, no matter how diluted they were to become (up to a point, of course).
A1 (or anyone else), why do you say this?
I am still unsure of how a buyout even works with respect to us 'common' (stock) folk.
Does the buyer buy our shares?
Everyone's shares?
Only buy from some of us? If so, how? First come, first served?
If the latter, what happens to those who miss the offer?
Or do us shareholders just become shareholders of the new company?
If so, do we hold the same number of new company shares as we did TIVU shares? Or are we just exchanging for an equivalent dollar amount in the new company's shares?
I guess the summation of my confusion is just to ask precisely HOW (i.e. the mechanics) shareholders profit from a buyout.
This has come up before, I know, but I remain unclear on it.
A1, I'm assuming that you grasp all this based on your prediction above.
$FBCD I just realized that you can directly infer the success/effect of a shareholder conference call by noting the number of tautologies the CEO uses.
time is time
it is what it is
things have to take as long as they take
(sigh)
FAIL is FAIL
This FBCD tension is killing me.
After the past few weeks of nay-sayers, I'm not sure what to believe. There's all this controversy going on over whether or not FBCD has in fact even successfully acquired Super Rad.
I'm thinking, why doess SR's dang web site itself say that their ticker is FBCD?
I don't know enough about any of this to weigh in.
And I only have one CC experience, and it was awfully disappointing.
Sure would like to get my money back. But I suspect a lot of folks would too... which might end up killing a run even if it happens, no?
Just don't know what to think about this thing. Wait and see.
Another, what, 18% and we're in the .00x's
As soon as the stragglers from this recent WT herd head for the exits, you don't think we're going to slip 18%? Never mind Fall, we can do that in a day or two!
**yawn**
Don't know why you aren't just waiting for the .00x's
Ain't nothin' goin' on but the rent.
Okay, admittedly, I'm a little confused as to why I show here that someone just sold 50K shares at .005, and that we are now down sixty something percent.
No, because there were none.
Unless a $1500 purchase is 'huge' to you.
Yeah... nothing goes as expected, and that which is too good to be true, is.
I'm using TIVU as a chance to learn a lot about stuff I would not have otherwise (which is why the folks on this board RULE), and just keeping my position in my back pocket... halfway forgetting about it, and hoping to be surprised one day when the relevant factors fall into place for a run...
...which, if I understand Quinn and MT correctly, is ANY MOMENT NOW!
=P
I'm all for new folks dude. And I never implied that anyone is a pumper simply in virtue of the fact that they're new. I'm just familiar with a few of these folks from many other boards that they post on, and it's always the same with them. For them it's not a discussion board. A discussion is inter-personal. These guys are impersonal, at best, solipsistic at worst.
As I said, I don't speak for anyone else here but myself. And I'm happy to take the brunt. I find them annoying. Perhaps that's because I have a lot of experience with them from other boards.
Ultimately my opinion counts for very little here. But that's all the more reason to freely express it.
The textbook definition of 'long' does not exclude any of the properties I just attributed to MT.
As soon as updates start coming in???
You mean like Monday's and Thursday's updates? Or different ones? Perhaps by "updates" you just mean "the updates that finally send this thing northward." If so, your statement is as trivially true as "money is money." Good job.
First of all, the post was written by me, and is MY opinion. Don't attribute it to anyone else without their consent.
Second, I feel the same way about you. You clutter the board with baseless pronouncements. It's annoying, and it demonstrates a propensity to treat others as a 'means' rather than an 'ends.'
Your comments to the effect that other people know about TIVU are a red herring in the context of my point.
I can't speak to many of your points there, and after several months on the board with you I'm inclined to put a lot of stock in what you say. So I'm glad to hear that my dismissal might be precipitate. Really all I wanted was to make a horrible toilet paper analogy, and I applaud your willingness to run with it.
If it's true that institutionals generally wouldn't give pinks the time of day, then that is heartening indeed.
Yes, it does have to start somewhere... but... a couple G's? C'mon Grimes!
I didn't quite understand your reasoning on the convertible point. But that's not your fault. It's just my tenuous grasp of how convertibles work in general.
"Institutional" investors?
Um, there are folks on this board with as many shares as Grimes, or near enough.
I would think the only/important quality of institutional investors is the amount of the float they soak up.
In that regard, Grimes is a ripped, quarter square of roadside rest area toilet paper here, no?
Ouch! lol
Stellar man... just stellar.
Respect on the legwork done here.
If I'm not mistaken, we had a slight delay on the last PR didn't we? If I recall right, we had no action when it dropped, and then it suddenly moved and took us by surprise. I think we attributed it to West-coasters or some such.
The agitation in your voice is just evidence that the assessment just made of you is correct.
Talking that way to someone who has been long for more than six months, and contributed incredibly educated and acute analysis of our situation too many times to count makes you look extremely foolish.
Perhaps you need a new shepherd.
Real talk.
Would you help me out and define "churning." All I see is no one budging. Given that 'churning' sounds (to me) like it implies action, I'm confused.
What do you mean?
Gotta admit, as slowly as things are going here, it's great seeing blue/green each time I check back in. This has been a couple days now of this slow/steady crawl. If we could keep this up during these down times between PR's...
For very near future explosion!!!!
You guys are like broken records. It's so tiring.
And since the point behind your unfounded statements is to prompt people to buy, it's also insulting. As if someone can't do some DD and make an informed buying decision without the nanny-ing help of the pump clique.
(sigh)
Boring.
There's .02! Nice job everyone.
By the way, I believe that WT (the amateur hour pumper) claimed to have intel that there would be a COUPLE PR's this week. Now I trust him as far as I can throw him, but the fact is we did get a PR already. So he was either lucky, OR we have reason to believe we have news yet coming this week.
Brian,
I'd urge you to hesitate on adding some of these new folks to the list. It is, after all, a list of 'longs.' And despite what these guys say, they'll be gone in days. The thing is, they'll exit so fast that you won't be updated on the fact that they're not holding their shares any more, and then our list will be full of obsolete information that will be difficult to root out. Just a thought.
