Bloody mess, lost farms, jumping out windows...
Well, how is everybody? :-/
Remember, if it gets that bad, you can come stay at my house.
Hang in there & follow the indicators...they're all there. Don't just know the facts (charts, news, dd, et. al.), act on them. You should be reasonably prepared for the ups & downs with good diversification.
If you get trapped, preserve capital at all costs so you can come back & fight again. (I know, a tough thing to do.)
This market is due for what's happening now, no real surprise yet. Stay proactive, especially ahead of these movements (& don't get lulled to sleep...or, panic your way out).
I know some of you don't like OTCBB stocks, but you have to use all that's out there, particularly those that depend on trading for a living.
Some belweathers & a good array of small & micro-caps are the issues of the day.
Playing these ends, I have not had much to work with this week, but, I am only down $219 (kinda like having the week off, so far).
Try to keep yourself in a decent position for later this week & next. Buying oppotunities abound, so keep some capital ready (liquidity).
Now, do what Hawk said, and back away from the ledge...please.

AvonRimo, How did your election go?
One of my candidates won, one lost [or, one won & one no one, uh, no, let's see, 1 won & 1 no won...it was a split :} ].
Hidden talents: We'll have to discover them as we go. (If they're hidden, how would we know?)
Manana 'Riva
~Fredo
ATM, That's cool. I guess it's like Barrons, Nat'l. Enquirer, Star magazines...not always credible, but they get people (masses) to believe things...unfortunately.
OT: That lady is seriously stupid.
Hawk, I'll try to paint Green as much as I can (as long as I do not have to watch it dry).
Obviously, downgrades are for the "experts" to get in on the cheap, just stay nimble with the likes of SUNW. Those big techs have had me very cautious for a while now.
(Of course, if you're just trading in & out, go forth my SUNW.)
~F8 with sunglasses on
Wow, that was lifted, verbatim, from magician (even the misspelling).
ATM, I think it's the anniversary of the bubble burst (at least, the last peak day before the downturn in 2000, I believe).
Don't let them carry you away. Try to listen to news where you know the broadcasters so well, that whatever they say, you'll know how to take it. (That's why, as a teenager, I stopped watching local news. Nothing good ever came out of watching it.)
Hang tough, Fred
Yup, CYGX rereleased...eom
I think we'll just plop along on the bottom for a bit, but, things look good going into next week (better than I originally thought for mid-March).
Gee, don't hang on a hook voluntarily. Only hang when you have no choice, but, do it in a more comfortable position. Never worry unless it motivates you to do something positive.
~F8+
CYGX moving well on Frankfurt Exchange (up .10). eom
So, Rheeman, you're not sure, or, it all looks good from here...?
:)
Since I don't expect a major decline quite yet, I'm going with the, "it all looks good from here".
Keep "Uncle" out of the house (for awhile, at least).
Best, F8
ATM, Sorry you're down so much. Hopefully, it's just nominally down, meaning that the stocks you're in are just falling with the temporary tide, and nothing too bad (unless you have some high risk fliers).
I am positioned pretty well for this market (thank goodness), but, today was like watching paint After It Dried.
I had to keep checking to make sure the market was still open, and that some of my stocks were trading. Usually, most of my stocks are pretty active. Today, somebody told my stocks to take a nap...
~F8Holiday
Wan2B, It does not seem like the news was released too widely, and we'll probably see another tomorrow.
I expect a fairly steady stream of news over the next month, while CYGX gets their ducks in a row {hmmm, sounds like something you can relate well to... }.
"Sufferin' Succotash!"

CYGX, National Cancer Institute Grant. eom
Boy, today was like an unscheduled holiday. Nuttin' goin' on anywhere...(certainly nothing much to work with).
Glad I took the day to vote, get a haircut, & run some errands.
I can get into a 4-day work week.
Somebody remember to hit the "ON" switch tomorrow...
~F8 (my portfolio changed a whopping $100 today)
:-p
Actually, I'll be heading out to vote shortly...hopefully, everything will work properly.
Also, I have, still, never used an ATM machine (yes, I'm the One).
~F8ums
Hawk, I really hope WIN can turn things around. Living around these supermarkets makes it difficult for me to put any money into them.
(I really miss Pathmark from NY.)
~F8
Thanks ATMums. eom
Just added recently. Appears their game plan might have been changed (accelerated) in some areas (particularly, sepsis).
I expect to hear more within a month. Keep a close eye, imho.
8^)
Want2B, Are you still in CYGX? eom
Want2B, Your duck is getting younger, but he has the same voice.
Oh, & sorry to hear about your HOME THEATER!
:-o
ALMI, please continue ^^^. eom
Thanks magician/richie...
That's funny...'turd, 'crap, it's all the same sh', oh, sorry.
~AmeriFred
Magician, Just to be clear, are you sure their treated as GTC, or day orders for the next day (which will cancel by day's end if not filled).
While I have much to complain about with AMTD of late, they do post a message (pretty much every time you sign on) that states after hour orders placed will fill during the next scheduled trading day.
Have hesitated to try this on AMTD, so I was wondering exactly how it's treated.
Thanks, F8
Ahhh, Toonces, you mean the tune I Played!
You picked the right tune all right...
If you remember my DJ status in an earlier life...yes, I was one of the white boys spinning on stage with Grand Master Flash & The Furious Five.
From then on, White Lines became our staple mix along with D-Train's, You're The One For Me (which was in a commercial on TV).
(Oohh, it's been a while.)
White Lines...Blow Away...
A million magic crystals...almost overnight...
Some as sweet as sugar,
Some as pure as salt.
And if you get hooked baby,
It's nobody else's fault!
So Don't Do It!
Freeze!...Rock!...Freeze!...Rock, rock, roc, roc,roc...
~DJ JR (oh boy)
Dmenace, I'll tell you, I positioned myself before going away to, at least, be partially immune to the major indices decline.
It has proven helpful now, as this down day has had little effect on my portfolio.
Actually, being in many small & micro-cap stocks, I have a decent up day.
Like a wise person once said, there is always something going up. If you're active enough in the markets, and not tied to one sector or type of stocks, you can be nimble enough to avoid many (not all) bad days.
Best, F8
Thank you Anne-Marie. You're most kind. eom
ATM, I think it was a combination of your height (long legs), looking down from afar, lol, the crossed eyes, and the quarter.
If the monkey was from Vegas, it was probably wondering where the dollars or the jewelry was...!?!
---
Unfortunately, many of the neighborhoods I grew up near, have changed (not for the better). Debbie was from a nice neighborhood (at least, at the time), though, north of the Sunrise.
(Grand Avenue, Baldwin Diner, Freeport boat launch, Escapes Night Club in Merrick, et.al....ah, I remember well.)
Oh, sorry, dmenace. How's this: :8^{
:) (oops, can't help that smile slippin' out)
ATM, One of my first serious girlfriends was from Baldwin, LI.
She had big brown eyes...
Now, about those "beedy little eyes" on that attacking monkey...what were you wearing at the time (colors, loose swinging fabric, or, not wearing as the case may be :} )? Though, I think, crossing your eyes close up may be enough of an incentive.
Got to respect that wild animal culture until you know what they're all about.
Remember, minkey see,...minkey may attack... :^o
MoonRiva, Probably because you have not been exposed to the great monkey cultures of Central America!
(Hey, I think I like this one the best, 'Riva, lol.)
Absolutely Rheeman. You take lessons & knowledge home with you that you continue to use...better than anyone or any classroom can teach you.
Especially animal culture...
:8^)~
AvonRomi, Yes, it was the highlight of my trip...
(:o)
:-/
ALMI, Finally? eom
There's a difference? Include me in that ignorance then.
Rheeman, Ya think so?
OK, but, I'd rather they just smiled or shook my hand.

Out of the three places I visited; Belize, Costa Rica, & Panama, I would have to say that Costa Rica is most prepared to accomodate tourists, as well as the best place for Americans (Canadians, et.al.) to visit and/or live.
Costa Rica has a comfortable way about the country, that maybe Belize might have in the not-too-distant future...
I did not get to San Jose ("Do you know the way to San Jose, whoa, whoa, whoa", ugh, I cannot sing), but plan on going there when I get back to Costa Rica, later this year.
Costa Rica seems to have a mix of people, including Spanish, Mexican, Jamaican, Asian, and some of us white folk, that I did not notice as much in the other places.
Panama sells quite an array of products, including clothes from Hawaii (bought me some o' dat).
My limited impression:
Belize, an upcoming place (for business & tourists) with beautiful surroundings, islands, water, and a wonder-of-the- world-type reef. (Just remember, no matter how cute the little fish may be, some have big parents.)
Costa Rica, a most settled place, good for business, real estate, parties, touring, living, and going on safaris. (Just remember, no matter how cute the little "minkeys" {baboons} may be, they are actually wild, mobile urinals.)
Panama, a good place for shopping and, of course, another wonder-of-the-world-type site, The Panama Canal. More than the other places, though, I felt a bit uncomfortable, and thought it needed the most time for development & prosperity. Of course, considering it has the most colorful & difficult history behind it, makes it understandable what they have to do to get out from its past (& military occupation). (And,just remember, no matter how cute & lifelike the statues may be, those breasts, uh, bodies, are real!)
~El Touristo, Panama Fred
----I now turn the board back over to business---sort of----
Nice Baby Barracuda:
In Belize, as I understand it, they have the second largest reef in the world. Being a scuba diver & snorkeling enthusiast, I could not wait to get out there...
I'll leave the rather boring details out about how it took 6 hours to get one hour of snorkeling in (in Belize, when they say something will take 5 or 10 minutes, they really mean, some time today...), but the views were fantastic.
Since I was probably more experienced than most of the divers on the boat (by way of age mainly, i.e., being older than most of the guides & having been diving since I was a child), I ventured out in the deeper ends of the reef. Now, the rule is to never dive (snorkel, swim) alone, so don't anyone try this at home (unless, of course, you have an ocean in your house), and, I am an expert. :-/~
The water seemed clearer than the air, and you could see amazing colors of coral & fish that went on forever... As I was "expertly" cruising up & down, I spotted a baby barracuda. Barracuda are very cool to see underwater. They stop & appear motionless, then zip around like a humming bird. Almost effortless looking, their movements are quick and calculated.
The baby barracuda slid away from me, but always keeping that one big (fish) eye on me. I tried to follow in an unthreatening manner when, I should have anticipated, we came upon mommy (or daddy) barracuda. "Oh, so sorry, did not mean to intrude on the family", was my thought as I slowly turned to swim in the direction from which I came...
Yikes! As I turned, I noticed that I was now surrounded by a school of mommy & daddy barracudas. I have been around barracuda a number of times, but, I never saw them circle around like they were doing here. Sensing I had only one way to go, and hoping it was not lunch time (feeding frenzies can be most dangerous no matter what you're swimming around, even if they're not interested in eating you, they're open mouths & sharp teeth can get you), I dove straight to the bottom.
Barracuda, like sharks, are more interested in (& less frightened of) living things near the surface. In fact, barracuda, when swimming near the surface, will swim within the rhythm of the waves to appear invisible, whether attacking or hiding from something. So, there I was at the bottom, hoping my air did not run out before the barracuda's interest in me. Slowly, some started to move away. Feeling my three minutes were about up (the average time I can hold my breath), I did a dead man's float to the surface, very slow & unthreatening (& hopefully, unnoticeable).
Back at the boat, I was telling the captain about my little adventure. He said, "There's no barracuda in the area we showed you. That's why we keep you in the shallow part of the reef. Maybe a stray baby barracuda or two, but, nothing threatening."
I said, "Yes, you're right."
Next up: Odds & Ends, and Lessons & Morals...
~F8, Snorkeling Expert, baby
Billy...Thinking about Freetrade. In the meantime, I have my guns aimed at AMTD for this upcoming week...
~Lookout F8
Ron, you're right . Also, I'm in on the Exxon/Mobil thing. (I actually started doing that a year or two ago.)
Here's to $1.39...my comfort level.
~F8 Octane
Sounds like a good idea for a board, Billy.
[One suggestion: Try & get out there & pick up a crystal ball. We're all using them now, don't you know. :) ]
Good luck there. I'll pop over...
