FastFish,
Excellent points. When I was at the recent GCKO conference last month, Martin mentioned that since the CareBot can be an in home monitoring unit (take heartrate for instance) it can be included for Mediacare and insurance just like a in home heart monitor. Here is a excerpt from a current article...
"Some believe that the technology is approved and paid for through options such as the Assistive Technology Act of 1998, which broadens the definition, use, and funding of technology at home. Other sources include long-term care insurance, Medicare and Medicaid, Medicaid waivers, and (potentially) stimulus funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, under the provisions for health information technology and electronic medical records for acute care."
This is how this could change the entire health care debate and give the savings the Dems are promising. Could you imaging the number of orders within a few years if insurance companies stand to save millions?
I'm not out. I'm irritated that I sold some shares too early Friday, but I'm grateful for ther run nonetheless. I believe in the company and so far recent events have been occuring as planed. I am very surprised to see a 600% gain on Friday however and am interested to see where we go from here. My guess is that we will test the .055 range then even up to .09. That really puts the PPS right on with the value of the technology. The fund raising is going extrelmely well it seems and I would expect the initial order of 20-30 prototypes to be built in order to enhance the in home trials. Just like Martin has been planning. From there he will be able to supply 1000 a month within 6 months once testimonials come out about the success of the in home trials. So, I'm definately not out and yes, I feel we might have seen the last of the sub penny PPS. However, i know many are in for the quick bang and a 600% run plus what we might see Monday is hard not to just take gains. So, very possible we see a jump and a drop, and hover around .03 or something. Once a manufacturer is announced to supplly more CareBots for continuing in home trials, stock will really jump because now we are talking about sales$$$. Martin told me he believes we will see an initial order of at least 1000 (could be 4000) by as early as mid year. 1000 at $15,000 each, ramping up to 1000 production a month.
That's the plan as i know it and holding my shares.
Dude, try not to use grandma and poker in the same sentance.
For those of us who have been close to the stock and it's players, this was day has been on the horizon for a while. I am surprised it came with such gusto and went all the way to .045 without a press release. I had anticipated the next big jump be due to signing an agreement to produce an initial order of 20-30 CareBots pushing the stock to .20 or so. Funding has been the issue, but i know Martin and Noah are pushing hard. Maybe found a key player? I sent Martin a congrats e-mail today and he was short with his reply. Odd, he usually is very conversational. This certainly puts them better off financially as the stock price rises and allows them the capital to produce more protypes for in-home trials. They have identified several top tier manufacturers capable and interested in producing the enhanced model. I look for that to be the key to another HUGE leg up in the stock. I said they could be at 1.00 by the end of 2010 if a miracle happened. .50 is absolutely a real possibility. .25 seems like a no-brainer. Bottom line is they are moving forward with production of these in home CareBots. How many, with who, when...answers we could have sooner than later. Image 1000 being ordered at $15,000 a piece. This company could have sales of 15 Mil by the end of the year. Cheers to those who have been keeping the faith for the past few months.
Hope everyone who had been long was able to dip their toe in the water and get some gains, but didn't sell all. Would not be surprised if news on production is very soon since fund raising has been rather good.
GCKO up 130%
GCKO up 146%
GCKO going nuts
GCKO on run, up 35% - news coming
GCKO up 35%
GCKO up 30%
Amen brother, gotta love the 30% pop today!
Look back at post 521. I still feel that is unlikely for 2010, but it depends on what fuels the fire. Certainly .20 once testimonials and production begins.
They are contracting with McGyver to get them built ASAP. Just kidding.
They are still working on building capital for this.
I wish I knew and Martin would not tell me for legal resons if they were close, but I did sense there was an anticipation that it was only a matter of time. Believe me, I don't have any vested interst other than making a killing on this stock. Capital is VERY hard to come by now. I am in the hotel business and it is tough out there now to get loans and build capital for an existing industry let alone an emerging one. I still believe in the course and the volume continues to do well.
I have had communications with Martin Spencer CEO and he is very ex ited about the recent capital fund raising since the conference. The plan to have 20-30 prototype models with up to 1000 within 6 months is on track. The in home trials are progressing well and they are learning a lot from both the care givers and care takers. Just some notes to share with you all.
Right now raising capital is key. If they magically had $ 500,000 and could begin producing these on a large scale, I think we would see a big pop. Not sure where they stand as far as fund raising, but certainly the issue right now. I bought shares at the end of the day today because it's been quite and I think they might be ready to release some news.
All you have to do is sign up for a premium membership and you can find out what nothing that matters means.
Agreed Divein, well said.
GCKO - lighting it up with new data from in home trials of Carebot.
I am happily surprised at how much impact this PR has had on the stock volume and price today. This is the kind of day that will turn heads and get us moving in the right direction. I can't say i am not a bit hesitant, but i didn't used this push to sell off shares, so i guess i am betting this will not fade too far from where we stand today. We'll see.
This POP with only one testimonial. Be patient, this is only the beginning. I knew i felt lucky for us today :)
Huge news today. Excellent expansion to manufacturing. This is what SVA was lacking was mass production capability.
Good release today. Hopefully it will stir some interest.
The naked short selling will keep the stock more or less where it is, but with the news on the horizon, it will become too risky a short trade for these jerks. I have added to my position at this level because it is a great buy in point. I feel confident that the gravity of the situation will force these guys out of the stock and from there it could be an easy ride to .05 or so quickly. I will be watching tomorrow since I don't have to work and feel lucky. Who knows. I do know it's Thanksgiving on Thursday and I plan on eating more than is humanly possible. Happy turkey day all!
Price being manipulated
Group hug?
I plan on touching base with Martin this week to see how things are going with the testing. From speaking with Mark Peele ( VP of R&D)I know that there are still modifications needed on the voice systems and internet/ video capabilities. The entire shell or look of the CareBot is not in the form they would produce. This would be streamline and the open area with the moving sensors would be covered.
As far as funding, I think they are needing about 250K to continue short term/ initial testing and probably another 500k for initial ordering of the official in home trials later this year. If they had their wish, I get the sense the limited testing will end during the first QTR, modifications made and an order placed for 30 or so for six month in home trials. Now, along with the 30 would need to be a promise of a follow up order as well. I don't think a large manufacturer would just create 30 of these things due to costs associated with set up and testing. So, orders would have to be in place numbering upwards of 500 or so. I have been told yesterday that they have orders pending, but they are not happy with the current model, so the current in-home trials are helping to fine tune the model. Also, i think funding is an issue) Now it is possible that the manufacturer comes on board as an investor of the initial order, but who is that? Don't know. A medical devise company could look at this as an opportunity to be the first to market with these and be able to offer cost savings to GOV agencies and independent companies at a time when the health care debate is all about costs.
I still think, and let me say, i am not educated in this area, that there could be an opportunity with GOV funding. If Obama is so set on passing this health care bill, would they be interested in creating funding for a cost savings product? Not sure how all that works.
In the end, I guess they need about 250K to get through initial testing and modifications to have a usable model ready for production. We need more investors and a heavy buying volume to drive up the PPS and stop the naked short selling through NITE. I think if they can stay aggressive and moving forward through the middle of next year, the pent up demand that Martin is always talking about, will reveal itself.
So who wants to step up with 250K? :)
I had a 200k buy in but i was beaten too the punch and the price jumped. I had a feeling it was going to show activity before the bell. I waited too long before pulling the trigger. I have had a conversation with Mr. Clark today and he says they are actively fund raising due to the demand for production of the model. However, they want to do some preliminary testing with the limited trial. I don't think the current model is ready to hit the production line, but very soon. I am worried about the funds in the piggy bank for Gecko. However, i don't believe it is a dead end. With that said, we need to see increasing volume and reports as to how the trials are going. We need a partner to step up and provide funding for a very Merry Christmas.
This has been one strange week. The announcement of trials needs to be understood as "limited" trials. I think these are the first steps to gather data from the field as to what is working and what needs to be corrected and improved. Still, great news and great to see the company moving forward. As the heath care debate heats up and costs become more and more of an issue, having data collected from the field is absolutely necessary to drive home the sale of this product. Today was crazy all around so don't get discouraged. It is possible, that we are seeing the bottom of this stock, possible let me state again. With encouraging testimonials from the field we could continue to push up over the .01 mark, then beyond. Keep the faith, Gecko has for 12 years or so and now they are closer than ever to mass producing these to a new untapped market of citizens.
Sorry about that, had to leave suddenly. One thing I am concerned with is all th open short interest on the stock. I would like nothing more than to see agressive buying through the end of the year and at least see the PPS back up to .01.
There needs to be more substantial press releases, than what we have seen. They have begun to be just backgroung noise. What will the catalyst be? Not sure. I would love to see a partership formed with a manufacturer by the end of the year.
Share your thoughts and spread the word.
Based on the value of the current technology, I would say that the market cap should be around 17,000,000 - $20,000,000.
So a PPS of lets say conservativly, .07 (that's with 250 million shares outstanding) Now with projected sales of 1000 carebots this year, again conservative (Martin has mentioned this could reach 4000) at $15,000 a piece, that would certainly double if not triple the pps. More importantly, now we have earnings and once that occurs, accompanied with testimonials from the field which show the efficiencies and success of the product, by year end it is possible to see a best case scenerio of .20-.30 PPS. Now this could explode if sales picks up, there is some amazing PR that comes out, or in-home robotic health care hits the Oprah show or something. If the concept picks up and Bill Gates continues his endorsement of robotics and more catch on, etc, we could see a PPS of $1.00 by early 2011.
I still think this is going to be driven through the need of the world for new and improving technology. People have a way of seeing the cool factor ahead of the benefit sometimes. For example) do you need a Porshe to get to work, no you just need a Honda, but a Porshe is cool. Having a in house CareBot serves a need of the consumer and the health care system, but it's really cool too. While companies will lok at the bottom line and cost saving, people always are attracted by the cool! There is nothing cool about an in-home heart rate monitor, but a CareBot? Yes.
The key as i see it is sales right now. We need to find a partner to build the things and create the infrastructure for in home trials. Gecko needs to be at every trade show, searching for partners to move into the market. Along the way they need to be plugging this on every available channel. Print, online, TV, the world is waiting for new technology, they need to be aggressivly selling it now! With health care costs on evrybody's mind right now, it creates a window.
My knowledge is that they are trying to secure a manufaturer at this time to build the CareBots for in home trials. I was witness to some very productive and promissing talks at the conference. I have worries, as we all should just due to the risk of the stock, about raising of funds moving forward and the ease of creating the necessary infrastructure to support a market for residential use. I think they would much rather lease out the technology to a company than build all this from the ground up. Question is when does the news hit that XYZ has decided to partner with Gecko to run 100 in home trials with an option to supply 1000 units by the end of 2010...something (i made that up). I would sure like to some hot news, but am waiting as well. I've not thrown in the towel because i think there is a tremendous upside.
I was there early on the first day. Keep in mind that this was not meant to be a popcorn show with jugglers and clowns. Martin was involved in one on ones for the entire time I was there. Invitations were only sent to individuals and companies who had extreme interest. I spoke to Martin aftet the event and he was very encouraged with the relationships he made with vendors and manufacturers. Not sure what transpired in the afternoon of the first day or the second. Hope this helps.
PPS hung in there today. Look for additional PR tomorrow.
I left a message with Martin today. I want to get a feel of how the conference went from his end and what possible PR could be in our future. I do think that this price is low and could be a good opportunity to add a few shares.
I had the opportunity attend the conference for a few hours yesterday. I can confirm there were several representatives from various companies as well as members of the press. I also had one on one conversations win CEO Martin Spencer regarding his vision of the company. He is certainly a man of, intelligence, integrity and passion. He has a knowledge of the infrastructure needed to market the care bot and there seems to be legitimate interest from manufactures. The technology was very impressive.
Things could be happening very soon.
Thought this was interesting...
The findings will be presented at the upcoming HFES 53rd Annual Meeting, Grand Hyatt, San Antonio, Texas, Thursday, October 22, 2009.
Despite manufacturers' increased development of in-home robots, it's unclear how much interaction people would be willing to have with them. Robots can perform routine tasks such as cleaning, the Roomba vacuum cleaner being the best-known example. Studies have found that individuals think of robots as advanced appliances, but there is not much research on why this is so. Robots could perform more critical tasks, such as reminding a person to take medications, teaching a new skill, providing security, and reducing social isolation.
To gauge how willing people might be to have a robot perform these kinds of more interactive tasks, Drs. Neta Ezer (now at Futron Corporation), Arthur D. Fisk, and Wendy A. Rogers sent a questionnaire to 2,500 Atlanta-area adults ages 18 to 86 and received 177 responses. One of their questions addressed respondents' level of experience with technology and robots that do things like mow, clean, guard, and entertain. Older adults (ages 65 to 86) had significantly less experience with technology than younger ones (18-28), but younger adults had only slightly more experience with robots currently on the market.
When asked about their willingness to have robots perform 15 tasks in the home (categorized as entertainment, service, educational, and general health/self-care), respondents of all ages preferred that robots stick to noninteractive tasks (such as "Help me with housework" or "Bring me things I need from another room in my home") rather than interactive ones (for example, "Have a conversation with me" or "Help motivate me to exercise"). Infrequent critical tasks, such as "Warn me about a danger in my home" or "Inform my doctor if I have a medical emergency," were seen by more older adults than younger ones as important for robots to perform.
Both younger and older respondents reported positive attitudes toward a robot in their homes. They thought a robot would be useful but were less confident that it would be easy to use. Given a choice between receiving care by a robot in their homes and moving to a care facility in the event of illness or injury, 67% of younger adults and 77% of older adults chose the former option. (This finding is not reported in the paper to be presented in October.)
The researchers say their results "suggest that both younger and older individuals are more interested in the benefits that a robot can provide than in their interactive abilities." Furthermore, the results discredit the stereotype that older adults would be less willing than younger ones to accept new technology such as a robot in their home. Manufacturers: Take note.
iRobot just came out yesterday and said they are STARTING a home care robot program. GCKO is ready for trials with a product.

What was with the big spike today? I must say that I am impressed with the stock able to fight through this correction so far. We'll see. If it touhes .005 again look for heavy volume. Maybe even.006
SVA reported 2nd quarter 2009 earnings of USD .14 per share on 8/19/09.This beat the consensus of USD 0.01 by USD 0.13
3rd QTR results coming soon and should be big.
