MICRO...Yeahhh!
Why did the SP not rise cause of the DELL deal. There wasn´t mentioned how much WAVE will get.........
In the presentation I saw 0.25-1 (volume)
Think about 0.5 and about 25M PCs and 10M STM TPM per 0.10 and Atmel and Intel and and and...
16M should be reached next year WITHOUT activating ETS!

Micro...thanks for this post, I´m sure it will help many WAVX investors (including me).

Vader...let me ask you one more question.
I´ve 10 clients and 2 server (WIN2003 domain controller) in my company. There are 4 HP, 3 Siemens, 2 Sony notebooks, 1 Compaq notebook, 1 HP server, 1 Dell server.
Imagine all of them would have different TPMs and different TPM versions.
How is it possible for me to store my keys and passwords on each machine and all password on one server. It´s necessary to store the password on client and server side.
Infineon has a small server side solution which stores keys from Infineon TPMs at the server.
If my small company has these problems think about gorillas!
They have 1000s of different clients all over the world.
Concerning web applications:
If TPMs will get the future solution for authentication don´t you think it should not matter what TPM is in the client?
Thanks for your answer

MICRO...you´re 100% right!
Nothing has changed except the fact that trusted computing gains more and more traction!
At Systems2005 a TCG rep told gugi and me that"..if TCG has success WAVE can become a big company..".
Why should the TCG with all the big players FAIL?
TPMs are near on all new PCs and perhaps MACs.
TCG makes the specs and the rules for the next generation computing. The members of TCG who made the specs are responsible that the specs are used in manufacturing, software development and so on... So it´s impossible that TCG fails!
We´re sitting in the middle (BOD)! I think we should enjoy the wave.....
BR
ISPRO
Vader...Infineon is everywhere cause their software is for FREE!
At this time nobody knows about TPM, there are a few TPM maschines in the market, no websites require TPMs for access....
IMHO I think nobody turns on the infineon software, cause we don´t need to at THIS time.
Think about if there are 50% TPM maschines in the market. Software developers begin to write software (Web and LAN based) that require TPMs. VISTA needs TPM1.2 (at least 2 versions for secure startup). Do you think that in the near future it would be better to be interoperable?
BR
ISPRO
Doma...Intel used Infineon 1.1b
The new Intel mobos have STM and Broadcom. I´ve never seen an Infineon 1.2 in any specs of any mobo facturer. A while ago someone on this board answered me that there are Infineon TPM1.2 in Panasonic notebooks. I´ve searched for tech specs for these Notebooks and never saw an Infineon1.2 except one advertising pdf.
If the infineon software only works with infineon (and I think so) why should Apple use them? Isn´t it important for Apple to be interoperable ? (DRM only functions for PCs and Macs with Infineon.LOL)
Perhaps Wave works on a MAC ETS?

GoKite....100% agreed!
Dell had Waves ETS as an option. Nobody saw it, nobody bought it! Now Dell bundles Wave ETS light. Everybody will see it, many (I hope so) will buy it!
Give a dollar away, get back 20! Dell is here to make money, NOT to push or support WAVE! They know where money can be made in the near future...

Dell to Ship Wave Security Software on New PCs
By Paul F. Roberts
November 21, 2005
http://www.eweek.com/article2/0,1895,1892219,00.asp
Dell Inc. will bundle security software from Wave Systems Inc. on future business PCs equipped with the Trusted Platform Module, a secure computing chip, according to information provided to federal regulators by Wave Systems.
ADVERTISEMENT Wave signed a deal with Dell to ship the Wave Embassy Trust Suite software on new business PCs on Nov. 14, according to an SEC filing by Wave on Monday.
The software allows companies to integrate user authentication, data encryption and file-based protection on systems that have the TPM chip.
Dell does not comment on news about future products, said Anne Camden, a Dell spokeswoman.
The TPM (Trusted Platform Module) is a silicon-based microcontroller that was developed by the TCG (Trusted Computing Group). TPMs are manufactured by a number of vendors and installed on the motherboard of PCs and stores secure data like encryption keys, passwords and digital certificates.
The TPM is considered more resistant to external attacks than software-based encryption products.
Dell points to progress in the consumer market. Click here to read more.
Dell already bundles Wave's Embassy Security Center, on its Optiplex line of corporate desktops and Precision line of workstations. Dell also offers the Embassy Suite as a peripheral item that customers can choose to have installed on their Dell system through the Dell Web site, she said.
Bundling software like the Embassy Suite ensures compatibility with the platform. Dell bases its decisions about which software to bundle with its hardware on customer feedback, she said.
Under the new agreement with Dell, Wave will receive a royalty for each unit that ships with the Embassy technology, according to the SEC filing.
Dell has partnered with Wave, making the TPM chip as a standard component of Dell systems in March, 2005. Customers use the software to manage and extend the functionality of their TPM chips, Camden said.
Wave also has agreements with other companies. Chip giant Intel Corp. bundles the Embassy Trust Suite with its motherboards and IBM Corp. ships Wave's technology with its computers.
Papa Gino's Holdings Corp., a Dedham, Massachusetts chain of Italian restaurants, use Wave's Embassy Trust Suite on Dell OptiPlex desktop and Latitude notebooks to encrypt data on the computer hard drive, backup tapes and in transit, said Chris Cahalin, network manager at the company.
Stories about data exposed by lost or stolen desktop computers puts a premium on software that can protect customers from data theft, Camden said.
"Wave and Dell with the TPM actually offer a good solution to help counteract that kind of situation," she said.

I think Doma told me that Panasonic notebooks have an Infineon TPM 1.2 ( Doma please correct me if I´m wrong)

Sheldon...Sony notebooks have a Infineon TPM 1.1b.
I thought, the pdf concerning the VGNBX540 series was TPM 1.1b compliant with Wave software was:
TCP 1.1b compliant, with wave software
BUT
I talked with Brian about this and he told me, there is no wave software bundled with Sony BX series.
There are the series VGN540, 560, 570BX with the mention like above.
In europe there are only the 195, 196, 197BX series with Infineon TPM1.1b and infineon security software. I´ll get 5 of the 196BX series on 25.11.2005 and of course I´ll install ETS on the notebooks!

Hi Andi!
Could it be that Wave, Infineon and Seagate are elected for only one year to the BoD, to push the TCG and to help to bring this ship on course?
After this period Trusted Computing should have gained traction and there is no more need for additional power (Vista has arrived). I don´t think these companies have been elected cause other left the BoD.
Concerning DELL - do you thing the Dell efforts in europe could have impact on the DELL-ETS performance in a positive way? We have ordered a customized Dell machine for a friend months ago and it was a challenge also to put these eggs in the basket. Dells websites are a little bit confusing and the usability is really not great, but I think if Waves ETS gets more important through the deployment oft TPMs Dell will bring the ETS in a better place on their sites. Sure it should be now but we´ve talked with Brian at Systems about this and he was worried also, cause these things (maintenance of Dell websites) take to much time. Brian told us that in several days Wave will be on the european Dell website and nothing has happened yet. Remember when DELL ETS 1.0 was replaced by version 2.0.
Thanx for you answer

Unclever...thanx!

Unclever..concerning the version numbers I agree!
We´ve different version numbers for different products (ERP, CRM, Maintenance software) within ISPRO2000.
Customers:
Sure the real customer is the Dell customer. But enterprise customers need an IT prof in their company or an extern IT specialist to implement Wave client and server side solution. The private sector has a TPM on their PC and turns it on by upgrading the ETS via Waves or Dells site. (sure it should be much easier and it should be a download with credit card payment - if somebody watches the board who is familiar to WAVE). The consumer market doesnt care if this software is a DELL ETS 2.0, a WAVE ETS 5.0 or something else cause you cannot compare ETS with an OFFICE product from MSFT or the operating systems MS DOS, DR DOS and COMPAQ DOS. Think about "HP protection tools" (HP) and "Infineon TPM security software" (Sony). Years ago we had an KHK-Office system (KHK and MSFT made an all inclusive system for small business)IMHO
DELL sales
You know that in Q3 Dell took ETS 1.0 from their site and it has taken several weeks until the new DELL ETS2.0 appears. Please consider that therefore DELL sales were made (I hope so) in 09/05 and reported to Wave in 10/05. I remember that in you transcript we could read that ~90k rev came from software deals ( no bundling - please correct me if I´m wrong)
The DELL European tour has started on 26.10.2005 in Dublin, where Waves ETS is promoted. The fruits of this tour maybe will come Q1/Q2 2006. I think the first real numbers from Dell can come in the Q4 CC.

Agreed, but I think a marriage would not get US (SH) to ".. the land of milk and honey.."
If Infineon gives up their SW division and joins Wave ETS to deliver with their TPM.......(just kidding)
BR

Vader...do you think the rising TPM market will be big enough for 2 or more competitors?
Think about Mcafee, Symantec, Kaspersky and so on...
BR

Rachelise...I don´t think other TPM manufacturers want a competitor like Infineon to develop a TPM software for their TPMs.

Eamon ...thanx but I´ve only 5 employees and we are all bosses in our functions cause there is no need for a structure.

Unclever....I´m owner and CEO of a software development company.
All our customers have the same product with the same source but nearby each customer has different functions, buttons, list boxes and so on. In reality every customer has the same version, but with different branding and version numbers.
So the secret is in the possibility to customize your product with ini and config files or user config modules. The customer think they have a product just exactly for their needs and with special functions developed for them. In reality all other customers have the same functions but they cannot see or use them.
I think SKS means the same. There is one version of ETS with different brandings and features turned on. So they can use one source and by turning on special functions they can create different products for their vendors. So Wave can make different prices cause ETS seems to be a different product when you buy it from Dell or when you get it with your Intel mobo.

Unclever...thanx a lot for your work here!
