How soon will the ex-dividend date become public?

Record date is Friday 9/15, ex dividend date (still tbd, "normally 2 days prior") would then become Wednesday 9/13. The question is the 3 day settlement period...

Do you have to be settled by 9/13 or not. If you have to be settled by 9/13, then the last day for purchasing for dividends would be Friday 9/8.

The bottom line is the NS need to be covered in a VERY SHORT period of time!

So I would read that as an even smaller time frame for the NS to be covered...

Am I correct?

jrod, after reading the SEC website on ex-dividend dates I believe they have to cover in LESS THAN 9 trading days. If you read the example at their site (link provided below) you see that the NASD will set the ex-dividend date (which is NORMALLY 2 dates prior to the record date) and if you don't own it on that date you don't get the dividend (or in the shorts case, they will owe them to any NS not covered).

TFN signs US Carrier deal(s), and contracts with PRIDE to broadcast PRIDE events. This might also explain a hostile takeover attempt by the billionaire brothers who own UFC...

This could unfold into a monster, and I mean MONSTER week/month.

Banana, first off, best wishes on recovery. Second, there are solid sources on this board which have verified that it IS NOT a misprint, which leads me to believe we may be in for a massive buyback PR which in turn would lower significantly the number of preferred shares issued on 9/15.

My take is that this PR was mostly a "marketing campaign", and it's worked perfectly. It has generated awareness, buzz, and excitement (over a long weekend no less)! This was a great first shot over the bow...

This week IMO should bring another PR (or two) now that BKMP has everyone's attention. Nothing like feeding a frenzy with more substance. Can you imagine a short squeeze in progress that gets US carrier news thrown onto the fire? Or buyback news?
